Despite the fact that the ZAZ Forza is definitely not a sports car, the measurements of acceleration dynamics caused a lively discussion among readers. Many of them were skeptical about the results. Against this background, the idea was born to check the real power and torque of the new Ukrainian car. And try to objectively confirm that ZAZ Forza is not a sleepy fly; its motor allows you to calmly stay in the city stream and overtake on a country road.

No sooner said than done. At the end of November, a test ZAZ Forza with serial number 768 drove into a certified engine stand. Stand manufacturer - European company V-Tech, which supplies its products to professional racing teams, as well as serious tuning enthusiasts. The stand is able to take measurements on both axles of the car, with a power of up to 1000 hp.

However, our requests were much more modest... The technical characteristics of the stand provide measurement accuracy with deviations of no more than 0.1%. At the end of the test, a graph is formed that clearly shows what the power and torque values ​​​​are at all stages. "Autocentre" made two control measurements. So measurement. The car "nested" on the rollers of the dyno-stand and is securely fastened with straps. Behind the wheel - a company specialist conducting tests. The computer screen displays the "speed" of the car and engine speed. There is incredible noise in the room. This mighty fan drives air into the ZAZ Forza radiator. The motor spins up to a cutoff of 6200 rpm in fourth gear, which is closest to a straight line. And silence sets in - ZAZ Forza "stops". Then the measurement graph is printed.

Above the graph are the peak power and torque values. ZAZ Forza reached 107.4 hp power at 6168 rpm and 127.2 Nm of torque at 5213 rpm. It is characteristic that the torque reaches 107 Nm already at 1500 rpm. That's why ZAZ Forza is easy to move. Further, the torque increases slightly, and starting from 2500 rpm, the torque curve becomes almost flat, at the level of 120-125 Nm, and remains so until the cutoff. Of course, ZAZ Forza did not break records and did not tear the running drums of the dyno stand to shreds. But, overall, it performed well. The deviation of real power from the declared one was 1.5%.

For clarity, we present the factory data and the results of our measurements in the table:

We leave with the parting words of a specialist: “Your ABS malfunction light will light up now, it always happens. During the tests, the front wheels are spinning, the rear ones are stationary. The ABS sensor at such a moment refuses to understand what is happening, but will return to normal after a kilometer of normal driving.
So it is, on the dashboard - a yellow symbol of problems with the anti-lock braking system. Efficiency returned even earlier - after 400-500 meters the alarm signal disappeared.

What is the result? Frankly, I was worried before the start of the tests. What if ZAZ Forza does not live up to the declared indicators? But everything ended well. The manufacturer indicates objective data, this is a fact. But what about the difference in values? Such differences are one and a half to two horsepower- a common occurrence, characteristic of almost all manufacturers. It can be easily explained, for example, by the difference in measurement methods and fuel quality.

Let's return from bench tests to everyday operation. And let's talk about the engine. It's winter outside, during the day it's -1-3 C0 outside. In the ZAZ Forza engine - original oil GM (SAE 5W-30 viscosity) filled during zero maintenance.

Periodically, the morning begins with checking the dipstick. The oil level is kept at the maximum, unchanged for 2000 km after service. With cold weather, the engine still starts easily. But his voice, in the first minutes after the start, changed. The hydraulic lifters “speak” dryly and loudly. This continues for 1-2 minutes after launch. Then, "having drunk" the oil, the hydraulic lifters fall silent. There is no crime in the identified feature, but I dare to give a recommendation to current and future owners of ZAZ Forza: be careful, do not take off immediately after starting the engine. Do you wash your face and have breakfast after waking up? Give this engine a chance. This way you will save the resource, because 90% of the wear of a modern internal combustion engine occurs in the first minutes after launch, until motor oil"travels" from the oil pan to places that require lubrication. But do not warm up the engine for 10-15 minutes! This is wasted time and money, plus a polluted atmosphere. It is quite enough and 2-3 minutes of warming up before the start of the movement.

ZAZ Forza is a class B car. Presented in the budget segment. Manufacturers advertise it with big words: bright design, powerful "heart", high-quality details. But is it really so? Let's figure it out.

Driver reviews are different. There are some positive ones, but there are also some downright negative ones. Of course, a cheap car has its drawbacks, but they are covered low cost. The buyer will have to decide for himself whether he is ready to put up with them.

Briefly about the car

It is unlikely that anyone will argue that the most popular cars are representatives budget segment. An alternative to Chinese copies is the Forza model, produced on the Conveyor was launched in 2010. The manufacturer thought that this car would become the successor to the already familiar ZAZ Chance / Sens. But as time has shown, he filled the empty niche, which was vacated after being discontinued Opel Astra G.

