Chevrolet Aveo or Hyundai Solaris - which is better? Comparison of Hyundai Solaris I sedan and Chevrolet Aveo T250 sedan restyling What is better Aveo or Solaris.

Due to the combination of its qualities, the Korean urban compact Hyundai Getz became a favorite with practical small car buyers. Will the debutant of this class be able to compete with him - Chevrolet Aveo?

He can, he can. And we were convinced of this with our own eyes. Let's start with appearance. Getz and - cars are very nice. Their design is expressive and at the same time calm. They organically fit into the urban landscape and, as a rule, are not considered either “purely feminine” or “purely masculine” cars. A sort of unisex on wheels. There are no hard age restrictions.

When choosing Getz, the consumer may have questions regarding the configuration, engine power, number of doors, and finally - Getz can also be a three-door. Those who are inclined to buy Aveo, in addition, will be forced to make a choice between two very different in design “muzzles” of the car. One is the one we are used to. The second one is fundamentally different: there are other head optics, a radiator grille, a bumper and foglights. It is with this design Chevrolet Aveo.

Aveo and debuted at the time, however, then he was still Daewoo Kalos. I must say, this version of the design of the front of the car is more like a creation of the Giugiaro masters than what we have seen before. Although the "parallel" Aveo is branded by this famous studio.

By overall dimensions the cars are also very similar, if not identical. In any case, until you look at the specification, it is very difficult to determine which is more or less. But to be completely objective, Aveo is still larger than Getz, although we are talking about millimeters.
In this regard, as you understand, the internal dimensions of both machines are very similar. So, to say that, for example, there is much more space in Aveo than in Getz is simply ridiculous. However, it is more convenient in Getz. And first of all, because of the seats that are more friendly to the human anatomy. Plus, unlike Aveo, Getz has backrest adjustment for second-row seats, which is important.

Approximately at the same level and the aesthetic component, which is always taken into account when evaluating the interior. However, it seemed to us that Getz is still closer to European cars in terms of finishing and selection of materials, while Aveo promotes Korean motifs more, albeit with a slight Italian touch (let's pay attention to the dial wells and the trunks of the central air ducts).

Where the cars differ greatly is in the volume of the trunk: the Aveo has 34 liters less, and with the 2nd row seats folded down, it is 150 liters. The reason is the different kinematics of folding the seats. In Aveo, everything is simple: I dropped the back on the seat, that's all the body movements. Getz is more difficult. First you need to put the back on the seat, and then lean this sandwich against the backs of the front seats. It turns out a little more difficult, but what a gain in usable volume!

Both Aveo and Getz in our case had engines of a similar volume - 1.4 liters, but the sixteen-valve Aveo engine had more power - 94 hp. against 82 for Getz. But we did not notice much difference in the dynamics of the cars. Judging by the technical data, we are talking about 0.4 s, which cannot be detected without a stopwatch. But the fact that for the same reason Getz has a 10 km / h lower maximum speed can be seen. However, what a prudent person would rush on these crumbs at a speed of 176 km / h! Firstly, it’s scary, and secondly, at speeds above 140 km / h, in the first or in the second car, you can forget about comfort: it becomes too noisy due to poor sound insulation and structural features of the body.

In addition to these differences, there is one more, also related to the engine. Getz is able to be content with 92nd gasoline, while the Aveo power unit must be fed exclusively with 95th. This means that with the same volume of fuel tanks (45 liters), refueling Aveo will cost more. And this is provided that the fuel consumption of cars is almost the same.

They are similar in both suspension and brakes. As a result, we also did not notice much difference in behavior on the road, except that Aveo is a little tougher. Another thing is the work of the CP. Getz pleased with excellent selectivity and clarity of inclusions. Aveo has a clear failure in these indicators. Gears are turned on reluctantly, it is difficult to find them out of habit, plus, often instead of reverse gear you can stick the first one: they are nearby.

And yet, despite minor flaws, Aveo will slightly “move” the uncrowned king of megacities. Moreover, the cars are very close in price: about $13,000 in a good configuration.

We are in no hurry to leave the “B” automotive segment, which we began to consider in the last issue of the magazine, because Russian annual sales in this segment amount to many hundreds of thousands, or 39% of the total number of cars sold in 2008.

The heroes of our next publication are Hyundai Getz, Chevrolet Aveo and KIA Rio, which in 2008 were sold about 75 thousand copies. And that's a lot!

