Review content:

Debut of the third Hyundai generations Tucson took place in 2015 as part of the annual Geneva Motor Show. In comparison with its predecessor, the car has changed in all planes: the crossover has received a completely new exterior design, larger dimensions, an improved and more comfortable interior, and has also become more technologically advanced.

It should be noted that the predecessor new Hyundai Tussan 2017 on the European and domestic market was known under the name ix35. Now, regardless of the market, the car will be called "Tucson" - the name received in honor of the city of the same name in Arizona (USA). By the way, in the language of North American Indians, the name "Tucson" means "spring at the foot of the Black Mountain."

Exterior Hyundai Tucson 2017 - 2018

The first thing you pay attention to when looking at the new Hyundai Tussan is its dimensions. The crossover has become noticeably larger than its predecessor:
  • Length- 4.475 m;
  • Width- 1.85 m;
  • Height without roof rails - 1.655 m (with roof rails - 1.66 m);
  • Wheelbase has 2.67 m.
The minimum declared ride height is 182 mm, which, on the one hand, is not much, and on the other, it will be enough for the majority of potential buyers, the majority of whom will use the car exclusively in the city.

The third generation Hyundai Tucson has received a completely new look that successfully combines solidity and sport. In general, the car is made in uniform style with the latest generation of younger Hyundai ix25 and older Hyundai Santa Fe.

The front of the car flaunts aggressive LED head optics, a monumental hexagonal false radiator grille and a spectacular bumper, where a small air intake and twin foglights are neatly written off.

The profile of the crossover is no less stylish and modern, attracting the eye with a sloping roof line, a window line rising to the stern, massive wheel arches and graceful stampings running along the large side doors.

Stern Hyundai Tussan received large shades parking lights with LED filling, large door luggage compartment, crowned with a small spoiler, as well as a neat bumper with a sports diffuser and a pair of trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

Those who wish to become the owner new Tucson can choose from eleven body colors, as well as one of several R18-R18 wheel designs.

The interior of the new Hyundai Tussan 2018

Following the appearance, it changed and interior design a car that has an ergonomic, strict and at the same time modern design. The stylish multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel is endowed with a pronounced relief, and dashboard, complemented by a 4.2" LCD screen on-board computer, is highly informative. In the central part of the dashboard is a functional touch screen multimedia unit with a diagonal of 8 inches.

Directly below it is a double row of function buttons, and even lower is a stylish microclimate control unit, represented by a small display and a pair of functional knobs. The interior of the car is mostly made of quality materials, but in some places there is still hard plastic, the presence of which does not spoil the overall impression of the interior design at all.

Hyundai Tucson is designed for five passengers, none of which will face the problem of lack of free space, which is the merit of the increased wheelbase.

The front seats, although far from the standard, have a friendly profile and a sufficient number of adjustments. An electric drive and a ventilation system are optionally available, which is still a rarity in cars of this class. The gallery received a tilt-adjustable backrest, a separate air duct unit, an armrest and a heating system (optional).

Trunk volume has decreased slightly and now stands at 488 liters, which can be increased to 1478 liters by folding the rear sofa. Hidden in the boot floor is a full-size spare tire and a small repair kit. It is important to note that the lowered backs of the rear sofa form a perfectly flat floor, which makes it easy to transport bulky cargo.

Exterior Hyundai Tucson 2016

Automobile Russian assembly will not differ in external indicators from a crossover made in the Czech Republic. It is worth noting that the Hyundai Tucson 2016 has a stylish modern exterior - a flattened grille with a corporate logo in the center, elegant headlights, and narrow LED running lights.

On the side, the car is distinguished by stylish stamping and smooth lines of the body.

Engine

Currently, six versions of the crossover are produced at the plant in Kaliningrad, differing in different technical specifications. Unites modifications only one thing - they are all-wheel drive.

Thus, the production of Hyundai Tucson 2016 with a 2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline power unit producing 149 hp has been launched in Russia. and working in tandem, both with automatic and mechanical box gear shifting, a 2-liter turbocharged "diesel", issuing 185 hp. power and aggregated with automatic transmission, as well as a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 177 hp. and paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai presence in Russia

It is worth recalling that 2016 was the sixth car of a well-known Korean manufacturer, produced at the facilities of a plant based in Kaliningrad. Hyundai Equus and Hyundai i40 were the first cars to be produced at the plant in Russia.

After the successful release of these models, the Koreans have established Russian production representative hyundai sedan Elantra, which is popular not only in its homeland and on the territory of the Russian Federation, but also in other developed countries of the world.

