Opel Antara: reviews of the owners of the first SUV from Opel. Specifications Opel Antara I generation restyling.

Opel Antara I generation restyling 2011-present

In 2011, a restyled version of the Opel Antara crossover entered the market. In fact, this is the same Chevrolet Captiva, only smaller. Of course, there are differences in appearance, but they cannot be called global. The situation under the hood is much more interesting ...

Was - became

The outlines of the front bumper and radiator grille were slightly changed, the optics were retouched, and the “foglights” were changed. In general, a little.

The interior has not changed much - the same steering wheel, the same round air vents, control buttons. "Tidy" remained simple and unpretentious. On test drives, they noted good sound insulation. In general, the interior is good and comfortable.

Antara 2.4MT/AT

The model is now equipped with one of three power units. The weakest is a modernized 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 164 "horses" (instead of 140 for the previous model). With a manual transmission, it accelerates the car to hundreds in 10.3 seconds. But be that as it may, such an engine for a crossover should be recognized as minimally sufficient, because it does not demonstrate any bright dynamics. Traction is not bad - 230 Nm of torque.

Antara 2.2 CDTi MT/AT

Next comes the 2.2-liter turbodiesel. This golden mean. The motor is very traction - from 350 to 400 Nm of torque. And quite powerful - from 163 to 184 "horses". The difference in power and torque depends on the settings. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 10 seconds. Fuel consumption for it is only 7.8 liters per "weave".

Antara 3.0AT

A 3-liter atmospheric "gasoline", with the only possible AT, was replaced by a 3.2-liter engine. It produces 249 hp. and 287 Nm of torque. It accelerates to “weave” in 8.6 seconds and consumes 10.9 liters. gasoline. True, given the "brutal" appetite of the past 3.2-liter engine, it is hard to believe in such factory indicators.

The car is equipped with all-wheel drive only. This is a definite plus for the crossover. The gearbox can be either a 6-speed MT or an “automatic” with the same number of speeds.

Suspension Opel Antara

Ground clearance noticeably decreased (from 200 mm. to 176 mm.), so that new Opel Antara, the pre-styling version of which also did not suffer from excessive cross-country ability, is clearly focused on the “asphalt path”. Manageability can not be called a reference. And although the designers managed to level out the impressiveness and rolls in the corners, it is still far from the ideal.

Cost and equipment Opel Antara

The most cheap version with a 2.4-liter engine and MT costs 1 million 51 thousand rubles. It is not bad - here are front and side airbags, and curtains and ABS, EBD, ASR, ESP and HHC systems, and “climate”, and “on-board” and much more.

But having paid only 40,000 rubles. you can get the same car with automatic transmission or diesel on the "mechanics". Naturally, diesel (even on the "handle") in this case noticeably wins.

Well, the top equipment is estimated at 1,291,000 rubles. It has everything - complete passenger safety, leather adjustable multifunction steering wheel, "climate control", cruise control, parking sensors, bi-xenon and so on.

Summary

As a result, the car became a fully competitive crossover. It has new motors and updated undercarriage. This means that the main claims to the model have been eliminated.

The technical characteristics of the new Opel Antara 2014 release fully emphasize the car's belonging to the class of representative SUVs. First of all, it concerns the dimensions. A wheelbase of 2707 mm and an overall length of 4596 mm result in an attractive appearance models. Despite such impressiveness, the car is not clumsy: a turning circle of less than 13 meters allows it to turn around in hard-to-reach places and maneuver well on the road.

According to the ECIE measurement method, the useful volume of the trunk varies from 420 to 1850 liters, depending on the configuration. This makes it possible to accommodate bulky cargo in the luggage compartment without creating inconvenience to passengers. Wherein allowable weight the car when fully loaded is no more than 2370 kilograms, which adds power and swiftness to it on any road.

