The conventional wisdom that the “gallery” ZAZ Chance is crowded, somewhat far-fetched. Three adults can easily sit on the back sofa, although it will be uncomfortable for those who sit in the center - their legs will rest against the transmission tunnel. The two in the back row are quite comfortable, especially if they are not “Uncle Styopa”. I invited an editorial photographer to sit there, whose height is 186 cm, and the gap between his crown and the ceiling was about 1 cm, his knees were again a centimeter from the back front seat. At my 175 cm, I sat in the back without any problems and did not feel constrained. The only thing I didn’t like was that you touched the non-folding ceiling handrail with your head.

Trunk ZAZ Chance a volume of 320 liters, of course, is not a record holder, but the rear seat backs can be folded in a 60/40 ratio, increasing the compartment to 958 liters. In this case, a flat floor is not formed, however, you can carry long lengths. Under the raised floor lies a full-size spare tire, and this is another advantage that practical owners will appreciate.

ZAZ Chance promotion on Russian market takes place under the corporate slogan “A car for life”, that is, the manufacturer emphasizes, first of all, the utilitarian qualities of the car. Our experience has shown that Chance is indeed a good choice for those who do not want to overpay for the latest technology and design.

The sedan that turned out to be on our test is offered in our country with one of three gasoline engines - a 1.3-liter 70-horsepower unit of the Melitopol Motor Plant, a 1.5-liter 86-horsepower engine, known from Daewoo Nexia, and, as in our case, with a 1.4-liter 101-horsepower Korean-made engine. At the same time, 1.3- and 1.5-liter units are combined with "mechanics", 1.4-liter - with "automatic".

It is important that the aggregate base of the test machine (a 1.4-liter gasoline engine and a 4-band “automatic” with a torque converter) was borrowed from Chevrolet Aveo of the previous generation, which is a definite plus, since this bundle is reliable and has been tested for years. Of course, the test car costs significantly more than the base 1.3-liter modification for 275,000 rubles: cars in S and SX trim levels are offered for 409,000 and 419,000 rubles, respectively.

In motion Chance is quite dynamic - thanks to a vigorous 101-horsepower engine and a small curb weight - 1194 kg. The performance of the power unit is more than enough for urban use, but fast overtaking becomes a problem on the highway: it will not work to make a sharp leap forward from a speed of 100 km / h.

automatic box gears are not characterized by jerks when switching, as well as strong delays when activating the “kickdown”. Although the box does not have a manual and sports modes, the nature of the acceleration can still be changed. The “HOLD” key enters a ban on high revs engine and is, in fact, an analogue of the winter mode, which makes it easier, in particular, to start on a slippery road. You can also move the selector to position "2" or "1", not allowing the box to switch to higher gears. This mode is especially useful when acceleration is required from medium speeds or, for example, when driving uphill and downhill, when for a number of reasons it is necessary to activate downshift.

The suspension is perhaps the main trump card of the Ukrainian sedan. The chassis is characterized by good energy intensity, which means that Chance is not afraid of pits and joints, which are often found in Russian cities. At the same time, the suspension is soft - with sudden changes and on the asphalt waves of the highway, horizontal and vertical buildup appear. However, despite this, the car holds the trajectory well and quickly stabilizes after sharp maneuvers.

Steering, equipped with a hydraulic booster, allows you to feel acceptable contact with the road during a measured ride. However, it is worth driving with a twinkle, and the steering wheel, which pleased with the information content, becomes too light, and in bundles of turns, the force on the rim changes illogically. Nevertheless, the “steering wheel” does not become completely “amorphous”, which allows you to control the car in all cases.

But the braking dynamics is frankly mediocre. Disc brakes are used only on the front wheels, rear brakes are drum. The pedal has a very long travel, the active stage of deceleration begins when you push it almost to the floor. Moreover, Chance is not equipped not only with a stabilization system, but also with ABS, which is available in the top trim levels of its closest competitors - Renault Logan and Lada Granta. As it was possible to find out in the ZAZAVTORUS representative office, it is possible to install an anti-lock braking system on Chance. Moreover, it is planned to equip this system, but this is unlikely to happen before 2014. On the other hand, I was pleased that even without ABS and ESP, the sedan brakes predictably, without jumping off the trajectory.