Compact Hyundai crossover Tucson was introduced by a Korean company in 2004. The car was equipped with petrol engines 2.0 (141 hp) and V6 2.7 (175 hp), as well as a two-liter turbodiesel developing 113-150 forces. Buyers were offered versions with a manual transmission or with a four-speed "automatic", in the model range there were versions with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Only all-wheel drive vehicles with gasoline engines were supplied to Russia. Hyundai Tucson prices started at $26,000.

The crossover left most markets in 2009 or 2010 with the advent of a new model, but, for example, in China, the car was sold for several more years. And in Brazil, Tucson is still produced - with a two-liter engine that can run on gasoline or ethyl alcohol. In addition to Korea and Brazil, cars were also assembled in China, Taiwan and Ukraine.

From the article you will learn where the main brands of cars are produced Hyundai Creta, Solaris, Tucson, Santa Fe, Elantra, IX35, I40, which of them are produced at factories in Russia, and which in other countries, but for our country.

The geography of production is expanding

Long gone are the times when certain brands of cars were produced in any one country.

Previously, Audi was produced only in Germany, Chevrolet - in the USA, Peugeot - in France, and so on.

But the geography of production is expanding, new plants are being built in other countries, demand is growing and, as a result, sales volumes are growing.

This approach allows you to saturate the market and provide everyone with cars.

Below we will dwell in more detail on Korean Hyundai cars, which are produced in many countries of the world (including Russia).

General information about Hyundai Motor

Hyundai Motor Company is a South Korean automobile manufacturer with a wide range of the lineup and widely known throughout the world.

The founder of the concern is Chung Zhu-Yong. It was he who opened the company in 1967, which initially was only part of a large project, and in 2003 became an individual unit.

Initially, Hyundai Motor focused on passenger cars, but one was also produced. freight car Ford.

Over the next thirty years, the company developed and expanded its scope of production. Already five years after the opening, production started Hyundai cars, and two years later the Hyundai Poini model appeared.

By the 80s of the last century, the production volume reached 50 thousand cars a year. In 1998, a significant event took place in the history of the company - Kia Motros was absorbed.

The name Hyundai is translated from Korean as "modernity". Actually, this word has become a motto for manufacturers who tried to embody new trends and trends in each model.

Sales figures

Hyundai Motor Company owns many car assembly plants not only in South Korea, but also in other countries of the world - the USA. Turkey, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, China and others.

Finished cars are distributed to thousands of car dealerships and sold to tens of thousands of people every day.

In 2010, the sales figure was almost 1.75 million cars, and the profit reached 32 billion.

In 2016, more than 145 thousand cars were sold (only in Russia). Generally speaking, this figure is ten times higher. On the territory of the Russian Federation, many models are assembled or were assembled - Sonata, Assent, Elantra, Santa Fe and others.

A major project was launched in 2007. It was then that it was possible to conclude an agreement on the construction of a Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg.

Already in 2010, the first cars rolled off the assembly line. The capacity of the plant was enough to produce about 200,000 cars annually.

In 2011, Solaris and Rio were assembled at the plant. Simultaneously with the plant in St. Petersburg, the production of component parts began, thanks to which already in 2010 Hyundai sales in Russia amounted to 87 thousand cars.

Hyundai Motor entered the hybrid market in 2004 with the introduction of the Click/Gets Hybrid.

A year later, the lineup was replenished with another "hybrid" - an offshoot of the Accent model.

Already in the first four years, about 800 Click hybrid cars were produced, and by the end of 2008, government agencies received about 3.4 thousand hybrids.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai Solaris assembled, factories in Russia

Hyundai Solaris is well known to domestic motorists.

Today it is produced in South Korea, Turkey, the USA and many other countries.

With the advent of the plant in St. Petersburg, it is also assembled in Russia. Before the opening of production, all lines were checked for the fact of the quality of the finished product and the absence of defects.

As soon as all the checks were completed, the production itself started.

Peculiarity Hyundai plant Motor in Russia is a responsible approach to production and strict adherence to technology.

This is not surprising, because more than half a billion dollars were invested in the construction of the site.

A little earlier, similar factories were built in a number of other countries - in the United States, Turkey, the Czech Republic, India and others.

main feature plant in the Russian Federation consists in a full production cycle, when the entire assembly process takes place on the territory of one country, starting with the production of spare parts and ending with the adjustment of the electronic components of the machine.

There are workshops on the territory of the plant where spare parts are manufactured, as well as welding, assembly and painting of the machine.

There is also a stamping workshop, in which special attention is paid to product quality.

An important feature of the Hyundai Motor plant in Russia is the emphasis on process automation. This figure reaches 80 percent, which allows us to speak with confidence about the quality and reliability of finished cars.

