Tire pressure for hyundai santa fe. All about tire pressure sensors Hyundai

Hyundai (Hyundai)

AT car tires with a frequency of 2 times a month, it is necessary to monitor the pressure. This will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reduce fuel consumption and extend the life of the tires themselves. Do not forget about comfort, which is not pleasant when driving on overinflated tires. In the table below, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the recommended tire pressure for Hyundai cars.

Pressure in Solaris

The pressure in Hyundai Solaris cars is indicated on the door arch. Solaris tires are recommended to pump 2.2 bar, regardless of the size of the rubber. Naturally, this pressure is in cold tires, i.e. a car that has been at rest for 30 minutes. If you measure the pressure in hot tires, it will be higher than recommended for Solaris. For economical mode, it is recommended to pump tires up to 2.8 bar, this will allow, albeit slightly, but still save on fuel. Although, perhaps, and to the detriment of economy on tires.

What should be the pressure in Santa Fe

Santa Fe belongs to the class of small SUVs, so the pressure in its tires can vary significantly depending on operating conditions and installed tires. Suspension on Santa Fe is soft, so you only need to keep tires with low pressure when you need it, for example, when we drive through the forest. dirty road or you need to reduce the pressure to lower the vehicle height by 2-5 cm.

Winter tire tests:

A total of 13 models were selected for testing. winter tires, of which three are new this year. For the first time, I had the opportunity to try out the Continental IceContact 3 tires and the Velcro Blizzak Ice and Observe GSi-6 from Japanese companies Bridgestone and Toyo. Unfortunately, Michelin refused to provide its new X-Ice North.

Dozen kit test friction tires dimension 195/65 R15 gave very interesting results! Three models are not suitable for all cars, and we do not recommend buying one at all.

We took tires from different price groups - from 2470 to 5150 rubles apiece. The latest model is the Toyo Observe GSi-6, which hit the market this season. There are two new items from last year: the German Continental VikingContact 7 and the Finnish Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3. Updated last year Pirelli Ice Zero FR Russian production.

Well, we had to come to Sweden twice. The first time we sat for a week, skated the entire test program on snow and ice. And then, already in April, on the roads that had just cleared of ice, measurements were taken stopping distance on wet and dry pavement - and appreciated the acoustic comfort and smoothness. Well, then, using the traditional system of translating results into points, they summed up the results.

In the next big test"studded" we collected six sets of 15-inch tires from Western and Eastern manufacturers. Some of the trump cards include experience and the latest technologies, while others have the will to win and affordable prices. Whose will take?

This time we have chosen one of the most popular sizes - 195/65 R15, which suits many small and inexpensive cars. Different markets, different understanding of the product, different design schools. What distinguishes tires from East and West from each other, what are their strengths and weak sides and what should the Russian buyer pay attention to?

Summer tire tests:

Recently, the size of tires in the original equipment of cars has increased significantly. The time of tires R13 175/70 for Zhiguli has gone, now the priorities are "huge bast shoes". This is due to the latest trends in the world and the increased demand for SUVs. Let's take a look at the test in which the Autoreview staff tested Tiguan's native sizes 215/65 R17 and 255/45 R19. In the first size, 6 models entered the starting grid, the second size was presented by 5 models.

Models in different sizes are different, because. most tires in large sizes are made in UHP format. These changes are dictated by sporty style large sizes wheels.

The cheaper the tires, the easier the choice? No, harder! We tested twelve sets of 185/60 R14 summer tires for the most available cars. And not only put all the participants in their places, but also found out what an attempt to save money on a purchase could result in.

Tires 185/60 R14 are bought, as a rule, by owners of Lada cars and older foreign cars. For tire manufacturers, small sizes are not of great interest due to low profitability. Worthy novelties in this segment are a rarity. However, tire manufacturers, who seriously care about the image, try from year to year to improve even though they have become familiar, but quite successful models.

experiencing summer tires size 195/65 R15 for relatively inexpensive cars and see how dramatically their characteristics have changed over the past ten years.
Nowadays, even small cheap cars roll off the conveyor on 15-inch wheels. Many Russians and quite expensive cars they put “tags” with a higher profile - they are preferable on our roads. Tire manufacturers, for which income depends more on the sizes of tires sold than on their number, are indifferent to budget dimensions. New items are offered at least in the seventeen-inch segment, and small sizes are sluggishly updated, usually slightly reducing rolling resistance.
However, there are companies for which Russian market is very important, and they literally fight for the leading positions, annually “grinding” their products, trying to get ahead of competitors in grip properties on dry and wet surfaces. Therefore, there is always intrigue in our tests.