So, the Ukrainian car copes with the tasks of daily operation assigned to it. At the same time, ZAZ Chance demonstrates acceptable dynamics and predictable behavior on the road, as well as adaptability to Russian realities ( ground clearance 170 mm, reliable power units, productive heating system). And if you need a practical and unpretentious "workhorse", then this car is quite possible to look closely.

Additional Arguments

Marketers of the Ukrainian company believe that the car will be popular with students, state employees, residents of the regions, and also as a corporate vehicle. A full-fledged four-year warranty with a mileage limit of 120 thousand km and low prices for spare parts and maintenance speak in favor of the “Ukrainian”. True, the service interval is only 10 thousand km - less than that of competitors. Significantly, the body of the machine is made of Belgian galvanized steel, and it has a six-year warranty against corrosion. Finally, the top-end SX sedan that we tested is well equipped: air conditioning, driver airbag, front power windows, heated front seats and mirrors, fog lights, central locking.

This is my first review, and I would like to impartially talk about the experience of owning a 2011 ZAZ Chance 1.5 car. It was my first car. When buying, I was guided by the following criteria:

Budget up to 200 000 rubles,

The presence of an air conditioner and power steering is mandatory,

Low mileage up to 60,000 km,

The car is not older than five years.

June 2015. After examining all sorts of options, both domestic and foreign, my eyes settled on Chance 1.5 2011 with a low mileage of 34,000 km and mechanical box gears. One owner. The docks are fine. There was no service book. Good condition interior, unworn steering wheel, standard unworn summer tires, a thorough inspection of the car by a familiar mechanic confirmed the fact that the mileage was most likely not twisted and the car was little used. It was decided to purchase this car. There were jambs on the body, it was required to replace the deformed corrugation on the muffler, and after bargaining the price was 180,000 rubles. In our city, many taxi drivers still drive Chevrolet Lanos, and at that time it seemed to me that this budget car would not cause me serious problems during its operation for at least a couple of years.

Unfortunately, at that time I was still not aware that the Chevrolet Lanos of 2005-2010 and the ZAZ Chance, which they began to produce after, are completely two different car in terms of manufacturing quality and operational reliability. But first things first.

First of all, I fixed the found shoals and carried out a small MOT. The muffler corrugation was overcooked in a car service (2000 rubles + 2000 rubles work), I changed the oil to Shell Helix HX8 5/30 (1600 rubles + 400 rubles for work) and all the filters.

The first small problem got out after two months. At one point, I discovered that the size bulbs had burned out, as well as the license plate lighting lamp. In the nearest car service, these troubles were quickly eliminated. But in the process of work, the mechanic noticed a malfunction on the front shock absorbers. After the examination, they were identified and shown to me to leak. The replacement cost relatively inexpensively at 4,000 rubles, of which 2,000 rubles. gave for work.

A month later, something strange began to happen to the engine. The car began to start 2-3 times and stall for idling. At that time, I had no experience in repairing a car, and especially its engine, and again I went to car services in order to find out and fix the cause. But it turned out to be difficult. Engine diagnostics (500 rubles) showed errors mostly related to the oxygen sensor. Replacing the spark plugs (500 rubles) also did not lead to the elimination of the malfunction. Finally another master revealed the blockage throttle valve and the need for cleaning. I did it quickly (250 rubles for liquid + 600 rubles for work), and the car again, as if nothing had happened, stopped stalling on Idling.

Autumn came, it was October, and at the first cold snap on one "beautiful" morning, my Chance could not start at all ... I called a mechanic friend, he correctly oriented me about the battery. I called a taxi, lit a car, and I went back to the service. They immediately diagnosed that the battery was to be replaced, as the electrode plates were destroyed.

Sezdil, bought, price 2650 rubles. and in the service it was replaced (400 rubles for work), and the car started up again properly. Then for the first time I thought that my thoughts about the fact that the car does not require investments did not fully justify itself. Through good friends, I was prompted by a car service that specializes in the repair and maintenance of Chevrolet Lanos / Zaz Chance. Plus I found the only one special shop in our city where you can buy spare parts for my car. To my surprise, and contrary to the words of the former owner, the search for these parts and consumables was not such an easy task.

