Beetle Juice: Is a Used Nissan Juke Reliable? Nissan Juke - Greenhouse Beetle Other problems and malfunctions.

Perhaps, over the past decade there has not been a more controversial car on the Russian car market than Nissan Juke. There are no drivers who would treat him indifferently: one part hates him fiercely, the other part loves him to the point of madness. Although, it would seem, the car debuted in 2010, in 2012 it began to be sold in Russia, everyone should have gotten used to the extraordinary appearance and interior, but disputes about design still arise. We can only say for sure that dullness is not about the Nissan Juke. It is designed to shock the audience and copes well with this task.

The history of the "beetle" in Russia is a separate issue. Despite the army of detractors, it was a hit before the crisis. Convenient urban crossover format, decent clearance, reasonable equipment, relatively reasonable price. And, of course, design. The taste and color, but often the Nissan Juke was bought solely for the appearance. In Russia, the "beetle" has gained particular popularity among girls - stylish, compact, easy to manage, in addition, girls have less prejudices about pretentious appearance. However, the presence in the line of a version with a 190 hp engine. added to the ranks of owners and lovers of active driving, for nothing that such cars also had a more sporty suspension.

Nissan Juke - side view

Alas, the victorious tread of the Nissan Juke on Russian market ended after the information boards of banks in the dollar column began to write not 30, but 60. The car was never assembled in Russia, which means it was imported for foreign currency. The price became inadequate, and Nissan chose to remove the model from the market altogether. The return of the Nissan Juke to Russia took place in 2016, but one could not count on its former popularity. And times have changed, and the “beetle” itself has not grown younger, age-related sores have already begun to appear in it, and there are few configuration options and motors. The 190-horsepower “lighter” and all-wheel drive were no longer offered after the return. Remained boring 1.6 and CVT. However, the car is still being sold new and, to be honest, with a price of 1.2 million rubles, it does not look very confident against the background budget crossovers other brands, although the original design still attracts buyers.

We, in our tradition, are going to talk more about the shortcomings of the car, since the statistics on the operation of the car in our open spaces have accumulated extensive.

1. Weak paintwork

Nissan Juke has never been assembled in Russia, cars are imported to us from England. Surprisingly, the British are obviously hacking with coloring. On most machines, problems begin to arise after 3-4 years of operation. It's not even about chips, although they are already massively present by this age, just paint starts peeling off. There are two particularly “popular” places - the joints of bumpers and fenders, as well as wiper leashes. For most "beetles" with mileage, these places are either shabby or repainted.

Peel off the paint

To top it all off, chrome does not differ in durability, it quickly begins to swell and peel off. It doesn't affect speed, of course. the presentation of the car loses surprisingly quickly. Considering that many choose the "beetle" for the appearance, this seems to us a serious drawback.

2. Breakdowns in cold weather

On the one hand, the Nissan Juke is well adapted to Russian conditions, but on the other hand, very strange breakdowns often occur in cold weather. Many owners complain that they have cold cracked elements in the rear-view mirrors. There were cases when cracks were found on the head optics.

At the same time, the windshield surprisingly does not suffer, but the attack overtook with stove dampers. It has been noticed that if, on a warm car, immediately turn on the stove to the maximum, then the dampers also quickly begin to burst and do not regulate the air flow. Some absurdity of the breakdown is aggravated by the fact that the dampers are not sold separately, only together with the stove, and this is about $ 800. So with heating on the Nissan Juke, you need to be careful. By the way, there are very conflicting reviews on the stove itself, it’s hot for someone in the car in winter, for someone. The truth seems to be somewhere in the middle.

3. Dimensions of the rear row and trunk

The compact urban crossover is on this Nissan Juke format and fired. The car should be nimble and small, so that it is convenient to park. The Nissan engineers failed to perform a miracle, the car turned out to be small not only outside, but also inside. Claims to the driver and passenger seats no, people of any height and build will sit there, but here rear seats are comfortable only for children or petite girls. The driver, even with a height of 180 cm, is extremely uncomfortable to sit behind himself. It is also better not to think about putting three people on the second row.

