Further, with a height of 181 cm and a weight of 110 kg, I feel comfortable on any of the seats. The trunk, however, is small, but the problem was solved by buying an additional one on the roof. Pickup - excellent (comparing with the Mercedes C180 of the same power). One transmission in the manual gearbox is superfluous - for me the 5th. I traveled a little more and I can add something. Of the minuses: the power window control panel rests on the knee of the left leg (until the relative said, I did not notice), now it makes me a little nervous. I still don’t understand how to fold the front passenger seat - what is written in the instructions - well, I don’t have such handles. You have to ask the officials. Because of this, I had to carry two-meter panels, pushing them between the front seats, which greatly complicated gear shifting. I took out a shelf of a flat floor from the trunk - well, I don’t need it, plus I won in the volume of the trunk. For 7000 km, I added only gasoline and liquid to the windshield washer reservoir in the Volkswagen Golf Plus. I began to drive around the city more (we have a 40 km / h limit) and the consumption became 8.3 liters per hundred. It's still better than the previous car - 12.5 liters in the same city. I found drawers under the front seats and under the steering wheel - there is nothing to put, but I was pleasantly pleased. The rear seats move forward by 20 cm, convenient, but not yet useful. There are 12-volt sockets in 3 places: in the ashtray, at the passengers and in the trunk (here I connect the refrigerator). There is a crankcase and underbody protection (plastic), on which stones knock loudly on a gravel road, but still for me this is more of a plus than a minus. The suspension of the Volkswagen Golf Plus at first seemed stiff compared to the Mercedes, which is not surprising, but now I don’t notice it, but after a ride on the “ Ford Mondeo» station wagon, and generally seemed soft.

Advantages : economy. Pickup. High landing. Security.

In fact, the German car is very spacious inside. Auto assembly - German, dashboard and in general, all ergonomics at "5+". Everything is in its place, you don’t need to frantically search for anything - everything is in front of your eyes. The on-board computer fits very organically into the panel and shows the readings of the car very legibly and in Russian. The front seats have a very convenient adjustment, so a person of any build up to 2 meters tall will definitely find a comfortable fit without any pain. The rear seats are divided: seats into 2, and backs into 3 parts. The Volkswagen Golf Plus is very easy to drive, the brakes work very competently, the car stops very clearly and gently, the passengers do not peck their noses. The base has a wear indicator for the front pads. The suspension works moderately hard, but does not reach breakdowns. A couple of times I got into decent pits - it was practically not felt in the cabin. In the summer we went on vacation to Pskov - 900 km one way from Tula. The machine was loaded somewhere half of its capacity. By the way, the carrying capacity of the Volkswagen Golf Plus is one of the largest in the class - 637 kg, so the consumption on the highway was around 6 liters. In urban mode, 8-10, depending on the mode of movement, while in both cases the climate is constantly on. As for the clearance - 160 mm.

Design is always a matter of taste, but I really like the Volkswagen Golf Plus. True, it is this restyled "Plus" - previous version somehow not very expressive. Our car has Climatronic - which is a 2-zone climate control. Someone needs a conventional semi-automatic air conditioner, but I am more than satisfied with the "Climate" - I set the "Auto" button to 22 degrees and forgot about the atmosphere settings in the cabin. It is clearly worth its 7 thousand rubles. Music native RCD 310 8 speakers. Control on-board computer and a radio tape recorder on a multiwheel (option). What can I say - good regular music as good as it can be. I'm not a music lover and I have enough bass and mids "with my head". Noise isolation is, as always, subjective, but compared, for example, with the previous “Focus” additionally “noisy” by me and the same “Mondeo” in the Volkswagen Golf Plus, it is noticeably more comfortable. Not the Audi A8, but the difference is quite noticeable. 1.2 TSI 175 Nm available already from 1500 to 4000 rpm make themselves felt. If you look at the numbers, then in terms of torque they are comparable to the data of very good "aspirated" 1.6 and good 1.8. But not a single “aspirated” gives such a smooth and long shelf of torque as these TSI “engines”. In fact, we have a very elastic motor that, according to my feelings, rides no worse than my previous Focus with its 280 Nm, but in a much shorter range. In the city Volkswagen engine Golf Plus is more than enough, on the track its traction is more than enough for any reasonable overtaking.

Since the spring of 2005, sales of the Golf Plus model (dimensions 4206x1759x1580 mm) began in Europe, and then in other markets, which is a 5-seater compact van on Golf V units. At first glance, the car is perceived as a Golf, but it has an individual style and expands the perspective of the Golf series. The main plus is the body height increased by 95 mm. While other dimensions remain the same as those of its famous predecessor, the feeling of spaciousness is completely different due to the more upright seating position. It also provides more legroom for both the driver and passengers.

The extra centimeters went to the front fenders (the nose of the Plus is more massive) and the roof pillars - at the same angle of inclination, they start much earlier. To make it look harmonious, we added triangles of windows and a rib from the headlights to the lanterns. Compared to the donor, the Plus has a significantly changed “front end”: here almost all the details are original, the head optics, bumper, fenders, and so on. The tailgate and taillights are also differently designed, in which, instead of incandescent lamps, high-speed LEDs are used.

Interior features - multifunctional overhead console, fully convertible rear seat (40:20:40) with the possibility of separate adjustment in length (160 mm) and back angle, comfortable armrests in front (adjustable) and rear, double boot floor and many pockets, boxes and nets for placing small luggage. For example, a multifunctional front armrest that can accommodate a cool box (option).

The design department, taking into account the maximum height of the Golf Plus, developed a new control panel. She expectedly rose up and acquired a "minivan" look - mainly due to the massive center console and 4 pairs of round ventilation deflectors. All individual elements remained the same as on the Volkswagen Golf.

Trunk volume can increase from 395 liters to 1450 liters with the rear seats folded down. The kinematics of the rear seats are designed so that when the backrest is folded, the cushion goes down and forward, so that in one movement a cargo compartment with a flat floor is obtained. The middle seat of the back row can easily turn into either a table with cup holders, or a hefty armrest, or (if there is an additional module) a multifunctional box.

At first, Volkswagen offered four engines for the Golf Plus: two petrol 1.4 l (75 hp) and 1.6 FSI (115 hp), as well as two turbodiesels 1.9 l (105 hp) and 2.0 l ( 140 hp). Already by the middle of 2005, the range of engines will be replenished with 1.6-liter gasoline power units (102 hp) and a two-liter FSI (150 hp), as well as a 90-horsepower turbodiesel. The Golf Plus transmission also offers variety: five- and six-speed "mechanics", a six-speed "automatic" and advanced robotic box about two DSG clutches.

Equipment options are the same as on the Golf V, from the base Trendline to the top-of-the-line Comfortline and the sporty Sportline. Already in standard equipment, the car is equipped with front and side airbags, ESP systems, ABS, as well as ASR traction control. In the Comfortline and Sportline versions, the Golf Plus comes standard with Climatic air conditioning.

Console between the front seats, available in two versions. In the top version, it contains a cool box (in vehicles with air conditioning) and also allows you to install an optional CD changer or DVD player for the Rear Seat Entertainment system from Volkswagen Individual.