November. The first night frosts hit. And in the morning I was really fucked up. Frozen gearbox. And so that gear shifting was almost unreal in the first 5-10 minutes from the moment the engine was started. The car warmed up really very slowly, I had to warm it up for 15 minutes and at the same time slowly develop the gearbox so that the oil inside it spread and “thawed out”. Only after that I could start and go. I tried to warm it up on the go, but it was very uncomfortable, and sensitive jerks accompanied each gear change. I called the service, they advised me to change the oil in the box to synthetic transmission. They say very bad oil is poured into the box from the factory. I left the car with them overnight, in the morning they confirmed my problem, and I agreed to an oil change (1450 rubles oil + 550 labor). But the problem has not been completely resolved. It got better, but very coldy the situation has always been the same.

As for the operation of the car in the autumn and spring, I also want to note the problem of strong fogging of the windows. Even blowing the windows with an air conditioner does not completely solve this problem. I always had to carry dry microfiber cloths with me to wipe the windows inside the car. It is very inconvenient and dangerous when, on the move, a car can suddenly turn into an aquarium in which nothing is visible through the windshield or side glass. As for the operation in winter, the car is really cold. Often the stove warmed up the interior only by the time I arrived at work. My attempt to improve the operation of the stove by replacing all the antifreeze with a new one, as well as replacing the thermostat (500 rubles + 300 rubles work) did not solve the problem at all. There are no mirror and windshield heating, so I had to manually clear the whole thing of ice 2-3 times a day.

That autumn began serious problems with pendant. I began to notice more and more that there were extraneous sounds from under the wheels and under the hood. Suspension diagnostics at 37,000 km of run revealed the following malfunctions:

Replacement of the left ball joint (rivet) is required (600 rubles + 650 rubles work)

It is required to replace the bypass roller of the air conditioning belt (a whistle was detected when the engine was running) (600 rubles + 250 rubles work)

It is required to replace the front shock absorbers, anther (support cup) (5540 + 1000 + 2000 rubles for work)

Clutch replacement kit (5400 + 3000 rub. work)

As for the shock absorbers, it seems that they were delivered to me in the first service used. Stupidly lit by inexperience. And at the same time I started replacing the clutch, since it began to grab at the very end, which was not very convenient. The first owner of the car was also inexperienced, so we probably “killed” him for two already at 37,000 km. To be honest, I didn’t spare money for my first car then, I wanted to keep it in good technical condition, especially since I often traveled with a small child. Replaced all of the above, although it resulted in a fairly serious amount for such a budget car. Fortunately, the next six months, no more problems with the car arose.

Now about personal feelings from Zaz Chance. In the city, the power of the engine, in principle, is enough. It's getting harder on the track. I do not advise accelerating more than 100-110 km / h, as the car starts to scour the lane, is unstable, the engine is gaining more than 3000 rpm and roaring. Overtaking trucks is often problematic and unsafe. There is practically no soundproofing in the car. The front parting panel rattles, which does not eliminate the feeling of cheapness of the car. The suspension rattles and makes its way on any bumps in the road. Looking ahead, I note that most of the suspension elements are consumables that had to be changed frequently. In two years of ownership, spending a lot of money, I could not get it to work properly. The design of the car is obsolete. The salon, however, seemed to me more comfortable and attractive than in domestic cars. The air conditioner blows normally, in the summer there were no complaints about it. Established oak tires that summer that winter. No regular music. The body is galvanized, there was no rust. But by the sixth year I noticed two bugs on the roof. The dipped headlights are terrible, especially at night and in the rain. Changed light bulbs to more powerful ones, zero effect (Philips H4 3200K Vision + 30% 400 rubles)

A year after purchase, the problem with the throttle repeated. Again, the car began to stall at idle. I went to the service, washed it, everything was fine again. At the same time, I filled the air conditioner by the fifth year of the car's life, since it stopped cooling (1750 rubles). Did MOT run (46,000 km) with oil and filter changes. I did the suspension diagnostics, and again the problems came to light:

Replacing the front hub bearings (2680 + 2000 rub. work)

Replacing the front brake hoses, stupidly rotted (740 + 700 rubles work)

Replacing the rear brake pads (1400 + 850 rubles work)

Replacing the anther of the outer CV joint (1100 + 1200 rubles work)

Replacement of the working brake cylinder (1020 + 500 rub. work)

Got upset. But there was nothing to do and all of the above was replaced with a new one. Then for the first time I thought about selling because of the constant considerable investments. And a month later they knocked again, and then the front shock absorbers flowed. I drove into the service, there, in addition to the shock absorbers, they also sentenced the front struts. Plus, the master pointed out the need to replace the cracked timing belt, as well as the camshaft oil seal.