New car models are becoming safer and more reliable systems equipped with various complexes for ease of use. One of such complexes providing additional safety during operation various types cars is to monitor tire pressure.

Sensors for new models

As we all know, maintaining exactly the right pressure in the wheels ensures the safest movement in a car, saves fuel consumption, and makes steering easier.

Some advanced models of monitoring systems can not only monitor tire pressure, but also the air temperature in the chambers. In this article we will consider their main characteristics, causes of malfunctions and installation, dismantling of this system with our own hands.

Such a system can control the following parameters:

  • wheel punctures;
  • disassembly of a tire from a disk;
  • overheating of the air in the wheel;
  • air etching through the nipple;
  • exceeding the maximum permissible loads on tires.

Tire pressure monitoring system Hyundai Creta monitors pressure and temperature. The sensors of all wheels are combined into one common control system. All indications are processed in the block electronic control ECU. It is included in the factory on-board computer. All information is displayed on the car display. In more advanced configurations, this data can be duplicated by light signaling and data transmission to a mobile phone.

If there are no pressure sensors installed in the factory equipment of the car, you can install them yourself, and place the control unit in the cabin, see the photo for more details. Communication between the sensors and the control unit takes place on the 433.92 MHz band via radio transmission. When the battery is discharged, it is necessary to completely change the sensor.

Mounting sensors in Hyundai models Creta is carried out through a special adapter, which is rigidly fixed to rim. A cap is already screwed onto this device from the outside. Pressure sensors in Hyundai differ in that the control system itself can recognize which wheel the signal is coming from, that is, they do not need to be numbered.

The pressure is determined by the tire circumference measurement method. On an empty tire, one rotation of the tire is faster than on a normally inflated one. By measuring this difference, you can determine the air pressure in the tires. Plus, information from the ABS system is used. Negative side such a system is that it is impossible to measure the pressure in the parking lot, since the wheel is stationary.

When a drop in tire pressure is detected, the on-board computer will issue warnings:

  • in the form of a light signal about the descent of the wheel,
  • emergency triangle in a malfunction in the car;
  • a picture of a car with a spare tire marked.

It is not possible to turn off the pressure sensors in the car on your own, since this system is integrated into the on-board computer. If the sensors are removed from the wheels, the system will display Emergency Signal and the control unit will put the machine into service mode.

To completely disable this option, you need to contact a specialist to flash the on-board computer. Another option to bypass this system can be considered setting false information for the on-board computer about the state of the sensors. But this also requires the intervention of a specialist.

If the tire pressure sensor is on while the machine is in operation, and the wheels are in good condition, the sensor may be damaged. This can be caused by a number of reasons:

  • if the wheel fell into a sufficiently deep pothole and the sensor attachment point was damaged;
  • when the wheel was bent at the tire fitting, the sensor was damaged;
  • the resource of the battery has expired;
  • the sensor just failed.

In this case, it is not possible to replace the faulty sensor on your own, since it is necessary to re-bead the wheel, which is possible only in specialized workshops. A special tool is used to remove the sensor from the mount, and it may also be necessary to calibrate and reprogram the sensors. Therefore, there is only one way out - to go to the service station.

Hyundai Tussan is equipped with pressure sensors installed on the wheel rims. All sensors are the same. The system recognizes signals from sensors automatically and outputs information to the standard head unit. The frequency at which the sensors of this model operate is 433.0 MHz. The battery is enough according to the manufacturer's calculations for 7-8 years of operation.

When buying a car from the salon with a winter kit, or depending on the season, vice versa summer tires We recommend checking the completeness of the wheels with sensors. Often the sensors are only on one set. In this case, the operation of the car will be inconvenient due to the constant indication of a TPMS system error, this can be seen in the video.

