  • Stage 1. Removing the heater on the ShNiva is carried out as follows: first, disconnect the negative terminal on battery to prevent a short circuit to the case. The instrument panel for controlling the heating system is dismantled. The ventilation control knobs are removed. The recirculation lever is removed and the panel lining is removed. Behind the lining, screws are unscrewed with a screwdriver, and the backlight bulbs for the instrument panel of the heating system are removed. The terminal block is disconnected and the bolts securing the rods are unscrewed.
    The heater damper rods and the heater fan switch are disconnected. The heater is repaired, if required, and reinstalled in the reverse order.
  • Stage 2. Before proceeding with the removal of the radiator, you must buy a new radiator. Drain the antifreeze from the radiator and remove the air supply filter. To remove the filter, unscrew the housing screws. Disconnect the power wires for the electric fan and heater. We unscrew the screws that secure the fan and the heater itself. We remove the heating duct, which is designed to heat the legs of passengers sitting in front of the passengers. The heater mounting bracket is bent and the intermediate air duct is removed. The screws securing the radiator are unscrewed and all hoses attached to the radiator are removed. You can pull the radiator out of the casing. You can examine the radiator, but most likely there is a microcrack on it that you will not see. Having determined that the new radiator is identical in size and fastenings to the old one, we proceed to the installation. During installation, the main thing is not to damage the new radiator, especially with metal tools. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling.
  • Thus, having repaired the ventilation system, we check its performance.

Do-it-yourself alteration of the stove on Niva 21213 is necessary in case of a malfunction in the car's heating system. It is not worth delaying with this, because uneven thermal regulation leads to misted windows or icing. In any of these cases, the visibility of what is happening on the road worsens. A malfunction causes wear of individual elements of the device or a factory defect.

Troubleshooting

It will be necessary to remake the stove, supplied as standard, for preventive purposes. The procedure will not take much time, but it will prevent many problems in the future. Driving experience suggests that the first very coldy undermine the "health" of the device. List of major weaknesses as follows:

  • the optimal operating temperature range of model 2121 is from -5 to +10°С;
  • inability to warm up the air in the cabin if it is -8°C or lower outside;
  • with an increase in blowing power, there is no increase in temperature;
  • when driving in 2nd gear, the noise from the Niva stove becomes significant.

That is why it is better to take the necessary measures in advance. The driver has few alternatives. On the one hand, everything remains in its place. The heating device is used at minimum power. During mild winters, this is still tolerable, but with the advent of real cold weather, conditions will become unbearable. On the other hand, it is easy to spend a few hours to correct the situation.

Further development of events is as follows. If the heating in the car is running at ½ power, you can limit yourself to minor repairs. The main thing is to make sure that there are no noises and extraneous knocks, otherwise Niva 21213 should immediately go for a technical inspection.

It is recommended to place the engine in the air duct as low as possible, otherwise the device will rest against the hood. This should not be allowed, otherwise the stove fan will not last long.

  2. Slowly remove the motor power from the air duct. For this, an outlet is used.
  3. Proper installation means that the motor is securely fixed in the air duct. After that, all attachment points, without exception, are sealed with automotive sealant. It is highly recommended not to miss anything. Otherwise, due to vibration loads and the influence of external factors, the connection diagram of the stove will be violated.
  4. Take 2 stainless steel plates that adapt to the size of the nozzle and the top opening. Measurements are taken several times. Pedantry will eliminate the need for subsequent refinement.
  5. Using a wrench and a screwdriver, the valve installed by the manufacturer is removed. Tools must be used carefully. One careless move is enough for 21213 to require costly repairs.
  6. It is recommended to abandon another heating device in the car. The second stove will not add heat, but the load on the “engine” will increase several times.
  7. The process ends with the installation of a new duct with the engine.

The heating system of a new sample is checked by trial inclusion. It is recommended to smoothly switch modes. On each of them, the device should be at least 5-7 minutes. The task of the driver is to make sure that the operation of the system is not accompanied by extraneous noise and vibration.

As mentioned earlier, such a choice does not affect the quality of the heating system. At the same time, car mechanics make several reservations. For those who plan to use VAZ stoves, it would be useful to check the power system. Some versions are different. That is why all actions are consistent with the drawings.

It is allowed to use the VAZ 2108 heater, subject to two recommendations. First, 1-2cm planting nest over size devices. Additional area will reduce vibration impact. Secondly, the switch is installed taking into account the specifics of the VAZ heating system. Less fiddling around when minor system tweaks are needed.

The ventilation system is updated in 1-2 hours, depending on the degree of engine wear.

I am not cold in Niva 2121, but the feeling of temperature is different for each person, so maybe where I am warm, you will be cold. It is another matter to compare the temperature in the cabin after some time of engine operation, but unfortunately there is no standard thermometer in our cars.

What gives: already heated air from engine compartment, snow does not get into the air intake box; accordingly, it does not melt and does not freeze the windows in the cabin. Well, and most importantly, in the eighth family, it is initially noticeably warmer than in all previous VAZ cars (of course, it is necessary to compare serviceable cars). At least the fact that the power of the heater motor for chisels is 100 W for all the others is only 20 - feel the difference + the temperature of the coolant is higher.
