Duster liquidity in the secondary market. Used Renault Duster: all the weak points of the model

Renault Duster meets with one of two 1.6-liter petrol engines, a two-liter unit using the same fuel, and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel.

"Fours" with a volume of 1.6 liters - K4M (102 hp) and 114-horsepower H4M (put on and assembled in Tolyatti) - are among the "perpetual" engines.

Duster 2011

Duster 2015

When choosing a used Duster, it is wiser to focus on restyled copies. Although they have gone since 2015, so there are still few such cars on the secondary market and they are expensive. But at updated crossover better sound insulation, more ergonomic interior, more interesting range of motors...

At the old man K4M serious problems does not occur even on runs over 200,000 km, - Valery Kanin, a specialist at the VRmotors technical center, who has been working with Renault cars for more than 15 years, shares his experience.

Sore spot - ignition coils (1,200 - 2,000 rubles apiece). They sometimes fail from dust, water and dirt, which on the first Dusters get under the hood through weak seals. To avoid this, the owners mount additional seals and experiment with third-party coils.

Also every 60 thousand km it is necessary to update the timing belt together with two rollers and a drive auxiliary units(8,300 rubles), and after every second replacement - also a pump. It costs 3,700 rubles with work.

You can forget about these problems by choosing a restyled Duster - it has an improved 1.6-liter H4M engine (aka HR16) with an aluminum cylinder block, trouble-free ignition coils and a timing chain drive designed for the entire life of the car.

The two-liter gasoline F4R also has a good resource - more than 300,000 km. However, after 150-200 thousand kilometers, he sometimes has an increased appetite for engine oil.

Cause - wear and tear oil scraper rings and piston group. To delay this moment, use strictly recommended by the manufacturer. engine oil and do not refuel at dubious gas stations, - Valery explained. - Of the general points on gasoline engines, I will also highlight frequent clogging throttle valve, as well as the unfortunate location of the oxygen sensor and generator: they are low and poorly protected from external influences. For example, if the protective shields of the generator are lost or damaged, then after 3-4 years it is tightly clogged with dirt, rusts and fails. Replacement will cost 15 thousand rubles.

Another problem node is the phase regulator. It dies on average by 120,000 - 150,000 km. As soon as the engine starts to click, get ready to shell out 11 thousand rubles. By the way, here and below are the prices for original spare parts. As practice shows, the non-original Duster is not much cheaper with unstable quality.

The top end often suffers from poor quality fuel. oxygen sensor: it is covered with soot, erroneously reads the data, as a result, the electronics incorrectly correct the composition fuel-air mixture. The car starts jerking when accelerating, and the engine uses more fuel and idles unevenly

The 109-horsepower 1.5 dCi K9K turbodiesel added 19 hp after restyling. (originally it was 90 hp) thanks to a more efficient variable geometry turbine and increased pressure in the fuel rail.

In my opinion, this is best motor for "Duster"- says Valery. - Because unpretentious. Often problems arise only when the owners pour anything into the tank. Then the piezoelectric injectors fail. If you do not change them in time (about 40,000 rubles per set), or, for example, miss the oil change interval, then you can earn cranking of the connecting rod bearings. So if the oil pressure light comes on on the dashboard, and strange “knock-knock-knock” starts from under the hood, turn off the engine and take the car to the service. I also advise you to clean the EGR valve from time to time, which is overgrown with soot. The culprit is the same - bad diesel fuel.

Transmission

Duster comes with both front-wheel drive and all four. At the moment, front-wheel drive cars are paired only with a 1.6-liter engine, a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed JR5 mechanics to choose from. But all-wheel drive versions are offered with all engines and transmissions (automatic or six-speed mechanical box TL8 gears). Exceptions: for turbodiesel and 1.6-liter engine, automatic transmission is not available

There are no complaints about mechanical gearboxes, but there are plenty of antediluvian four-speed automatic transmissions. At first this transmission was called - slow, dull and sluggish. But with this machine gun, the first Megans traveled 300-500 thousand km without any problems. And then they began to refine it, adapt it to the driving style and come up with “new” names like DP2 and DP8 ... From that moment on, everything became bad and the automatic transmission resource decreased to an average of 200 thousand km. The most common problem: the modulation valves that regulate the oil pressure in the valve body break. It is easy to determine the breakdown: when switching from first gear to second, kicks and even bumps appear.