General information

All three cars are classic representatives of their segment. Front-wheel drive, with a body length of up to 4.2 m, offered with sedan and hatchback bodies (except for Hyundai Getz, which is only a hatchback), manual and automatic transmissions at the buyer's choice. It's clear that power units for Russia only gasoline. Unlike any “germania”, our person is not born with a calculator in his head, but with a breadth in his soul. Buy small, compact and hyper economical diesel car to “fuss” on it around the metropolis at minimal cost? Wow, how petty! If you really stick around in a traffic jam, then occupying a space of 4.5 m in length and about 2 m in width. Probably, the Koreans understand all the peculiarities of demand stemming from the breadth of the Russian soul, therefore, GM DAT did not provide for a diesel engine for Aveo in principle, and Hyundai and KIA did not consider the supply of Getz and Rio with a 1.5 CRDi engine, which consumes no more than 5 l solar oil.

Hyundai Getz was the first to appear in Russia. Hatchback with no design frills, with a "strict unisex" appearance, this car immediately attracted attention in our market due to its competent positioning, providing good value for money, consumer qualities and specifications. It is also not a bad idea in terms of safety, having airbags and ABS with EBD in the list of complete sets. And from the point of view of EuroNCAP, he is a solid “good guy”. So Hyundai sales Getz numbered in many tens of thousands since its appearance in Russia, and the offer of “three-year-olds” of this model is the most extensive.

Chevrolet Aveo. This kid is also great! The Koreans from GM DAT and the Russian representative office of GM also correctly assessed the needs of our compatriots, having formed configurations and prices, and therefore the queues for the purchase of Aveo stretched up to six months - both for a sedan and a hatchback. And restyling in 2008 only benefited this Chevrolet. He is the most stylish of all our trinity.

But the KIA Rio of the generation in question started rather weakly. There are many reasons for this - from prices that are frankly high for a Korean car of this class, to the organization of its production at IzhAvto with a further curtailment of production in Izhevsk and the next establishment of deliveries from Korea. As a result, KIA Rio was sold many times less than Aveo and Getz, although the car is not bad from a technical and consumer point of view. Therefore, it is not surprising that on secondary market cars of this model are much smaller. And in terms of prices compared to the purchase price, they lost much more.

From the point of view of the driver and passengers

The most “driving” of our trinity is the Chevrolet Aveo. Light and precise steering, quick responses to the actions of the driver sitting behind the wheel ... Perhaps even too fast, especially for an unprepared driver, because it is not a big deal to send the Aveo into a side slide. In general, having bought Aveo, drive with pleasure! But don't jump on the throttle, much less slow down, because this little Chevy will immediately decide you want to fan the corner and play along with you. For some it's fun, for others it's scary.

In terms of ergonomics of the driver's workplace, Aveo is also in the lead. Everything is well made, correctly placed and highlighted. And not sad in the cabin, as in the KIA Rio, for example. Only the steering wheel is too big in diameter and the gearshift lever is not optimally located. To turn on even gears, you have to wind your hand almost behind your back. And the lever moves are too big.

Passenger capacity and cargo transportation - again in the lead Aveo. Most spacious salon, in which even tall drivers and passengers can accommodate, the most comfortable and roomy trunk, if the Aveo is sedan - here its volume is as much as 400 liters (the hatchback has only 220 liters). The Hyundai Getz, the default hatchback, has 245 liters, while the KIA Rio has 270 liters for the hatchback and 390 liters for the sedan.

In the nomination “driving comfort” Chevrolet loses its leadership. Aveo “road” suspensions are harsh, they shake the crew on our roads. And the rumble from the rolling of tires on the asphalt is noticeable. In this nomination, the palm belongs to Hyundai Getz. This uncomplicated appearance car generally lacks stars from the sky, being the golden mean in everything - in handling, ergonomics and so on. But in terms of the ability to swallow bumps, gently cradling people and loads, he is ahead of the other participants in our comparison. If Getz with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, then it will be ahead in terms of acceleration dynamics.

And what about Rio, the youngest of the cars in question? The modesty appearance of this KIA model continues the dullness of the interior, there are no frank flaws in ergonomics, but there are also special reasons for joy. Steering wheel big, flat seat. Rear passengers will probably find themselves more cramped than in the Getz, not to mention the Aveo. But KIA knows how to drive well! Of course, not as “rulezno” as Chevrolet, settings KIA suspension softer, he behaves more calmly, but not as smoothly and comfortably as Hyundai. In general, this machine does not win “podiums” in competitions with fellow countrymen.

Cost of ownership: economy, maintenance, repair

We continue to assume that you carefully read our article in the February issue about choosing a used car and checking its technical condition, so the likelihood that you will buy a “live” car of any make and model will tend to the maximum. Because otherwise, it is simply impossible to consider anything, a “bumped” copy of any automaker and any class is able to pull such an amount out of his pocket that it will not seem small to anyone.