Very little back seat

But the real claustrophobia is observed in Nissan in the trunk. 200 liters is only for bags from the supermarket. The seats, of course, fold down, in the double version there is more space for luggage, you can even try to translate something relatively large, but in general, you still need to admit that the “beetle” is a car for 1-2 passengers.

Of the specific sores of the "beetle" it is worth noting the creak of the steering shaft. Even on relatively new cars when turning the steering wheel, there may be unpleasant sounds. The steering wheel does not jam, it works fine, but it's very unpleasant to listen to all this in every turn. The steering wheels on the "beetles" always creaked, but for the entire time the model was released, no one came up with a cardinal way to deal with this scourge. Everyone is lubricated with silicone grease, but this is a fight against symptoms, not a disease. Moreover, silicone needs to be updated periodically - lubricating the shaft once or twice a year has become a habit for many Nissan Juke owners. In general, a trifle, but unpleasant.

5. Variator

The theme with the CVT is as controversial as with the appearance of the Nissan Juke. Reviews about his work are very contradictory, but there is much more negative in them. There were times when already by 100 thousand kilometers, the variator broke down twice. Well, if breakdowns occur during the warranty period, then the unit is simply changed. If the warranty is over, then it needs to be repaired. The official dealer does not deal with such repairs at all, but even for unofficials, the price tag is approaching 100 thousand rubles.

Let's start with the fact that two types were installed on the Nissan Juke. For naturally aspirated engines, the Jatco JF015e model (we know it well from a bunch of Nissan and Renault cars, the box is still actively used and will soon appear on Lada), and for turbocharged engines - Jatco JF011e. Despite the fact that the 190-horsepower "beetle" was purchased mainly by active drivers who often drive in the style of "slipper to the floor", the variator on the all-wheel drive and more powerful version lives much longer than with "pensioner" aspirated. Jatco JF011e breakdowns, of course, happen, but, in general, we can say that this is a reliable unit. You can't say the same about Jatco JF015e.

According to the statistics of one specialized service, the average mileage of these boxes before repair is about 100-120 thousand kilometers. And this is not from the unlucky category, these are mass statistics. The weakest point of this variator is the valve body and its regulator solenoids. During operation, they are damaged so badly that you often have to change the entire unit (a new one costs 50 thousand rubles).

But in addition to the valve body, there can be a lot of problems - the input shaft bearings wedge, the pushing belt wears out, the stepper motor “dies”, the oil pump pressure reducing valve breaks.

To be fair, around 2014-2015, Nissan began to install upgraded firmware and problems with the variator seem to have diminished. In any case, the number of complaints about this model has decreased. This, however, is little consolation for the owners of the "beetles" of the early "tenth" years, who drank a lot of grief with this box. As usual with Nissan, the company on the beetle did not offer any “automatic” alternative to CVTs, it’s good that at least it was possible to order a car with “mechanics”, both for atmospheric engines and for a 190-horsepower “lighter”. "Beetles" with "mechanics" are much more reliable and, by the way, more liquid on secondary market.

Total

The Nissan Juke has a bright history on the Russian market, as bright as the car itself. Nissan at the turn of the "zero" and "tenths" made a number of very successful models and was on trend. "Beetle" was clearly not addressed to everyone, but for the target audience it became an outlet. It turned out that even for relatively little money, you can stand out from the crowd and express your individuality through a car. Except for the variator, with which the owners of atmospheric engines, especially the first years of production, constantly struggled, the car did not have any critical problems. I had to put up with only minor flaws, otherwise - ride and rejoice.

However, today the time of the Nissan Juke is gone. It is reasonable to buy it only in the secondary market, the new one is already outdated and costs unreasonable money for its consumer properties. Nissan would be time to send him to a well-deserved rest. Even bright and extraordinary must someday retire.

Russian automotive market replenished with new sub compact crossover– Peugeot 2008. True to test french car I went to Sevastopol, where I managed to test the car not only in urban conditions, but also in the mountains of Crimea, and this time there were some off-road accidents.

01
Now about the kits. Peugeot 2008 in Russia is available with two gasoline engines: 3-cylinder 1.2-liter gasoline engine 82 liters. with., and a 1.6-liter power unit that develops 115 or 120 hp. with. depending on which gearbox it is aggregated with (mechanics - 115 hp, automatic - 120 hp) In Europe, there are also diesel versions car: the same engine that we put on the Peugeot 208 (1.6l, 92 hp) and a 1.4-liter diesel engine that produces a modest 68 hp. with.