One or both modulation valves die at about 70-120 thousand kilometers, and the replacement will cost a maximum of 15,000 rubles. You can, of course, save money by changing only the most worn valve, but I still recommend updating them in pairs and choosing the original ones - they last longer. And the rest of the machine is easy to maintain and does not present unpleasant surprises, if you do not forget to partially change every 30,000 km transmission oil, and also remember about the weak heat transfer of the entire assembly: the box must be thoroughly warmed up before starting, and in no case should it be overheated. The DP8 automatic machine on all-wheel drive versions copes better with the latter - it has additional radiator cooling.

There are no obvious complaints about all-wheel drive. Only, despite the fact that the oil in the gearbox and transfer case is filled for the entire service life, I strongly advise you to change the transmission at least once every 60,000 km. So extend the life of the units, - the expert explained.

suspension and steering

The reliability of the chassis and its operation is one of the most valuable advantages of the Duster, which we have clearly seen during numerous tests. Some parts, of course, fail, but only because Duster owners simply forget to slow down in front of potholes, pits and speed bumps. At this point, any technique will order to live long ... And so The wheel bearings will need to be replaced first.(3,500 rubles / piece), "running" an average of 50,000-100,000 km. The Duster's shock absorbers are also rather weak: they are changed in pairs to approximately 80,000 km - you will have to spend 8,500 rubles on the front and 7,000 rubles on the rear. If you overlook the wear of wheel bearings, steering tips with rods, then the steering rack bushing is killed, and then the rack itself. But it can be repaired - on average for 3,000 -7,000 rubles.

Renault Duster- one of the worthy and affordable compact crossovers that exist today. Due to its affordable price and high reliability, the car enjoys phenomenal popularity on secondary market.

Unfortunately, such popularity is not always good, because many dishonest sellers are trying to get rid of problem cars for a lot of money. Therefore, when purchasing a Renault Duster from hand, you need to know about it. vulnerabilities and design flaws.

It should be noted that the French crossover is built on the B0 platform. At its core, this Renault Logan having more powerful engines, long-travel suspension and a rigid body. Therefore, both the pros and cons of cars are very similar.

  • car paintwork;
  • electromagnetic clutch;
  • gearbox seal;
  • High pressure pump;
  • distribution box drive seals.

Now let's take a closer look...

Paintwork.

If the car is painted in metallic, then up to 50,000 kilometers paintwork will look very, very worthy. If it is covered with ordinary paint, then by 20 thousand mileage the colors may fade, and the car will lose its attractiveness. By the way, in this way, one can also evaluate the real Renault mileage Duster. After all, if the car looks frankly dull, and there is a small mileage on the speedometer, then the owner is clearly lying.

It is highly desirable to have a special device that measures the thickness of the paint layer. With the help of such a device, it is possible to detect painted elements in a few seconds, and, therefore, to find out whether the car was in an accident or not.

Electromagnetic clutch

Renault Duster uses a unique electromagnetic clutch that connects rear axle on heavy off-road. The coupling is quite reliable, but its electronic control raises a lot of complaints. If the car is kept in a humid place for a long time, then malfunctions are guaranteed.
Checking the adequacy of the electromagnetic clutch is very simple. It is enough to start the car and turn on the 4L mode. If the mode is turned on and the car and the “lower” works, everything is in order. If the “lower” does not turn on or if the on-board computer gives an error when it is turned on, the car has problems in electronic control.

Gearbox seal.

Factory defect. Weak and uneven crimping of the bearing has led to the fact that the gearbox oil seal cover does not fit snugly and is not screwed in one turn. Already after 10-20 thousand kilometers a leak appears, which can leave the gearbox without a significant amount of lubrication.

