In any case, if you are counting on a dynamic ride, you should not trust electronic gear shifting. If you are not lazy and put the gear selector in mechanical mode, the CX-7 appears to be much more sporty than it seemed before ...

Mazda combines successful dynamics with decent behavior where the asphalt ends. Four-wheel drive - or rather, front-wheel drive with elements of a complete crossover inherited from the Mazda6 MPS. As soon as the front wheels “enter” on a slippery surface, the differential will instantly transfer part of the moment to rear wheels and they will help those in front.