Total turned out:

Replacing the front support struts (4250 rubles)

Replacing the timing belt with a pump (5270 + 2500 rubles work)

Replacing the camshaft oil seal (210 + 150 rubles work)

Regular unplanned investments in cars only approved my idea of ​​the need to sell it. Having planned this business for the spring, as the best time to sell, I began to raise money for new car by analyzing offers on the market.

In the spring, the head unit suddenly broke down. I took the cheapest replacement. There was an unpleasant rattling sound from the front suspension. Diagnostics showing what it is steering rack. Adjusting it for a while hid the sound, but I was warned that the problem would most likely return. Moreover, the prices for them were called cosmic (about 40,000 rubles). I urgently put the car on Avito. To my surprise, they took the car for a week for 145,000 rubles. Some Armenian bought it for his brother as a first. Perhaps this is the fate of this car.

What is the result. Net investment in it for 2 years, including signalization, maintenance, navigator, maintenance, consumables and spare parts amounted to almost 90,000 rubles. that is, half of its market value. In my opinion, this is a morally obsolete car that is neither reliable nor cheap to maintain. I would not recommend it to people who cannot service it themselves, as it is quite expensive.

The tram rolled on the right inevitably, like fate itself. I have already seen the distorted physiognomy of the carriage driver, literally hanging on the lever of the sound signal - a piercing trill was approaching ... A minute ago, my "Chance" stalled at the intersection tram tracks and completely refused to move. At the turn of the key in the ignition lock, from somewhere under the front panel, only a fading pi-and-and was heard, and it smelled suspiciously of smoke ...

The 11-ton car filled with grateful audience stopped nearby, and I, leaving attempts to revive the engine, was already pushing the car to the side of the road. The very first day of acquaintance with the Ukrainian hatchback brought unexpectedly sharp impressions.

Settling for little

If someone in Soviet times said that the Zaporozhets was better than the Zhiguli, he would be ridiculed. But "Lanos", assembled at the same factory, from the gates of which "eared" and "humped" once left, turned out to be better than any modern VAZ model. Other Chevrolets still serve in taxis and traffic police, and in terms of popularity, an unpretentious, but unpretentious sedan was second only to Logan. But the contract to use the Chevrolet brand expired, and demand for the car remained high. The idea to keep it on the market, albeit under a different sign, lay on the surface.

And how well it all began ... In the morning, looking at the silver five-door Chance for the first time, no matter how hard I tried, I did not find any shagreen paint, or uneven body gaps. The change of emblem did not affect the quality in any way. The body is still solidly welded, painted and assembled. Yes, and the brainchild of the Italdesign studio still looks quite up to par. Rustic? Yes. Without fashionable artistic delights? Undoubtedly. But how is the modern ZAZ inferior to the fat "Kalina" or the even more puffy "Priore"?

Adding light alloy wheels to it or at least covering the stamped black wheels with decorative caps would have turned out even elegantly. However, Lanos did not have such aesthetic excesses either. Yes, and buyers of budget cars are by definition undemanding people, accustomed to being content with little, right?

So don’t be angry that the Chance tailgate does not always open the first time - the lock wedges. Get used to the fact that the rear shelf can be removed only by patiently unscrewing the rubber fasteners. A chore? Yes, nonsense ... But even a huge kinescope TV will fit in the hold of a 5-door ZAZ! "Lanos"-sedan would not be worthy of such cargo exploits.

In a word, this machine needs to learn to forgive. Here it was painfully attached to the steering wheel, which has no adjustments, and it is located too close to the seat cushion. I endure. Then it turned out that the driver, who dared to grow more than 185 cm, simply rested his head on the ceiling. But for me, with a more modest growth, it will do. By the way, all the flaws in ergonomics, as well as in general, to put it mildly, not the most magnificent interior decoration, “Chance” inherited from “Lanos”. Why grumble?

But this is something new - a strange gearshift scheme. Remember: the rear turns on to the right and forward, and if you decisively move the gearshift lever to the right and back, you can catch the fifth. That's exactly what to catch. Some people have more luck, some less. In addition, the lever is tilted back, so that in the second it almost rests on the driver's seat. Hmmm ... "Chevrolet" also did not differ in German switching accuracy, but it was more precise.