02
After reading the paragraph above, you probably wondered: “why are such low-power motors presented in the engine lineup of this crossover?”. Let's look at the competitors: Opel Mokka in the arsenal there is a turbocharged 1.4-liter power unit, which produces 140 liters. s., however, due to the mass of 1360 kg, a crossover with mechanical box gear accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h slowly, in just 9.9 seconds, while the 120-horsepower naturally aspirated Peugeot 2008 performs the same exercise in 9.5 seconds.

Many, when choosing a car, look exclusively at horsepower and Newton meters, but forget about the mass. The French crossover with a 1.6L engine and a manual transmission weighs only 1080 kg - 280 kg less than the Mokka, and this is a huge difference in the class of subcompact crossovers. In addition to gaining acceleration time, the low weight offers several other advantages, such as easy maneuverability and low fuel consumption. It was possible to achieve such weight indicators due to the widespread use of light and high-strength steels in the production of body elements, as well as laser seamless welding of the body.

03
Let's get back to the set. Peugeot 2008 with 3-cylinder engine is available with either a manual 5-speed transmission or a 5-speed robotic transmission. The version of the car with a full-fledged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine is also equipped with “mechanics” and a 4-speed adaptive “automatic” AL4. Of course, my choice is a “handle”, but who will buy a car with mechanics to move along the busy roads of Moscow? Yes, an automatic transmission of only 4 steps does not shine with a rate of fire, but, thanks to the low weight of the car, the Peugeot 2008 rides with it quite tolerably, and in manual mode you can completely “snap” along the winding Crimean road.

04
Continuing the theme of maneuverability, it is worth noting the excellent stability of the car when cornering at high speed: there are practically no rolls, the car listens sharply to the steering wheel, the crossover does not “chat” on the road during sharp maneuvers. This was noted by all my acquaintances journalists present at the test. reverse side The excellent behavior of the car on the track can be considered a bit harsh suspension (front - multi-link McPherson, rear - torsion beam), however, due to other front springs and new rubber pads, the suspension turned out to be more energy-intensive than in the platform hatchback Peugeot 208. On a dirt road, this was noticeable.

Let's move on to the off-road test. It is clear that this car It is intended mainly for moving around the city, but it’s not for nothing that it was called a crossover, or is it just a marketing ploy? Let's figure it out.

05
Peugeot 2008 is regularly equipped with a metal crankcase, for which, when buying a Nissan Juke, you will be charged an additional 12 thousand rubles. In addition, the French crossover is equipped with plastic unpainted bumpers and plastic sill protection, and under the front and rear bumper there are protective elements of silver color. The car is offered exclusively with front-wheel drive. Looking ahead and answering the question “why do we need a crossover without all-wheel drive”, I will answer that only 9% of the same Juke is sold in the 4WD version.

06
You might think that all this plastic on the body is only a decorative function, but this time I had a chance to test these protective elements. Since I like to seek adventure on my fifth point, I decided to move off the main dirt road down to the side of the mountain.

The descent here is quite sharp, and if you go straight, the car will definitely fall on the bottom. As a result of some thought, I decided to overcome this obstacle diagonally, with the rear left wheel hanging out. As a result, the ramp angle turned out to be too large for this car, and I firmly “lay down” on the right threshold, the car stalled. Only by turning off the EPS and giving it a good gas, with incredible effort and a loud grinding, I was able to move down and be on 4 wheels.

07
I didn't want to get out of the car and inspect the damage, especially looking in the rearview mirror at the horror-stricken faces of fellow journalists. But, having overcome himself, and going out to inspect the crossover, he found that the plastic protection of the threshold had just moved away, which fell into place with a light blow of the fist.

08
I was already driving along another track left by ATVs, and this time I “lay down” on the left threshold, which was also placed in place with the help of a fist. Of course, the crossover did not have enough suspension moves, but this was done for the benefit of good maneuverability on asphalt roads. Yes, by the way, the clearance of the 2008 wave is decent - 170mm to the lowest part of the car. Under the front bumper, for example, the crossover has 210mm at all ground clearance.

