Penalty for driving on tram tracks of the same direction. Is it possible to ride on tram tracks: rules and nuances When can I ride on rails

Even professional drivers often have problems associated with the ability to move on tram rails.

Many drivers do not know the exact answer to the question of whether it is possible to drive on tram tracks in accordance with the rules of the road.

To understand this, one should consider in detail the nuances of movement along the tram tracks.

Tram tracks do not belong to the carriageway, they are considered a separate element of the road.

According to the traffic rules, movement on them is allowed, but only under certain conditions:

  1. The 2020 traffic rules allow driving on tram tracks in the same direction only if it is not possible to move along the lanes of the road. But when moving a car on rails, it should not interfere with the movement of the tram in any way.
  2. In the case when the tram rails are level with the road.
  3. When the tram tracks are on the left.
  4. When all lanes are busy.

Cases when traffic on the tram tracks is prohibited:

Traveling on tram rails can be used for the following actions:

  • turn left;
  • moving straight;
  • turn.

When leaving the rails, you always need to remember important rule- the car should not interfere with the movement of the tram.

Departure to lanes for public transport in the same direction is prohibited if the corresponding signs are present.

For example, along the path of a tramway, there may be a solid line or the location of the signs “Lane” and “Entry prohibited”.

In this case, you need to be guided by the instructions of the established signs and move only along the dedicated lanes.

If a solid line is drawn along the tram tracks, this means that it cannot be crossed. It marks the edge of the carriageway, and even if traffic on the tram tracks of the same direction is allowed on one side, you can get a fine for crossing this line.

To separate the adjacent carriageway, separate tram tracks are used - this is a structurally distinguished element of the road.

Separate tram tracks are not intended for the movement of trackless vehicles.

The ability to drive on the tram tracks of the same direction according to the 2020 SDA is limited by certain conditions. The rails of the same direction are not intended for the movement of trackless vehicles.

Location of tram lines when traffic is allowed:

  • to the left of the roadway;
  • on the same level as the road.

But only in such cases:

  • when all other lanes are occupied;
  • a detour is performed;
  • performing a left turn or U-turn, in accordance with clause 8.5 of the SDA.

If there are no other restrictions for a left turn or U-turn and these maneuvers can be performed on any section of the road where there are no prohibitions.

It is equally important to consider whether it is allowed to use tram tracks in the opposite direction for traffic. The answer will be unequivocal - it is not allowed.

In accordance with the rules of the road, oncoming tram rails only allowed to cross. Cars cannot drive on the tracks of passing and on the tracks of oncoming traffic.

Such actions can provoke a serious accident, traffic jam, interfere with the movement of trams.

But there are exceptions to all rules. There are cases in which you can ride on tram tracks in the opposite direction:

  1. During the repair work on lanes of the same direction. At the same time, traffic police officers organize a detour along the oncoming traffic lanes and can use the tram rails of the opposite direction.
  2. Passage on rails of the opposite direction is possible in case of a major accident. In such cases, traffic police officers are required to independently regulate the movement of traffic flows.

Sometimes the driver has to drive onto the rails of the opposite direction, having good reasons for this, for example, when he is taking a person to the hospital, and there are no other ways to detour.

In this case, it is necessary to present evidence during the trial. If the outcome is positive, the violator faces only a monetary administrative penalty.

The amount of the fine for driving on tram tracks directly depends on how serious the violation turned out to be:

Traffic rules allow left turns across public transport lines.

Before turning around, you should check the absence of a marking line on either side of the tracks. This action should only be performed at an angle of 90 degrees.

Otherwise, traffic police officers may regard this as a check into the oncoming lane. For these actions, a fine of 5,000 rubles or withdrawal of rights is provided.

Overtaking on tram lanes is prohibited even if it is movement on rails of the same direction..

Since this maneuver is associated with the arrival of the oncoming line in any case. At the same time, traffic rules allow you to get ahead of passing transport when other lanes are occupied.

Crossing traffic

In some situations, it is allowed to cross the track at an intersection that is not regulated:

  1. The tram and the car were moving in the same direction to the intersection, while the tracks are on the right side of the motorist, and the tram will go in a straight line.
  2. The tram and the car are moving in parallel in the same direction, the line is on the right side of the driver and both will turn left.
  3. The line is on the right, the car is moving in a straight line, and the tram is going to turn left.

Thus, the rules of the road allow driving on tram tracks subject to certain conditions. It is also allowed to turn left and turn.