As a rule, this malfunction is eliminated at maintenance, but if the owner of the car did not visit the service center, then the oil seal may continue to leak until significant oil leakage, and as a result of a breakdown (wedge) of the gearbox.

Checking for leaks is very easy. After several hours of parking, a small oily stain will remain under the car.

Another nuisance, both five-speed and six-speed gearboxes, is their depressurization. Therefore, in any case, when buying a car, it is necessary, at a minimum, to drive the car into a pit and see possible gearbox oil leaks. After all, a gearbox is not a consumable item and costs quite a lot. Money, in case of replacement.

Drive seals transfer box(on all-wheel drive).

It cannot be said that this is a mass phenomenon, but some owners have encountered such a problem as leakage of the transfer case drive oil seals.

Engine high pressure pump (in diesels).

After 80-100 thousand mileage, the high-pressure pump of the engine begins to fail to do its job, which affects the power in the most negative way. It is not difficult to check the operation of the pump and the level of oil pressure in the lubrication system:

  1. Turn on the ignition. The red lights on the instrument panel will come on. The "Emergency oil pressure" light and the "No glow plugs" light should come on without fail;
  2. Then you need to start the engine. The lights should go out within 3 seconds. You need to let the motor run for a couple of minutes;
  3. Stop the engine and turn the ignition back on.
  • If the engine is in good condition and holds pressure in the lubrication system, then the "Emergency Oil Pressure" light will no longer be on, as the engine will maintain high pressure.
  • If the light is on again, then the pressure level in the motor is low and it is in a deplorable state.

The main disadvantages of Renault Duster:

  • small side mirrors;
  • no longitudinal adjustment of the steering column;
  • poor sound insulation;
  • satisfactory ergonomics;
  • the fuel level display freezes;
  • "crickets" in the cabin, especially in winter;

Conclusion.

Above are listed weak sides Duster, the repair of which can cost a substantial amount for the new owner. But it is worth paying attention that the car of this model also has a number of other malfunctions, but if they are eliminated, this will not affect a significant reduction in the size of the wallet.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that depending on which engine the car has, the number of Renault Duster diseases also depends. But according to the reviews of many owners of Renault cars of this model, the Duster with a 1.6 liter engine is considered the most trouble-free. In general, Renault Duster is not bad car in the price-quality ratio. When buying a car and the inability to visit a car service, you must carefully inspect the car, starting from the state of the paintwork of the body and ending with the mileage on this car.

P.S.: We will be grateful if you describe the main disadvantages and frequent breakdowns your car of this brand, identified during operation.

    Renault Duster 1.6 front-wheel drive, issue 2015 (restyling)
    In general, I am satisfied with the machine. Small do-it-yourself improvements:
    1. Immediately put the nets on the radiator grill so that dust and pebbles do not fly into the engine compartment.
    2. I put a rubber seal under the hood (from the door 2108) so that the engine does not get dirty.
    3. Painted the rear drums with a black primer, otherwise they began to rust.
    4.Zamenit washer jets. I put it with a rubber seal so that anti-freeze does not drip onto the engine.
    5.Replaced a year later wipers for longer and bezkarkasnye. The table is cleaner glass.
    In winter, the hood latch froze in frost. Sprayed with defroster and closed the hood.
    That's all for the year of operation and 14,000 kilometers.
    Another buggy fuel level sensor.
    I began to refuel until the “shooting” of the pistol at gas stations, and not to the eyeballs.
    Now it seems to show normally, although I'm used to the arrow.
    Consumption is about 6 liters per 100 km., If you drive quietly.
    In damp weather, the glass fogged up at first. I suffered for a long time, drove the air conditioner, and then got used to it: without air conditioning, I immediately warm up the interior and there was no fogging.
    Like the trunk: to give just right.
    In general, for a budget owner and for medium off-road, a suitable car.
    On the track goes well and economically.
    According to the primer, even front-wheel drive with large clearance quite satisfied.
    So, gentlemen, who do not have financial problems Please, buy jeeps and don't hate Duster.