09
Finishing the topic with the off-road capabilities of the Peugeot 2008, it should be noted that very soon a crossover version with the proprietary Grip Control system will be available in Russia, which, in fact, imitates a front differential lock, and should contribute to a better car passing through snow, sand or mud. Who does not know, such systems work as follows: the slipping wheel is slowed down, thereby the moment is transferred to the second wheel, which is closer to the ground. Grip Control is only available for vehicles with a manual transmission. I have already tested this system in France, where I managed to ride on diesel Peugeot 2008. I can say that it really helps, especially when starting from a stop on a slippery surface.

10
Let's move on to the interior. The salon in the Peugeot 2008 is from the 208 hatchback and this is the most stylish interior, in my opinion, among the subcompact SUVs: a small oval steering wheel, a concise instrument cluster, a 7-inch touch screen (available already in average configuration Active), a combination of matte and glossy textures of finishing materials, carbon-look plastic inserts, leather interior, handbrake of the original form. The only thing that surprised Peugeot 2008 was the lack of a bright fabric interior, while this option is available for the 208 hatchback.

11
The driving position is comfortable, but there is a critical 5 centimeters of free space from head to ceiling (the seat is set as low as possible), so those drivers whose height exceeds 190 cm may experience some inconvenience. It is worth noting that the small steering wheel does not overlap the instruments and is widely adjustable both in height and reach. In the same Nissan Juke, the steering wheel is not adjustable for reach. That's it, note.

12
I was pleased with the trunk: in a crossover it is much larger than in a hatchback (360 liters versus 280 liters), and its maximum volume reaches 1194 liters, while the car is equipped with a full-fledged spare wheel. By the way, rear seats fold into a flat floor with a flick of the wrist, so you can set up a large enough lounge area in the car for your golden retriever or several French bulldogs.

13
As for the appearance of the novelty, everything is subjective here, but we can definitely say that the design is not as controversial as that of the Nissan Juke. Peugeot 2008 has a more neutral appearance compared to the Japanese class pioneer subcompact crossovers. The car looks fresh, off-road and compact. I think a domestic buyer, mostly female, will appreciate this European car, given its low cost.

The starting price for a Peugeot 2008 in Access with a manual transmission and a 3-cylinder engine is 649 thousand rubles, but I would look at a car with a 1.6-liter engine and "mechanics" in the Active version with the addition of several options like rear parking sensors , electric side mirrors, dual-zone climate control, tinted rear side windows and metallic colors. The cost of such a car will be 788 thousand rubles. For a leather interior, you will have to pay another 45 thousand. Version with 4-speed automatic transmission transmission will cost more than just 35 thousand rubles. Full list options and prices can be viewed by downloading my excel file or by contacting the configurator on the official Peugeot website: http://www.peugeot.ru/2008-preorder/

Despite the reputation of the "unknown little animal" bought for beautiful eyes (actually not), the Nissan Juke has become one of the most popular compact crossovers. However, its reliability is not as good as its appearance.

1. Variator

A small and cute car should be with two pedals, right? Alas, the variator of the most popular version of the crossover (117-horsepower “aspirated” 1.6 with front-wheel drive) is an extremely delicate unit. On cars of the first years of production, it was sometimes enough for only 30–40 thousand kilometers! Then the unit was modernized, but its resource did not increase dramatically.

What to do

If you got a completely middle-aged Juke, then you should check the “brain” of the variator with the dealer: the first versions of the software were “raw”. It is also advisable to replace the oil in the box with fresh one. And then - drive as carefully as possible, without sharp starts and painful races for the variator on high curbs. It’s even better to look for a Juke with a turbo engine: Nissan installed a CVT of a different design with it, capable of driving 250,000 km before overhaul.

2. Turbo engine

Unfortunately, the most powerful 192-horsepower Juke also does not guarantee its owner a carefree existence. Unlike a naturally aspirated engine, a turbocharged 1.6 can be frustrating with chain-stretching rattling and problems with the direct injection system.

What to do

You will have to pay about 50 thousand rubles for replacing the chain, but, fortunately, only once: its modern iteration is already reliable. To avoid trouble with fuel system, it is worth refueling only at proven gas stations, and also periodically (for example, when changing candles every 30 thousand km) flush fuel injectors. The issue price is only 3-4 thousand rubles.