From the point of view of efficiency, the Chevrolet Aveo, equipped with a 1.2-liter engine, is ahead, if not of the whole planet, then of the trinity under consideration: 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle is the lowest figure of all the models under consideration in all trim levels. Moreover, he is quite capable of “eating” AI-92 gasoline. There is only one problem with Aveo with such a motor: it will accelerate quickly and drive only from the point of view of a grandfather who first sat behind the wheel after a bicycle. Therefore, if you want not to strain, trying to stay in the traffic flow, it makes sense to pay attention to the Chevrolet 1.4 liter engine. And it will be more fun to drive, and fuel consumption is not much higher - by 0.4 liters per 100 km.

Hyundai Getz is also great! If it is with a 1.6-liter engine, then in acceleration to 100 km / h you will “leave” from 10 s, and only 5.9 liters of fuel per 100 km in the combined cycle will go. Excellent result! By the way, the 1.4-liter Getz engine has approximately the same fuel consumption parameters, so if you choose between engines based on fuel efficiency, then the “younger” one has no special advantages over a more powerful brother.

And KIA with a 1.4-liter engine is the most voracious. Give him 6.2 liters per 100 km in the same run cycle. And at the same time, there are no advantages in accelerating dynamics over Hyundai and Chevrolet.

As for the cost of maintenance and repair, prices for spare parts and prices for services, all three models have approximate parity between these parameters within the framework of the official service. After all, this is also an object of competition between brands for the buyer's wallet! Intervals between routine maintenance within the framework of the planned Maintenance virtually identical: 15 thousand km or 12 months - whichever comes first from the moment of the previous MOT. Also, information from the auto centers of the Atlant-M holding and business colleagues indicates that the whole trinity also has parity with reliability and reliability. Both Chevrolet, Hyundai, and KIA are neatly assembled, solid, able to wind tens and hundreds of thousands of kilometers on axle shafts without any problems, if you follow the maintenance regulations and use high-quality spare parts, lubricants and consumables with technical fluids. Which, in principle, is not surprising, because they were created by technical thought from the same country - South Korea, and its progress in terms of the automotive industry is the envy of us.

In our country, small hatchbacks are for some reason considered purely female cars, so when I report that I am trying on Chevrolet Aveo and Hyundai Getz, people look at me either with disbelief or with regret. The public template encourages me to buy a bigger car, something like Ford Focus or Honda Civic, because from the point of view of society, a man in a small car looks undignified, unnatural, wrong. Cars like the Renault Clio Sport and MINI Cooper are expensive exceptions that prove the rule.

But I, in essence, never cared about social stereotypes; especially to those who are devoid of common sense. And when choosing a car, common sense, it seems to me, should be the main guiding force. Of course, when buying any thing, one should not underestimate the role of the taste factor and externally Chevrolet Aveo seems to me more interesting than Hyundai Getz; but the aesthetic advantage of Chevrolet is not so great that I chose it, knowing that it is in some way fundamentally worse than Hyundai.

Why Chevrolet Aveo and Hyundai Getz? Because there are very few others modern cars small class, the owner of which can be for only 350,000 rubles. Say, employees of automobile newspapers earn little? Yes, perhaps, but this work gives a lot of other pleasant benefits. After all, not so little: if I wanted to, I could borrow a “real male car» a class above, but the more I learn about how the banking system works, the less I have the desire to get involved with it. And 350,000 rubles is the amount that is easy enough to save up without torturing yourself with debt obligations. Yes, and I don’t need a car of a higher class: I live in a metropolis of 20 million, I appreciate efficiency, compactness and maneuverability in cars, I rarely drive more than one passenger, I don’t have a dacha, I don’t suffer from Sunday shopping, I’m not fond of hunting and fishing.

For the indicated amount, both applicants appear, fortunately, not complete ascetics: one airbag, power steering, central locking, power windows and adjustable steering column have both cars. Then the nuances begin: Chevrolet, within the agreed budget, is richer in CD / MP3 audio system, ABS and air conditioning, but Hyundai has more powerful engine(1.4 l and 97 hp versus 1.2 l and 84 hp). For reference, we note that Getz can also be purchased with a 66-horsepower 1.1-liter engine for 292,900 rubles, but for myself I immediately rejected this option as too dreary - after all, the car should have some kind of dynamics.

The number of doors does not matter to me, so we deliberately chose the 3-door Aveo to pair with the 5-door Getz, especially since Aveo did not have such a body before the recent restyling - at the same time we will get acquainted with the new version.

In the town

In the city I live, work and rest, so my car willy-nilly is doomed to permanent ordeals in the capital's traffic. For a ragged cork rhythm, the Aveo's weightless clutch and "jelly" shifter fit perfectly, requiring almost no effort other than strong-willed; True, at first the grip seems completely uninformative, but you quickly get used to it and later thank you for the fact that the left leg never gets tired. The traction capabilities of the 1.2-liter engine are quite enough for confident acceleration in the entire range of city speeds; the lack of strength is felt only when climbing overpasses, and even then, if in the process of lifting you feel like overtaking someone, do not overtake and postpone the maneuver to the horizontal or descent.