    Operation Duster 2 liters 4 * 4 5 years
    Mileage 140000.
    As for the paint, you are right - chips appear quickly, but only the top layer does not entail any corrosion at all, only aesthetics suffer, but this car is budgetary and the neighbor also got paint in the first year without going through 15,000 but on the taureg for 3 million - this is a disorder in man was!
    AT running changer ball bushings and I advise everyone to change the front lever assembly and the original.
    This is justified in terms of money and further mileage.
    Worst of all things are with the threads of the firmware of the steering wheel and the gearshift lever - they began to tear due to wiping already at 40,000 - I had to apply the cover for now.
    And now I'm waiting for the next generation and I hope that there will be electric power steering
    And then the backside is good to go, and all the bumps in the road on your hands are felt, which, as it were, is not very good with constant operation, and in the city, if the steering wheel is easier, it will only be good.
    This is the only thing that bored me during this time.
    I also want to say in defense of heated seats.
    Everyone who is not too lazy to slander him - cabbage rolls who did not drive a car !!!
    Heating is automatic - when the desired temperature is reached, it turns off and then works as needed. So I turn it on in September and I turn it off for the summer in May - and I don’t bother with determining which division to leave it in as in Koreans or who, turning on the car from auto start in frost, like in Volkswagens, additionally run to press the heating buttons 1-3 degrees of heating and still wait so that the ass does not freeze !!!
    And here it is budgetary and everything is as it should be for your beloved priests - and the prostate is good !!!
    Thank you!

    Duster 2 liters, 4*4, 2017 "privilege" mileage 26000
    Disadvantages: poor visibility (small mirrors), lack of an engine temperature gauge, getting in and out of the car without getting dirty is a problem. The inability to connect the passenger seat heating, but it's hard to find your own. The lack of a constant indication of time, total and daily mileage is very annoying. All this is in the computer, but constantly switching while driving is distracting, especially when the computer reverses. does not have, you have to switch in a circle. The gasoline level indicator with its squares is not very convenient. The rear window is constantly dirty and you have to turn on the wipers when driving on a wet road after rain or during rain. Heated side mirrors leave much to be desired.
    Advantages: good engine, heating windshield, trunk, hodovka.

If official dealers, who are forced to take for sale everything that the client sells in trade-in, there is practically no choice, then independent sellers have much more freedom. They can afford not to get involved with some illiquid models. Therefore, such machines can often be found on official sites. Are they worth buying? It's up to you, of course. Our advice: if you plan to drive such a car for a short time (for example, about a year), then no. There may be implementation issues. And if you choose a car "for the soul" or as a weekend car, then why not. So what are these cars? Auto expert Yegor Mokshin told ZR what factors affect the liquidity of a used car.

Factors that reduce the liquidity of a car in the secondary market

  • Price. Overpriced used cars are waiting for a buyer for a long time. There are two reasons for the high price. Firstly, some models initially, even in the primary market, have a higher price compared to the cost of classmates of other brands. On the secondary, this becomes a disadvantage. Secondly, the car owners themselves often own their cars, remembering how much effort and money was invested.
  • Brand positioning. Sometimes some manufacturers the lineup which consists mainly of budget models, suddenly they release an expensive one, with a claim to premium. However, in the eyes of consumers, such a car still has a lower status. Also, many buyers are guided by national criteria when choosing. Some Korean, Chinese and even French brands (in particular, Citroen) are still not held in high esteem.
  • Equipment. Many buyers are still skeptical about robotic boxes gears and variators due to the widespread opinion about their lack of reliability. Also certain groups of engines: small engines (displacement less than 1.4 liters) with turbocharging and, conversely, gasoline units with excessive power and displacement (due to too much transport tax). Traditionally, poor equipment in combination with a manual transmission is not in demand.
  • The rarity and specificity of the model. Brands and models that are in limited demand in the primary market and have a narrow target audience (for example, Alfa Romeo) hang for a long time on used car sites.

The main factors that determine liquidity are unchanged, but the list of objectionable models changes every season. The selection of illiquid assets in the second half of 2017 was compiled based on statistics from various sites for the sale of used cars: from official dealers to independent car dealerships and auctions. It collected relatively worth up to 1,000,000 rubles. They open a selection of models that sank significantly for unknown reasons or were not initially popular.