Specifications Opel Antara testify to the wonderful driving performance ah models. This was made possible by the use of powerful (120-183 kW) four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines. The well-coordinated work of the power unit and a six-speed manual or automatic transmission allows you to feel confident in any road conditions. The claimed fuel consumption deserves special mention. Even with a 3-liter gasoline engine, the average consumption does not exceed 11 liters per 100 kilometers. For an SUV, this is a worthy indicator.

Opel Antara was first presented to the public in 2006 during the Paris Motor Show. Then this five-door front-wheel drive crossover was supposed to fill the empty niche of SUVs, with which he coped to some extent. The platform on which Antara was created also became the basis for the Chevrolet Captiva and Daewoo Winstorm. These cars have comparable parameters and specifications, but Opel is distinguished by better finishing materials, improved sound insulation and good equipment.

Opel Antara is a solid and high-quality urban crossover, which is loved by many buyers

New Opel Antara: exterior

Since the start of sales in 2007, the appearance of the crossover has been perceived somewhat differently. If earlier Antara was perceived with enthusiasm, now its appearance of the pre-styling version can hardly be called fashionable. In comparison with other cars, including classmates, it is not so well thought out. Angles and straight lines are what serve as the leitmotif of the exterior of the crossover, there are no waves and curls that have been popular recently. Lighting technology is devoid of LEDs, which also indicates the age of the model.

The last "facelift" of Antara took place in 2011. New bumpers were installed, lighting equipment was somewhat updated. The grille has also been redesigned with a chrome strip down the middle and a larger company logo. The lines of the body remained clear as before, the wheel arches are quite embossed. Along the entire perimeter from the bottom there are special pads. Fog lights, as is customary for most crossovers, are recessed into the body. The appearance of the Opel has become much fresher, more brutal and more powerful.

The crossover turned out to be relatively compact: the length is 4570 mm, the width is 1850, and the height is 1700 millimeters, while the Antara has a clearance of 200 mm.

Salon Opel Antara

During the last restyling, the Opel interior was changed, but not much. Innovations include a new gearshift lever and the absence of a parking brake lever. It was replaced by an elegant button on the center console. The installation of a multimedia system with navigation has become available.

Salon Antara, oddly enough, resembles the Opel Astra, which has recently changed its name to Family. In the middle of the front panel is a small on-board computer display, covered with a plastic visor. Looking at it in the direction of travel is not very convenient, and indeed its location does not seem very logical. In fact, there should not be a computer - in its place there should be a regular multimedia system, but Opel engineers could not adapt it for Russia. How this is possible is not entirely clear. It is not entirely clear why it was also impossible to update the lighting technology of the crossover and at least its dashboard. Of course, it is still readable and somewhat attractive, but due to radial digitization, convenience is significantly reduced.

According to current requirements, the driver's seat has very few adjustment and configuration options. If you are unlucky with your build, you can sit either close to the steering wheel or far from the pedals. Although the chair is equipped with lateral support with a rather successful profile, it may seem high to someone here. It’s up to luck here, but it’s hard to imagine that when buying a crossover, the convenience of landing was not tested.

The rear seats, unlike the front, differ in space. Here you can ride with three people, but it’s so customary in automotive circles that it will be convenient and comfortable for only two passengers. Interior trim is quite high quality and varied. In top trim levels and quality additional option high-quality leather interior is available.

Volume luggage compartment is 420 liters - an indicator slightly below the average for crossovers. Due to the folded rear seats this indicator increases to 1420, so it will be more or less convenient to transport bulky goods.

Specifications Opel Antara

When you get behind the wheel, it becomes clear that although Antara is assembled in Korea and Russia, it was designed by German specialists. The crossover perfectly holds the trajectory, and this applies to both driving in a straight line and passing a bunch of turns. Of course, there are rolls, but where would it be without them in a car with a raised center of gravity. But there is practically no buildup, in any case, it is much less than that of many competitors.