3. Radiators

Behind the front bumper there are several of them at once - radiators for the engine, variator, air conditioner ... And the turbo engine also has an intercooler. Their common enemies are dirt and corrosion, driven by road chemicals. In a metropolis, the air conditioner radiator can rot in 3-4 years, the variator cooling tubes last a little longer.

What to do

Radiators should be washed and cleaned periodically. And not only in winter. A main radiator clogged with dirt leads to overheating of the engine in traffic jams. And a boiled engine - either turbocharged or naturally aspirated - may require an expensive repair of a warped cylinder head.

The variator radiator, together with tubes in club services, is changed to more productive and durable ones - with them the box will last longer.

4. Power unit support

Another problem that haunts a used Nissan Juke, regardless of the engine version, is the vibration of the car on idling. Guilty of them rear support engine, failing after 60-70 thousand kilometers.

What to do

A worn bearing will need to be replaced. Fortunately, it is not very expensive - about 3 thousand rubles. And in order for the new one to last longer, it is better to avoid jerks at the start.

5. Suspension parts

The small Nissan Juke looks solidly built, but its chassis is not very reliable. The list of what will almost certainly have to be replaced at a run of 100 thousand kilometers is quite long: shock absorbers (rear before the front), stabilizer struts and bushings, front wheel bearings. From the exotic - silent blocks that wear out to 50-60 thousand, through which the front subframe is attached to the body.

What to do

Although the Juke is listed as a crossover, it doesn't like bad roads. The resource of the same parts for a “city” car and one that drives in the outback can differ significantly. This should be taken into account when choosing a Juke. And, of course, further - during operation.

6. Chrome and varnish

A small crossover is painted in Japanese style - a rather thin layer that is easily scratched or chipped. First of all, the arches, hood, tailgate suffer. There were also cases when the varnish peeled off the body elements. And chrome on a few elements can become cloudy in the very first winter.

What to do

Take care of the body. Protective wax compounds will not be superfluous. And in winter, it is worth washing off salt and reagents from the car more often. Only choose a car wash wisely - one where the car is less tinder and thoroughly wash off the dirt and foam.

7. Squeaks in the cabin

The interior of the "Dzhuk" is emotional - to match the exterior. And it also has a lot of smooth and hard plastic, which starts to creak after 2-3 years. The large “cap” of the center console is especially prone to this. Another, slightly less trivial source of noise is the steering shaft seal, which creaks when the steering wheel is turned.

Let's talk about the features junior crossover Nissan with the most striking and controversial design, as well as the nuances of choosing such used cars, based on the experience of their owners.

Women's Favorite

This summer, the most eccentric crossover of the Nissan brand, the “big-eyed miracle” Juke, again entered the Russian market. An extraordinary rogue who left our country last year due to the exchange rate difference, which made him too expensive, is now offered to customers at a price of 1,099,000 rubles.

However, those few motorists who liked the design of the SUV have a much more affordable alternative - the Dzhuk with mileage. After all, this model was sold with us before. Juke first appeared on the Russian market in 2011 as a spiritual successor to the once popular "female" model Micra, which was discontinued in 2010.

But is it worth messing with such a 5-6 year old compact crossover? And won’t you then have to fork out for troubleshooting that you inherited from the previous owners of the car? We figured out these issues and will tell you how to choose a Nissan Juke with mileage, so as not to regret it later.

background

The harbinger of the production Nissan Juke, first presented in 2010 in Geneva, was the Qazana concept car similar to it. For the first time, this white crossover with rear-opening doors and a red and white interior made its debut there at the motor show in Switzerland in 2009. The Japanese made the prototype a little more than 4 m long in profile similar to a raised two-door coupe, and instead of the usual radiator grille, five large air intake holes were placed in the front bumper.

The production Juke is built on the same global Renault/Nissan B platform as the Note and Tiida models. Consonant with its name, the English verb to juke can be translated as "to overcome obstacles." And for this crossover, Nissan engineers gave everything you need. It can be either front-wheel drive or with electronic system all-wheel drive All-Mode 4 × 4-I with thrust vector control. The latter divides the torque between the axles, giving back up to 50%.