The Aveo brake pedal is slightly heavier than the clutch, but the information content is an order of magnitude higher - dosing deceleration is easy and simple. The chassis confidently copes with tram tracks and road devastation. repair work- slowing down when overcoming them is caused by rather noisy suspension work than real shocks and vibrations. Visibility is also good, except that too small exterior rear-view mirrors can cause dissatisfaction; moreover, the right one does not have a reducing effect, which is why only a very small part of the events occurring behind the car can be seen in it.

The Getz exterior mirrors are larger and give a more natural look to the eye, with overtaking and lane changes no problem. A more powerful 1.4-liter engine is more pleasant in sharp maneuvers, but in crawling modes, power manifests itself only in fuel consumption, which, of course, is not at all pleasing. The clutch is tight, the gears are engaged precisely and with noticeable effort, which creates a feeling of a solid and reliable car, but in a traffic jam, the excessive elasticity of the controls quickly starts to tire, you want more lightness - maybe it will develop over time? There are no complaints about the brakes, but in comparison with the Aveo, it seems that they almost lack information content. Hyundai's suspension is noticeably quieter than the rival's, and works out small bumps in the roadway a little better.

In general, both cars proved themselves worthy in an urban environment, complicating the driver's life only with small “jambs” like small exterior mirrors on Aveo and tight controls on Getz, for which they lost the highest rating.

Outside the city

Although rarely and without much enthusiasm, I still go out of town - there is such a production and everyday necessity. Chevrolet Aveo quite conscientiously endures a long journey, demonstrating a good exchange rate stability and unexpectedly cheerful dynamics. Up to 140 km / h, a 1.2-liter engine accelerates a light car quite confidently, and it seemed that this was far from the limit and passport 170 was quite achievable.

On a more or less high-quality highway, the Aveo rolls lullingly smoothly; the palette of noises is dominated by the wind, and its uniform rumble, with all the desire, can hardly be called uncomfortable. Acoustic troubles arise only on broken roads, which the Aveo suspension works out, as they say, without embarrassment in expressions and scares the crew with squeaks and rumbles.

Hyundai Getz is more tolerant of bad asphalt and generally seems more comfortable under any conditions, but, frankly, if you test both cars with your ears closed, you may not notice a difference in ride between them. Where the Getz is undeniably better is in overtaking at high speed - thanks to a more powerful engine that allows you to make most of the maneuvers without fiddling with the gear lever.

Both cars are not prohibited from driving onto the dirt road: their ground clearance although it is far from the record figures in the class, but with careful driving, these kids will be able to master more than a dozen kilometers of country roads without damage to the body and units located in the bottom area. However, according to the sum of impressions, the Hyundai Getz seems to be more adapted for out-of-town trips: it has better sound insulation and a more temperamental engine on its side.

Controllability

Both vehicles, despite Korean origin, chassis settings demonstrate classic European upbringing: precise steering, slight understeer when oversteered at corner entry, moderate roll and quite effective brakes. Even with modest engines, they are able to please the gambling driver with overloads on a winding country highway. But I don’t consider myself a gambling driver, and in these cars I’m more impressed by the confidence that they inspire with their behavior than the ultimate cornering capabilities.

If not for poor equipment active safety, it would be possible to give Aveo and Getz the highest marks for handling, but, alas, it turned out that in the basic configurations they don’t even have ABS, and ESP is not installed in principle - an unheard-of negligence towards buyers by European standards.

Ergonomics and comfort

I have noticed many times that most people, when they sit behind the wheel of any new car for the first time, immediately begin to feel the plastic of the instrument panel, as if this is the main thing that interests them in the car. Personally, I’m not going to sleep on the dashboard and I’m not interested in its hardness / softness, but if you think that the so-called soft, but in fact just slightly pliable under finger pressure, plastic will cause you less bodily injury during emergency contact, then I don’t I will convince you: I have always respected the "feelings of believers." What is really important to me in the interior of the car is a comfortable fit and good ergonomics. With landing at Aveo, everything is fine: it was possible to find the optimal adjustment of the driver's seat very quickly, and not only for me, but also for colleagues of a different height and physique. And with ergonomics, the 3-door hatchback got an unpleasant puncture: the central pillars of the body are located far behind the front seats, so it’s very inconvenient to reach for the seat belts hanging on them, you have to turn your whole body towards them. In addition, too small exterior mirrors strain the driver, which, of course, does not make the trip more comfortable. The design of the central tunnel also raises questions: of course, thanks to the developers for two storage niches, but for some reason the only cup holder is located behind the front seats, so it is extremely difficult for the driver and navigator to use it. In addition, the diameter and depth of the cup holder is such that it is more suitable for carrying cans than drinks.