The chassis here is quite dense, it cannot be called ideal. You will know and feel when a more or less significant hole or bump appears under the wheels, and on average irregularities, the suspension starts to work on the rebound at all. The stroke of the shock absorbers may seem small, but still the energy intensity of Antar does not hold. It’s also not worth driving Opel on frank off-road, especially on ordinary rubber. Nevertheless, on normal dirt roads, which are found everywhere in Russia, Antara can develop a very good speed. At the same time, it is better, of course, not to jump over bumps, otherwise it is not far from the loss of the front apron, which is set low enough.

The heart of the Opel Antara is designed to be four engines: two petrol and two diesel. After the upgrade, the engines began to comply with Euro 5 standards and significantly reduced fuel consumption and emissions. Also available are automatic and mechanical box gear shifting, which have also been finalized and updated.

The most affordable of the engines, the 2.4-liter ECOTEC gasoline, has become more powerful and is now capable of delivering up to 167 horsepower. Fuel consumption is just over 9 liters in mixed mode, but the acceleration dynamics leaves much to be desired: Antara accelerates to 100 in 10.3 seconds. The other petrol engine looks much better. With a volume of 3.0 liters and a power of 269 hp, it accelerates the Opel to hundreds in 8.6 seconds, consuming an average of almost 11 liters of fuel. Unlike the "little brother", this motor only works with automatic transmission. For Russia, two 2.2-liter turbodiesels with a capacity of 163 and 184 are also offered. horsepower. They are combined with both mechanics and automatic.

Not to mention the all-wheel drive system with electronic control. As a result, Antara combines the efficiency of front-wheel drive cars and the traction of all-wheel drive. By default, the motor sends power to front-wheel drive, however, when changing road conditions the rear axle is connected. The torque distribution can be up to 50% with all options in between.

TO intelligent systems The crossover also includes an electromechanical parking brake, a hill start assist system, and a system for determining the best moment to upshift. There is also standard ABS, which is complemented by CBC functions and HBA braking optimizer.

Options and prices Opel Antara

Antara is represented by two trim levels - Enjoy and Cosmo. The youngest of the complete sets - Enjoy - is available from 950 thousand rubles. For the price, you get a pretty good package that includes full power accessories, heated front seats and an anti-theft alarm. Besides, standard equipment complemented by cruise control, on-board computer, graphic information display and parking sensors front and rear. There is a 167 hp petrol engine to choose from. with automation and mechanics, as well as a 163-horsepower diesel engine with manual transmission.

The Cosmo package is even more attractive. Added to Enjoy equipment on-board computer, rain sensor and park assist. The leather interior is complemented by a leather-covered shift lever. The door handles are finished with chrome on the outside, the interior and driver's mirrors are equipped with an auto-dimming function. For this configuration, an older diesel engine with automatic transmission and both gasoline engines with automatic transmission are offered. The price of the Opel Antara in this version starts at 1,160,000 rubles.

Test drive Opel Antara

The pre-styling version of the Opel Antara did not inspire awe in terms of driving performance. Of course, after 2011, you also can’t say that the crossover has become very dynamic, but progress is on the face. The first thing you notice when driving the updated Opel Antara is improved cornering. Now it is very difficult to achieve skidding and squealing of brakes, and rolls have noticeably decreased. The suspension, of course, has become much more sporty in this regard, while the crossover itself has remained a family car. Decent improvement.

Another problem that should have been solved during the restyling is the voracity of the engines. A 3.2-liter engine and an old automatic machine, which also consumed a lot of fuel, were removed from the line of power units. In an effort to reduce appetite, we have reached the point that now the economy mode is turned on by default. If you want to go faster and faster, you can turn it off manually, but this will increase fuel consumption. It will increase to such an extent that it will eat up to 16 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway, which is very noticeable for the budget.

The interior of the interior has changed little, except for the appearance of a multimedia screen in the center. It is the screen, because it is too small in comparison with other cars. Why navigation was also shoved here remains a mystery, because looking out for something on this monitor is inconvenient even when the car is parked, and when driving it is completely dangerous.