The Austrian designers were engaged in the development of the model. The basis was Chery A-13. Due to the fact that the assembly was carried out at the Ukrainian plant in the city of Zaporozhye, the final cost per car turned out to be quite attractive, which made it possible to compete with such famous models, as "Priora", "Kalina", "Grant" model range Lada.

Body Features

The manufacturer introduced several versions of ZAZ Forza: hatchback and sedan. As for the first type of body, its dimensions are:

  • 4139 mm - length;
  • 1492 mm - height;
  • 1686 mm - width.

The sedan has almost the same dimensions. It differs only in length. In the sedan, it is 130 mm (4269 mm) larger.

The curb weight (1275 kg) and the wheelbase (2527 mm) are the same in these cars. And here ground clearance more sedan than hatchback. The first clearance is 370 mm, and the second - 300 mm.

Appearance The ZAZ Forza car can hardly be called original, since Chery A-13 was taken as the basis for this model. All the same streamlined shapes, inflated parts, a voluminous bumper, the shape of the radiator grille are already familiar to domestic drivers. However, it cannot be said that the car has not been finalized in terms of design. All the details are harmoniously combined with each other, making up a complete overall composition.

Specifications

The appearance of the car is not the main selection criterion. Most drivers pay attention technical specifications, in particular, the "stuffing", which is hidden under the hood. ZAZ Forza is equipped with only one type of power plant - ACTECO SQR477F. AVL employees were involved in its development. The motor is based on four cylinders. The volume of the unit is 1.5 liters. The maximum power of this power plant is 109 hp. from. Torque indicator - 140 Nm.

The model is front wheel drive. This unit is equipped with one type of transmission - manual transmission. At the front of the car, McPherson suspension and disc suspension are implemented. brake system. But at the back, a semi-independent spring type with drum brakes is installed.

Driving performance: reviews

ZAZ Forza car gets not the most good feedback to the aerodynamic properties. Drivers think that power point does not meet the manufacturer's specifications. When accelerating, you hear in the cabin characteristic sound which indicates poor sound insulation. The hum appears as soon as the car is gaining about three thousand revolutions.

The maximum limit of the ZAZ Forza is a speed of 160 km / h, but the drivers claim that they accelerated to no more than 130-140 km / h. As for fuel costs, this model cannot be called economical. In the city, it consumes up to 10 liters, and in the combined cycle - 7.2 liters.

Do not hit the driver and the acceleration rate. From a place, the car will pick up the first “weave”, spending almost 12 seconds.

Advantages and disadvantages

Having considered the features of the car, it's time to highlight all its advantages and disadvantages. The first ones include:

  • attractive design;
  • comfortable salon;
  • optimal balance between the quality of materials and cost;
  • inexpensive service.

What did users name as disadvantages? This:

  • low clearance;
  • poor sound insulation;
  • high flow fuel.

ZAZ Forza: price

This model car is considered the cheapest of those presented on Russian market. It is worth noting that it even surpassed the legendary Lada series. Of course, in terms of demand, the latter are still in the lead, but in terms of cost, Forza is out of competition. In car dealerships, this copy is presented with a price tag from 390 to 420 thousand rubles. The choice of configuration affects the formation of cost. Three packages are offered: Base (standard set of options), Comfort and Lux.

I must say right away that I took pictures of the car only in the parking lot, I didn’t manage to take pictures during the course, all because: firstly, I was driving, and secondly, the salon manager said that you can’t take pictures! But still a lot of photos gathered, and as usual there is a video file.

So, designed by Chinese by Chery, and is called Chery A 13. Now a car assembled in Ukraine is being delivered to Russia, I already wrote about this. I won’t repeat myself, but I’ll just remind you that Forza, in Ukraine, is called the Lada killer.

Exterior ZAZ FORZA

While the manager was fiddling around in the cabin, looking for the keys and filling out paperwork for a test drive, I took the opportunity and took a picture of the car.

The body looks pretty good, the front is elongated, the rear is short and cut off sharply. This is done on sports cars, but to call it a sports car, the language does not turn.

I must say the parts fit together very well, the gaps are even, no distortions were noticed, as is usually the case on Chinese cars. The only thing that personally caught my eye was the protruding plastic wheel rims, not very beautiful.

But in defense, I’ll say the metal is not as toy as on former Chinese cars, this is definitely a plus. Also, a spot weld is quite common, which strengthens the body is also a plus. I even climbed into the wheel arches. Here is a photo

The rubber is really disappointing, it is tough and not a manufacturer known to me. It makes a lot of noise while driving, even at low speeds. So definitely change. And what did you want "Forza" - very budget car and nobody on it expensive tires will not put, but in our review only the truth. Here is a photo of the name of the rubber. It is called "Solazo".

