What is meekness? We can say this: meekness is the slowness of the irritable part of the soul in its evil impulses, which, as a rule, arise due to earthly interests. Meekness is not taught in universities. It cannot be obtained in the laboratory. Meekness is a gift from God. In Greek prautes (prautes) - a sign of one who is submissive to the Word of God. The Greek word translated "meek" means "gentle, considerate, courteous."
“Meekness is humble devotion to God, united with faith, overshadowed by Divine grace” - / Ignaty Brianchaninov /.
Meek - in Greek, it is praus (praus), which characterizes a person who always owns his feelings and temper. He knows when to be angry and when not to be angry. He patiently endures the harm done to him, but is always ready to help. Such qualities are characteristic only of people whose heart Christ commands. It implies self-mastery, which makes it possible to have these qualities. Biblical meekness should not be confused with laziness. Meekness should not be associated with weakness of character. Biblical meekness is combined with great spiritual and moral strength. The people called meek in Scripture had great will power. An example is Moses, who is called: “the meekest of all people on earth” - / Numbers 12.3 /.
A meek person will be so firm in standing up for the truth that, if necessary, he will go to death for its sake. The martyrs were meek, but not weak in spirit people.
“Meek is a synonym for meek, i.e. accepting difficult conditions without grumbling, without resistance - an unfair attitude towards oneself. Not showing hostility, anger. Easily inferior to others. Submissive - obedient, humble ”- / Dictionary Synonym /.
Meekness is an essential Christian quality. A meek person is gentle and yielding. It's a pleasure to do business with such a person. Nevertheless, as the wise King Solomon notes, a “soft-meek” tongue breaks a bone” - /Prov.25.15/. Meekness is a wonderful quality that combines gentleness of character with firmness of spirit. Which is characteristic of meekness.
As Dio Chrysostom, the Greek theologian, says: “Meekness is a sign of great strength; but to be meek, one must have a noble, courageous, and very lofty soul. Do you really think that it is not enough to have the strength to receive insults and not be indignant? The one who calls such an affection for one’s neighbor even courage will not sin.”
True meekness can be found only by the person to whom the light of Christ has shone, who has understood the completely new structure of the supernatural world, who has known what the true, God-pleasing power is.
Therefore, holy meekness is not only a gentle flowering of the Christian spirit, but also the central virtue of a true Christian, in which the basic law of the supernatural order is reflected. It shines with the secret of the supernatural power of the One Who said: “Learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart” - / Matt. 11.29/. The meekness of the Savior, in essence, testifies to the strength of His spirit, which allowed Him to calmly endure insults and insults addressed to him.
Meekness embodies strength, the source of which is greater love for others than for oneself. Meekness is a sign of great strength; in order to be meek, one must have a noble, courageous, and very lofty soul. If our teacher Christ had this, He was meek and humble in heart, then we, His disciples, should be as meek as He. And to be meek, we need to have strength.
Christ said: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you" - /Acts 1.8/. Without this strength, we cannot be meek?! Meekness is strength under the control of the Holy Spirit. And another definition: "Meekness is to have great power/opportunity/volume, but use only a little." Meekness is an indispensable and necessary virtue, which should be inherent in a truly Christian heart; on this basis - meekness - Christians should be distinguished from other people.
Meekness, meanwhile, appears in various forms. Thus, Christian meekness is meekness of mind, or faith in Divine Revelation, when a person with infantile simplicity accepts the word of God and makes it the foundation of his inner and outer life. Christian meekness is meekness of the heart, i.e., obedience, when a person, rejecting his own will, with all readiness submits to the will of God and holyly fulfills the commandments of the Heavenly Father; keeps the impure impulses of his anger and rage, maintains a good disposition towards enemies and offenders, forgiving the offenses inflicted on him.