I turn the key in the ignition, and the interior is filled with noise and begins to vibrate finely. Soundproofing - minimum. True, having warmed up to operating temperature, the Melitopol 1.3-liter “four” is quieter. In general, the 70-horsepower 8-valve engine is not at all conducive to active driving, it is even and unhurriedly lucky throughout the entire rev range. Accelerations from 70-80 km / h are difficult to fire up the car to 130-140 km / h, you need a straight line “from here to lunch”. "Lanos" with a 1.5-liter engine, in the pedigree of which "Opel" roots were traced, drove clearly more briskly.

The suspension migrated to the "Chance" from the "Lanos" without any changes. And it is right. She copes well with her duties, although she allows noticeable body roll in corners and buildup on gentle waves. But the New Cossack swallows small pits without problems. It is a pity that in motion the vibrations in the cabin are noticeably amplified. The pedals itch most unpleasantly - even the feet become ticklish.

And yet, “Chance” was driving, wading through traffic jams with me, albeit not without effort, but it accelerated in the general stream, slowed down much more confidently and, most pleasantly, at 34 degrees of heat overboard, gave life-giving coolness. By five o'clock in the evening I began to get used to it, but...

Will I get there or won't I?

What happened next at one of the Moscow crossroads, you know. The end of this sad story was put by a colleague with a cable, a tow truck and a strong impression that the Chance with a Tauride engine and gearbox is not worth buying with the current quality of electrical equipment.

What's broken? The diode bridge of the generator, just like on his father's Zhiguli. Only even on the VAZ "classic" there is a light bulb that will warn you in time about an inoperative battery recharging system. There is no such thing in Chance-1.3. And even dealers recognize a bunch of problems with the electrics.

The base price is 245,000 rubles. (the sedan is another 10 thousand cheaper) - this, of course, is great. For another 18 thousand, you can buy a power steering, fog lights and front power windows. There is an air conditioner in the list of options. The same "Kalina" or VAZ-2114 cost 257 and 250 thousand, respectively. Moreover, the “fourteenth” does not happen with air conditioning, “Kalina” with coolness will pull at least 295 thousand, and the “Priora” hatchback is about 350,000 rubles. As you can see, the modern "Zaporozhets" is really the cheapest.

However, with the Melitopol motor, it will require from you not only the ability to forgive its minor, medium and other shortcomings, but also be prepared for bigger troubles. That is why, if, in spite of everything, "Chance" liked, you need to take it with a 1.5 liter engine for 289-339 thousand. But for those who cannot afford to travel by metro, and need a new car with air conditioning, it makes sense to take a closer look at the Matiz. And it will be cheaper, and most importantly, you won’t have to guess how you will get to your destination - on your own or “on a tie”.

My car works in a taxi. Well, here is such an income, but what to do. Seduced by an unlimited warranty for 2 years, on a normal appearance and a salon (it’s not a shame to plant), and when you slow down next to the “penny”, you are still chosen, plus warmth in winter. Basically, not disappointed. Now, though, they made a 4-year warranty or 120 thousand km, but I still think that in 2 years 120 thousand km at ZAZ I won’t get a chance, so this is rather a plus. I “taxi” myself, money doesn’t fall from the sky, because I think that the car doesn’t take much, it’s very important, it also doesn’t crumble from the load, which is even more important - to stand for days without a clue what’s broken is also money for repairs, and for simple. If as a passenger, then everything is fine: you can sit in front like a person, and it’s warm, and you can sit in the back, and the suspension is very soft, and the landing is neither high nor low. If as a driver, then 8 hours driving in ZAZ Chance is also normal, you can’t drive races, but 1499 cubes pull their work in terms of speed, for which we thank them. I like that, on the one hand, everything seems to be simple, like on ours - that is, I can change almost anything, myself and quickly (pads, battery, fuses, belts), and on the other hand, everything works and does not seem to need to be changed.

I am glad that there are more and more fans of the model in the city (I notice more often). Well, the price, of course, pleases. I didn’t think so directly for sure, but compared to ours, I think, the cost of maintenance is 3 times cheaper. As for a taxi driver, ZAZ Chance is very good and cheaper than Accents used to be. You ride all day, then go home, sleep, go out, start it and again behind the “steering wheel” (the steering wheel is also comfortable, leaned back in the chair a little, legs lie flat on the pedal, and the hand does not get tired). In the snow on the “all-weather season” it behaves surprisingly stably. Of the problems - yeah, I was also struck that there was no rear fender liner, with my mileage it was “deadly”, I set it myself. For some reason, my oil is eating up, that is, everywhere they write that there should be half a liter for 10 thousand, but I can have everything and a half. Why - I don’t know, but since everything else works without problems, I didn’t ask this problem, I just add it. I have already seen, by the way, a couple of taxi companies (Moscow), which initially all on the "Chances". Decent inexpensive car, which is at least worth paying attention to. That is my conclusion.

