Advantages and disadvantages of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 2018-2019 identified based on reviews real owners. More detailed pros and cons Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 2.8 diesel, as well as 4.0 and 2.7 with mechanics, automatic and 4x4 all-wheel drive can be found in the stories below:

Owner reviews

Prado 150 is a cozy, affectionate and, most importantly, quite maneuverable car both in the city and off-road. There is no particular noise from the diesel engine, acceleration is acceptable in the city - it is quite enough. In general, the first impressions are positive.

The switches of some auto control functions are inconveniently located, the steering wheel interferes with their review. I would like more information on the car to be displayed on the MFP, the screen seems to be large, but there is little sense. The front and rear cameras quickly get clogged with dirt, especially in bad weather.

Video review

A huge asset of this Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 is the suspension honed over the years - you won’t find fault! High passive and active safety.

Believe me, in my organization we use ten Pradiks, all of 2014, for 2 years on all mileage from 50 to 80 t.km. Major ILLNESS this car brake discs are - over time, when braking, and especially emergency or downhill, they hit the steering wheel very unpleasantly. FOR ALL 10 CARS!

Replacement under warranty is enough for 30,000 km. On one machine, the pump suddenly died, on the other the signal disappeared, on three the batteries died, the cleaner brushes must be changed every weather year, but the price is for the original! Well, the price of maintenance at the official service station is not at all encouraging.

The rear door is quite heavy, so the opening is not vertical, but horizontal, and on all machines it is loose, especially when off-road, play is heard.

Alexey drives Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2.7 (163 hp) AT 2014

I expected better. Firstly, the engine yells while picking up speed, as much as it lays its ears. Secondly, luggage compartment not thought out by the designers - there is nowhere to put even a fire extinguisher, I had to purchase a tool box.

In a car for 2,175,000 rubles, the seat adjustment is worse than the first model Zhiguli, but the steering wheel adjustment is with memory. At a speed of 110 km / h, the hood vibrates, it seems that it is made of foil.

With a run of 14,000 km, something rattled in the suspension and began to give off strongly in wheel. The service at the dealer revealed that the stabilization mechanism had failed. The front right parking sensor works when it wants to.

With a cold running engine, a loud knock is heard, whether it is valves knocking or knocking comes from injectors, but when given strong speed for 20 seconds, the knock disappears. For the money, I would not recommend buying this car.

Where could I buy?

One big drawback of the Land Cruiser 150, which I learned about just not long ago and which crosses out all the advantages of the car - the body starts to RUST. The car is less than a year old.

According to the OD, this is supposedly a disease of all Toyotas, the Prado has a hood and a fifth door. There is a discussion about this on the Prado forum. I hoped that the car assembled in Japan would be insured against many problems, it turned out that it was not a fact. In a word, disappointed.

Toyota could not save on a car worth almost two million and put navigation on all modifications - after all, a jeep, a full-fledged one on a frame, its purpose is to go to the tracks outside settlements, somehow even defective!

And the bluetooth sees my Android every time it wants, maybe this is the nature of the machine - for me this is a sign of cheapness! And the clutch disc should not burn on a run of 10,000 for a car of this class. If it burns again, then this is already a clear structural defect!

Ekaterina Melnichuk, drives a Land Cruiser Prado 2.7 (163 HP) MT 2014

Good car for the village. Purely for those who do not want to drive a pickup truck around the village without roads, then the passenger Prado is suitable. Comfort is in it only as a cross-country ability and ergonomics. All! But if you drive around the city, it's not the same. The car rolls, barely rides, and the cabin is noisy, as if there are no glasses inside. In Lada Vesta, it’s quieter and softer.

So the advantages of a car are reliability and patency. Disadvantages: hard, noisy and rolly in corners. In short, purely for the village.

Marat Nurgaliev, review of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2.8 diesel automatic 2017

I have a mechanic, the engine is only 2.7 liters, but I am satisfied with the car. Well, yes, it’s not a catapult, but it’s quiet on the highway and holds the road like a ship. On secondary routes of the Moscow, Vladimir and Ivanovo regions it goes without any complaints. The chairs are comfortable, the back does not get tired.