Christian meekness is meekness of the mouth and tongue, or humble silence, when a person, fleeing idle talk and shameful talk, contrary to Christian love, keeps reverent and saving silence. Christian meekness is the meekness of all actions and all behavior, or brotherly love, when a person treats everyone modestly, friendly and respectfully in all cases and with everyone.
From a Muslim source: “It must be said right away that restraint and meekness are qualities inherent in people with a wide heart and soul, in no case should be confused with cowardice and weakness.”
Meekness does not mean weakness. Meekness is the ability to control one's feelings, emotions, impulses in obedience to God's Word.
“There are many people in the world who do not show external signs of anger as a result of powerlessness and fear. But as soon as they become the owners of power and influence, they turn into completely different people, not like those who they were before. In this case, no one will be able to hide from their anger, anger and revenge, even the former offenders will get it. The commander of the faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), said about such people: “He who is silent and inactive, being weak, and takes revenge, being strong, cannot be called restrained and meek. Such a person can only be called one who forgives, being strong being in meekness ”- / Gurar al-hikam /.
Meekness is a quality of character. A meek person has a calm and gentle nature. He is usually quiet, modest, humble, loving, indulgent, self-possessed and long-suffering. However, this does not mean that he is sluggish, compliant and weak-willed. To be meek requires a strong will and great spiritual strength. Meekness is usually contrasted with intemperance and irritability.
To be meek means to shorten yourself, to stop yourself at the moment when you want to return evil for evil, to eliminate the injustice shown towards you personally or towards people close to you. Meekness is the absence of irritability, evil, outbursts of anger in a person’s behavior. Sparks of anger go out in a meek person like a match dropped into water. The believer has reason to need meekness, and he consciously seeks to possess this quality. The main reason is that the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, left us an example of perfect meekness so that we could follow this example. He (Christ) says: "For I have given you an example that you should do the same" - /John 13.15/.
People by nature have different personalities. Some servants of God find it easier to be meek than others. However, the fruit of God's spirit, which includes meekness, needs to be cultivated by all Christians. Paul lovingly exhorted Timothy: "Progress ... strive for meekness" - / 1 Tim.6.11 /. The word "strive" implies effort. In one translation of the Bible, this call sounds like “strive” - / translation by V. Kuznetsov /. If you make an effort to meditate on the wonderful examples from the Word of God, these examples can forever be imprinted in your memory, "grafted" on you. They will shape and guide you /James 1.21/.
How good we are at showing meekness will be seen by how we treat others. “Who among you is wise and understanding? asks the disciple Jacob. Let him show his deeds with exemplary behavior with meekness, which is inherent in wisdom” - /James 3.13/. "And henceforth remind them ... to be prudent, treating all people with all meekness" - /Tit.3.1,2/. Imitate me, as I imitate Christ, ”wrote the Apostle Paul - / 1 Corinthians 11.1 /. It's not easy. However, we can all show meekness if we make an effort. But willpower alone is not enough. Why? Godly meekness is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The more we succumb to the influence of the active power of God, the more this fruit will be noticeable in us. Only in this case we will be able to relate "to all people with all meekness" - /Tit.3.2/. A meek spirit and meek behavior are conducive to Christianity. We are commanded to imitate the greatest example of Christ's meekness; meekness brings with it the reward of a calm and contented disposition, and the blessings that accompany it. The meek are always joyful and cheerful, the meek learn the right paths and are led along them, they are satisfied with bread and blessed with salvation. These are the duties that we should be reminded of.
“Truly, there is nothing stronger than her (meekness), there is nothing more powerful. She introduces our soul into a permanent peace, forcing her to strive for it, as if to a pier, and thus serves as a source of all comfort for us ”- / Dio Chrysostom /.