Advantages : suitability for a taxi. Cheap service. Appearance. Machine price. Ease of execution. Reliability.

Flaws : oil (this seems to be just me). Lack of fender liner on the rear pair.

Hello. I bought myself a ZAZ Chance for business, not for the family, 1.5 engine. The equipment is basic, I wanted SX, but they said that it would take 2-3 months to wait from Ukraine, the current “S” remained (this is the base). In the cabin, I installed power windows and an alarm system, it was problematic to do it myself, I bought everything else (carpets, wheel arch liners) on the market myself. What I did not like about ZAZ Chance - the box crunched when switching to a cold one (1-2 gears). I changed the oil in the box and the engine (it turned out that TAD-17 was filled in the box, I was shocked, it was green). I changed it to an imported one, everything immediately became fine, I refused the guarantee, the box does not have a drain hole, I bought 2 gaskets (from my father Nexia N150), they wanted to change it for him, although it works smoothly for him. It turned out that it does not suit me, since I have 11 holes, and Nexia has 10, although the motors and gearboxes are the same. I installed the old one and it doesn't seem to be leaking. Further: the standard speakers do not sound well, I changed all 4, there was no radio, I bought it, I installed it, and then on you - the right rear speaker does not work, all the wires rang with the tester, the verdict is a break somewhere in the cabin under the upholstery.

One fine day, in the morning I leave the dacha with a friend, at night, I look in the rear-view mirror, the brake light is on, although I don’t press the brake. Stop, you can’t go like that, the trip was canceled. The next day, I climbed the whole car, and the sensor under the pedal looked, and the entire chain of wires (I thought that it was “short” somewhere, because even when the dimensions were turned on, it was on fire and that’s it). The problem was solved by trial and error. It turned out that the rear-view lamp burned out and the spiral came into contact with another. Since the lamp is 2-spiral, it has both a stop signal and headlights, and when they “rubbed” against each other, the more powerful one gave a stop signal. Changed, all is well. Very bad twisting of wires, there are a lot of them, the car stalled a couple of times or the speed swam, I found bad contact in 3 places, redid it, now everything seems to be fine. Bought in the salon official dealers car ZAZ Chance sedan with a 1.5-liter engine at the beginning of 2010 in a complete set. And just then the summer began, hot enough, it should be noted. The air conditioner did not disappoint. In hot weather, the ZAZ Chance cabin is very cool, you can set the temperature to whatever you want. The car itself is comfortable, I like it. Very good aerodynamic qualities: it is stable at speed on the road, easy to drive and on the dirt road, it is also off-road, it rows quite confidently and clearly. In general, I am very pleased with the car, I feel at ease, and also in an imported one.

I drive ZAZ Chance with pleasure. Previously traveled to domestic cars. In particular, in the 10th Zhiguli model, my back got tired during a long ride, which is not in the Chance. The seats are very comfortable, the cabin is quite spacious, on back seat just as comfortable. When the engine is running, there is no noise in the cabin. Visibility from the driver's seat is sufficient. The salon is pleasant, although without frills. Maintenance is quite inexpensive, the main thing is not to start the car from the very beginning and give it some time to prepare. There were, however, small problems: the washer reservoir dripped, the high beam spontaneously turned on when the direction indicators were turned on, but warranty repair I fixed these problems. So far no more problems. There are no problems with the ZAZ Chance engine. If you follow it and fill it with normal fuel, it works like clockwork, although you can’t get extra power from it and you won’t fly down the road at the speed of an F1 car. On the other hand, its price is not the same as that of the car, and the tasks are different, in my opinion.

Advantages : value for money. Reliability. Acceptable comfort.

