In 2012, the dream began to become a reality - fortunately, the circumstances at work were going well. I began to consider options, take test drives, watch videos, read articles. December. And then information about the Pajero-4 falls into my hands. I went to the salon of the official representative, looked at the car, sat in the cabin. In January, an answer came from the UAE - there are no 3.0-liter ones, there are 3.5 and 3.8-liter ones. But the price tag for delivery is almost like that of an official. I didn’t care about the year of manufacture (I take it for myself, not for sale), the car is new (mileage on the speedometer is 5 km., I was taken to Russia in December). Now I'll try to go over the 28 shortcomings:

5. Bad sound front door closing: the sound is slightly “deaf”, its heaviness is felt. Close easily.
6. "Thin" signal:Normal beep, no beep.
7. No adjustments reach rudder - I have not had cars with such an adjustment, so I do not suffer. - I agree that I don't suffer. The disadvantage is more than compensated by seat adjustments.
8. Hard suspension: suspension of a full-fledged soft SUV. Remember UAZ. "Patriot" has not become softer for many, but since it was a "goat". So they stayed. If you want softer, take a crossover or a sedan.
9. Overpriced price for official: I personally compared the possibility of buying an Arab - taking into account the New Year's discount, the official is more accessible. Moreover, the Arabs are not always the ones you need. For example, I wanted a 3.0-liter Arab - they are not available now. There are 3.5 and 3.8 liters - the price tag for delivery is the same as 3.8 liters from the official. (VS: Now, with new customs duties and a common customs space, the Arab options are no longer interesting).
10. Bad aerodynamics, water from under the wheels enters the ajar windows: I haven't driven through puddles yet, so I can't judge.

26. Dumb automaton: judging by the dynamics of acceleration - the car is not for racing. But I did not set myself such a task. For a measured ride it is enough. Acceleration is acceptable. If you want faster, switch to manual mode.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is one of the most popular and inexpensive SUVs in our country. Until last year, on the Russian market, we could only see the Thai assembly of this car. But, since June 2014, production has also started in Russia. Of course, many people immediately began to doubt the quality and professionalism of our craftsmen. Let's take a look at whether they are right, and where Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is assembled for Russia. Does the quality depend on where Pajero Sport is made?

The new generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was first shown in 2008. The car entered our market from four countries. At first it was Japan, where the car was produced in the province of Nagoya until 2010. Further, Korean and Brazilian-made cars joined the Japanese assembly.

The most popular with us was the assembly from Thailand. There, at the plant in Laem Chabang, these SUVs are still being made. Their production is so high quality that even in the "bad" last year, 6762 cars were sold in Russia. Representatives of the company would not even think about relocating production, but in 2011 Thailand was covered by a powerful flood. It stopped the plant for a long time, and it was our market that “missed” 13% of the required number of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. After that, it was decided to open a plant in Russia.

As already mentioned, since last year, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been assembled in Kaluga at the PSMA Rus plant. Here they don’t just make this car, but create some of their own parts for it. Also, a full cycle has been set up here, including all the tests on the track.

The assembly of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in Russia is done by the SKD method. In fact, only the frame is created here. It is brought from the GAZ plant in Nizhny Novgorod, where it is welded, anticorrosive applied, primed and painted. It is sent to Kaluga ready-made. Here, ready-made bodies with interior, engines and transmission are already waiting in the wings. At the factory, the frame is attached to the units and the chassis is mounted on the body. So far, the degree of localization of this production is only 2%, but in 2015 it is planned to increase it. So far, they plan to do this at the expense of salon rugs and glasses.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport of our assembly is not very different from the Thai. The car received the same headlights. But, the grille and bumper are already new here. Also, the engineers changed the diameter of alloy wheels to 17 inches. The last change was the color of the rear turn signals. Now they are white.

In the cabin, as before, there is a lot of space left, an interesting finish has been made, hard plastic and an angular dashboard with large buttons have been installed. Immediately, the engineers made an excellent multimedia system with a high-precision screen.

Now for the disadvantages. Front and rear landing is typical for frame Japanese SUVs. She's way too low. It is very felt in the back row. If the driver is large, then driving will be quite uncomfortable for him. The seat back is narrow, and there is not enough steering wheel adjustment for reach. Therefore, you have to either sit closer or reach for the steering wheel.

In the design of the car, the rear axle relies on springs instead of leaf springs. This makes his move not at all soft. On a broken road, the suspension will hang out. Therefore, passengers do not feel very comfortable.

This is all the difference. And, most likely, in this form the car will be produced until the next restyling.