The car demonstrates dynamics at the level of family cars, so if you buy it for something, it is for a small family traveling out of town several times a year. On the primer, Antara is quite agile and frisky, four-wheel drive if necessary, it will help to overcome small bumps, puddles and other not too significant obstacles.

You should not expect more from this Opel - the car, to be sure, turned out to be imperfect, it is better not to meddle with it on impassable roads. After all, this is the first SUV from this manufacturer, so all the errors can be attributed to this.

Characteristics of Opel Antara

The new configuration of Antara wins by no means due to facelift and interior upgrades. The main bet was made on adjusting the range of power units in the Antara Gasoline Engine and Opel Antara Diesel Engine categories, which, according to Adam Opel AG experts, should help increase the popularity of this car. And it looks like they succeeded.

Opel Antara specifications. Motors and transmission.

The gasoline range of engines of the new Opel Antara is presented power plants from the genus ECOTEC. Gamma Opel Antara (diesel) also consists of two turbine units. Briefly about each:

Gas line.

Characteristics of Opel Antara 2012 are largely determined by fresh gasoline engines ECOTEC conforming to Euro 5 standard.

The Opel Antara 2.4 ECOTEC engine is a four-cylinder gasoline, all-aluminum LE 5 engine with a power of 170 hp. In various trim levels, it is presented either in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission, or in a duet with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

3.0 ECOTEC - 264 hp six-cylinder gasoline unit. He replaced the V-shaped 3.2-liter "six" High Feature, which was notable for its exorbitant appetite. This engine is only available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Due to ECOTEC technologies in the new gasoline-dependent Opel Antara, fuel consumption (combined cycle) is 9.3 liters and 10.9 liters per hundred kilometers, respectively.

Diesel range.

According to polls and expert opinions, it was the diesel Opel Antara that aroused particular interest among adherents of this class of cars.

Turbocharged four-cylinder Opel Antara diesel - 163-horsepower CDTi engine with a displacement of 2.2 liters. This diesel Antara consumes 7.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The next diesel engine installed on the Opel Antara 2012 is essentially the same advanced CDTi, but with more “charged” settings. While maintaining the working volume, it produces 184 horsepower and shows a very modest fuel consumption. In this version of the Opel Antara, fuel consumption does not exceed 6.4 liters to overcome 100 kilometers in a combined cycle.

All engines of the updated range comply with Euro 5 regulations and demonstrate low CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

The Opel Antara automatic transmission line was developed by leading specialists from General Motors. The GM 6T 50 model is paired with a turbodiesel and a top-end petrol V-shaped “six”. For the LE 5 2.4 ECOTEC gasoline engine, the GM 6T 45 model is provided. According to the testers, these automatic boxes function so smoothly that they can quite rightly be considered one of the main advantages of the modern Opel Antara.

Characteristics of Opel Antara 2012. Chassis and drive.

The technical characteristics corrected by the designers of the updated Opel Antara, indicators of handling, comfort and safety determine the keen interest in the model from European and Russian buyers. In the eyes of Europeans, the New Opel Antara is a multi-tasking full-size car with increased capacity. Indeed, Opel Antara 2012 harmoniously combines the sporty look and quiet elegance of a city car. And the quite serious off-road qualities of Antara are complemented by the functionality and safety of a family station wagon.

The running gear looks like this:

Suspension is fully independent - MacPherson strut front, 4-link rear (double wishbones). As before, coil springs, transverse stabilizers, but the settings are new. More elastic silent blocks are installed in MacPherson, the upper mount is optimized shock absorber strut and slightly increased the diameter of the anti-roll bar. Levers rear suspension are now equipped with hydraulic dampers, and shock absorbers and springs have become a little stiffer.