Hello everyone, I own ZAZ Chance for more than 2 years. The mileage began to exceed 100 thousand km, and during this time I changed everything about the maintenance regulations. Of the unplanned breakdowns, it periodically changed the hub bearings once a year, they do not withstand our roads, for 80 thousand km I changed all the shock absorbers with anthers and fenders, after which I drive further from MOT to MOT. At 98 thousand km, the ignition coil began to heat up and the car blunted a little during acceleration when the pedal was pressed to the floor. I have a 1.5 motor, it is certainly reliable, but it was created in the last century and it is felt. Although I was never inferior to the Priore with its 16 valves, the build quality affects, and if someone is not in the know, these motors were designed at the Opel concern, but that was a long time ago and not true.

Now I will touch on everyone’s favorite debate about comparing Chevrolet Lanos and ZAZ Chance, and so, there was never a Chance with 1.5 engines, they bought the sketches of the car from Deo and stuck their 1.3 engine there and that’s how Chance was born, and Lanos always drove a 1.5 engine . Then the Ukrainians thought about how we can pump out more money with less investment. Here they came up with the idea of ​​​​buying a Chevrolet Lanos, driving it to Ukraine for a darma, re-gluing nameplates, rearranging all the plastic lining, where there is a different symbol and that’s it, the car was created in the CIS and it won’t be difficult to transfer it across the border to the Russian Federation, it’s even cheaper to the heap . I set out to peel off the ZAZ nameplates and the inscription in an incomprehensible language Chance on the body, after which I find that there was a trace of glue from the Chevrolet logo on the trunk lid, and having torn off the inscription, Chance managed to recognize and read the Lanos inscription. Conclude why a new machine shows up like this surprises. Build quality is better than domestic manufacturer, the rigidity of the body passes according to the norms of the regulations, which I cannot say about the VAZ. But even after that, the car turns into a rattle on wheels, for me this transformation happened after 60 thousand km.

The appearance of ZAZ Chance is what I didn’t pay much attention to. But since the car is already mine, it is the best. A big plus, which he noted in comparison with the Russian auto industry, is the absence of terrible gaps m / y with doors and other components and assemblies. The salon, in my opinion, is very spacious, my wife especially liked it, as she sometimes rides in the back seat with her daughter, but the front ceiling is too low for the passenger and tall people sometimes have a head either rests or hits the counter. What I really liked is the gear knob, in all budget models on the machine, it looks like a stick that was stuck into the floor, but here, in principle, at least some kind of aesthetics, well, it really looks normal. The only thing that does not please is the control of the mirrors, it is manual and not very convenient, although after setting it up once, I never returned to this issue, but I liked the mirrors themselves, they are large and you can see them well.

The suspension is not a strong point of the car, if you drive at speed and get on an uneven road like a “washboard”, for example, then the car does not arbitrarily blow to the side, after that I immediately thought that after the first MOT I would change the racks. The only plus of ZAZ Chance, which I liked, is the clearance, the car has a high one and I don’t know about problems in terms of traveling to the country, for example. There are no obstacles even to climb a high curb. Well, in general, the suspension leaves much to be desired. From the words of the seller, I learned that the box and engine with Chevrolet Aveo(these are also on some Opels), this was probably the main advantage of the purchase, since looking in the cabin at the updated Chevrolet Aveo, or rather ZAZ Vida, I realized that there was nothing left of the Aveo except for the appearance. According to the seller, he came to the conclusion that this is a complete nightmare and the engine is already different there, sort of like some kind of Chinese. And now the box is in action: I’ll write the only minus, sometimes it gets dull when shifting gears, if, for example, you go uphill or in a traffic jam, on the tachometer it should have switched for about 3000 for a long time, but no, everyone thinks it’s a rare phenomenon and doesn’t really bother, but it is. In principle, I liked the engine, for 1.4 and 100 l / s it pulls well, even if there are 3 people in the car and the air conditioner is on.

My chance is in a sedan. The trunk is quite spacious, it included six large sports bags. Approximately the same for Priora. There is an opening through the back seat into the cabin for long vehicles. The very appearance of the body is completely from the Chevrolet Lanos (unlike the ZAZ Sens). Salon at ZAZ Chance completely from Lanos. The roof height is slightly lower than in Priore, the width of the interiors of both cars is approximately the same. For my height of 185 cm, the driver's seat had to be moved to the very end in both cars, i.e. Only a teenager can sit behind the driver. The location of various control buttons and knobs is also equally convenient. Priore had a box armrest between the front seats, unfortunately, without a good lock. Chance has a 1.4 liter Ecotek (Opel) engine, while Priora has a 1.6 liter engine. Accordingly, Priora is a little more dynamic. The box at ZAZ Chance is an automatic from Aisin (Chevrolet), and at Priora a mechanic. It was this box that I really did not like with fuzzy switching, especially reverse gear. At a speed of 80 km / h, the consumption is approximately the same 6.2 liters of AI-92 (Chance) versus 6.0 liters of AI-95, you can AI-92 (Priora). For the city, the optimal combination of engine-box at Chance. The clearance is approximately the same for both cars, but the suspension works a little better for the Priora.