Renault Duster (RENAULT Duster) is the most affordable of the European compact crossovers presented on the secondary market. The phrase " affordable crossover» immediately attracts a lot of buyers, so when the car first appeared on sale, the queues for the most inexpensive trim levels lasted for months. But can inexpensive car be reliable? Now let's try to figure it out.

Few facts:

Renault Duster is built on the "B0" platform, "" and "" are also built on it. This relationship gives the car a good head start over competitors, as Logan and Note have a very good reputation. Officially, the Duster was introduced at the end of 2009, and in 2010 its European sales started. In the CIS, these cars became available in 2012, most of the cars we sell are assembled at the Avtoframos Moscow plant.

Advantages and disadvantages of Renault Duster with mileage

The paintwork of the body is not very durable and is quickly covered with chips and scratches. Inspection of the car should start from the roof. Do not be surprised if you find cracks in the paint in the area of the drains, the weak bending rigidity of the body is to blame. Also, the body metal cannot boast of good corrosion resistance, most often, rust appears under rubber seals, on the edges of doors and trunk. The rear arches also require special attention. Many owners of cars with regular alloy wheels complain about the rapid imbalance of the wheels, this is due to the fact that on inside The disc has a groove that can only be cleaned by hand. Headlights sweat on many cars, and the Duster is no exception; another unpleasant little thing is the leak of the washer reservoir pump seal.

Renault Duster is equipped with two petrol engines - 1.6 (102 hp), 2.0 (135 hp), and one diesel - 1.5 (90 hp). For cars with diesel engine traction failures are possible. This happens mainly in the cold season and at the moment - the reason has not been identified. The most reliable was Gas engine 1.6, in which not a single sore was detected for the entire line of operation. But the two-liter engine can not boast of such reliability. Most often, with the onset of cold weather, the owners blame for difficult engine starting; there are also complaints about extraneous noise in the timing belt area, servicemen sin on the belt itself and the pump, but, at the moment, they have not come to a common solution to get out of this situation. Most owners continue to operate a car with this defect, taking it for technical feature power unit.

Transmission.

The Renault Duster was equipped with a five- and six-speed gearbox, as well as a four-speed automatic. If you are considering buying a car with mechanics, then be sure to check the oil level in it - there are cases of factory underfilling, and the current owner could not keep track of this. There have never been serious problems with the five-speed mechanics, but the six-speed one, occasionally, can bring surprises. Depressurization of the box is possible, which means that the working fluid is leaking and, as a result, the box wedges. If we talk about the transmission in general, then the automatic transmission and the five-speed mechanics are simple and reliable, there were unpleasant incidents with the six-speed mechanics.

Duster can be not only front-wheel drive, but also all-wheel drive. The main ailment of all-wheel drive versions is the leakage of oil seals of the transfer case drives. The reason is a crooked box with bearings. Sometimes, all-wheel drive cars have an unpleasant failure - when driving with the all-wheel drive the system may spontaneously switch to monodrive. Turning the ignition off and on again helps solve the problem.

Reliability running Renault Duster

The suspension of the car, despite the small resource of some parts, is quite reliable. The design of the rear suspension for mono-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options is different: in the first case, there is an ordinary beam at the back, in the second case, the suspension is independent. In cold weather, the suspension may make unpleasant sounds, but this is not scary, and after a little warming up, they disappear; due to freezing grease, CV joints may crunch. Weak spot in the front and rear suspension Renault Duster, like most modern cars, turned out to be bushings and stabilizer struts, they have to be changed about once every 20 - 30 thousand km.

The softness of the suspension quickly disaccustoms to slow down when driving tram tracks and other irregularities, as a result, shock absorbers rarely take care of more than 30,000 km, although their resource is 50 - 60 thousand km (replacing one will cost 50 - 60 USD). Silent blocks and ball bearings, on average, will last 60-70 thousand km (both parts change as an assembly with levers, cost up to 40 USD). Also, not the most hardy and rear wheel bearings, you will have to change every 60,000 km, but they can buzz even earlier, but the front ones are more hardy and can last 120 - 150 thousand kilometers. The scheduled replacement interval for the front brakes is 40,000 km, the rear - 60,000, be sure to service the calipers when replacing.

