A.M.G. is a division of the Stuttgart-based automaker. Since 2007, the sub-brand has been completely absorbed by the auto giant, which, on the one hand, made it possible to expand its capabilities for preparing cars, but, on the other hand, significantly reduced its independence in decision-making.

The company was originally created by two former Mercedes engineers who worked in the sports department and were involved in the development of the 300 SE sports engine in 1967. Since then, the AMG nameplate has become synonymous with fast and powerful Mercedes models so adored by the creators of this company. Their names were Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. Accordingly, the initial letters of their surnames formed the beginning of the abbreviation, "AM", while "G" was added from the name of the city of Grossaspach (Großaspach), which is located near Stuttgart, where the first founder of the company was born.

The answers to the following three questions can be combined into one. Mercedes attaches AMG nameplates only if the engineers from Affalterbach have done their magic on the car. In the modification of the Mercedes-AMG GT S, the Germans equip the new sports car with a forced version of the same engine, which is already capable of 510 hp. power at 6250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 1750 - 4750 rpm. As a checkpoint, the same "robot" is used, with which maximum speed movement of the sports car will be 310 km / h, the starting acceleration time will be reduced to 3.8 seconds, and the average consumption will increase to 9.4 liters.

The Mercedes-AMG GT supercar is built on a spatial structure with a front engine and a rear gearbox. The distribution of the mass of the car along the axes is 47:53 in favor of the stern, and the thrust to the drive axle is transmitted through a lightweight carbon fiber cardan. In the basic modification of the Mercedes-AMG GT is equipped with a rear mechanical self-locking differential, which in the "S" modification is replaced by an active differential with electronic control. It takes 5.7 seconds to accelerate from standstill to “hundreds”, its peak is at 250 km / h, and fuel consumption does not exceed 9.4 liters.

In terms of design, the “hot” modifications of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and GLE 63 S are not much different from standard crossover: independent suspension both axles with pneumatic elements and adaptive electric power steering (but only with sport settings).