Under the hood of the "Juka" with mechanics or a CVT, petrol "fours" 1.6 were available - 94-horsepower and 117-horsepower atmospheric and 190-horsepower supercharged. With them, as well as with the 200-horsepower version of the latter on the Juke Nismo, the model was officially sold in Russia. In other markets, the crossover was also available with a 110-horsepower 1.5 diesel engine and a 114-horsepower 1.5 petrol engine borrowed from Tiida and Note.

In 2014, when the model was updated, a small 115-horsepower 1.2 DIG-T gasoline turbo engine appeared under the hood. Juke with this engine, by the way, never made it to Russia. During the restyling of the model, the Japanese improved the 1.6 turbo four and all-wheel drive transmission. Externally, the crossover received a modified lighting, revised bumpers, wheel disks other design and advanced equipment.

There is everything!

Despite the fact that in Russia the Juke was officially sold only with 1.6 engines, in the secondary market we have cars with almost all engines, with the exception of the supercharged 1.2. So if you wish, you can find a car with 1.5-liter gasoline ( 1,5% ) or "renoshny" diesel units (0,5% ). The former are predominantly right-hand drive, privately imported from Japan, while the latter are entirely left-hand drive. The most common option is a crossover with a 117-horsepower aspirated 1.6. They sell the most 78% ). Turbo versions with a 190-horsepower engine are much less common in ads ( 16% ).

"Basic" cars with a derated naturally aspirated 1.6 and mechanics are rare in the secondary market ( 4% ), and top-end 200-horsepower Nismo versions with mileage are now not to be found at all. Since the "Juks" were most often bought by women and for women with an eye on urban operation, most used SUVs are equipped with CVTs ( 73% ). Cars with mechanics - about a third ( 27% ). The bulk of the offered Dzhuks with mileage are mono-drive cars ( 85,5% ). More expensive all-wheel drive versions are in the minority on the secondary market ( 14,5% ).

Rust Free

Body Nissan crossover Juke, thanks to the double-sided galvanized metal from which it is made, and special primers under the layers of paint, resists corrosion well. Even on the first cars brought to Russia 6 years ago, you can not find a trace of rust. And if the owner or mistress of the car took care of it, washed it regularly, especially in winter, when the roads are often watered with reagents, then even the chrome on the emblems can be preserved in its original form. For less caring crossover owners, it peels off or bubbles.

When examining a car you like, you should make sure that there are no “bugs” on the surfaces of its body, which are subject to “shelling” by stones flying from under the wheels. Even decent metal protection can be compromised in areas of severe paint chipping. If they are not started and eliminated in a timely manner, then the car should not have problems with corrosion in the future. But if local foci of the “red plague”, uneven gaps between body panels, as well as a different shade in color are found on the Dzhuk, then it is better to move on to examining other options. This one was most likely in an accident, after which, obviously, it was poorly repaired and poorly painted.

Engines

In our country, the Juke was sold with the same volume of 1.6 petrol engines: an atmospheric 117-horsepower (HR16DE) and its derated 94-horsepower version, as well as a turbocharged 190-horsepower (MR16DDT). Both are in-line "fours" with a timing chain drive. On naturally aspirated versions, a chain worth 5,400 rubles will quietly serve with an engine of 250,000 km, and on turbocharged cars from the first batches of 2011, it could break on a run of up to 50,000 km. "Nissanovtsy" eliminated the problem with a reinforced timing chain for 5900 rubles and a free replacement of the drive as part of a recall campaign.

In general, both motors are quite reliable, but, like true city dwellers, they dislike the cold and especially long trips by frost. In aspirated, after several hours of driving on the highway, the throttle assembly may freeze. Symptoms appear in the following sequence: loss of traction, light bulb on check engine on the dash and then stop the engine. Don't be scared. Just wait for the knot to warm up under the hood and then move on. In a turbo engine, due to condensate thickening in the cold and clogging the crankcase ventilation tube, it can squeeze out the oil dipstick, splashing everything engine compartment oil. Not fatal, but extremely annoying.