But, when a motorist drives onto the rails, he should not interfere with the movement of public transport.

For non-compliance with the rules of movement on the tram tracks, penalties are provided. The penalty will depend on the severity of the violation.

Rails - Seeing "running away" - a lot will pass by, you risk missing the opportunity to move in your life.

Walk on rails - you missed your chance, and your attempts to turn back time or catch up with it will be fruitless.

Sitting on the rails, striking on the rails is a waste of time and energy.

Laying, working with rails - you pave the way for others. Do not expect to use the fruits of your labor yourself.

Interpretation of dreams from

This question causes a lot of controversy, even among experienced motorists. Many of them are sure that it is absolutely forbidden. And there are no extenuating circumstances. In fact, there are circumstances permitted by traffic rules that allow unimpeded movement in the same direction.

Allowed Cases

The current traffic rules of the Russian Federation indicate the following situations in which movement on tram rails is not punished:

The paths are on the left

The rails are at the level of the roadway,

All lanes of passing traffic are occupied,

The tram rails and the road run in the same direction.

In all other cases, in accordance with the traffic rules of the Russian Federation, traffic on the tram tracks of the same direction is prohibited.

Existing bans

The Rules make it clear that the location of the tram lines is of great importance. On rails located below the roadway or above, the car does not have the right to drive. If there is a track, then it should be perceived by the driver as a dividing strip, which, as you know, is forbidden to cross.

Also, the taboo is imposed on the movement on the tram tracks of the same direction, if they pass to the right of the moving one. vehicle.

It is forbidden to cross the intersection if there is a sign 5.15.1 or another sign - 5.15.2 in front of it.

Some concessions

They really are. And they relate to maneuvers. So, for example, traffic is allowed on tram tracks of the same direction (2016-2017, SDA) when:

Making a left turn

Crossing the street at the crossroads

detour,

U-turn.

The last maneuver is allowed in the absence of a double solid between the tram tracks and sign 4.1.1, which prescribes movement only straight ahead. And also there should not be an obstacle to the promotion tram car and exit on the rails of the opposite destination.

A detour is permitted only at a high density of passing traffic. Most often, if the distances between vehicles are minimal to maintain safety on the road, making the car move along the tram tracks of the same direction for possible overtaking, it is unlikely that it will be possible to return to your lane (as indicated in the SDA, paragraph 11.4). Therefore, paragraph 9.6 of the current Rules slightly expands the easing of paragraph 11.4, the part that concerns the impossibility of returning to the lane occupied earlier. It consists in allowing the use of tram tracks running with the roadway in the same direction. Nevertheless, no one cancels the rule that rail transport has an advantage over a car. Consequently, these reliefs can only be applied without interfering with the movement of the tram car.

Note to the driver

It is strictly forbidden to make maneuvers on the tram rails located on the right hand of the motorist. Non-compliance is fraught with serious consequences.

In places with heavy traffic, special markings are applied on the roadway and special prohibitions are set. road signs. That is, on such a segment there will always be:

Signpost with the words "Lane",

A sign prohibiting the entry of any vehicle,

A solid white line on the pavement.

The driver must understand that the tram track is not an additional lane for the movement of vehicles.

Any maneuver must be accompanied by turn signals, which turn off only after its completion.

Traffic police officers recommend paying attention to making turns. If there is no special sign, then the maneuver must take place at right angles. There are times when drivers ignore this and turn while moving along the rails. Traffic police inspectors regard this as driving on tram rails in the opposite direction, which, of course, is taken for driving into the opposite direction and is punishable by a fine of 1,500 rubles or (less often) loss of a driver's license.

If marked

On some urban highways, there may be a continuous lane marking. This topic raises many questions in driving schools and disputes in specialized forums.

On the one hand, according to the tram tracks of the same direction, it is not prohibited, and on the other hand, as indicated in the same rule in paragraph 1.1, it is impossible to cross the continuous one.

In response to repeated requests to clarify the situation, the traffic police officials officially reported that this marking line shows the edge of the roadway. for ignoring these requirements prescribed by the marking of the roadway, this year they amount to one thousand and one and a half thousand rubles.

There are situations when tram tracks are isolated from the roadway with a curb. Traffic rules equate it to a solid line.

maneuvers at the crossroads

Each driver must remember that traffic is allowed on the tram tracks of the same direction only if all lanes of the roadway are occupied. Moreover, this only applies to parallel movement.

