Fuel filter Renault Duster 2.0 gasoline. Where is the fuel filter located on a Renault Duster? liter diesel engines

Replacing the Renault Duster fuel filter is not a complicated procedure and is not often required. Today we will talk about all the features of the replacement using an example. Renault Duster from gasoline engine volume of 2 liters. According to the manufacturer's regulations, replacement must be carried out every 120 thousand kilometers. The filter itself is not located under the bottom and not even in the gas tank, like most cars, but under the hood (marked with a red arrow in the photo). This arrangement is very convenient and does not require a pit or overpass to replace.

Naturally, before replacing the filter, it is necessary to relieve pressure. Otherwise everything engine compartment your Duster will be splashed with gasoline. Therefore, we simply turn off the fuel pump located in the gas tank. To do this, set the rear seat cushion in a vertical position. Raise the hatch cover. Use a slotted screwdriver to pry out the wire block retainer. Disconnect the connector from the fuel module cover connector.

Start the engine and let it run for Idling to a stop, due to the complete depletion of fuel. Then turn on the starter for 2-3 seconds. After that, the pressure in the fuel system will be completely relieved.

Now you can start replacing the filter itself. It is located under the hood right side on a prominent place. Press the screwdriver on the tube tip retainer. Remove the tip of the outlet tube from the filter fitting.

Similarly, remove the tip of the inlet pipe from the filter fitting. Using the “10” head, loosen the filter clamp bolt. Take the filter out of the clamp.

Since fuel remains in the filter, we drain it into a previously prepared container.

Install the new fuel filter in reverse order. The arrow on the filter housing must point in the direction of fuel flow (toward the rear of the vehicle).

After installing the filter, do not forget to connect the fuel pump. Turn on the ignition, and if you hear a characteristic hum under the rear seat, then the fuel pump is working. After creating the necessary pressure, the pump subsides. Look carefully at the connections of the fuel filter fittings, there should not be any leaks or drops of gasoline.

As for the fuel filter on the 1.6 liter engine, its official replacement is not provided. It is located in the fuel module inside the gas tank, complete with the fuel pump. In the event of a fuel pump failure, the entire fuel module is changed, in which the new filter will be located.

On Renault Duster cars with 1.6 and 2.0 engines, fuel modules with a built-in fuel filter are installed, the replacement of which is not provided by the manufacturer. On a Renault Duster car with a 2.0 engine, a fuel filter is additionally installed in engine compartment, which, in accordance with the regulations Maintenance must be changed every 120 thousand kilometers.

Renault Duster fuel filter replacement operations

Fuel filter installed in the engine compartment on the right side. The fuel in the power system is under pressure. Therefore, before replacing the filter, it is necessary to relieve the pressure in the system.
To do this, you need to raise back seat. Open the hatch of the fuel pump

and unscrewing the screw with a screwdriver, disconnect the contacts from the pump.

Next, you need to start the car and let it work out all the gasoline in the fuel supply system. After that, you can proceed to the direct replacement of the fuel filter with Renault Duster. We press the lock with a screwdriver and remove the gas line from the filter fitting.

and remove the filter.

Before that, pay attention to how the fuel filter was installed on the car. The arrow indicating the direction of the flow of gasoline in the gas line on the newly installed filter must match the previously installed one.

Renault Duster engines are unpretentious in terms of fuel quality, and can run on both gasoline and solarium. It should be noted that the manufacturer installs the fuel filter once for the entire life of the car. It will not need to be changed, no matter what fuel the car is running on. But there are situations when this element fails and must be replaced. With this work, each owner of Renault Duster can handle it himself, following the recommendations that will be given in the article.

In the video, what should be a fuel filter, but in fact a “dummy”, as they say WATCH ALL:

Fuel filter location on Renault Duster

Under the hood, the Duster does not have a fuel filter, there is a dummy (!!!)

All Renault Duster engines have a fuel filter only in the fuel pump., this is a mesh filter. Duster owners from our community strongly recommend that you install a full-fledged fuel filter in the engine compartment. In its place is a dummy, which must be replaced with a filter. By the way, a filter is installed on Logan under the hood!

Installing an additional fuel filter

VAZ filter instead of a plug - business for five minutes, and as a result you are calm about the nozzles

Bosch filter instead of a blank

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the pipe clamps and unscrew the bolt securing the element to the car body with a hexagon. Then the nozzles are disconnected and the filter (dummy) is removed. Then it must be replaced with a new one and installed in the reverse order of disassembly.

You can embed the filter in the niche of the fuel pump

If you need to change the filter located under the rear sofa, then you must first fold the seat and remove the small hatch. So there will be a terminal and pipes that supply power and fuel to the filter. Relieve pressure before work fuel system. To do this, disconnect the power supply to the filter, start the engine and wait until it stalls on its own. Then the filter housing is unscrewed and the element is dismantled. Further, fuel is drained from it, and the element is replaced with a new one. After that, the car is assembled in the opposite order to disassembly.

Why does the filter get clogged?

Filter clogging can occur on vehicles with different types power units. This happens due to refueling a car with low-quality fuel, in which there are foreign particles. It happens that just one refueling with gasoline is enough for the filter to fail.

The use of diesel fuel for summer in cold period. It will turn into a thick mixture under the influence of low temperatures, which will damage the porous surfaces of the filter. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to fill in fuel according to the season.

There are also some signs that will indicate the need to replace the filter element. This:

  1. Unstable work power unit at idle or when the accelerator pedal is pressed hard.
  2. The engine will not run.
  3. The motor will stall.

Also, evidence of the need to replace the filter may be that the car. This indicates that the fuel enters the combustion chamber in insufficient quantities, and the engine does not receive the required volume of the mixture.