In addition, the turbo engine can stall due to the detachment of the boost pressure sensor bracket from the intake pipe. True, for most machines, this node was also replaced during the service campaign. But, nevertheless, it will not be superfluous to check the car before buying for “involvement” in various kinds of Nissan reviews. After all, the turbo "Juki" was recalled for other reasons. For example, due to possible fuel leaks in the rail due to poor fastening of the fuel pressure sensor. But the turbocharger from 89,200 rubles for such machines is surprisingly reliable. Servicemen do not recall cases of its replacement on this model.

And here self service such motors is fraught with unpleasant consequences. A rare garage service knows that the torque of the candles for the Dzhuk engines, however, like for the Ixtrail and Qashqai, is small and limited. Excessive effort when replacing candles can result in a loss of tightness in the cooling system. Signs of such a problem are uneven engine operation and a burning Check engine lamp on the tidy. And if, during regassing, you see a pop-up bubble in the expansion tank, then repairing the motor can be quite expensive.

And how much it will pour out, they will say in the technical center of a Nissan dealer after a “pre-sale” diagnostics of a car worth from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles. Before taking the car for such a check, make sure that its engine speed does not “float” idle move, no trembling, extraneous noise, whistling drive belt, and no oil leaks were found either on the unit itself or under it. Do not be too lazy to look under the car, because all fluid leaks even under decorative covers engine compartment end up under the car.

Variations with checkpoint

Dzhuka manual gearboxes - 5-speed (RS5F) for atmospheric versions and 6-speed (RS6F) for turbocharged ones - will not cause trouble. Unless, when the time comes, it will be necessary to change the clutch. But it is not so expensive - from 9600 rubles for a basket and a disk. And it will hardly be needed more than once every 100,000 km. And changing the oil in the manual gearbox after 90,000 km can even get rid of the noise of the input shaft bearing, if it appears. If the previous owners of the car did not confuse it with an SUV, then there will be no hassle with multi-plate clutches that are not sufficiently protected from water and dirt. rear axles worth 81,000 rubles for each.

But the choice of cars with a CVT common in our country must be approached with great care. The most reliable continuously variable transmission Jatco JF011. It can last faithfully up to 200,000 km before its components need to be replaced due to wear. But it is only for the all-wheel drive Nissan Juke with a turbo engine. The most common variator "Juka" Jatco JF015 is more modern and complex. That makes it less reliable. Before major repairs, it can depart only 100,000 km. For fans of aggressive driving and sharp starts from a traffic light, the input shaft for 7,000 rubles is unlikely to last more than 40,000 km. And a sign of the need to replace it will be the rumble of a bearing for 2300 rubles. Other bearings may hum due to dirty oil in the box.

Therefore, if the car you like does not have a service book, or it has not had maintenance marks from the dealer for a long time, then there is a high risk of purchasing a car with a CVT, which may require sudden repairs costing from 110,000 to 180,000 rubles due to a broken belt. And even completely replacing the box for 300,000 rubles. Not every Nissan dealer has the equipment to look inside the gearbox and tell how long it will live. Indirectly, the absence of jerks during movement and extraneous noise in different positions of the lever, as well as its oil, can tell indirectly about the health of the box. It is initially red and turns black over time. But the dark color of the oil is not as terrible as its smell. If the CVT oil dipstick smells like burning, go look at another Juke. This car has already been “set on fire” by the belt and the repair of its box is only a matter of time.

Rest

The chassis of the Dzhuk is even more tenacious than that of the Qashqai. Up to 100,000 km, almost nothing will have to be done with it. There is, however, one weak point in the front suspension, like the Qashqai, the support bearings of the struts are poorly protected from dirt. They can start to crackle at 50,000 km and cost 2,200 rubles each. But the replacement of levers for 7200 rubles due to the wear of silent blocks will have to take care of closer to 100,000 km. Shock absorbers of 8,600 rubles for the front and at least 5,000 rubles for the rear, as well as ball bearings, may be asked to exit closer to 130,000 km. AT rear suspension closer to 70,000 km of run, due to the wear of the silents, the subframe may thud on bumps. A new one will cost at least 20,500 rubles.