Crossing the tram track is not allowed in the following episodes:

The vehicle moves with the tram in the same direction, the latter being on the right of the vehicle, public transport, if any, continues to move straight;

When moving in one direction, the tram going to the right of the car and the vehicle will make a left maneuver;

The tram, which is on the right hand of the driver of the car, can make a left turn, while the car continues straight ahead.

Sometimes on city highways in front of the intersection you can see signs 5.10, 5.15.1, 5.15.2 informing about traffic in lanes or about a road with reverse traffic. In this case, penalties for leaving the rails will be mandatory. When entering a road with a sign, it must be taken into account that the sign indicates traffic only on the extreme right lane of the roadway. Rebuilding can be done only if the advising signs or special road markings allow such movement.

Left turn

According to the traffic rules, this maneuver is allowed only if the following conditions are met:

There are no markings on the road

The tram track is located to the right of the vehicle moving in the outer lane.

The driver must remember that this turn must be made in accordance with clause 8.5 of the SDA. That is, in the absence of signs 5.15.1, 5.15.2 and markings 1.18 at the turn, the tram rails running to the left and on a par with the roadway allow the car to turn left from them. The main thing is not to forget that the car should not be an obstacle for the tram car.

Penalties

Many violations involving the movement of tram tracks in the same direction are considered very rude. But there is no provision for revoking a driver's license.

The most modest of them is the intersection of a continuous strip separating the rails from highway. In accordance with paragraph 12.16 of the SDA, this driver's mistake is punishable by a fine of 500 rubles. A fine for stopping on the rails will also be collected from the violator, making movement along the tram tracks of the passing direction. Today it is one and a half thousand rubles.

Secondary and subsequent non-compliance with the Rules of the Road may result in the loss of a driver's license for a period of at least a year. If this violation was recorded by a video camera, the fine increases to five thousand rubles.

Accidents on tram lines

The main thing to remember: Transport Department locality will recover through the court from the perpetrator of the incident lost profits. After all, while waiting for traffic police inspectors, parsing, trams will not run along the route. And this is a loss for the electric transport fleet. They can amount to tens of thousands of rubles. Courts, by the way, almost always take the side of management representatives. Therefore, the car must be removed from the tracks as soon as possible.

Even if the traffic on the passing tram tracks provoked an incident in which the tram was not involved, it is necessary to draw a diagram of the accident as soon as possible, take photographs from different angles, record the telephone numbers of witnesses and remove the vehicle from the rails. Then both the victim and the culprit must come to the nearest traffic police department to draw up and sign the protocol. Or, if there are no discrepancies between the participants in the accident, you can resort to the increasingly popular design scheme traffic accident according to the European Protocol.

If an accident happened with the participation of a tram, then the driver can be guilty only in two cases:

The car continued to move to a prohibiting traffic light,

The tram was leaving the depot at that moment.

In all other cases, the driver must remember that any permitted maneuver on the tram rails must not interfere with the movement of electric vehicles.

The car is not designed to drive on tram rails, but in the city, no, no, yes, and you have to do it. Let's see how best to deal with this task.

ACROSS...

In this case, you care about two things: the smoothness of the ride and the safety of the suspension. Depending on the speed, the process can be divided into four or five stages.

1. We slow down in front of the tracks (it is better not to press the clutch). There is nothing unusual in this action, we only advise you to pay attention: when braking, the car "nods". This means that the weight of the car is transferred forward. (Photo 1.)

2. Release the brake pedal right in front of the obstacle. Not earlier and not later. Why at this very moment? To take advantage of the front wheel load that occurs when you release the brake, the car's hood will lift up. Even if you did not have time to fully extinguish the speed, the pedal should be released. Otherwise, when an obstacle is encountered by wheels blocked brake pads, the impact will be very strong. By releasing the brake in time, you will remove excess weight from the front wheels (unload the suspension) and allow them to freely roll over bumps.

3. Squeeze out the clutch. This can be done while releasing the brake pedal to increase the smoothness of the ride, but only if the speed is low. Use the moment to turn on low gear: first or second. If you missed the crossing and fly over the tracks at high speed, do not press the clutch pedal, otherwise the car may suddenly skid on bumps. (Photo 3: left foot depresses the clutch pedal, right foot is between the pedals, right hand on the gearshift lever, second gear is engaged.)

