But although the Passat CC is devoid of frankly dead engines, the abbreviation CC stands for Comfort Coupe. Stupid name, but no more than all these "sports". Comfort - that's what not only Americans will appreciate. The Passat CC has a softer suspension and smoother habits. Including due to the new power steering, similar to what is put on Tiguan crossover. On my test, I have a car with a 200-horsepower engine, a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.

Well, it really has become smoother, although you still can’t name the soft suspension. But even on 18-inch wheels (and they are not the limit!) Passat CC smooths out road bumps well, while almost not swaying on the waves.

Describing the handling of another Volkswagen is an unbearable task! Not because she's bad. If so, wit could be practiced on every test. But no: Polo, Golf, Passat - they are all about equally good. Light, but sensitive steering, smooth, but unsurpassedly accurate reactions. Turning the steering wheel once again is a pleasure.

Passat CC is well suited for long-range throws: quiet, comfortable, does not sway and spits on most bumps. Unless he could have reacted more calmly to the ruts.

And it provides very decent dynamics - up to a hundred Passat CC accelerates in less than 8 seconds. And the brakes - not a single complaint.

But be that as it may, the car shows a high class. The trick to turn an ordinary Passat into a more expensive car was a success! The CC looks great, feels more expensive, and rides nobler. What else is needed? Maybe another name?

A 200-horsepower turbo engine is the optimum for the Passat. IN sport mode the box does not irritate with thoughtfulness, but a smooth ride even in lever position B is given with little difficulty.

Everyone knows what troubles the mustachioed captain, who liked to say about the correlation between the name of a sailing ship and its seaworthiness, ran into. A couple of letters also fell off the stern of the Passat CC model - only the Passat inscription remained on the trunk lid. And the downstream neighbors think that this is not a niche model (although it is true, they plan to produce 300 thousand cars for the entire time), but an ordinary Passat. Just new.

Americans will soon be wrong. Most likely, in the States Passat Vulgaris will be replaced new model, larger, simple and affordable. It is she who will compete with Camry-type cars. And only the CC version will remain as a premium model.
