Review of the car Infiniti QX56 updated: August 30, 2017 by: dimajp

Origin car brand Infiniti took place against the background of the fuel crisis of the 70s. The economic recession that followed left many American and European automakers in a difficult position, unable to offer buyers something compact and efficient in terms of gas mileage.

However, the Japanese concern Nissan Motor enthusiastically undertook the implementation of a new project, and as a result of its global research and development in 1989, the world public saw the chic Infiniti Q45 business sedan, which fully justified the hopes of motorists. Extraordinary specifications Infiniti, due to the powerful V-shaped "eight" under the hood, and a stylish interior made the first car of the Infiniti brand a recognized leader in its class.

The name of the new brand was chosen with particular care: the manufacturer was faced with the task of separating in the minds of buyers the association of a simple, unpretentious car, caused by the Nissan brand, from the premium segment automaker. And with its name, which means “infinity” in translation, and the oval-shaped emblem with the top of a triangle inside, which symbolizes the road disappearing into infinity, Infiniti positions itself as a brand with a constant desire for innovation and new achievements.

With the expansion of the brand's model line, sports coupes Infiniti M30, compact sedans Infiniti G20, premium crossovers of the FX series and SUVs QX4, QX56 appear on the markets.

The true peak of Infiniti's popularity came at a time when the management Japanese company Enter Carlos Ghosn. The Infiniti design team began to work on improving the appearance of the models, resulting in the luxurious Inifiniti G35.

By 2005, the premium brand managed to enter the world stage and achieve recognition in the global car market with a short but promising history of development.

August 2010 was marked by the appearance in model range Infiniti is the first hybrid car Infiniti M35h, sales of which started in autumn of the same year in Japan. After another six months, the model entered the car markets of Europe and the USA.

At present, there are more than 200 dealer centers Infiniti. If the mass Japanese manufacturer Nissan focuses mainly on large sales volumes of its products, then its subsidiary Infiniti focuses on an individual approach to the wishes of the client, exclusivity of models, and most importantly, excellent service.

As shown by the good sales results of the last decade, many buyers are willing to pay for luxury, unrivaled performance and the highest level of service. The minimum cost of the middle class Infiniti is one and a half million rubles. The price of Infiniti in the back of a coupe, roadster or business sedan can reach up to three million. And the most expensive in the brand line is the Infiniti FX SUV, the cost of which can reach up to six million rubles.

In the next few years, the Japanese are going to introduce completely new cars to the world public. Infinity cars, among which there will be not only sedans, but also hatchbacks.

The Infiniti QX4 SUV aimed at the US market was launched in mass production in 1996. In fact, it was a second generation model, differing external design and richer equipment.

Infiniti QX4 was a real "rogue" with a large ground clearance, downshift and differential locks. The car was powered by a V6 3.3 petrol engine (168 hp), in 2001 the engine was replaced with a more powerful 3.5-liter, developing 240 forces. The transmission was automatic, four-speed.

The QX4 model was produced until 2003 in Japan, in the local market it was known as.

2nd generation (JA60), 2004–2010

The Infiniti QX56 SUV, which debuted in 2004, moved to the assembly line of Nissan's American plant in Mississippi. The car was sold in the USA, Canada, some countries of the Middle East, and in 2007 its official deliveries to Russia began.

The frame Infiniti QX56 was created on the F-Alpha platform, common with a pickup truck, and the general design of its body was the same as that of an SUV. Under the hood was Gas engine V8 with a volume of 5.6 liters and a power of 315-325 liters. with., working in tandem with a five-speed "automatic".

3rd generation (Z62), 2010–2013

The next generation of the Infiniti QX56 SUV was introduced in 2010, the production of cars was transferred from the USA to Japan. car saved frame structure but got even bigger. This time, its counterpart was the Y62 series model.

The Infiniti QX56 received an all-new 5.6-liter direct-injection eight-cylinder engine that produced 405 hp. With. The transmission was automatic, seven-speed. Chassis design feature - no stabilizers roll stability, their functions are performed by active hydraulic cylinders built into the shock absorbers.

As before, the SUV had versions with rear or all-wheel drive, but only all-wheel drive cars were delivered to Russia. The interior of the car could have seven or eight seats.

The list of markets where the Infiniti QX56 was offered has expanded: USA, Canada, Mexico, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan. In our market, an SUV could be purchased at a price of about 3.3 million rubles. In 2012, SKD assembly of cars for Russia began at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg.

In 2013, the model was renamed in due to a change in the brand index system.

Infiniti QX car engine table

The test car has a 3.7-liter gasoline engine with 333 hp. with a torque of 362 Nm. The box, of course, is automatic, seven-speed. This is more than enough to go faster than anyone. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.9 seconds, "maximum speed" - 228 km / h. On the official site Infiniti model called a "born provocateur". No, guys, this is not a provocateur. It's an instigator. It's impossible to ride on it. You start the engine - and within a radius of half a kilometer everything freezes from the evil rumble of six "pots". When fine-tuning this model, obviously special attention was paid to the sound of the exhaust: other V8s will envy the "date"! It's nice that the race for soundproofing did not deprive the driver of the opportunity to hear and feel this growl.