On overtaking - yes, you have to wait longer and think twice, but, on the other hand, is it necessary to hurry? And so, that 90 km / h, that 130 km / h - keeps equally confident. I put reliability and repair on 4-ke, because I don’t know what this repair will cost. Casco took with a franchise, it cost 75 thousand, Osago - more than 20, but with an unlimited number of drivers. Consumption on average 15 liters.

Of the advantages, I also note a spacious interior, a large trunk and acoustics. As for the shortcomings, I would probably prefer to take an automatic, since with mechanics on gasoline and 163 horses per two tons of weight in traffic jams is a chore.

Sales market: Russia.

In 2013, Land Cruiser Prado was restyled. The representative of the fourth generation (J150) received a redesigned exterior and interior, an extended set of standard equipment and an updated list of options. In the work on the appearance, the designers focused on the front of the car: new stylish headlights with LED daytime running lights, a new bumper and radiator grill were installed. At the rear, there are fewer changes: upgraded lamp units and tailgate trim. LC Prado also received 17- and 18-inch wheel disks new design. Interior changes include improved quality materials, a 4.2-inch color screen on the optitronic dashboard, to which you can display, for example, information about the operation of off-road systems or visually see the roll of the car in degrees. In addition, the display shows the readings of the on-board computer, phone data or multimedia. The new Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system uses a 7-inch high-resolution display, offers improved touch controls and more advanced functionality. Sales of the updated version on the Russian market began in November 2013. Another update affected the car in 2015, while the LC Prado received a new engine from the Global Diesel (GD) family and a 6-speed automatic transmission for all powertrains.

As standard, the Land Cruiser Prado offers halogen headlights, headlight washers, front fog lights, and rear fog lights; side mirrors with built-in repeaters of direction indicators, heating and electric drive; steering column with tilt and reach adjustment, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, high-quality fabric upholstery, separating armrests front and rear; central locking, remote key, front and rear power windows, on-board computer and air conditioning. The multimedia system includes a full color LCD monitor, CD/MP3 player, 9 speakers, USB/AUX sockets (with iPod connection) and Hands free system. On higher trims, standard equipment may include illuminated side steps, LED headlights and daytime running lights, cruise control, navigation system, 14-speaker premium audio system, Optitron controls, power seats, 2-zone or 3-zone climate control. control, a power folding third row of seats, a power sunroof and more, including a wide range of safety assist systems.

The 2014 Land Cruiser Prado offered three engine options. These are familiar from the pre-styling version of the 2.7-liter 4-cylinder 2TR-FE gasoline engine with 163 hp. (246 Nm), 4.0-liter gasoline V6 series 1GR-FE with 282 hp. (385 Nm), as well as a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with a volume of 3 liters 1KD-FTV with a capacity of 173 hp. (410 Nm.). Since 2015, the latter has been replaced by the 2.8-liter "four" of the GD series, equipped with a compact variable geometry turbocharger and Common Rail direct injection operating at a pressure of 2200 bar. The technical highlight of the new engine is step-by-step fuel injection into the cylinders, which allows you to smoothly ignite diesel fuel in small portions, thereby reducing shock loads. New engine has a high return (177 hp and 450 Nm) and with a new six-speed "automatic" provides "Prado" acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.7 seconds. The new "automatic" since 2015 has become available for other engines. Previously, all engines were equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission, and for a 2.7-liter engine, in addition to the 5-speed manual (remaining in the lineup), a 4-speed "automatic" was offered.

Changes to the suspension tuning of the upgraded Land Cruiser Prado have improved handling and comfort. The level of noise and vibrations has been reduced. In addition to permanent all-wheel drive with differential locks, the LC Prado offers a range of high-tech "off-road" systems, including a kinetic stabilization system of the suspension (KDSS), a driving mode selection system (Multi-terrain Select system, paired with automatic transmission), a system of assistance when overcoming obstacles in slow motion (Crawl Control ). Another new electronic assistant is the trailer sway control system. Despite the fact that the front overhang of the 5-door model increased by 2 cm after restyling, the main geometric parameters of the cross-country ability (angles of entry, exit and ramp) remained unchanged.