The passage to the back seat, as in all 3-door hatchbacks, is associated with light acrobatics, but sitting there is quite comfortable, only too low head restraints are embarrassing.

It's nice that already in the basic configuration Aveo is equipped with a proprietary audio system that supports MP3 format. The large head unit looks very solid, but the sound quality is expected to be mediocre, and if the high and mid frequencies are reproduced more or less believably, then the quality of the low frequencies cannot be determined due to the lack thereof. However, I saw twice and three times more expensive cars, where the sound was worse than in the Aveo. These, alas, include the test Hyundai Getz, equipped with an aftermarket JVC audio system with a loud but monstrously dirty sound. A regular audio system for cars of Russian specification is not provided at all, so the future owner of Getz in any case will have to spend money on equipment; the only nice thing is that in this case you can achieve really good sound.

Getting behind the wheel of the Getz seemed to me quite comfortable, but the taller experts experienced inconvenience, as you can clearly see by watching our video on the site. But the space around the driver is designed more competently than in Aveo: there are three cupholders on the central tunnel (two small ones for tea / coffee and one large and deep one for a large bottle), and the door lock keys are logically located along with handles for opening them. In motion, Getz pleases with a low noise level and is generally perceived by passengers as more comfortable car, for which he receives a slight advantage in points over the Aveo.

Practicality

The hatchback body style comes with a folding rear seat that allows you to carry large items like a pair of Vestax turntables and a mixer for the private parties we like to throw with friends in the car. In both cars, not only the backrest is folded, but also the seat, leaving a deep niche for luggage with a flat floor of a conditionally square perimeter. But if at Getz the seat is completely folded in a ratio of 2:1, then at Aveo only the back is divided into parts, which, of course, limits the passenger-and-freight variability of the cabin. In addition, in the initial position, the Aveo trunk is slightly smaller in volume than the Getz - 220 VDA liters versus 254. However, in the vast majority of cases, I don’t need a trunk at all, but for the sake of objectivity, I have to give Getz a higher rating for practicality.

findings

The winner of this comparative test, as you might guess, was the Hyundai Getz, who did not lose a single round to the opponent. On the Getz side and slightly lower insurance and maintenance costs. Of course, a more powerful engine will require slightly more frequent visits to gas stations, but its appetite, with all the desire, can hardly be called ruinous.

From myself, I can add that the advantage of Getz over Aveo cannot be called overwhelming, it has developed from a combination of nuances, the importance of which is far from obvious to everyone. Including for me. The noise level in the Aveo doesn’t bother me much, I don’t give a damn about the less convenient trunk, but the small exterior mirrors and the far-hanging seat belt confuse me. The problem with the belt is solved by buying a 5-door version instead of a 3-door one (more expensive by an average of 5,000 rubles), and mirrors can become, so to speak, an object of visual tuning. In addition, I am attracted to Aveo design, easy controls and the best equipment within the planned budget. So I don't even know what to choose. The classic situation in the style of "shoemaker without boots." It seems that I know everything about cars, but I find it difficult to make an unambiguous choice. Maybe I'll flip a coin. In any case, I won't guess.

But now I have a choice — which car is better, just for myself. Because I choose inexpensive, but quality car. Therefore, the article was born Chevrolet Aveo or Hyundai Solaris. Mandatory requirements for a car to have an automatic (automatic transmission), a good modern economical engine, new technical solutions (such as usb ports and bluetooth). In general, in order to have everything and at an attractive price, I determined two Aveo car and Hyundai, so today's battle will be between them ...

(2 pages, second page at the bottom of the article)

So, I’ll be the first to talk about Hyundai Solaris, although we already wrote about it here, but I’ll have to repeat myself.

Body

The body is built on the basis of Hyndai Accent, but here the improvement of forms, which is said on the face. The appearance is very modern, front streamlined shapes, large slick headlights, front fog lights with an unusual solution, made in the form of a boomerang. The back is sloping, but also not without appeal. As for the quality of materials, there are no complaints, paintwork very well applied, not afraid of small stones and scratches. All doors close with a well-fitted sound, there is no rattling or any backlash, it feels like you are closing a car a class higher. Plastic bumpers are made of good plastic, they are not damaged in frost, the car's ground clearance is 160 mm, which is very good for our weather conditions.