Each person has his own unique character warehouse, this is what makes us so different and interesting in our own way. There are people who are sociable, persistent and self-confident - these are the expressed qualities of extroverts. There are calm, meek and obsessed with their inner world - this is typical of introverts.

We will consider in detail the qualities of the second type of people - introverts. They are distinguished by meekness, love of knowledge and balanced actions.

How to determine your type of temperament?

The easiest way is to analyze your character. Here are some questions to help you:

  • Can you be alone for a long time and remain happy?
  • Are you afraid to take risks?
  • Are you empathetic (meaning the ability to empathize with another person on a mental level)?
  • Do you prefer not to conflict, but to find a compromise?
  • Can you listen carefully to your opponent?
  • Do you have several close people, but you don’t need more?

The more positive answers you get, the higher your degree of introversion. The less you are, the more you are an extrovert. If the positive and negative answers are equally divided, you are an ambivert - a unique personality that combines the features of both types.

The Eysenck temperament type test is a great way to analyze your character. Consists of 57 questions that should be answered quickly, that is, the first thing that came to mind.

Distinctive traits of an introvert

We list the main ones:

Of course, this is not all the features of an introvert. But if you find the listed properties in a person, he is most likely an introvert.

In general, there are fewer people who can be in harmony with themselves for a long time than those who need communication. That is why the calm behavior of introverts is so often incomprehensible to active extroverts.

However, this is not an obstacle to friendship and communication. There are people with similar interests in both camps. A smart extrovert understands when to leave his quiet friend alone to “recharge” with internal energy. And an introvert perfectly feels when it is better to remain silent and show his meekness and calmness inherent in him.

By the way, about meekness. This is a wonderful quality of character that correlates with calmness and a person.

Meekness: the meaning of the word

As mentioned earlier, meekness is more characteristic of modest introverts. But smart extroverts are not deprived of it either.

Meekness is the quality of a strong person who does not get upset, does not get angry over trifles, is not prone to resentment and revenge. He succeeds due to his kind and outgoing nature.

This is not a sign of weakness, as some people think. Well, what's the point of flashing a bright flame for any reason? A meek person understands this and treats many things with condescension and humor. Harmony reigns in the soul of such a person; he is not in danger of becoming a short-tempered neurotic.

Meekness helps a person to accept the world as it is. And also not to be offended by the cruelty and bad deeds of other people. After all, there are many things in the world that do not depend on a particular person. The ability to accept lightens the soul and does not fill the head with what cannot be changed.

Meekness: antonym

Pride is the opposite of meekness; exaggeration of their capabilities and merits many times over. A person subject to this vice considers himself superior to other people.

Pride is bad because it hinders the development of a person as a person. Such an individual remains at his stage of development; further growth and self-improvement are not available to him.

Also, an overly proud person has an overly high opinion of himself, and this is reflected in his attitude towards other people. He thinks only of himself, does not care about anyone and is not interested in others. The other person is very good at feeling disregard for himself and over time breaks the connection with the proud.

As a result, it turns out that from this quality there are only disappointments and problems. Therefore, a smart person, noticing the rudiments of pride in himself, gets rid of them in the fastest way.

The difference between dignity and pride

But dignity is inherent in a harmonious person. It has nothing to do with pride.

Dignity is oneself. Self-respect consists of self-esteem, which does not depend on the opinions of others and changing circumstances.

A person with self-respect:

  • respects both himself and other people;
  • does not lose courage in any, even the most critical situations;
  • does not depend on the opinions of other people;
  • is not afraid to apply his own in various fields.

Humility is a great human strength

When we talk about humility, for many, the fantasy draws the image of a person who agrees with fate, humiliated, going with the flow. Actually it is not.

Humility is the ability for conscious patience, a deep understanding of life by a person. It can be interpreted in two ways:

  • Like being humble towards yourself. This implies a more or less objective assessment of oneself, without exaggeration and belittling one's own merits.
  • As humility towards others. Equal attitude towards other people, acceptance of their point of view.

It seems to be quite easy to become a humble person. Actually it is very difficult. Because it requires getting rid of pride, which is characteristic of any individual.

Humility and meekness are qualities of character without which a person cannot live in harmony with himself and with the world around him. They are characteristic of a mature person who has passed a certain life path.