On a long, slightly slick front, in front were fog lights but there was no radio, why?! Paradox!

In general, the exterior did not leave any negative, everything is done according to the mind.

The cabin is spacious, front and rear passengers they will feel good, their legs do not rest anywhere, so the long road is not terrible, you can sit comfortably.

The front seats are well made, there is even some lateral support. The material of the seats is two-colored, leaves much to be desired, thin, it seems to me that it will not last long. See for yourself.

The plastic is very hard and budget, some panels are already rattling when moving, and this new car, also crickets were heard from the continuation of the torpedo, in the area of ​​​​the handbrake. It is felt that there is no sound insulation at all, even with the windows closed, the road is perfectly audible, as is the engine. The shift lever feels good in the hand and has a leatherette cover. As I already wrote, there was no radio, the middle console has three adjustment knobs - the position of the air supply damper, the adjustment of warm and cold air, the air supply of the stove / air conditioner. The steering wheel is made of cheap plastic, but it sits well in the hand. The doors close with a roar, it seems to me that our basins are about the same, we need sizing.

There are buttons on the driver's door: control of all power windows, unlocking the trunk and gas tank hatch, as well as adjusting the mirrors. Not bad!

The trunk is large considering that this is a liftback, I think taking large-sized cargo will not be a problem.

Engine and suspension

I will tell you that, the engine has a rather bad traction, pressed the gas and the car quickly accelerates, 1.5 liters. and power (109 hp). The only thing it seemed to me was that the speeds were a little stretched, but there were no complaints about the inclusion, the box worked out for five! Also, the engine is noisy, everything is perfectly audible in the cabin! The suspension is stiff, on small bumps and rails, and I specifically sent the car to those areas where there were rails, the car shakes, the interior plastic creaks and is friends with crickets. In general, definitely sizing and wheel arch liners, otherwise it will be impossible to ride.

Pedigree
ZAZ Forza is the name for the Ukrainian market of the Chery A13 model, which was sold with us for a short time with a Chinese name. The car was created by Chery Automobile back in 2009, and its mass production started in China in 2010. According to Chery Vice President Ju Biren, more than 100,000 A13s have already been sold in China.

The Chinese company is rightfully proud of the Chery A13, as they have already created this car. on your own, without borrowing and copying world analogues.

Italian designers from the Torino Design studio were involved in the development, and harmony and modern trends in automotive fashion are already felt in the appearance of the car.

ACTECO's new generation engines were developed jointly with the Austrian company AVL, as a result of which it was possible to achieve their compliance with Euro-4, and in the future Euro-5. Yes, and specific power indicators are impressive. So, the ZAZ Forza engine with a working volume of 1497 cc. produces 109 hp at 6000 rpm, and a torque of 140 Nm.

Strategy
ZAZ entered the crisis of 2008-2009 very quickly. The plant had to be stopped, as consumer demand in Ukraine collapsed literally in a matter of months at times. Not a trace remains of the former volumes of full-scale production of 150 thousand. In 2009, ZAZ produced 43.9 thousand cars, including SKD assembly, and in 2010 - 42.2 thousand cars.

The only hope was for export to Russia. But here, too, the plant had to face an unforeseen circumstance. General Motors in 2009 refused to buy cars for sale in Russia Chevrolet Lanos. It was necessary to urgently build a distribution network from scratch, start selling it on our own. I had to enter the markets of the CIS countries with a new name - ZAZ Chance. Partially, this made it possible to load the plant, but still, more than 50% of the capacity remained vacant. The production of "Tavria" had already been curtailed by that time, and "Slavuta" was extremely difficult to sell due to high overhead costs, although it was the most affordable car on the market.

Even then it was clear that only export could save the plant. ZAZ urgently needed another car with which it was possible to enter not only the Ukrainian market, but also sell it in other CIS countries. In 2009, ZAZ began SKD assembly of KIA C'eed, and the plant's shareholders negotiated full-scale production with the Korean corporation. At first, the prospects seemed to be good, but KIA Motors relied on factories in Russia, and very reluctantly agreed to contract assembly.

In parallel, Chery experienced difficulties with the organization of production in the CIS. This company was one of the first to come to Russia, actively developed, organized the assembly of its cars at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant to reduce costs, and was ready to build its own plant in Russia. But the expansion of Chinese cars was opposed by the powerful lobby of the Russian car industry. From the beginning, Chery was not given the opportunity to receive benefits and build its own plant, then Avtotor broke the assembly contract, and the distributor changed.