The standard set of Prado security systems is represented by the following equipment: these are ABS + EBD systems, BAS emergency brake booster, exchange rate stability, center differential increased friction TORSEN, forced locking of the central differential; active head restraints in the front row of seats, front and side airbags, curtain airbags, a knee airbag for the driver, an Isofix child seat mounting system. In more expensive trim levels, the above innovative control systems are used. undercarriage car, as well as lane change assistants (including monitoring of "blind spots"), driving in reverse and other features aimed at improving the safety of the off-road vehicle.

General information about the car

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 is the fourth generation of all-wheel drive frame SUV from Toyota Motor Corporation, which has been produced since 2009 at the Nino plant (Hamura, Japan). Most car modifications are five-door and five-seater, but there are also three-door five-seater and five-door seven-seater modifications.

The history of the Prado model began in 1985, when, on the basis of the flagship Toyota Land Cruiser 70, a lightweight three-door version of the SUV was created, which received the LJ71G index (for export models, there were the names Land Cruiser II and Land Cruiser Light). The car was distinguished by a spring suspension, a low-power engine (85 hp) and was positioned as a station wagon. off-road. In 1990, a significant modernization of the 70th Land Cruiser was made, which also affected the LJ71G - the model received an updated five-door body, three rows of seats and its own name - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. This model was produced until 1996, when it was replaced by the second generation Prado - 90 series. It was created to counterbalance the much sought after Mitsubishi Pajero, which occupied the niche of light and comfortable SUVs. New Land The Cruiser Prado was offered in three-door and five-door body styles, and also featured independent front suspension. The model turned out to be very successful and a year later it was able to bypass its main competitor in terms of sales in the domestic and foreign markets. The third generation of the SUV (120 series) appeared in 2002 and became one of Toyota's tools to conquer the European market. Especially for this, the design development was entrusted to the French studio ED2. It was also distinguished by many electronic auxiliary systems. Production of the third generation was completed in 2009.

Model history

The new, last for today, fourth generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009, which once again confirmed the "European" purpose of the model. At the same time, the geography of target markets has expanded significantly compared to the 120th Prado - the car began to be delivered to many countries in Latin America, Australia (more than 175 countries in total). In North America, it is not for sale - instead, a luxury analogue is offered there -. The SUV, like its predecessor, is based on a platform. In 2012, it was decided to launch a new Toyota generations Land Cruiser Prado in Russia. Since February 18, 2013, the Sollers-Bussan joint venture has been carrying out its mass production. Planned production volumes - 12000 pcs. per year, which fully meets the demand Russian market. Little is known about the successor to the fourth generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and the estimated release date. According to Mark Tamplin, vice president of Toyota's elite division, Lexus, the next GX model (and therefore Prado) is likely to switch to load-bearing body, instead of a frame structure. In addition, a turbocharged gasoline version is expected to appear in the line of engines.

Technological features

Compared with previous version, Land Cruiser Prado 150 got several interesting systems and design solutions. So, a kinetic stabilization system (KDSS) appeared, which is designed to optimize the performance of the suspension on off-road - on a flat road it provides rigidity, and on off-road it automatically increases the suspension travel. There is also an automated control transfer case– with a rotating handle. Prado also borrowed the CRAWL system from the flagship Land Cruiser, which performs the function of cruise control when driving slowly off-road - up to 5 km / h with a speed change step of only 1 km / h. Additionally, an electronic assistant Multi-Terrain Select is installed, which allows you to change the degree of slip depending on the selected type of off-road - dirt, snow, gravel, stones. An interesting feature of this system is the possibility of a circular view (Multi-Terrain Monitor) with the overlay of the trajectory of the movement of the wheels on the image received from the video cameras.

Of the small improvements, the following can be noted: optional installation of a transparent roof; box with a refrigerator in the armrest; spectacle compartment with panoramic mirror for blind spot monitoring; bottom illumination for ease of landing; the possibility of a separate opening of the rear door glass; the presence of a 200V outlet in the trunk.