However, a person can try to learn it if he understands that exorbitant pride and unscrupulousness hinder inner growth.

What gives humility?

  • The ability to listen to anyone. Here it is also very important to listen submissively, that is, delving into, without getting annoyed, without thinking to yourself: “Well, when he (she) is already silent.” This attitude will not offend your opponent, and you will understand what the person is trying to convey to you. then decide whether it is important to you or not.
  • The ability to ask for forgiveness. It is sincere repentance for the deed and a conscious desire not to act in this way in the future.
  • "Vaccination" from vanity and boasting.

False Humility

And here it was not without a fly in the ointment in a barrel of honey ...

Often a person who wants to become humble falls into a trap. He chooses the model of behavior of a demonstratively humble person. For example, he begins to behave modestly in order to amuse his sense of self-importance. Here self-deception turns on: you behave humbly not in order to grow internally, but to draw attention to yourself as a good boy or as a “good” person.

How to become more meek and develop humility?

To understand what meekness, the meaning of the word, is truly possible only in practice.

1. Help people as much as you can.

2. Fight your pride.

3. Don't be arrogant towards others.

4. Respect the point of view of any person.

5. Do not verbally insult the interlocutor. An offensive word spoken in an emotional outburst often hurts more than an act.

6. Develop prudence. That is, first think, and then speak or act.

7. Have self-respect and not go to extremes. and too soft character - this is also not good. Adequate self-esteem is like a balance in balance.

Meekness in various religions. The Parable of the Buddha and the Elephant

Humanity, modesty and kindness are the most important Christian qualities. The Bible says that meekness is one of the virtues:

  • In the Old Testament, she is associated with Moses. Overcoming adversity and hardship, this man found meekness. "Moses was the meekest of all people on earth," says the Book of Numbers.
  • The New Testament speaks of the meekness and mercy of Jesus Christ. showed good qualities of character in action: taught humility, acceptance and various virtues.

Buddhism also considers meekness to be an important character trait. There is a well-known parable in which the Buddha, thanks to this quality, stopped the elephant.

How to achieve spiritual harmony?

Harmony with oneself is the most important component of the life of a modern person, which correlates with happiness. People subconsciously strive for such a calm and peaceful state. How to achieve it?

Humility and meekness are the qualities of a strong person who knows how to accept the surrounding reality and live in harmony with it.

In 1 Peter it says: “Let your adornment be not external weaving of hair, not golden headdresses or elegance in clothes, but a man hidden in the heart in the imperishable beauty of a meek and silent spirit, which is precious before God” (1 Peter 3:3-4). As we can see, meekness in the eyes of God is the incorruptible beauty of our spiritual man. It was the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ. And in the eyes of the Heavenly Father, it is a treasure. If a person is silent, then this does not mean that he gentle. This can rage in the heart! But if a person is not malicious, not vindictive, not irritable, not vindictive, these are signs meekness. "But can it be combined in one person?" you ask. Indeed, who among us can have all this? So, when we talk about meekness, we should also talk about how to achieve it. These qualities are not present in a person by themselves.

Let's pay attention: in order for an animal to work for a person, it must first be tamed. We, the people of the technical age, are already far from this, but many elders still know that the horse had to be ridden, accustomed to a saddle, collar, bridle, otherwise it would not serve. Our flesh is exactly the same: if it is not accustomed to spiritual work, if it is not tamed, then by itself it cannot serve God. Read two passages meekness what promises the Lord associates with her: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5). And the second passage from the non-canonical book of Jesus the son of Sirach: "My son! conduct your affairs with meekness, and you will be loved by a godly person.” (Sir.3:17).

Bliss of the meek

What is bliss meek? The Word says they will inherit the earth. “But when and where could the meek achieve anything?” - you ask. Rather, the aggressors inherit the land, or the arrogant achieve their goals. We all know very well that it is unlikely meek can achieve something. In the eyes of this world meekness considered a defect, even a weakness.