Pedal to the floor and... Yes. That's how it should be. Everyone saw? This is how a real “sneaker” should accelerate: powerfully, crouching on rear axle, with the corresponding soundtrack. In the seat presses notably! And this is not the most powerful version yet, by the way: there is also an eight-cylinder version with 400 hp in the model range. But this motor also works out the "grandmothers" invested in it and the liters poured into the filler neck perfectly: in any speed range, the motor is responsive, quickly "spins", willingly gives traction to all four wheels. Keeping the speed limit is almost impossible. It's good that the excess of 20 km / h in our country (yet) is not recorded by cameras! But even with this “indulgence”, the owner of the QX70 will regularly receive “letters of happiness” - only after 100 km / h the character of the car is revealed by 100%.

Model Infiniti QX80 (formerly known as QX56) is presented in an updated version. Instead of a generational change, this is the second restyling for an SUV that has been produced in the current body since 2010. The updated QX80 is assembled in Japan and at the end of 2017 appeared in the markets of the USA, the Middle East and Asia. Exterior changes refreshed appearance models.

The front end is completely new and more aggressive: a larger grille; new, higher raised headlights; the hood has become wider; the front bumper received an even larger air intake and new LED “foglights” with an elegant slim shape. The chrome frame of the radiator grille and air intake has changed, the air intakes on the wings have received a different shape. The rear part has also been modernized - there are new lights, a bumper, a chrome trim. Changed the design of the huge 22-inch rims, which the QX80 flaunts as standard. On the Russian market a new version everything is offered with the same petrol 5.6 V8 (405 hp) and a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Changes in the interior of the 2018 Infiniti QX80 are minimal. This is a new seat upholstery (with diamond stitching) and door trim, improved materials and sound insulation. In the standard Luxe version, the car is equipped with LED adaptive headlights, a new InTouch navigation system with traffic information, and a voice command function in Russian has been added. The interior of the car is trimmed with genuine leather, the driver's seat is equipped with electric adjustment in ten directions. Second-row passengers are offered the Infiniti infotainment center, with color displays built into the front seat headrests, the size of which has increased from 7 to 8 inches. The Luxe ProActive version received an enhanced security package, as well as a premium 15-speaker Bose Cabin Surround 5.1 audio installation. The highlight of the Luxe ProActive package is the Smart Rearview Mirror, which allows the driver to use it as a regular mirror or turn it into a video monitor projected from the rear video camera.

The upgraded QX80 is offered with a 5.6-liter petrol V8 in both trim levels. Nissan models VK56VD (405 hp), 7-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The engine is distinguished by direct fuel injection, a variable valve timing system on all camshafts, as well as a VVEL valve lift system and complies with Euro-5 requirements. In the urban cycle, the QX80 is content with 20.6 liters of gasoline per 100 km and 11 liters outside the city; in the combined cycle, fuel consumption is 14.5 l / 100 km. Volume fuel tank- 100 liters.

The Infiniti QX80 has an independent spring double wishbone suspension at the front and an independent, air-operated double wishbone at the rear. Pneumatic elements rear suspension maintain a constant ground clearance. According to the manufacturer, the updated QX80 received new shock absorbers with a 30% reduction in damping force for a smoother ride and to reduce vibrations on rough surfaces. The All-Mode 4WD drive system is able to calculate the required tractive effort in real time and respond instantly to changing conditions. In AUTO mode, it automatically distributes torque between the front and rear wheels for better handling and dynamic acceleration. In addition, 2WD, 4WD High and 4WD Low modes are provided. Overall dimensions are impressive: body length - 5340 mm, width - 2030 mm, height - 1925 mm. The wheelbase is 3075 mm, and 12.6 m is required for a turn. The luggage compartment has a volume of 470 liters, which, after the transformation of the cabin, increase to 2693 liters.

As standard, the 2018 Infiniti QX80 is equipped with a surround view system, an approaching object detection system, and a parking management function. The Luxe ProActive version received an expanded package of Infiniti Drive Assist safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, a lane departure warning system, a blind spot monitoring function, and a collision avoidance system while driving in reverse and other equipment.

Infiniti QX80 - typical american car, created by Japanese engineers, and at the same time perfectly suitable for Russian conditions. The downsides are usually lack of visibility, large overhangs and low-profile R22 wheels, more suitable for the highway. Before, even despite the perfectly balanced driving performance, on a country road, the QX80 chassis was notable for its noticeable rigidity. But with suspension tweaks, comfort should improve. On the plus side, experts note excellent dynamics, convenient controls, large capacity, as well as the presence of one of the most powerful V8 engines in the class. In terms of comfort the best choice there will be a seven-seat equipment with "captain's" chairs of the second row.