Chery began to look for new car factories, and was forced to organize production in Taganrog, where the local manufacturer sold part of the cars under its Vortex brand, and gave part to the Chery dealer network. Chinese automakers were also negotiating with the Belarusian authorities, promising to build a plant in Minsk, but then they feared that the deterioration of political relations between Russia and Belarus would leave them without a main market.

All this time, negotiations were underway with ZAZ, and gradually Chery's positions became more loyal, which eventually resulted in a strategic partnership agreement. ZAZ received the right to produce Chery car A13, which will be sold on the Ukrainian market under the name ZAZ Forza. For the Russian market, by order of Chery itself, ZAZ will supply cars under the Chery brand.

The agreement assumes that ZAZ will localize more than 50% of the added value of the finished car, including assembling the engine and gearboxes.

Thus, the partners got what they wanted. ZAZ is another model for loading production and selling on the Ukrainian market under its own name. Chery - access to the Ukrainian market, and most importantly - Russia, as Ukrainian-made cars can be delivered duty-free to Russia. Official documents show a production figure of 10,000 cars in 2011, of which 2,500 will be sold in Ukraine and 7,500 in Russia. But more significant capacities have been allocated for the Forza project. In the current mode of operation, the plant can produce up to 8 cars per hour, which is equivalent to 24,000 cars per year.

Investments in the ZAZ Forza project amounted to about $30 million, moreover, according to the Honorary President of the UkrAvto Corporation Tariel Vasadze, the partners divided the costs in half.

Both ZAZ and Chery do not hide the fact that as soon as Ukraine enters the free trade zone with the EU, deliveries of cars to the European Union are also possible.

During the presentation of ZAZ Forza, Vice President of Chery Automobile, Ju Biren, said that he was satisfied with the cooperation with UkrAvto and ZAZ, and the partners are already discussing the second model, the production of which will be mastered by ZAZ. She will be called in 3-4 months.

Judging by the rhetoric, ZAZ finally has a strategic partner. But it's too early to talk about it definitively. How many were there before? Daewoo, General Motors, AvtoVAZ, KIA, and even Daimler-Chrysler. ZAZ has already carried out full-scale production of Opel Astra, Lada-21093\99, planned the production of an E-class car, etc. But only Lanos was able to keep production.

An alliance with Chery could be very promising, given that it is one of the fastest growing companies in the world. Chery is already talking about sales of 1 million cars, although 4-5 years ago it produced 200-300 thousand cars, mainly Amulet and QQ. Now Chery already has its own engineering center, modern engine production, and several factories. ZAZ may become Chery's partner in the CIS, and possibly the first bridge to enter the European Union. But there are many political hurdles along this rosy path, so it's too early to draw conclusions. It is obvious that ZAZ simply did not have an alternative to cooperation with Chinese manufacturers. In post-crisis conditions, only they were ready to share their technologies with ZAZ.

According to Yuri Plechun, Deputy Head of the Board of ZAZ CJSC, production will initially start with a high degree of localization - by April, the figure will reach 51.7%. At ZAZ, they not only mastered body welding, painting and assembly, but also produce a lot of equipment, assemble engines and gearboxes.

“Is it already difficult to say that there is more Ukrainian or Chinese in Forza?” - says Yuri Plechun. “European cars now also have a lot of Chinese components. Before the start of production, we invited suppliers and, together with them, compiled a localization program. But for us, it is not an end in itself to necessarily put Ukrainian-made components on Forza, if it is profitable to buy them in Europe, we will buy them,” Mr. Plechun continues.

“For economic reasons, we do not yet stamp body parts, as it is very expensive. All stampings are sourced from China. But 6 small details engine compartment already made at ZAZ.

ZAZ has fully mastered the production of plastic bumpers for Forza, almost all interior equipment is also made by ZAZ: instrument panel, door upholstery, ceiling, maps, seats, individual suspension elements. Forza Ukrainian exhaust systems produced by ZAZ-Bosal JV, partly the power system, will have Ukrainian tires, disks, batteries, air conditioning parts.

A separate line was installed in the welding shop for Forza, where for now welding is carried out manually. In the main conductor, the body elements are docked and the body geometry is formed. Then wings are hung on it, doors and the finished body are sent to the paint shop.


Forza painting takes place on the same line where Lanos is painted. Treatment with anti-corrosion primer is carried out by dipping in a bathtub, after which the body is dried and sent to a chamber where robots paint Forza in 10 different colors. In terms of body protection against corrosion, Forza will not yield to Lanos.