But if we look at the history of mankind, we will see that the predatory, warlike and bloodthirsty nations, which led people into fear, then always faded away, sometimes even the Lord completely destroyed them. There are many examples of this in the Bible. And peace-loving people, who valued the law and respected other people, eventually won. The word of God, of course, refers to the new earth and the new heaven. It says that the meek shall inherit the earth. Here on this earth meek You have to give up a lot, that's for sure.

Meekness is not weakness

However meekness is not a weakness, but on the contrary, rather, it is the strength to control oneself. The power of self-control, patience. A worldly person or even a Christian can be natural or carnal. It even happens that a person can have the Holy Spirit, but lives according to the flesh, and not according to the Spirit. This is mentioned in the 8th chapter of the letter to the Romans. If a person screams the loudest or intimidates or pressures, then in fact this is weakness, spiritual weakness. But when we are able in some controversial issue not to raise our voice, not to get angry, not to allow irritation, not to avenge ourselves, not to threaten, then these are signs of meekness, this has a pacifying effect on people, but this requires strength of mind.

The book of Numbers says: “Moses was the meekest of all people on earth” (Num. 12:3). the mildest. There the word is used in superlatives. It is written that Aaron and Miriam began to accuse Moses of taking an Ethiopian wife. In fact, they allegedly accused him on legal grounds, but Moses did not defend himself, he was silent. And this manifested itself meekness. But the Lord stood up for him. We remember that He struck Miriam with leprosy. Why is that? Because Moses was faithful and the Lord trusted him in everything. Moses did not rejoice at the punishment of his sister, but prayed and interceded before God for her mercy. And this, too, showed his meekness. There is a lot to learn here. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself was meek and guided us to do the same: "Guides the meek to righteousness, and teaches the meek in His ways" (Ps. 24:9).

In order to know the ways of the Lord, to follow these paths, it is not enough to agree with them theoretically. It turns out that you need to change something in your heart, in your behavior, you need to stay awake and achieve meekness. Without striving for meekness, we cannot learn from God. We all know how to teach others, but if we do not teach ourselves, then our words will be empty. And we know this in practice, that often a person teaches others, but is useless for his soul. It's worth thinking about. And if we want to learn from the Lord, we need to tame our heart, but it does not immediately obey, it is like a recalcitrant horse. It is difficult to put the bridle of the Holy Spirit on our hearts. But if we want to serve the Lord, we want Him to guide us, we will try, and the Lord will help us. Remember, David wasn't even angry when Shimei cursed him. He met it meekly - he needed the mercy of God and His guidance. David had mistakes, blunders, sins, but meekness he always won over the heart of the Lord.

Meekness is God's great weapon

The promise in Proverbs is: “With meekness the nobleman bows to mercy, and the soft tongue breaks the bone” (Prov. 25:15). This is a very wise teaching and we need to put it in our hearts, learn not to persist, not to insist on our own.

Remember the time when an angry David went to punish Nabal? Nabal really insulted him, treated him cruelly. And Nabal's wife Abigail, hearing about this, went out to meet David with her meek and wise word. And she stopped David, persuaded him not to shed blood. The Word of God gives us great lessons.

We need to delve into them, reflect on them, learn to act in our circumstances in a similar way, because meekness is the great weapon of God, and we need it both in the church and in family relationships. How often do we? We are ready to show our power with anger, shouting or some other carnal methods and forget that God has given us a stronger weapon - a spiritual one! Abigail, a weak woman, alone stopped a large armed detachment! And this is an example of what meekness does. Meekness is a strength, not a weakness.