Few people know, but in the two workshops of the plant (painting and welding) people do not participate at all in the production process. All the work is done by the so-called "transformers" - robotic manipulators. By the way, this technique is also manufactured at the Hyundai factory.

An obligatory stage of production is the control line, where the machine undergoes quality control. When problems are identified vehicle sent for revision.

In 2016, the production of Hyundai Solaris in Russia was temporarily suspended, but, as company representatives assure, in March 2017, the Russians will be presented updated version car of the second generation - which will begin to be assembled at the same plant from January of this year.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai Greta (Creta) assembled, factories in Russia

The next model worthy of attention is the Hyundai Creta. Previously, cars were produced only for the Asian market, and production was established in India (Chennai city).

Already the first year of sales showed the success of the new model. Even before the start of the issue, the number of applications exceeded 70 thousand. In addition to Asia, Hyundai Creta is sold in South American and African countries.

Interestingly, the Indian plant was designed to produce no more than 7 thousand cars per month.

Due to such restrictions, buyers had to stand in queues for a long time, and the waiting time sometimes reached 6-8 months or more.

Not surprisingly, the issue of capacity expansion was given key attention. Already in the first year of production, it was announced about a future increase in the limit to 10 thousand cars per month.

Concerning Russian market, here Hyundai Creta appeared later. Production has been established at the already mentioned plant in St. Petersburg. The launch of the first line started in August 2016.

From the assembly line, the cars enter the dealer network and are sold. The main difficulties are associated with the need to reconfigure the equipment under new model, because earlier at the plant on this line another model was produced - Solaris.

But now the production of Solaris has been moved to another, more advanced line (read above).

On average, the plant in St. Petersburg plans to produce 4-5 thousand cars per month. The total volume of Hyundai Creta cars that should roll off the assembly line is 200,000 units.

This is enough to cover the needs of not only Russia, but also neighboring countries.

It is worth noting that the Russian version of Hyundai Creta has a number of differences. The main feature is the adaptation of the machine to Russian roads. This means that the ground clearance has been increased, a stiffer suspension has been installed.

There are restrictions in the choice of motors. Two engines are available for the Russian market - 1.6 and 2.0 liters. In this case, you can choose a full or front-wheel drive.

Read here detailed overview.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai Tussan assembled, factories in Russia

In recent years, crossovers have gained unprecedented popularity. They are roomy, have good cross-country ability, have a solid appearance and are very economical.

No wonder why each of the manufacturers wanted to snatch "a piece of their pie." The Hyundai company, which presented the market with a completely successful one, was no exception.

The car was developed on the basis of the famous ix35, released back in 2008. At the same time, manufacturers did not hide the fact that new crossover- just an enlarged version of a passenger car.

The clearance of the Hyundai Tussan is 18 cm, which is quite enough for our roads.

The issue of assembly deserves special attention. Today, the production of the model has been established in several countries - the Czech Republic, Turkey and South Korea.

There are large factories for the production of Hyundai cars in the United States, China and Mexico. By the way, some of the listed countries are no longer engaged in the production of the Hyundai model, but the factories still exist.

Crossovers come to Russia from a factory built in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the quality of the assembly of the car does not at all depend on the geography of production.

At each of the sites, strict quality control is carried out, which excludes the presence of defects.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai Santa Fe assembled, factories in Russia

It is not always clear where the car is assembled, because the last model update was seven years ago (in 2010). By the way, since that moment no significant changes have been made - only the appearance has been corrected.

For some period, Elantra was assembled for the Russian Federation and Europe in the Czech Republic (in the city of Noshovitsa).

The car was also produced in St. Petersburg. In 2009, the assembly of the "South Korean" was also established in Ukraine, at the Bogdan plant. At the same time, South Korea (Ulsan) still remains the main supplier.

It is from there that the car is sent to many countries, including Russia. By the way, in the period from 2000-2007, Elantra was produced in Taganrog ("Tagaz").

In addition to those already listed above, Elantra plants are located in Turkey, the Czech Republic, China, Brazil and India. But, the main supplier for Russia (with rare exceptions) is South Korea.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai IX35 assembled, factories in Russia

Hyundai IX35 is considered one of the most popular crossovers in Russia. For the first time, car sales started in 2009, and the first deliveries began a year later.

  • L - Slovakia (Zilina);
  • J - Czech Republic (Noshovice);
  • U - Korea (Ul-San).

Korean car owners claim that the plastic in the car is softer.

As for the Hyundai IX35 from Slovakia, many complain about a large number of shortcomings in the bodywork.

In which countries and where is the Hyundai I40 assembled, factories in Russia

The Hyundai I40 is a bright representative of the D-class. In fact, this is a "purebred" Korean, which was released in 2011, and today is considered one of the leaders in sales (when compared with other models of the manufacturer).