After quality control of painting, the body is sent to the assembly shop, where the car is completed on the conveyor from post to post. On the assembly line, Forza is mixed with Lanos, but thanks to the electronic kitting system, the assembler clearly knows which part from which configuration needs to be installed on a particular car.

After the assembly is completed, ZAZ Forza enters the diagnostic line, and the mandatory run on the test track at the factory ends the production cycle.

If during the trip, deviations are detected, the car will be sent for revision. Prepare for handover to dealers of the machine at the site of final acceptance.

The production technology of ZAZ Forza does not differ from that already known to us from Lanos. ZAZ promises both the appropriate quality and its control. Yuriy Plechun is proud that almost the entire interior of the car is already produced in Ukraine, which will guarantee its durability. The brand new ZAZ Forza already even smell like Ukrainians - they joke at the factory.


Era ZAZ Forza
While the ZAZ Forza with a liftback body is leaving the assembly line (the trunk lid rises along with rear window), and in May, production of hatchback models will also begin. There will be only one engine so far - a 1.5-liter gasoline (109 hp). Transmission - mechanical 5-speed. By the way, both the engine and gearbox are assembled in Melitopol (MeMZ), but according to Yuri Plechun, the plant has already begun to produce individual parts for new engines. So, in Melitopol they make liners, covers, flanges, and gears for the gearbox will soon begin to be produced. The ZAZ Forza engine complies with Euro-4 standards, and with minor modifications it reaches Euro-5 standards.

They talk about ZAZ and about robotic box transmissions for Forza, but no specific dates have yet been announced.

At first, ZAZ Forza will be available in 3 trim levels: Base Plus, Comfort and Luxury. The price starts from 79900 UAH. for the initial version, but already for this money the car has air conditioning, power steering, ABS, driver's airbag, electric windows for all windows, heating and electric control of exterior mirrors. The car is initially equipped with high-profile tires of dimension 185 \ 60R15. Warranty - 3 years or 60 thousand km.

ZAZ Forza has already appeared in showrooms, but it is still difficult to say what kind of car it is. During the visit to ZAZ, we managed to drive a couple of laps on the test track, and we are not ready to give estimates based on this trip. Now we can say with confidence that ZAZ Forza will become one of the most popular cars in the coming years in Ukraine, which Lanos once became. The era of Forza is coming at ZAZ.

A company from Austria joined in the creation, and assembly from the very beginning of production took place in Zaporozhye (Ukraine).

Options and "stuffing"

The dimensions of the car are not far from its predecessor (Daewoo Lanos). Here the length, width and height parameters are 4.269*1.868*1.492 meters respectively.

Wheelbase - 2.527 meters. Trunk volume - 370 liters, fuel tank- 50 liters. The curb weight of the ZAZ Forza is 1.275 tons.

As practice shows, the engine turned out to be successful. Volume power unit- 1.5 liters, gasoline, with distributed injection.

The total number of cylinders is four, four valves per cylinder. Motor power - 109 horsepower.

The indicators of maximum torque for such an engine volume are optimal - 140 N * m at 4.5 thousand revolutions.

3. Transmission.

ZAZ Forza models are equipped with five-speed gearbox gears, mechanics. Speeds turn on gently (at any temperature).

However, there are complaints about the rigidity of inclusion at speeds up to 1000-1500.

4. Chassis.

The car has disc brakes on the front wheels and a drum mechanism on the rear.

Suspension ZAZ Forza is independent in front and semi-independent in the back. Tire size - 15 inches, 185/60.

5. Operation.

The manufacturer claims that maximum speed the car is 160 km / h, which is also confirmed by operation. Fuel consumption depends on the selected driving mode.

An economical option is driving on the highway, in which the consumption is 5.8-6.0 liters. When driving around the city, consumption rises to 9.7-10 liters. In the combined cycle - 6.8 liters.

The dashboard is comfortable. The speedometer and tachometer are distinguished by a small radius, which does not interfere with driving.

FROM right side there is the necessary equipment - radio, climate control buttons, handbrake, gear knob and other control devices.

Provided and on-board computer, which displays the main information for the driver - hours, closing (opening) of doors, mileage per day, mileage and current fuel consumption.

ZAZ Forza sedan comes in three trim levels.

  • adjustable front seats (in all directions).

The car is equipped with fog lights (front and rear), steel wheels, an additional brake light and electric (remote) adjustment of mirrors. Also, you do not have to worry about buying a spare wheel (it is already in the database).

Of the minuses - the lack of an audio system (but audio preparation is provided with two speakers installed at the back).

3. The most “stuffed” option is Lux.

Among other things, here is installed:

  • six speakers are installed (instead of four).