Juke, alas, is not sinless in everyday trifles. Of the most famous - freezing of the door lock cables in winter, when because of this it is impossible to get into the car or it is not possible to close it. If they have not been treated with silicone grease, then water that has entered through weak window seals will do its detrimental job. Another minor nuisance of the Dzhuk is also familiar to the Kashka farmers - the creak of the steering shaft due to a contaminated anther. It will have to be regularly cleaned and lubricated with silicone. And on machines with a multi-wheel, you should check the operation of all buttons on the steering wheel. It happens that the contacts of the steering column cable are frayed, and they do not work.

How much?

For "Juki" with mileage, they are now asking from 450,000 rubles. This is a car with a 117-horsepower engine and mechanics from the first batches that came to us in Russia in 2011. Such cars dashed off at least 80,000 km and look pretty decent. Prices for SUVs with the same aspirated and CVT start at about 550,000 rubles. Powerful turbocharged front-wheel drive Jukes can be found for a little less than 600,000 rubles, and the price tags for all-wheel drive 190-horsepower ones are just beginning with this figure. For the latest versions of 2014-2015 with a range of 20,000 to 40,000 km, they ask for about a million. Basically, these are front-wheel drive crossovers with atmospheric 1.6 and a CVT.

Our choice

We at Am.ru are sure that the restyled Qashqai of the first generation is best suited for the role of a small crossover Nissan with mileage. At the same age and similar price, it will be larger, which means more spacious and roomy. Yes, and more solid. However, if you are a girl who, well, really likes the Juke, then we advise you to take a closer look at the cars with the officially supplied 117-horsepower 1.6 engine and CVT. Such with one owner in TCP and mileage up to 100,000 km can be found from 580,000 rubles. In this case, the year of manufacture, in fact, is not so important. The body would be intact, without rust, damage and traces low-quality repair, and the motor and variator are serviceable.

Considering various offers in the secondary market, it is better to prefer a car with a transparent service history and a service book with regular MOT marks. This option promises fewer problems, because at every MOT in Nissan technical centers it is supposed to carry out a comprehensive check of the condition of the car: from the engine and gearbox to the suspension and paintwork. When defects are found official dealer recommends that the owner eliminate them, about which corresponding marks appear in the service history. This means that the probability of buying a “pig in a poke” is minimized.

Since 2011, the Nissan Juke has been traveling on the roads of Russia, becoming one of the most popular crossovers of recent years. Good dynamics, original appearance, decent safety for the driver and passengers - all this contributes to the promotion of this car in Russia. However, the Nissan Juke also has shortcomings that have shown themselves precisely in Russian conditions.

Looking ahead, it’s worth saying right away that there were no serious breakdowns with the Nissan Juke. The machines are quite reliable and do not irritate with minor breakdowns; for 3 years of operation, the owners have not encountered any marriage or any weak points designs. However, this car has minor flaws that upset many owners. Firstly, this car is not very well adapted to the harsh Russian winter. In severe frosts, the stove heats up far from ideally, the wipers (which are closed by the hood) constantly freeze. Nissan owners Juke already adapted to turn off the engine when the wipers are in the middle of the windshield - especially for this, they train for a long time and catch the moment. However, the problem is relevant only in hard frost when it is not very cold, the snow melts from the warm air flow of the cooling engine, and the brushes do not freeze. My feedback on this issue was widely discussed in the blogosphere and was supported by other drivers.

Secondly, the interior of the Nissan Juke is not very comfortable for family use. It is cramped, it does not have very good sound insulation, and after a while the seats also begin to creak. Very weak and interior lighting, and given that rear doors narrow, getting in and out is difficult. And if in the evening some small thing falls between the seats, then in order to find it, you have to climb for a long time with a flashlight, or wait until morning. Therefore, many owners of this crossover install LED backlighting.

Thirdly, weak side Nissan Juke is not a very convenient location of the necks under the hood. It is necessary, for example, to pour liquid into the washer reservoirs - you will definitely spill a couple of drops. The Nissan Juke's radio tape recorder is not very well adapted - in some configurations, its insufficient Russification was noticed.

Should You Buy a Nissan Juke?

Of course, all of the above disadvantages of Nissan Juke are just "childhood diseases" that every car has. Nissan Juke owners quickly get used to them and no longer notice them during operation. All these minor flaws are covered by a huge number of advantages that this crossover has. So buying a Nissan Juke is only for those who do not pay attention to such trifles.