The sensors provide pressure readings with an accuracy of 0.01 atm. When the car is parked, the sensors are in sleep mode and do not consume energy; activation occurs only while the car is moving. It is also possible to disable this system only by flashing the on-board computer. We discussed this in more detail above.

Sensor for Santa Fe

The main difference between the control system in the Hyundai Santa Fe from Creta and Tussan is that the sensors are prescribed by a special program, each in its place. Therefore, if after repairing the wheels they are interchanged, then dashboard the error symbol lights up. You can turn it off by installing the wheels in their places or by flashing the sensors at official dealer. This procedure takes five minutes and allows you to correctly specify the location of the sensors.

Santa Fe car owners complain about a common glitch in this system. It happens that an error is displayed on the display, and the wheels are all inflated evenly. To eliminate the glitch, it is necessary to pump up the problem wheel to 300 kPa, and then equalize the pressure in all tires using the pressure gauge. As a rule, such a procedure is quite enough for Santa Fe and after that the error goes away. The owners of the Hyundai Creta and Tussana did not report such errors.

In general, we can conclude that Hyundai is trying to protect car owners to the maximum with a similar tire pressure monitoring system. The lineup Solaris is also equipped with similar sensors. The system works and promptly informs the driver about the condition of the wheels. Information is updated every 60 seconds, which allows you to have the most up-to-date data.

Low Tire Pressure Warning Light (1) / TPMS Fault Indicator (2)

In cold weather, monthly check the pressure in each of the tires, including the spare wheel (if equipped) and, if necessary, bring the tire pressure to the manufacturer's recommended level (indicated on the information plates of the car and tire pressure level). (If your vehicle is fitted with tires that are not the size indicated on the labels, you must determine the correct tire pressure for them.)

As an additional safety feature, your vehicle may be equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which provides an indication of a significant reduction in pressure in one or more tires using a low tire pressure warning light.

If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, you should stop the vehicle as soon as possible, check the condition of the tires and bring them to the correct pressure level. Continued driving with low tire pressure can cause overheating and mechanical failure of the tires. Under-inflated tires also increase fuel consumption, shorten tire life, and can affect vehicle handling and stopping distance.

Please note that the use of TPMS does not mean that the tires do not need to be properly maintained or maintained at the correct pressure, even if the reduction in pressure level is not enough to trigger the TPMS low tire pressure warning.

The vehicle is also equipped with a TPMS malfunction indicator to monitor the correct operation of the system. The TPMS malfunction indicator is integrated with the low tire pressure indicator device. If a malfunction is detected, the indicator device will flash for about one minute and then become permanently lit. This sequence will be repeated on subsequent engine starts as long as the fault is present. If the malfunction indicator light is on, the low tire pressure may be incorrectly detected or indicated. A malfunctioning TPMS system can be caused by a variety of reasons, including installing or changing tires or wheels.

Always check the TPMS malfunction indicator light after changing or swapping one or more tires or wheels to ensure that the TPMS is working.

If the low tire pressure indicator (TPMS) does not come on for 3 seconds after turning the ignition key to BKJI(ON) or starting the engine, or continues to flicker for about 3 seconds, contact an authorized Kia dealer.

Tire pressure warning light

If the tire pressure warning lights come on, it indicates a significant reduction in pressure in one or more tires.

Reduce your speed immediately. Avoid sharp turns and remember to increase your stopping distance. In this case, stop the vehicle immediately and check the tire pressure.

Inflate the tires to the correct pressure as indicated on the information labels located on the B-pillar of the body shell panel on the driver's side. If you can't get to a service station, or the tire won't hold the added air volume, replace the low pressure tire with a spare.

In this case, the TPMS malfunction indicator and low tire pressure indicator may come on and stay on after the engine is restarted and for approximately 20 minutes of continuous driving until the flat tire is repaired and replaced.

In cold weather, the low tire pressure warning light may come on if the tire is at the recommended pressure for warm weather. This does not indicate a malfunction of the TPMS system, since a decrease in temperature leads to a proportional decrease in tire pressure.

When driving from an area of low temperature to an area of high temperature and vice versa, or if the outside temperature is much higher or lower, check the tire pressure and bring it up to the recommended level.