Tires (size 235/55 R18 or 235/50 R19) are mounted on alloy wheels. The steering mechanism is rack and pinion with a hydraulic servo booster. "Baranka" makes 2.75 turns from lock to lock. Disc brakes, ventilated, with a diameter of 296 mm. (front) and 303 mm. (behind). In the basic configuration, there is not only a standard anti-lock braking system ABS, but also an electronic stability control ESP with TC traction control and a DCS controlled descent system.

In addition, in the arsenal active safety Opel Antara 2012 has a CBC cornering system that increases vehicle stability when performing a specified maneuver by reducing the pressure in the brake circuit of the wheels moving along the inner radius. As well as hydraulic system HBA, which independently increases the pressure in brake system when the driver applies the brakes hard. This significantly reduces braking distances car.

Drive Opel Antara controlled electronic unit. When driving in city or highway conditions, the torque is transferred from the engine only to the front wheelset. But in off-road mode, as well as when hitting a slippery road, all-wheel drive turns on automatically. In this case, the torque is equally redistributed between the front and rear axles. Thus, the power distribution is optimized, the rational fuel consumption of Antara is established and the maneuverability of the car is increased. Forced transition of the car to all-wheel drive mode, as well as differential locks are not provided.

Features Opel Antara 2012. Body and interior.

Externally, the Opel Antara 2012 is not much different from its predecessor. Full face changes affected only the radiator grille and the shape of the bumper, in which the lower cutout of the false radiator appeared, and the anti-fog optics were located slightly higher. In the rear, in addition to the bumper, the lighting equipment has also undergone changes. Compared to the 2008 model, in the restyled Opel Antara, the dimensions of the body have matured somewhat.

Opel Antara dimensions, length - 4596 mm;

Opel Antara dimensions, width - 2085 mm;

Opel Antara dimensions, height - 1761 mm.

The wheelbase of the crossover also added solidity. Now it is equal to 2707 millimeters. The aerodynamic qualities of the model, although far from the status of a sports coupe, are quite acceptable for an SUV car. Air resistance coefficient -0.38. The best dynamics demonstrates Antara in performance with a 184-horsepower turbodiesel. From zero to one hundred, the crossover accelerates in 9.7 seconds. Max Speed- 200 km / h.

Salon Opel Antara visually has not changed much, although the interior of the car now looks very spacious. The dimensions increased in the updated Antara had a positive effect on the useful volume of the trunk. IN updated version it has grown by more than 13 gallons and is 420 liters. And in the mode of folded rear seats, it increases by another 1000 liters. Decent business performance.

Speaking of seats. Three adult passengers can comfortably fit on the rear sofa of the Opel Antara. In addition, the driver's seat can be adjusted not only longitudinally, but also in height.

The multifunctional steering wheel is also adjustable in two modes - tilt and reach. Thanks to this, the driver of any physique can choose an ergonomically optimal posture for himself. The parking brake lever has been replaced with a button. The next interesting solution is a “secret” compartment under the glass holders between the seats. In it, in addition to a convenient pencil case, additional AUX-input and USB connectors are hidden.

The main and really remarkable feature of the interior upgrade of the Opel Antara was the sound insulation indicator. Integrated design solutions resulted in a 3 dB drop in the noise level, that is, twice from the previous figure. Not every premium sedan can boast of this.

Options.

The equipment familiar to the Opel Antara has also changed somewhat. Now the crossover is available in two guises, and one of them with an "addition": ENJOY + ENJOY * and COSMO.

Democratic ENJOY already looks quite solid. In the presence of an active safety system, climate control, power windows, heated front seats and an excellent audio system.

Extended ENJOY * in addition received an on-board computer, cruise control, parking sensors and a GID display. The COSMO version has leather upholstery, a rain sensor, xenon headlights with a washer system, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, and a host of other nice amenities and frills.

For Russian market the Opel Antara crossover is produced at the Opel assembly plant near St. Petersburg.