4. Smoothly release the clutch and move over bumps on very low gas. If you do this in second gear, then professional drivers will call this a “pull” movement. In first gear, you can drive at the same speed with the clutch half depressed, adding a little more gas, but you can’t “gas” much. (Photo 2: car in the middle of the cobblestones. Photo 4: rev counter shows 1200 rpm.)

5. We add gas as soon as the front wheels touch the asphalt. An exception should be made only for cars with a very low landing, so as not to damage rear bumper or "skirt" stern.

...AND ALONG

Now let's drive along the rails, or rather, right along them. On congested city highways, this sometimes has to be done. Recall that the Rules of the Road allow you to drive only along the passing tracks (located on the left) between intersections and on the condition that you do not interfere with the tram.

When driving on rails, your concern is a smooth ride with the indispensable safety of tires. This kind of practice is useful, as it is not only a way to extend the life of the suspension parts of the car, but also the ability to gain “wheel feeling”, thanks to which you can confidently drive over flyovers, more precisely, avoid obstacles and park close to the curb. However, the movement on the iron tracks has contraindications. The groove of the tram rail, which prevents the car from going off the tracks at sharp bends, often has a sharp edge, like a blade. There are always such curved knives sticking out of the ground on turns, they can also come across on straight sections if the rails are old. When driving on tram tracks, the driver must be very careful, although it is not too difficult to visually assess the degree of deterioration of the rails.

When crossing paths at different angles at intersections, avoid braking and sudden acceleration with slipping: it is too easy to cut a tire. But even where the rails do not give reason to fear for the safety of the wheels, one must be prepared for a decrease in the effectiveness of the brakes, especially in winter, when the bare metal is covered with an ice crust: the car will slide, and even the spikes will not help.

In order to quickly “catch” the rail with the left front wheel, we advise you to mark and remember a landmark on the wiper blade. This will also come in handy for an accurate check-in on overpasses. (Photo 5: the arrow marks the intersection of the rail and the "wiper" brush).

Driving on the tram tracks for many drivers, for completely incomprehensible reasons, remains terra incognito. Just a few points of traffic rules cause a lot of myths, here are the most common:

  • tram tracks are no different from the road and you can drive along them as you please in a passenger car;
  • tram tracks, even in the same direction, are considered oncoming traffic, and driving on them is punishable by the deprivation of a driver's license;
  • it is necessary to distinguish between oncoming and passing rails, on the latter - movement is allowed.

It is noteworthy that traffic rules in terms of driving on tram tracks have not changed significantly and drastically for many years, these are the basics that are taught in the very first driving lessons!

One way or another, in their daily practice, everyone, without exception, has to visit the section of the road intended for trams, including the opposite direction, the question is how correctly this will be done.

So, is it possible to go on the rails, in what cases it is allowed, when it is forbidden, what the traffic rules and fines for violation say about this.

The driver may consider tram rails as part of the road only if the following conditions are met:

  • are located to the left of the vehicle;
  • not separated by a border, green spaces;
  • located on the same level as the road.

If some condition is violated, the driver cannot use them to move or perform maneuvers, even if there are no signs and markings that regulate this process.

By the way, in small towns, in almost all places, the driver can be on the rails without violating traffic rules. In metropolitan areas and large cities where a complex road traffic, very often there are options when the tram tracks are artificially separated from the road, or for them, especially at busy intersections, there is a bridge - an interchange. This significantly reduces the accident rate, speeds up the traffic flow, and optimizes traffic.

What penalties are provided for the transfer of control of the vehicle to a person in a state of intoxication

Movement on passing roads

Driving on tram tracks in the same direction is legal in the following cases:

  • U-turn, turn left through the tram tracks, when the signs and markings do not prescribe to take the extreme left position on the road in the designated lane. The driver has to prepare for the maneuver, waiting for a traffic light or passing the oncoming traffic, and for some time move along the passing rails.
  • Leading the flow of a car or avoiding an obstacle, if this does not interfere with the rail vehicle.

So, the driver can drive on passing rails when all traffic lanes in his direction are occupied, wants to overtake the vehicle (even to overtake twice or more) when it is necessary to turn left or turn around from the extreme left position.

You should always pay attention to the markings and signs that indicate how many lanes are on the road, from which it is allowed to make maneuvers.

When allowed

Traffic rules unequivocally interpret the tram tracks of the opposite direction as an oncoming lane known to every motorist.

Is overloading a car dangerous not only for others but also for the driver?