Under-inflation hazard Too low tire pressure can cause you to lose control of your vehicle and increase your stopping distance.

Continued driving with low tire pressure can cause overheating and mechanical failure of the tires.

TPMS system malfunction indicator (tire pressure monitoring system)

If there is a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system, the low tire pressure indicator will flash for one minute and then turn on continuously. If the system is capable of simultaneously detecting a low tire pressure warning and a system malfunction, the TPMS system malfunction indicator and the low tire pressure indicator may be lit at the same time. For example, if the front left wheel sensor fails, if the system malfunction indicator light comes on, but the pressure in the remaining tires is lower than the required one, this can be indicated on the indicator device at the same time as the TPMS system malfunction indicator is illuminated.

The system malfunction indicator T may also come on when the vehicle passes power cables or radio transmitters (for example, past a motor vehicle inspection post, government agencies, broadcasting stations, military installations, airports, transmitting stations, etc. The resulting interference may cause a malfunction in operation of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The TPMS malfunction indicator may come on if the tires are fitted with snow chains or any electronic devices (such as a laptop, Charger for mobile phone, remote starter, satellite navigation system, etc.). This may interfere with the normal operation of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Replacing a tire equipped with a TMPS system

If the tire is flat, the Low Tire Pressure and Position alarm messages will appear. We recommend that you have the system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

The sealant from the tire pressure sensor and the wheel will be removed when the tire is replaced with a new one.

Each wheel has a tire pressure sensor that is mounted inside the tire behind the valve stem. TPMS compatible wheels must be used. We recommend that you always have your tires serviced by an authorized Kia dealer.

The indicator device will remain lit even after replacing a blown tire with a spare until the blown tire has been repaired and installed.

If a deflated tire is replaced with a spare, the TPMS malfunction indicator light may come on and remain lit for several minutes because the spare tire's TPMS sensor has not been initialized.

After a deflated tire is re-inflated and the wheel is reattached to the vehicle, or the TPMS sensor in the spare tire is initialized at an authorized Kia dealer, the TPMS malfunction indicator and low tire pressure indicator will turn off after a few minutes of driving.

If the indicator does not turn off within a few minutes of driving, we recommend that you have the system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.

ATTENTION in case of replacing the original wheel with a spare wheel, it is necessary to initialize the TPMS sensor on the installed spare wheel and deactivate the TPMS sensor on the removed original wheel. If the TPMS sensor on the original wheel is not deactivated and the wheel is placed in the spare wheel holder, the tire pressure monitoring system may not function properly. We recommend that you have the system serviced by an authorized Kia dealer.

A tire that is under-inflated may appearance no different from tires with normal pressure. Always use a quality pressure gauge to measure tire pressure. Please note that in a bus with more than high temperature(e.g. after driving) there will be a higher level of pressure compared to a colder tire (if the vehicle has not been driven for more than 3 hours or traveled less than 1 mile in a 3 hour period). Wait until the tire has cooled down before measuring the tire pressure.

This means that the vehicle has not been driven for 3 hours or traveled less than 1 mile (1.6 km) in a 3 hour period.

If your vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, we recommend using a Kia-approved sealant. Liquid sealant can damage tire pressure sensors.

The TPMS is not designed to alert you to sudden tire damage caused by external factors such as sharp objects on the road.

If the vehicle's behavior on the road becomes unstable, immediately take your foot off the accelerator pedal, depress the brake pedal smoothly and with little force, and slowly bring the vehicle to a safe position on the road.

Improper use, modification, or disabling of tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) components may affect the system's ability to alert the driver to low tire pressure or a malfunction of the TPMS system. Improper use, modification, or disabling of tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) components may void your vehicle's warranty.

It is forbidden to make modifications to the vehicle, as this may affect the functionality of the TPMS system.

Wheels available on the market are not equipped with TPMS sensors.

If commercially available wheels are used, Kia dealer approved TPMS sensors must be used.

If the vehicle is not equipped with a TPMS sensor, or the TPMS system is not working properly, the vehicle may not pass the required technical inspection.

All vehicles sold on the EUROPEAN market during the time period below must be equipped with TPMS.