Interesting Facts

The Chairman of the Communist Party of China, the head of state, drives a Hong Qi HQE limousine, which is based on an extended Toyota Land Cruiser Prado platform. Due to the fact that this car has problems with handling and reliability, it is usually used only for trips over short distances.

According to Toyota marketers, almost a quarter of potential Land Cruiser Prado buyers are women.

Advantages and disadvantages compared to classmates

The main difference between the Prado 150 and classmates is the presence of a supporting frame. This makes it more reliable and durable. Also frame structure provides a lower cost SUV compared to many others (for example, Volkswagen Tuareg, Land Rover Discovery). Among the shortcomings - a large number, increased consumption fuel, poorer interior equipment, side opening backdoor which requires a large space for loading and unloading.

Numbers and awards

From 2009 to the beginning of 2013, about 50,000 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150s were sold in Russia. Since 2010, the Prado has topped the ranking of the best-selling full-size SUVs in Russia.

Prado also often tops the lists of the most stolen cars in Russia.

Price: from 2,499,000 rubles.

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show presented to the public the second restyling of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with the J150 index. Fans have been waiting for an update for a long time, especially against the backdrop of a change in the classic one, though they were surprised by the second restyling. For those who are not in the know, this is also the 4th generation, released in 2009, but has already survived the second update. Let's see what the Japanese have brought new.

Now I'm young

The transformation of the front end benefited the visual age. associated with "gray hair", this car has become more aggressive, that is, young. Abandoned headlights going down in favor of the classic diode design. The radiator grille was completely changed, the chrome trim of which lies on top of the optics.

Completely changed the bumper of Pradik, equipping it with convex shapes and in-depth fog lamp framed in chrome. They put a hood from Kruzak, although they are not interchangeable, but they added aggression.

At the rear of the SUV, the bumper was slightly changed, changed interior design lanterns, and left everything else. There are no changes on the side, except for the shape of the thresholds.

Easy resizing:

  • length - 4840 mm;
  • width - 1855 mm;
  • height - 1845 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2790 mm;
  • ground clearance - 215 mm.

Innovations of the Prado salon 2018-2019

Toyota has always lagged behind others when it comes to electronics because it is considered more conservative by fans. You will not see anything new here, there are easy steps into the future so as not to remain a "dinosaur".

The dashboard of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J150 was equipped with a new 4.2-inch on-board computer display with various information. In general, the whole tidy has changed, but these are trifles in the form of scales. Toyota Touch 2 multimedia display is now 8-inch. Near the gearshift lever, there were buttons for controlling driving modes when ordering adaptive shock absorbers.

The little 200 got its 4-spoke multi-wheel, which in good trim levels becomes partially wooden. By the way, the center console has become lower by 25 mm, which, according to the Japanese, improves visibility.

The seats were left the same, all also 5 seats and optional two rear seats. Of the new options at the front, there was ventilation and its own climate control at the rear. There is also a lot of space, even set the adjustment of the rear sofa.

The trunk remained the same - 621 liters. You can fold the rear sofa to get 1934 liters, but still get a high threshold. The spare tire is not under the floor, but is attached to the bottom.

An addition to the Pradik 2018-2019 electronics was the Toyota Safety package with various systems: adaptive crisis control, lane sensor with hold, driver fatigue sensor, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, automatic braking in front of an obstacle.

Specifications

Type of Volume Power Torque Overclocking Max Speed Number of cylinders
Petrol 2.7 l 163 HP 246 H*m 12.3 sec. 165 km/h 4
Petrol 4.0 l 249 HP 381 H*m 9.7 sec. 175 km/h V6
Diesel 2.8 l 177 HP 450 H*m 12.7 sec. 175 km/h 4

The line of engines was left the same, in fact, these are modified engines of the previous generation. The design is simple, so they will serve for a long time without serious problems.