Friends advised me to pay attention to ZAZ cars. Walked, learned about ZAZ Chance and Vida. As a result, ZAZ Chance acquired a sedan with a 1.3 engine (70 hp) for 270 thousand rubles. The first thing I noticed when choosing a car - it's appearance. The design is pleasant and quite modern. Reminds me of a foreign car. The salon is comfortable and spacious. Interior trim material is average. Everything is quite democratic. The trunk is very roomy. Several times I made large purchases, I do not complain about the lack of space. I was pleased with the low fuel consumption. It takes me 10 liters per 100 km in the city, and even less on the highway, about 6 liters. Starts off ZAZ Chance briskly. Gear shifting is smooth. Like the car.

Since my wife and I are ideological opponents of loans, and we wanted a new car, the list of possible candidates was formed very quickly:

Kalina, in principle, suited everyone and even liked it with the exception of one detail. I just couldn't drive a car with that loin design. In the tag in the back seat, I leaned my head against the ceiling. The four attracted universal body but repelled rear wheel drive and a very archaic design. Both Chinese looked good, but dropped out due to a shocking crash test and moral anguish over Chinese quality. Sens left.

The local dealer had cars of all colors in stock, for some reason we liked the red one. On the Sense I have not traveled before, but there was a little experience with Lanos and Tavria. They did not evoke unpleasant memories for me, and since Sens is a Lanos with an engine from Tavria in the most powerful performance, it was taken without fear.

I must say I was a little wrong in my expectations. Somehow I did not take into account that Sens is 400 kg heavier. In general, a car with an engine that had not been run-in did not pull at all. But a person adapts to everything, and domestic equipment quickly gained traction with kilometers. So now I don't feel disadvantaged. From 70 it is quite possible to go to the 5th, and on the track without tension to keep your favorite 100 km / h. The fifth gear, which, at the whim of the designer, is located next to the fourth, also does not create any problems, the car is its own.

The main thing that interferes with comfortable operation is the rear part that sags heavily under load. Reinforced springs drastically did not affect the situation. In general, regular mud flaps were torn off in the first six months. Instead of them, universal mugs are installed, it is more convenient to beat off snow from them.

The spaciousness and comfort of the cabin correspond to the class and price of the car. I don't have A/C or power windows, but everything I have works fine. The stove heats, it is convenient to control the air flow. The driver's seat on a long journey requires a proper fit. I used to keep my left foot next to the brake pedal and it would get numb, but after a few rides I realized that I needed to use the foot rest area and everything would be fine. Behind me, with a height of 183 cm, I sit down in a lap on my knees, but I sit down, there is room above my head with a margin. Wife and children clear that no problem.

Once I got under a very large hail, there were a few barely noticeable dents on the hood. For some reason, there is no roof and trunk lid. There are no other body problems. Chips and scratches do not rust, nothing flows anywhere.

There were questions to the standard tires brand Rosava. Firstly, no one bothered to balance it at the factory. Secondly, it was worn out 12 thousand km before the line. Purchased instead of Nokian walks normally.

During the operation there were small problems, but they were all resolved under warranty. In the first 15 thousand kilometers, the following were replaced: fuel temperature sensor, front right wheel bearing, rubber in the rear right shock absorber support. For a city with no roads, I think it's normal. Recently, on my own initiative, I replaced the battery, because. the old one was planted by signaling in three days.

Fuel consumption is about the following. In summer in the city - 8, in winter - 9.5. Track at any time 6..6.5. The engine and gearbox are filled with branded synthetic oils I use original consumables, they are surprisingly cheap.

Noise depends on speed, after a hundred the engine screams. Suspension is long-stroke and soft. In combination with standard tires for 13 holes swallows with a bang. But the car keeps the trajectory at the allowed speeds well.

The machine is quite satisfied and the next three years will remain with me. Then I look forward to something more.