Salon

The interior trim is made of budget materials, so you should not be surprised at the appearance of crickets, especially when it's cold outside. In some cars, sitting in the driver's seat, you can feel a draft in the area of the left leg, in order to eliminate the drawback, you need to fix the foam pad near the hood opening handle. All Renault Dusters, except for the version with a 1.6 engine, are equipped with an additional electric interior heater, which works intermittently on many cars, especially on diesel versions. The reason is a software failure.

Over time, water appears in the cabin, this is due to the displacement of the air distribution unit or its cracking. As a result, the condensate formed during the operation of the air conditioner enters the passenger compartment. In vehicles manufactured after 2013, the manufacturer has eliminated this shortcoming. Also, with sudden changes in temperature, moisture may form between the roof and the upholstery; a signal of its presence will be condensate in the ceiling of the interior lighting lamp. Sometimes, owners complain about incorrect fuel gauge data and freezing on-board computer. In both cases, turning the ignition off and back on will help fix the problem.

Outcome:

Renault Duster is a fairly reliable and inexpensive car to maintain, and in general, many owners are satisfied with it. driving performance although there are still complaints. It is worth noting that the maintenance and repair of the all-wheel drive version is much more expensive. Under normal operation and understanding of the purpose of a non-frame crossover, Duster will rarely present negative emotions.

Advantages:

  • Reliable power units.
  • Power suspension.
  • Clearance.
  • Controllability.
  • Patency.

Flaws:

  • Not enough engine dynamics when overtaking.
  • Weak paint finish.
  • Noise isolation.
  • The quality of interior materials.
  • Hanging fuel gauge and on-board computer.

If you are the owner of this car model, please describe the problems that you had to face during the operation of the car. Perhaps it is your review that will help readers of our site when choosing a car.

Sincerely, the editors of AutoAvenue

Renault Duster has become a bestseller literally from the very beginning of sales - the queues for the first cars stretched up to 12 months (now the demand for the current generation of the model has fallen dramatically - the “Frenchman” has put the “Korean” on both blades). The main argument of the manufacturer in the fight for the client was the optimal combination of price, quality and functionality. At the same time, buyers were ready to put up with controversial ergonomics, cheap finishing materials and poor sound insulation of this compact crossover. Indeed, in the content of the car seemed affordable, unpretentious and maintainable. But over time, it turned out that all this is far from the case.

Built on the B0 platform, which became the basis for many budget models of the brand. So, the Duster body is not durable, which is why cracks appeared on the roof on the first cars at the points of its connection with rear pillars. This problem even caused a recall campaign. The French responded fairly quickly by lengthening the weld on the roof and body pillars. However, the SUV body still cannot boast of decent torsional rigidity. Owners of even relatively fresh cars often complain about windshields bursting for no apparent reason and rear windows, as well as difficult tearing off of the doors when the car is hung diagonally.

The durability of the body is quite high, but the paintwork is weak. Chips appear most quickly on rear arches. It should be noted that on the Renault Duster, in relation to the side body panels, the wheel arches protrude noticeably. Therefore, they get dirt and sand flying from under the front wheels. Dealers usually repaint these places under warranty, and the owners seal them with "armored" tape. Officials also often painted the tailgate due to the appearance under the chrome trim with the name "Duster". Thresholds, the lower part of doors and wings periodically need the master's brush. Painting one element of the body - from 10,000 rubles.

As for body parts, the prices for the original are quite high. Bumpers cost an average of 15,000, and fenders sell for 10,000 rubles. Many crossover owners advise immediately after purchase to replace regular ones with frameless ones: drivers 550 or 600 mm long and passenger 500 mm in size. The fact is that the wipers that come with the new Duster leave a decent uncleaned sector on the windshield right in front of the driver.