  1. 2TR-FE - base motor Toyota equipment Land Cruiser Prado 2.7-liter displacement with VVT-i system. The atmospheric installation produces 163 horsepower at 5200 rpm, which is too small for a 2-ton SUV. The maximum torque of 246 H*m is reached at 3900 rpm. Weak, because acceleration to hundreds above 12 seconds.
  2. 1GD-FTV is the next diesel engine in terms of trim levels. There is a variable geometry turbine and the familiar Common Rail system. As a result, at 3400 rpm, 177 Horse power, and from 1600 rpm all the torque is available - 450 H * m. The dynamics have not improved much, but the huge moment shows itself well off-road.
  3. The 1GR-FE is the top-of-the-line 4.0-litre V6 found on the Prado's predecessor. In fact, the installation produces 282 horses, but it was strangled to 249 horses and 381 H * m of the moment in order to pass through taxes. Here, the acceptable dynamics is 9.7 seconds.

off-road

The base engine in the minimum configuration comes with a 5-speed mechanical box gears, optionally, he and all other engines are equipped with a 6-speed automatic. Full-Time TL drive with Torsen lockable differential. Also left a downshift. We expanded the functionality of Multi-Terrain Select, through which the terrain is selected, and the system adjusts the distribution of torque and blocking (including rear cross-axle) for better efficiency.

The Japanese SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018-2019 honors traditions, so it remained framed. The front suspension is independent with double wishbones, and the rear is a continuous axle with trailing arms. The top is equipped with adaptive shock absorbers, pneuma and active hydraulic supports of KDSS stabilizers. Riding modes are manually configured, two new modes have been added.

KDSS really had a positive effect on the sensations. With it, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 SUV loses its buildup and does not bite when braking. The suspension is of course comfortable, and the all-wheel drive system surprises with cross-country ability. Don't believe? Find a car and check.

Off-road enthusiasts will be useful to know the angles of entry / exit: front - 31 degrees, rear - 25 degrees. The manufacturer claims that the car will overcome the ford up to 70 cm deep.

Price and configuration

Here the reputation of the model really deteriorates, because the basic configuration of the "Classic" is simply empty. It is clear that in this way the manufacturer receives a relatively low base price - 2 499 000 rubles, but reduces prestige.

Base equipment:

  • 2.7-liter engine;
  • Manual Transmission;
  • 4 airbags;
  • hill start assistance system;
  • air conditioner;
  • full power package;
  • fabric salon;
  • steel 17-inch wheels;
  • conventional limited slip differential;
  • halogen headlights;
  • diode rear lights;
  • light sensor;
  • simple on-board computer;
  • media plug.

The package is really empty. The essence of the Prado is revealed in expensive versions, the top of which costs 4,402,000 rubles. Here you will really understand what it is, because it will appear:

  • 2 additional seats in the back;
  • 4 liter engine;
  • LED head optics with washer;
  • light sensor;
  • leather upholstery;
  • new 4.2-inch on-board computer;
  • wood trim;
  • power seats;
  • heating of two rows;
  • front seat ventilation;
  • keyless access;
  • starting heater;
  • Toyota Safety package;
  • 3-zone climate control;

  • JBL audio system;
  • 4 cameras;
  • all off-road functions;
  • adaptive suspension.

Yes, it's still the same good old Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018-2019. The second restyling essentially introduced a dozen minor changes, but they were able to completely change the character of the SUV, making it more manageable, modern and functional. The target adult audience will be pleased with the changes and the former reliability. Claim only in the basic configuration - too cheap and it's not about the price.

Video

I have owned this legendary SUV for three years now. I am the second owner. It was acquired by me from the hands of a girl who bought it from official dealer at the end of 2010. According to the passport, he is also 2010. This is my first five-door SUV in black, which for 7.5 years of its full life has already run 82,000 kilometers on the roads of Russia and Kazakhstan.

Specifications:

My Pradika model is 2010, so it is pre-restyling. High quality assembly from Japanese specialists with adaptation to the European market.

As for the dimensions, they have the following parameters:

  • The length of the car is 4840 mm.
  • Width 1855 mm
  • The height is almost the same - 1845 mm.

Someone thinks that these width-to-height ratios can lead to a car tipping over, but I will try to dispel your speculation.

The wheelbase is 2790 mm. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in 150 body is significantly smaller than its older brother TLC 200, so it is easily able to maintain its superiority over it on off-road.

The mass of the Prado makes one involuntarily respect him, there is a note in the passport about 2400 kilograms, and full mass and at all is 3 tons.