Salon

Salon Hyundai Solaris, attractive, has good quality materials, the seats, especially the front, have good lateral support, a long journey in the car is well tolerated. Two people can comfortably fit in front, but only two passengers will be comfortable in the back, it’s still a bit crowded for three, and even if your height is more than 185 cm, then you rest against the roof ceiling. The salon can convey maximum comfort, the maximum version of the car has everything from climate control to partial leather trim. In my configuration, which I look after for myself, it is the second one and is called optima + radio package + extended package (handles, mirrors in body color, additional speakers, center armrest) + automatic, there is almost everything. Noise isolation as it should be for a budget class car is not very good. It will be necessary to additionally glue the bottom.

engine

Engine - here the Koreans tried very hard and created a really high-quality product, which is called the Gamma project. Engines for a short time have proven themselves only with positive side. What can be said about them, quiet, economical, dynamic, even on the machine, the car accelerates very impressively. There are two versions with a volume of 1.4 liters (107 hp) and 1.6 liters (123 hp). If you believe the reviews, then a 1.4 liter engine with a manual transmission can be brought to a flow rate of 6.5 liters. Of course, 1.6 liters consumes more, if you still put the machine on, the consumption will be about 9 liters, but it still falls within the limit of 10 liters per 100 km of the city, which is considered normal.

Transmission

Everything is not clear here. There is a five-speed manual transmission that you can still put up with. No, it works without problems, but I want to see 6 gears already.

Automatic - generally has four gears and is almost a dinosaur in the modern world, although in combination with a 1.6-liter engine, it behaves pretty well, it works without jerks and failures. But six gears would have painted the Hyundai Solaris even better, but this is a budget car and they saved a lot on the machine.

Suspension - the first cars had a big flaw in the form of a bad rear suspension, the car, even at low speeds, was taken off the road, it was not possible to drive. But after leaving New Kia RIO already with updated Hyundai suspension Solaris has also been updated, and now the suspension problems are gone. There are rear discs. Holds the road well. The suspension is even more comfortable than that of the Korean counterpart Kia Rio in general, in one word comfortable.

Price

There are a lot of complete sets, I will only say one thing, that the most minimal version of the car costs 445,000 rubles with a 1.4-liter engine and mechanics, there is no air conditioning or a stereo system. If we take the maximum version with a 1.6-liter engine, then this is 624,000 rubles + 35,000 rubles automatic. But everything is there, even such features as a chip key and leather panel trim. For myself, as I wrote above, I consider the Optima package acceptable, with additional packages, its cost is 556,500 rubles.

Now the second contender in our battle Chevrolet Aveo

Chevrolet Aveo

Aveo body

car received new body in 2012 and now is not as boring as it used to be. Appearance, of course, the new aggressive. The shark front hood and four headlights add some sportiness, the car looks 110% out of 100 from the front. rear glass also does not enhance beauty, in general, I would like to say that the car has an unfinished design. Beautiful front and not so back. There are no complaints about painting the body, the car is just wonderfully painted, the body gaps are also within the acceptable limit, everything closes and works as it should. But only when the glass is lowered there is a slight rattle. That is, when you close the door, there is a small third-party sound of vibration, either from the skin or glass, this is not very good, the opponent does not have this, this is a minus.

Salon

Everything here is really futuristic. The front panel has a motorcycle display, as if hinting at the car's youthful style. The instrument backlight is blue, I would even say neon blue at first, it can be a little annoying, but after a few minutes you get used to it, and there are convenient backlight level adjustments, brighter or vice versa weaker. The front panel is made, not bad enough, although it has hard plastic, in principle, like Solaris. There is also a radio and steering wheel controls, there are also usb and aux inputs that are needed now. Readability from the instruments is good, despite the blue monochromatic backlight. But the door trim is worse than that of the opponent, here even in high trim levels there is plastic, there is no fabric trim. True, the plastic here is of two colors, which creates a certain separation of the door, very original. Chevrolet Aveo has a lot of pockets and glove compartments on the panel, by the way, the glove compartment is double here, the top is a small compartment and the bottom is large. The seats are somewhat worse, as is the lateral support, and the material itself. However, in defense, I would like to say that the interior is more spacious, three people will fit in the back with relative comfort, with Solaris three, it will be cramped. The Aveo saloon loses a little to the Solaris saloon in terms of trim, but wins a little in spaciousness.

Engine, transmission, suspension

Engine - this is the ECOTEC 2 engine, which is placed on Opel Astra new generation. The engine has excellent elasticity, it is quite quiet, you can’t hear it in the cabin, it wakes up only after 3.5 thousand revolutions. Chevrolet Aveo is equipped with only one volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 115 hp, which is 8 hp. less than Solaris. However, fuel economy will be almost on par with Solaris.

Transmission - everything is better than Hyundai Solaris. If the mechanics, like the opponent’s, has five gears, and works flawlessly (the speeds are switched without large lever strokes), then the automatic machine here is modern in six gears, which works just fine, the car accelerates very quickly and confidently, and the fuel efficiency of the engine will be much better than with four speed. The machine works without jerks and jerks, the speeds really do not switch noticeably. Aveo has a big plus here.