The Renault Duster was equipped with gasoline "fours" with a volume of 1.6 liters (102 hp) and 2.0 liters (135 forces), as well as a 1.5-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 90 forces. After restyling in 2015, gasoline engines began to produce 114 and 143 hp. respectively, and diesel - 109 forces. And 1.6-liter units are generally considered trouble-free. But this is in general, but in particular ...

The good old K4M has been installed on many Renault models since the 90s. Of the congenital sores of this motor, only oil leakage through gaskets and seals after 100,000 km of run and unreliable ignition coils (from 1250 rubles apiece) can be distinguished. The main thing is to update the timing belts and drive attachments every 60,000 km, and at the same time the water pump (from 2,500 rubles), which, as a rule, does not live up to the second belt replacement. The 114-horsepower "four" with the H4M index that came to replace it is also hassle-free. And an indirect confirmation of its reliability is the fact that a durable chain is installed in the drive of the gas distribution mechanism of this motor.

The two-liter F4R unit, well known to specialists, is a long-liver. True, the weak point of this motor is the failure of the phase regulator after 100,000 km of run. If the engine began to work with a clattering sound, lost traction and reacted lazily to the accelerator pedal, prepare about 15,000 rubles to replace the assembly. At risk are also oxygen sensors (5,500 rubles each) and a generator (from 12,800 rubles). By the way, these parts often fail due to dust and dirt that penetrate under the hood through poor-quality seals. Owners usually change regular anthers to similar ones from the Gazelle.

The durability of a 1.5-liter K9K turbodiesel depends on the quality of the oil used. There were times when, due to oil starvation, it turned connecting rod bearings. And this is an overhaul of the engine with all the ensuing consequences. Surrogate fuel can cause failure of the injection nozzles (11,000 rubles each) and the fuel pump (28,000 rubles). If you pour high-quality special fluids into the motor, then it will serve faithfully for a very long time. No wonder Renault mechanics consider him one of the best in motor range Duster.

There are practically no complaints about mechanical five- and six-speed gearboxes. It can be noted, perhaps, that the manual gearbox oil seals sweat after 75,000 km. Replacement will pull about 6000-9500 rubles, of which the lion's share will have to work. Therefore, most users prefer to drive as is, periodically monitoring the oil level in the box. There are many complaints about the six-speed drive - the first gear is very short here, so the manufacturer even recommends starting off from the second “speed” on asphalt. Apparently, such a calibration of the transmission is designed for off-road, for driving uphill or uphill ... The clutch will have to be updated after an average of 100,000 km, and replacing it will cost about 8,500 rubles.

There are many more questions. "Automatic" DP8, which became another revision of the old, slow and problematic DP0 or AL4, which was installed on various models a couple of decades ago. Moreover, recently the resource of the box has grown significantly - now a major overhaul is required closer to 150,000 km. Most often, the valve body causes problems. Depending on the breakdown, repairs will have to spend from 10,000 to 30,000 rubles. The torque converter and band brake are also at risk.

But for what users say “Duster” separate words of gratitude, it's for its comfortable and energy-intensive suspension, which also turned out to be very strong. Even the struts and bushings of the front stabilizer are usually changed after 40,000-50,000 km, and shock absorbers often last twice as long. Perhaps, only the front wheel bearings are knocked out of the general row, which can fail already at the 30th thousand. They change only in assembly with the hub and knuckle for 17,000 rubles.

In steering, the rod ends may come out ahead of time (1,800 rubles each), and by 70,000-100,000 km the rail itself will knock. It costs 25,000 rubles, but it can be easily restored (5,000-8,000 rubles).

Electrical equipment is simple, and therefore quite reliable. Among the weak points, we note the failure of the outdoor lighting stalk switch. According to servicemen, due to the tight layout, the wires sometimes break. Often the dipped beam bulbs and dimensions burn out. True, light elements are cheap, and they change simply and easily. What can not be said about the backlight bulbs of the ventilation and heating system unit, which have to be updated with the dismantling of the unit from the center console. In the air conditioning system, the condenser is short-lived (25,000 rubles from dealers) - this is the weak point of almost all Dusters.