It is completed with three main power units, between which it was very difficult for me to choose. This is a 2.7-liter petrol four, a 4.0-liter petrol six and my three-liter diesel with 4 cylinders, which I did not consider as an option at all. In the region where I live, diesel fuel is far from being of ideal quality, so we have few diesel engines, and, accordingly, there are few specialists in them.

Specifically this car was chosen solely because of its "fat" configuration and low mileage. The petrol four did not suit in terms of power, but the six in terms of its appetite and taxes. After the acquisition, I found out that my power, although not significant at 173hp, but the torque, which is more important on heavy vehicles, is 410 N * m. This is 20 N * m more than on the top four liter version.

Three-liter power unit works in tandem with a five-speed automatic transmission gears, which, frankly, is not suitable for racing at all. He thinks for a very long time, the transmission does not select as well as we would like. This is not surprising, since the pradik is a heavy frame SUV.

Equipment:

As I noted above, my car has a rather expensive package - "Prestige Plus". Optionally, you can also add a third row of seats, sunroof, heated steering wheel and air suspension back. Otherwise, everything is in my configuration!

I think it’s not worth talking about standard things, so I’ll only talk about the main points and cool little things.

Automatic transmission, black leather interior, a full-fledged refrigerator in the armrest, a 220-volt outlet in the trunk. Everything is electrically adjustable. Rudder in automatic mode drives out to you when you start the car and moves back as far as you can when you turn it off. Starting, by the way, is carried out using a button. The music is excellent from JBL, represented by 12 speakers, regular amplifiers and a regular subwoofer. There is a lot of space in the cabin, all the buttons, knobs and other interior details are simply huge, as are the rear-view mirrors.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 dashboard

It’s worth adding that getting into the car happens without a key, with the purchase of Pradik, I forgot when I held them in my hands for the last time. This moment is very well thought out, already when approaching the car, it turns on the illumination of the thresholds, the interior, as if welcoming you. This is quite a touching moment and cannot but rejoice. Now let's move on to the main features, both of my configuration in particular, and to the features of the Prado 150 in general.

The car has four cameras. One is located under the front Toyota sign, the other is in the back, and two are in the side mirrors. This is the most beautiful piece of engineering I have ever seen in a car. If you drive out from behind the high walls of houses onto the road and see nothing, just look into the cameras, they have already seen everything a long time ago. Parking is a pleasure. Off-road they are the best helpers, unless you have brought along a navigator friend who would agree to be outside the car in the mud. In addition to the cameras, 8 parking sensors are also installed around, so it’s not surprising that a girl used the car before me, because it’s simply impossible not to notice anything in the parking lot on this car.

Regarding off-road capabilities, my configuration has everything: a reduced range of gears, inter-axle (central) blocking, inter-wheel blocking rear axle and most importantly - Multi-Terrain Select. Probably everyone is familiar with cruise control, and so this is the same cruise control, only off-road. You set the direction, choose the right speed, take your feet off the pedals and watch your Prado free you without your help from the most difficult mud, snow or sand traps. On the displays, which is located in the dashboard, you can see in what position the front wheels are. It helps a lot on the road.

I also forgot to mention the wonderful headlights available in my configuration. Near — linzovannaya xenon, distant conventional halogen. Especially lies in the fact that the headlights are adaptive. They turn with the steering wheel and illuminate the turn you are entering in advance.

actual fuel consumption.

Consumption of diesel pradika I was very surprised. Gasoline sedans drive around with a consumption of 12-14 liters in the city at a cost of gasoline 20% more than diesel fuel. On my heavy frame Prado 150, the consumption has the following figures:

city in the summer - 10-11 liters (real consumption)

In winter, it is 14-15 liters due to downtime on site due to warming up. The data here is exclusively from the on-board computer.

On the track in the summer we traveled repeatedly over long distances, so it was interesting to measure how long an 87 liter tank would last.

According to the results, it turned out that the consumption is only 8 liters per 100 km of track at a speed of 90-100 km / h. If you drive it already 140-160 km / h (with top speed 175 km / h), then the consumption even on the highway jumps to the mark of 11-12 liters.