Suspension - works well, small irregularities are swallowed and tram rails. When cornering, the car has slight rolls, everything is within acceptable limits. But the car lacks sound insulation, however, like Solaris, this is probably a hallmark of all people's cars. Also a big minus is the rear drum brakes, guys, of course, saving money, but it's time to install disc brakes, and this is the necessary security system. Also, I do not really understand the information about the clearance of the car. According to the site and official sources, the clearance is 160 mm, but there is a front rubber overhang that hides another 30 mm, for a total of 130 mm, the question arises: - guys who need this rubber overhang, you will immediately tear it off our curbs. Aveo also has a minus here.

AVEO price

The price is perhaps the biggest plus. The basic version starts from just 444,000 rubles. But the truth is there is no air conditioning, but there is an audio system, and there are also no front windows, here they are manual. In the second configuration, its cost is 487,000 rubles, air conditioning and front power windows are already appearing, you can put another automatic machine here, the car will cost + 33,000 rubles and will amount to 520,000 rubles, but the maximum configuration, which has all power windows + air conditioning + cruise control + 16 alloy wheels, costs 523,000 rubles (mechanics) and 556,000 with a gun.

Now a comparison table that can bring out the winner

Engine 1.5 (115 hp)

The practicality of the body and paintwork
Interior ergonomics, comfort and noise isolation

As you can see Hyundai Solaris wins our battle by three points. We put 3 points for Chevrolet for clearance, we think it deservedly, because you need to think when you produce such a small clearance for Russia. Also, Aveo, even in high trim levels, does not have climate control, but there is absolutely unnecessary cruise control, which is also not very clear. The rear brakes of the Aveo are drum brakes, also a minus. The disadvantages of Hyundai Solaris are a 4-speed automatic and a higher price in maximum configuration, however, in the maximum trim levels, it has something that is not even supplied to the Chevrolet Aveo.

What better hyundai Solaris or Chevrolet Aveo

For a long time on our site there were no articles about the battles between cars of the same class for the first places. For this reason, today we will consider two inexpensive, but very high-quality representatives of this family. Mandatory requirements for cars is the possession of an automatic transmission, economical modern engine and the latest developments in technical solutions, such as bluetooth and usb ports. It will be about Hyundai Solaris and Chevrolet Aveo. It is they who will fight for the championship in this article.

So, let's start with Hyundai Solaris. The body of this car is based on Hyundai Accent, but the forms are greatly improved. Very modern appearance, huge slick headlights, streamlined shape of the front of the body. A very unusual solution to the implementation of the front fog lights They look like boomerangs. The back of the body is sloping, but very attractive. If we talk about the quality of materials, then there are no complaints here, the paintwork is applied very high quality and it is not afraid of scratches from small stones. When closing the doors, there is no play and no rattling sound, it feels like you are closing a high-end car. Bumpers are made of high quality plastic, which is not damaged during frost. The car has a clearance of 166 millimeters, which is an excellent quality for the weather conditions in our country.

The interior of the car is very attractive, it is made of very high quality materials. The front seats have excellent lateral support. A long trip on such a car is very well tolerated. As for the number of passengers, only four will be comfortable in the Hyundai Solaris, since it will be crowded for three in the back seat. In addition, people with high growth (more than 185 centimeters) will rest their heads against the ceiling of the car.

But, despite all this, it is very comfortable inside the car, and especially in the version where there is climate control, an extended package (central armrest, additional speakers, mirrors and handles in body color, etc.). The only negative is the poor sound insulation inherent in all budget classes cars. You will still have to glue the bottom additionally yourself.

The Koreans put a really high-quality engine on the car, its project is called Gamma. In a relatively short time, he managed to prove himself exclusively on the positive side. To be more precise, the engine is dynamic, economical, does not create much noise, and even on the machine is able to accelerate the car to an impressive speed. The engine is made in two versions - this is 107 Horse power(1.4 liters) and 123 horsepower (1.6 liters). According to experts, the engine, which has a volume of 1.4 liters and a manual transmission, consumes 6.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. We will not argue that the 1.6 liter engine will use a little more, and if an automatic machine is installed, the consumption will increase to about nine liters. But at the same time, the norm of ten liters per hundred kilometers in the urban cycle will not be exceeded. The manual transmission has five steps (but I already want to have six). And the automatic transmission in our time is generally a "dinosaur" - it has only four steps. But, in spite of everything, in combination with a 1.6 liter engine, it works flawlessly, without failures and jerks.

Suspensions, and especially the rear ones, on the very first Hyundai Solaris cars had big flaws. The car, even at low speed, could be taken off the road, and it was simply impossible to drive. But in modern versions of this car, this problem is solved and the car keeps the road perfectly. This was achieved thanks to the use of high-quality spare parts. It should be noted that this aspect is very important in the future for the maintenance of any car, both cars and trucks. The main thing is to find a good partner, a supplier of quality spare parts, like this, for example. Hyundai trim levels Solaris is a large number. It should be noted that the most minimal (without a stereo system and air conditioning) at mechanical box gears and a 1.4 liter engine will cost you approximately 445 thousand rubles. A car with the maximum configuration and an engine of 1.6 liters costs 624 thousand rubles, and when installing the machine, you will have to add another 35 thousand. You can buy a car for 556 thousand rubles with complete set Optima, and several additional packages.

