Design

The basis of the restyled version of Mohave is the old frame structure: it has a double wishbone suspension in front, and a multi-link in the back. For a surcharge, a rear air suspension is offered (and a self-locking limited-slip rear differential), but it should be borne in mind that on severe off-road it will be of little use, since the design of the SUV is characterized by crossover habits, and the clearance of the crossover model is only 195 mm, although the manufacturer claims that under the bottom as much as 217 mm. For serious cross-country driving, the ground clearance is frankly modest.

The instrument cluster is quite deeply recessed into the panel, with white illumination (and red at the edges), very informative, in bright sunlight it does not glare.

But there is also an inconvenience - the location of the air conditioner cannot be called successful, in bright light it is almost impossible to see readings on its screen, and even at night it is difficult to see what temperature is set.

It is not easy for a tall driver to sit behind the wheel, even if the seat is fully pushed back, there is not too much space.

New Kia Mojave 2019 model year continues to exist in the Russian market. Persistent rumors about the appearance of the second Generation Kia Mohave, and remained rumors. The mid-size frame SUV was originally created for the North American market as a family and very comfortable car. The off-road qualities of the car were the last thing thought.

Sales of the Mojave (in the US the Kia Borrego) lasted less than three years. Today, the model can only be bought in Korea, Russia and several other Asian countries. Naturally, after such a fiasco, the Koreans did not have any desire to develop the model. Since the premiere in 2008, the model has been slightly restyled only a couple of times.

As for the 4x4 all-wheel drive, Mohave has three transmission options since the last update. The first, basic modification has a manually connected front axle and a single-stage transfer case. In a slightly more expensive configuration, the car will please all-wheel drive with connecting the front axle with a multi-plate clutch and a two-stage transfer case. Top configurations will also please with the presence of a limited slip differential rear axle.

Thanks completely independent suspension on shock absorbers of variable stiffness, an incredible ride is achieved on any surface.