We need to acquire a spiritual perspective on life so that we can be victorious Christians, not broken and defeated. The book of Ecclesiastes says: “If the anger of the leader breaks out on you, then do not leave your place; because meekness covers great transgressions" (Eccl. 10:4). Do you see what meekness does? A person does not have the strength to fight the boss, even if he is wrong. And if the person is not right - even more so. But meekness also comes to the rescue in this case. And it helps always, in any situation, because it is a spiritual approach. There is another important instruction in Scripture: “If a person falls into any sin, you spiritual ones, correct it in the spirit of meekness, watching each one of yourselves so as not to be tempted” (Gal. 6:1). Do you understand? We are not to look down on a sinning person. We must correct him in the spirit of meekness, so that we ourselves do not fall into temptation, in order to have the fear of God, for no one is free from sin. In order for us to serve the Lord - and we all want this - we first need to put on meekness and don't be mean to anyone. This applies to every person, whether he is highly placed or not. If this does not happen, we will not only not be able to solve problems, but we will multiply them.

I want to draw your attention to wisdom and meekness the prophet Nathan. Do you remember what happened when the Lord sent him to rebuke David? He did not slash from the shoulder, or, like us, directly tell the truth in the eye. He understood that he was dealing with a king who had sinned grievously. Why, and not only to the king, to any person it is not so easy to approach with reproof. Nathan came up with wisdom, he started with a parable, as if from afar, and it broke David's heart. Meekness is always accompanied by wisdom; without wisdom it is simply impossible. Proverbs says that wisdom is with the humble (Prov. 11:2). See how all spiritual qualities are interconnected. To comprehend them, we need to delve deeper into the Word of God.

Very important advice is given in the epistle of James: “Who is wise and prudent among you? prove it in fact by good behavior with wise meekness" (James 3:13). Yes, only in this way can we prove something to someone, convince someone of something: by good behavior with wise meekness. At the same time, the most irritated and unwilling person will smile and say: thank God! Meekness, which is called imperishable beauty, is not easily achieved, like all spiritual qualities: it is achieved through the cross, when a person humbles himself, rejects himself. The Lord says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest; take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29). This is the way - we will find rest, there will be peace in our soul when we learn meekness from our Lord. If we are His children, His disciples, we should strive to live as He lived on this earth. And then we can learn from Him. After all, we came to Him, right? So how can we walk our own ways? We will never learn anything along the way. We came and every time we come to the Lord through repentance. There is no other way to upgrade. To learn meekness from the Lord, we must take His yoke. The yoke is the cross, and the yoke is good, and His burden will be light for us, if we, not in words, but in truth, agree to follow His path. Brothers and sisters! Let us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God!

Mikhail Burchak,

A workshop in Poltava began to sew "pastoral shirts"

The workshop "Dior di Eva" in the Ukrainian city of Poltava at the church "Great Commission" started sewing shirts with coloring, reports the Christian Megaportal invictory.org.

“We saw the need for pastors to emphasize their spiritual dignity during various secular events - round tables, press conferences, media interviews, during public speeches, wedding ceremonies and even funerals,” the workshop says.

“In modern society, it is customary to meet by clothes. According to her, we recognize a doctor, a policeman, a fireman. So the priest must be recognizable. A pastor's shirt with a collar is a symbol of belonging to the clergy, as well as an opportunity for a priest, dressed in ordinary everyday clothes, to position himself as such, the workshop explains. - Unfortunately, the "uniform" of the priest is rejected in favor of the usual strict suits, which have always been an integral attribute of businessmen or officials. Why does a person who serves God and people in our time choose to look like an ordinary manager, entrepreneur or civil servant? After all, no one has canceled the rule “meet by clothes”.

Today the workshop offers individual tailoring of such shirts in any size. “The choice of color is not limited to black only and we are able to deliver the order to any point of the CIS countries in a short time,” Dior di Eva notes.

Koloratka in the form in which we are accustomed to seeing it today was not always like this. Initially, it was a white collar around the neck and looked like a collar. The color of the clothes was black. Thus, the white collar and black color of clothing became a symbol of obedience to God and dedication of one's life to serving Him. There is also a statement that the color collar symbolizes the holiness and purity of the clergyman and that a person with such a collar is a servant of God.