Let's move on to the second contender of our battles - Chevrolet Aveo. In 2012, the car was given a new body, and now it does not look as boring as it was before. The new look is more aggressive. With a shark-shaped hood and four headlights, the car has sporty look and smooth, if you look at it from the front, at 110%. But it is worth looking at him from behind, as the whole fuse immediately cools down. Its design, the headlights and their placement, the huge rear window, all of this does nothing to enhance the beauty. The feeling is that the design of the Chevrolet Aveo has not been fully finalized. In other words, the car is very beautiful from the front and terrible from the back. To painting the body, there are no complaints, it is painted wonderfully. Body gaps are also within acceptable limits, everything closes and works without problems. But there is one “but”, when the glass is lowered, a slight rattle is heard. During the closing of the doors, third-party sounds of vibration, either glass or trim, are heard, and this is a minus, this is not observed in Hyundai Solaris.

The front panel of the Chevrolet Aveo has the appearance of a motorcycle display, thereby hinting at youth style. The devices are illuminated in blue, you can even say neon blue. At first, it's even a little annoying, but after a couple of minutes the eyes get used to it. The backlight level controls are also located here, it can be made weaker or brighter. In general, the car's panel is not badly made, although it is made of hard plastic. There is a radio tape recorder, aux and usb inputs that are necessary in our time. Despite the monotony of the blue backlight, the readability of these devices is very good. But the interior door trim wants to be the best, Chevrolet Aveo, even with a high configuration, does not have a fabric coating - only plastic. The only advantage of the door trim is the separation of colors, which makes it original. Also on the panel, manufacturers have placed a large number of all kinds of glove compartments and pockets. By the way, it should be noted that there is a double glove compartment, a large compartment below, and a small one above.

The material from which the seats are made, as well as their lateral support, is slightly worse than that of the opponent. But in defense of Chevrolet Aveo, it is necessary to note the spaciousness of the cabin. On the rear seats can comfortably fit three people. Therefore, Chevrolet loses to Hyundai in terms of trim, but wins in terms of spaciousness.

The ECOTEC 2 engine is installed on the Chevrolet Aveo. Such engines are now installed on the Opel Astra itself. latest generation. This is a fairly quiet motor with excellent elasticity, its operation in the cabin is absolutely inaudible. This class of car is equipped with engines with a volume of only 1.6 liters and a capacity of 115 horsepower. This is eight horsepower less than the opponent, but the fuel economy will be the same as the Solaris.

A big plus of the Chevrolet Aveo is its modern six-speed automatic transmission, which works just fine. Acceleration of the car is gaining confidently and very quickly. The fuel economy of the six-speed automatic is much better than that of the four-speed gearbox. The machine works without jerks and shocks, the gear change is imperceptible.

car suspension the Chevrolet Aveo runs flawlessly, tram tracks and all sorts of small bumps are easily swallowed. On some turns the car may roll a little, but this is all within acceptable limits. If we talk about sound insulation, then, like Solaris, it is greatly lacking. This is probably hallmark all vehicles in this class. Another huge disadvantage of the Aveo is its rear drum brakes. We do not argue, of course, it is necessary to save, but not on your own safety, it's time to switch to disks. The next minus we note is incomprehensible information about car clearance. Official sources claim 160 mm clearance, but there is some rubber front overhang. This overhang hides 30 millimeters, as a result, 130 millimeters remain.

Perhaps the biggest plus of the Aveo is its cost. The price of its basic version starts from 444 thousand rubles. But in this configuration there is no air conditioning and automatic window lifting, but there is an audio system. In the next configuration, which costs 487 thousand rubles, front power windows and air conditioning are already appearing. If we add an automatic transmission here, then the price of the car will increase to 520 thousand rubles. Well, the most top-of-the-range equipment, with a manual gearbox with cruise control, air conditioning, power windows on all windows and alloy wheels will cost 523 thousand. You will get the same with a machine gun for 556 thousand rubles.

Summarizing, one can see that Hyundai car Solaris won our battle by a wide margin. As you can see, the Chevrolet Aveo has not gained enough pluses, but it has enough minuses, these are ground clearance, rear brakes and lack of climate control. His opponent's disadvantage is a four-speed automatic and a higher price with the maximum configuration. But at the same time, it should be noted that the most complete Hyundai Solaris even has something that will never be supplied to Chevrolet Aveo.