I didn’t have to use it on the highway in winter, only for short distances, where the on-board computer shows 11-12 liters.

Oil.

Filled up every time original oils Toyota 5w40. Also installed together with replacement original oil filter and fuel. I change the oil every 6-7 thousand km.

maintenance cost.

I have not yet carried out a full-fledged MOT, I change oils and filters and ride for my own pleasure. Replacing engine oil with oil and fuel filters is 5,000 rubles. Did another replacement cabin filter(something around 700 rubles). In the spring I plan to change the oil in the box — 12,000 rubles. I also regularly “squirt” cardans - this is a fundamental moment for Pradik.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 black, rear

Breakdowns.

As for the breakdowns, they essentially did not exist. Once the light bulb burned out in the PTF. This breakdown cost 1500 rubles.

The next breakdown happened just because of the “illness” of the Prado in my configuration. Due to the constant movement of the steering wheel, when the engine is started, a cable is wiped in the area of \u200b\u200bthe steering column, which is responsible for half of the interior buttons. In my case, only the signal and the ability to control the music system from the steering wheel disappeared. At autopsy, it turned out that the previous owner had already encountered this problem and soldered this cable, but I decided to replace it with a new one for 6,000 rubles with work. There have been no more breakdowns and I hope there never will be. No wonder the car is legendary and belongs to the group of "millionaires".

Rubber.

Since purchasing the TLC Prado 150 has been shod in Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/65 R18. This is an all-season model that normally holds the road, but already at minus five degrees it is no different from the summer one. I am surprised at the wear resistance, it was not new at the time of purchase and I have had it for 3 years, and the replacement time is just right. It quickly “blurs” off-road, is quite noisy, keeps the track poorly, but in general, 7 out of ten. winter tires I have never had one, since the car is practically not used in winter

Dynamic characteristics.

The car holds the road perfectly, but worse than competitors from Audi or Volkswagen. There is enough traction on the bottoms with a margin, it is a pleasure to move around the city. On the track after 100 km / h the car refuses to go, overtaking is quite difficult. The car accelerates to 100 km / h in 11 seconds. As for braking, the car reacts adequately and brakes very quickly, but 2-3 times. After that, I would not risk overclocking much. Brakes quickly "float". This is due to their small size and large vehicle weight.

Excellent stability Pradiku in my configuration provides KDSS system. This is another ingenious engineering solution. At high speeds, the suspension becomes very stiff, which does not allow the car to sway, and at low speeds it completely “opens up”.

Hydroplaning and ice.

It is impossible to start a car into a skid with all the security systems turned on, no matter how you shake the wheel, it will go straight, but once you turn everything off, you will understand that even on a frame SUV you can have fun.

behavior at high speeds.

At high speed, the car stands confidently on the road, steers easily and does not cause a feeling of fear from driving.

Advantages.

I will indicate the main advantages later in the pros, but here I would like to add about the attitude of other motorists in the stream. You have to drive 2 cars, the second one is ten times cheaper. A huge difference, Pradik is respected on the road regardless of the year of manufacture, especially if it is black. Rarely honk, without problems miss. Another main advantage is the slow decline in the price of it. For 3 years average price on my model of 2010 fell by only 4-6%. I just can't believe it, but I often look at car sales portals and see price tags for my car that do not change.

Flaws.

Noisy engine, cheap plastic in the cabin, lack of modern automotive systems.

Safety.

This is what the Prado is at its best. Powerful frame, modern materials and shock absorbers, a large number of airbags. I have never been scared in this car, if you are fastened, you get the impression that you are in an armored capsule, you know that the frame will protect you from any SUV and sedan.

Pros:

  • Reliability.
  • Off-road performance.
  • Fuel consumption.
  • Music system.
  • Landing.
  • Comfort.
  • Vehicle versatility.
  • Trunk volume.

Conclusion.

To date, I do not know a car more reliable, more convenient and comfortable for the money. With the release new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018, I began to doubt the attractiveness of my dorestyle. And I can say with confidence that I will definitely not switch to another car in the next 10 years. He's better than you think.