Dior di Eva services have already been used by pastors from Russia and Ukraine. You can get acquainted with color samples, order conditions on the workshop website.

Pope Francis' books published in Spain

In Spain, the first book of Pope Francis was published under the title "Real Power is Service" ("El verdadero poder es el Servicio"). The book was first published when the Pope was Archbishop of Buenos Aires, in 2007. Its purpose is to demonstrate the fundamental principles of the idea of Christian service to people.

Following the example of Jesus Christ, Who came to serve people and gave His Life for people, the author describes service as one of the most important life principles. Priestly service as a kind of service to people is an important evidence of faith. Christian doctor's book becomes a bestseller

Christian doctor Ben Carson's book, America the Beautiful: Revisiting What Made This Nation Great, has topped three categories on the New York Times bestseller list.

Released in January 2012, the book was #1 in the non-fiction paperback category and #3 in the non-fiction hardcover category. Since its release, the book has appeared 23 times on the New York Times bestseller list.

In America the Beautiful, Carson, a highly trained neurosurgeon, reflects on how the US has changed the world and how the country has used its position as a free and prosperous nation.

"What an honor to know that the book has received the attention of such a large number of readers," said Carson.

“It tells me that the state of our country does not go unnoticed, and citizens want our political leaders to really lean on God's Word and not on themselves. I truly believe America's best days are yet to come and we must use our God-given talents to improve our lives, society and the world."

Zondervan Vice President Tracey Danz also said, “We are delighted with the success of this book. Ben's desire to live the life God calls him to is inspiring to me and I truly believe this book can be life changing."

Carson garnered acclaim at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington last month when he criticized Obama for tax policy and health care reform at his presidential review. Carson was also the main speaker at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference, held March 14-16 in Oxon Hill, where he hinted at political aspirations that could even land him in the next presidential election.

In Kyiv, they told how to combine faith and a public profession

On Monday, March 18, 2013, the Novomedia professional club was visited by journalist Alexander Ivanitsky (1 + 1 TV channel, Groshi program. He is also the editor of the Direct Speech Christian newspaper), reports the Christian Megaportal invictory.org with reference to press center of Novomedia Association.

The conversation took place in a question-and-answer format. For more than an hour, Alexander talked about his path to television, the creation of the Groshi (Money) project, the criteria for success on TV; his Christian newspaper, and faith in the journalistic profession.

The 1 + 1 journalist said that he does not watch TV, but watches the Groshi program on the Internet.

In his opinion, there is a creative limitation (censorship) on the regional TV (Alexander started with the Akcent TV channel in Lysychansk), so everyone goes to the capital: “It is easier to realize oneself in Kyiv, but competition in big cities is much higher than at the regional level ", - he noted.

The guest also shared the features of creating stories for the program "Money". He said that the plot should be disclosure, investigation of some problem, for example - abuse of office and so on.

According to him, the Ukrainian press is strong: when a violator of the law realizes that he is "in the light", either conscience or fear wakes up in him. Alexander also sees his main task on TV to do something useful and fundamentally does not take materials that contradict his personal faith.

At the same time, the guest of the pro club repeatedly had to act in different roles to prepare the plots. So, during Euro 2012, Alexander worked as a cleaner in the fan zone for two days.

The journalist combines his work on TV with editorial work in the newspaper "Direct speech". Often Alexander himself writes articles and interviews interesting people in his opinion. As a rule, these are courageous or merciful people. “The main task of our newspaper is that everyone, having read something in it, could be inspired to a good deed,” the speaker said.

“In life, you need to behave in such a way that you are asked: who are you, what is the secret of your happiness? This is a good start for a conversation with a person about God,” Alexander Ivanitsky summed up the meeting.

Recall that the meetings of the pro-club are held every third Monday of the month.

That's all. See you soon!
May God richly bless you as you seek to know Him!