By the way, the car appeared in the sedan body only a year later. Unlike many other models, Hyundai I40 is assembled only in South Korea, in the city of Ulsan.

Results

Thus, the production of Hyundai cars has been established in several dozen countries.

If we talk about Russia and the production of Hyundai for this country, the following points stand out here:

  • South Korea, Ulsan. The largest plant, where 70 percent of all Hyundai cars for export are produced.
  • The Taganrog plant (TAGAZ) assembled some Hyundai models until 2010.
  • In 2008, the construction of its own car plant in St. Petersburg began, which began producing cars already in 2010. The plant is still in operation today. It is located in the Kamenka area.
  • Turkey. There is also a large plant for Hyundai production. It has been operating since 1998 to the present day.

In addition to the countries listed above, Hyundai is going to China, the USA, the Czech Republic, Brazil and others. But cars from these states come to Russia less and less often or are not delivered at all.

As many have already noticed, in the last decade there has been a fashion for crossovers. Each company considers it its duty to present at least one model of this class to fans. It is worth noting that according to statistics, crossovers are indeed one of the best-selling cars on the modern market.
Photo: Hyundai Tucson 2017

As for the South Korean company Hyundai, at the moment its most successful crossover is the Hyundai Tussan. He intercepted this title from his predecessor, the Hyundai ix35, which was presented to the public back in 2008.

I would like to say right away that those motorists who, when purchasing a Hyundai Tussan, plan to acquire big SUV will be disappointed. After all, even with the naked eye it is noticeable that this crossover is just a little enlarged in size. a car. As confirmation of this, ground clearance Tussan is only 18 cm, which is hallmark any average "passenger car".

Motorists note the quality of the Hyundai Tussan. This figure is very high, regardless of the place of production of the crossover.

Hyundai Tussan is assembled at the factories of the following countries:

  • South Korea - the most powerful and productive plant, produces cars for the local market and for the Asian market;
  • Turkey is the second largest powerhouse that makes crossovers for the local market, for the African region and the markets of the Middle East countries;
  • The Czech Republic is a small South Korean branch, the only one in Europe that manufactures Hyundai Tussan. The plant assembles cars for the European market, the CIS countries and, in particular, Russia (there is unverified information that Czech Tussans are also exported to the USA).

In addition, there are branches of the South Korean company in India, Mexico and the USA, but Hyundai Tussan is not yet assembled on them. Although at the moment there are no plans to transfer production to these plants, company representatives do not deny the possibility of such a course of events.

Despite the fact that there is a lot of information on the Internet that Tussan is produced at domestic factories, this is not true. For Russia, as mentioned above, crossovers are supplied from the Czech Republic.

It is worth noting once again that the assembly quality of the Hyundai Tussan does not depend on the country of the manufacturer, since there are Korean specialists at each plant who carefully control the production process.

Was the Hyundai Tussan a good replacement for the ix35?

Now we will try to answer the question "Can Tussan replace the good old ix35?". To begin with, the design of both cars is based on the same modular body platform, from which we can already conclude that the cars are very similar. But there are many differences between them, each has its own characteristics.

First of all, I would like to note that if we compare the off-road qualities of the ix35 and Tussan, then the first one is significantly superior to its descendant. To be honest, this is one of the main shortcomings of the Tucson. Even the developers themselves do not hide the fact that the new crossover is able to move on a flat surface, and as soon as it gets off-road, it can fail abruptly. The situation is usually aggravated by rain, which is considered the main enemy of Tussan on a dirt road.

Photo: Hyundai Tussan and ix35

Often the suspension fails, with which problems occur. And if we take domestic road conditions, then with such a suspension you will not go far.

As for the interior, in this regard, Tussan is significantly ahead of its predecessor. The only thing that motorists may not like is the cheap plastic from which the dashboard is made. However, this can be easily put up with, as in general, the interior is very comfortable and spacious. The luggage compartment is able to fit about 500 liters of cargo, which can be called a very good indicator.

The exterior of the Hyundai Tussan looks very modern and ambitious. The developers managed to surprise motorists, because in appearance there are no notes of Asian style, which could not be said about the predecessor.

Tussan is perfect as a family city car.

In terms of handling is one of the best in the class. The only thing missing is a more powerful engine.

It is also worth noting that at the end of 2014, the Hyundai Tussan was recognized as one of the most safe cars released over the past few years. According to experts, the new crossover has set the bar for safety, to which other automakers should strive.

We hope that our article has become as useful as possible for you, you have formed your own opinion about the Hyundai Tussan.