Accordingly, the driver of a trackless vehicle is prohibited from driving onto tram tracks in the opposite direction, except in specially stipulated cases:

  • When making a left turn, U-turn, if the signs are not prohibited. At the same time, along the rails of the same direction, the trajectory of movement can start smoothly, go diagonally, gradually taking more and more to the left, but on the opposite rails, the correct trajectory will resemble a right angle. The driver must stand on the oncoming rails perpendicular to them, passing the flow of cars. If the position of the car does not form an angle of 90 degrees (or approximately) on the oncoming rails, the traffic police inspector will perceive this as an oncoming traffic and has the right to withdraw the VU.
  • When making a detour of an obstacle, if it is impossible to do it in your direction. The reason cannot be a traffic jam or a standing public transport, if it does not have an alarm and an emergency stop sign is not set.

Detour around an obstacle, a turn through the tram tracks outside the intersection and a left turn are three conditions when the vehicle can be on the rails of the opposite direction.

U-turn, turn, overtake

On city streets, you often have to cross tram tracks in order to make a U-turn, a left turn, or overtake.

Parking on the sidewalk lawn in a handicapped area - have the money ready for the fine?

A right turn from the tracks located to the left of the vehicle is prohibited, it must be made from the extreme right position on the road.

U-turn and left turn on the rails is allowed if the signs and markings allow it.

It is important to take into account two points:

  • do not interfere with the tram, for this a fine of 500 rubles is due;
  • on the rails of the opposite direction, if possible, put the car perpendicular, at right angles to the tracks, otherwise a fine of 5000 rubles. or withdrawal of VU up to six months, again one year.

Overtaking on passing tracks is possible if there are no signs prohibiting overtaking, there is no interference with the movement of trams, driving onto oncoming rails is excluded.

At crossroads or straight roads with tram tracks, for overtaking, turning or turning around, first of all, one must be guided by signs and markings, questions of priority, then monitor the position of the car on the section of the road in the opposite direction.

Traffic through an intersection with rails

An intersection with tram tracks can be regulated (equipped with a working traffic light) and unregulated.

On regulated rail transport, regardless of the trajectory of movement, it always has a priority right over a car.

On an unregulated tram, it is always the right to pass first, except for one case when it approaches the intersection along a secondary road and its actions fall under sign 2.4.

Overdue OSAGO - prepare money for a fine?

It is worth noting that a tram may have a separate traffic light or be equipped with an additional section, but for the driver of a trackless vehicle it practically does not play any role, since the operation algorithm is consistent with a conventional traffic light.

road accidents

In an accident on the tram tracks, two scenarios are possible:

  • If there are only cars among the participants, the collision occurred on the rails.

Here, the analysis of the incident occurs in the same way as if the accident happened on a regular road. The traffic police officer assesses the location of the car, analyzes the situation - who is the culprit, interference, etc. The issue of oncoming and passing directions on the tracks is resolved in accordance with the traffic rules (by signs, markings, rails).

  • If the participants were a tram and a car.

In such an accident, both a car and a tram can be to blame, it all depends on the nature of the collision.

The tram driver is guilty in the following cases:

  1. when passing through an intersection, he began to move to a prohibiting traffic light signal;
  2. left the territory of the depot and did not give way to the car;
  3. went off the rails and hit the car.

What tinting is allowed for front windows according to GOST

In all other cases, the driver of the car is to blame.

Accidents on tram or railway tracks (at a crossing), or stopping on them, have their own unpleasant features. So, additional sanctions may be applied to the culprit - the Ministry or the Department of Transport of the region has the right to recover from him the lost profit (money that could be earned during downtime).

Punishment: warning, fine, deprivation

The Code of Administrative Offenses clearly assigns punishments under articles relating to traffic violations on rails, in 2020 without changes:

  • 500 r. or a warning - leaving on passing tram tracks, separated from the carriageway by solid markings or ignoring signs that require traffic in lanes.
  • 1000 r. - 1500 r. - left turn or U-turn in violation of markings and signs.
  • 1500 r. - interfering with the tram, stopping on the rails, driving on them in the opposite direction in order to bypass the obstacle.
  • 5000 rubles, or the withdrawal of the VU from 4 to 6 months - leaving on the rails of the opposite direction, for the second - deprivation for one year - Art. 12.15.4.

It should be distinguished how the violation of the exit to the oncoming lane was recorded, with the help of a photo only a fine of 5000 rubles is due, by the inspector personally - up to deprivation.
