TIP: as we know, the cost of the box is not quite cheap and I do not advise saving on the quality of the oil. Of course, if possible, you can order original oil for a BMW box, but I bought MOBIL LT 71141 oil, the oil is not bad, unlike MOTTUL, this can be seen from the structure. MOBIL oil LT 71141 has an orange tint and is quite thick, MOTTUL oil is yellow and liquid, it reminded me of sunflower)) and is half the price per liter. The filter was also replaced, the crankcase was put on a sealant.

Hello everyone. Having traveled for a while, I found some revs floating in fifth gear in the range of 2000-2500. Having studied the information, I found out that there are two main reasons for this. Torque converter lockup or torque converter lockup valve. I decided to go the less costly way - replace the valve and at the same time change the oil, completely. I ordered the valve itself, the filter gasket and 10l oil. There will be few photos. The first thing that surprised me was that I drained the oil, the consistency was like hypoid, that is, very thick and black, the smell was like an ordinary transmission. Compared with the smell of oil from the canister, nothing in common. By outward signs no one climbed into the box before me. When removing the pallet, I expected to see pieces of friction clutches and a bunch of chips, a span, the pallet was clean, there was a thin pasty coating on the magnets. By the way, unscrewing the pallet bolts, I immediately decided that I would change them to stainless steel bolts. For two reasons. The first - I see no reason to overpay for the original bolts, the second - there will be no rust, which will not cause problems with the next oil change. I removed the valve body, without a pit or a Kama Sutra lift. I loosened all the bolts, then unscrewed the bolts in the middle, and put a jack under the stove, the stove is not light and it’s not very convenient to keep it lying down. After unscrewing all the bolts, slightly let go of the jack and disconnected the wires. Voila block in the hands. The block inside was not critically dirty. Cleaned everything, valves, springs. In general, I disassembled the block to the screw. Before installing, I decided to flush the system from old oil. I did it this way - I disconnected the tubes from the box, connected the supply hose to one, threw the hose from the second into the basin. Studying the washing methods, I learned that gasoline can be used for washing. I washed them. Flushing resembles the procedure for flushing injectors. Pump in a bucket with gasoline hose on the highway. I used a container, pumped air into it up to 2 atm. I washed it in 4 stages, let gasoline through the system, washed out all the dirt, then left gasoline in the system, waited 20 minutes and repeated the procedure. Until it runs clean. Then everything is the same in the opposite direction. Then I flushed the system with clean oil. Well, then everything is simple, block, filter, pan in place. I put the pallet in order, could not resist, sandblasted it and painted it with heat-resistant paint. I filled it with pumped oil. topped it up, rode it, topped it up a little more.
