The car body can be either with an awning roof or without it. Maximum allowable weight, which can carry Cargo - 1500 kg, although according to the passport this value is only 800 kg. If the body has a roof, then the amount of free space will be as much as 6250 liters.

The multimedia steering wheel was not presented, but even without it it looks quite stylish, which only improves the interior. The instrument panel is also as modest as possible. It consists of two small round elements that display data on the speed of the car and engine speed. There was a place between them and for on-board computer.

The car is distinguished by more or less comfortable seats, trimmed with fabric or leather, depending on the configuration. Of course, on long trips they will not provide a large number of amenities, but they are quite capable of providing comfort on our country roads. Of the additional equipment, it is worth noting heating and electronic adjustments, as well as quite good lateral support. The second row, respectively, the car does not have.

The rear of the car is made in the form of a chassis, which is quite convenient, because if desired, any buyer can then install even a van here. Although according to the passport the maximum carrying capacity of the car is only 800 kilograms, the suspension, thanks to an additional leaf spring, is able to withstand a load of up to one and a half tons.

Unlike the Patriot, UAZ Cargo 2018 comes only with the familiar petrol unit, the working volume of which is 2.7 liters. To issue such a unit will be 135 Horse power.

The standard set of options for UAZ Cargo 2018 will not be able to provide the driver and passenger with comfortable movement even on a flat road. Of the equipment here, you can only find a stove, a cigarette lighter, cheap plastic and fabric trim, manual adjustments and power windows, simple multimedia, air conditioning and two airbags on the front of the car. A more charged version of the configuration looks much more attractive. There is already a climate system and seat heating, as well as their richer finishes, electric lifts for both windows, anti-lock braking system with stabilization, seat and mirror adjustment using actuators, good multimedia and various security systems. Meeting the wishes of the market and its “customer core” (which is located in the villages), the designers of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2008 launched the mass production of the UAZ Cargo pickup truck (factory code UAZ-23602-050), created on the basis of the UAZ Patriot (code UAZ- 3163).

It is worth noting the long process of the birth of this “off-road truck”: For about five years it was literally “sawed out” by selecting components, making them a car capable of satisfying the buyer ... Under the Simbir project, modern equipment was installed at the assembly plant, but the project was “successfully abandoned "... However, this equipment later came in handy just for the UAZ Patriot and UAZ Cargo projects ... By the way, rural drivers, sharp on words, expanded a number of names to Patrick and Patap (but associations about the word "Cargo" have not yet been noticed).

As a result of long-term research, it was decided to focus on the most objective simple version: the chassis of the "Patriot" was stretched to 3000 mm, they put a cropped cab on it (after all, everything has already been debugged in its production) and a platform with a wooden floor and metal sides from the "farmer" was attached to the back. And it was this simple and logical option that worked - the truck turned out to be a success ... and, taking advantage of stable demand, it was updated “synchronously” with the base model.

Whatever skeptics say, according to one of the owners of UAZ Cargo, “before discussing it, one would have to drive this car.” He says this after having covered 150,000 km, when, after prolonged rains, he got out more than once with a couple of carcasses of two-year-old bulls from a country road ... By the way, by inserting an extra sheet into the spring and putting on truck tires, this harvester calmly transports one and a half tons (according to technical passport carrying capacity of "Cargo" - 800 kg) ... According to many drivers, it is also pleasing that (relative to the popular "loaves") an "extra meter of life" has been added to UAZ Cargo - from the bumper to the driver.

From a technical point of view, UAZ Cargo is a typical example of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. It is a two-door, two-seat truck-chassis with a permanent rear wheel drive and hard-wired front.

The cabin from the "Patriot" in the most natural way differs from the budget cabin "loaves".

What's more, the front suspension with Elastogran components (manufactured by a division of BASF) ensures high driving comfort on rural roads. Drivers are surprised at the feeling of permissiveness that Cargo inspires - they do not slow down even in front of deep pits.

The appearance of the cabin is replete with smooth lines. The cabin meets the expectations of rural drivers and even exceeds them. Overview, optics, side mirrors, bumper - when meeting at a traffic light, all this creates the impression of a meeting with an imported SUV.
And the metallic coloring, as well as the overlays and shields, enhance the favorable impression.

As already noted, the UAZ Cargo 23602 car can be supplied in the form of a chassis (only with taillights) - this option is convenient for the subsequent installation of various superstructures (the most popular are manufactured goods and isothermal vans, although you can find other options specially adapted to the needs of the owners ).
And also - an onboard cargo platform (it is supplied both in a "pure form" and equipped with an awning). The luggage space under the awning is 6250 liters and allows you to transport bulky structures.

In some cases, the internal comfort of UAZ Cargo is even excessive for the conditions in which these trucks are operated. Everything is beautiful, but cheap plastic betrays itself.

In continuation of the conversation about the technical characteristics of the UAZ Cargo 23602 - the truck is equipped with gasoline engine ZMZ-40906. A high-torque engine with a volume of 2.7 liters produces a maximum power of 135 forces. Together with a five-speed manual transmission this engine allows you to accelerate "Cargo" to a speed of 135 km / h.

Fuel consumption (AI92 gasoline) for this truck is about 14 liters "in the city" or 12 liters per 100 km of track "on a country road at a speed of 90 km / h." Volume fuel tank- 68 liters ... By the way, gas equipment can be installed as an option (cost 60 ~ 80 thousand rubles).

Long-standing talk about equipping these vehicles with a diesel engine has so far only ended with the fact that the Patriot received an Iveco F1A engine (and then “occasionally”), but not this truck. The fact is that this required the modernization of the frame (front spars), the development of a new frame engine compartment, development new system cooling system, the development of a new exhaust system… It is quite obvious that the UAZ Cargo project has not yet “accumulated funds” to carry out such serious design changes... and therefore the timing of equipping the UAZ Cargo with a diesel engine is still unknown.

All talk about the shortcomings of the truck comes down to obvious trifles. According to drivers, the disadvantages include simple factory imperfections or naturally occurring defects: all the clamps are not tightened (this happens even on foreign cars), a burst fuel line hose, a defect expansion tank and similar little things that are solved very simply.

The recommended cost of UAZ Cargo at dealers in 2017 is from ~ 767 thousand rubles “in the base” to ~ 839 thousand in the “Comfort” configuration (with air conditioning and power accessories). For this class of cars, the price is quite democratic.

In order to "break" the sad statistics of sales at UAZ, they decided to beat off part of the audience that uses GAZelles.
For this, it was announced that in 2017 it will be released new modification UAZ Cargo with a carrying capacity of one and a half tons.

Of the announced innovations: The drive is only for rear axle, which in turn changes. The cabin will be triple. Wheelbase the car will increase, the cargo platform will also lengthen.
