Up to a certain point, Fiat was represented in the mass segment by only two models - Bravo and Linea, which were remembered by many for their lively character and stylish appearance. The Fiat Tipo was first shown to the public in 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show, while it debuted on the market in 2015. This new compact has become the new flagship of the Italian brand and has replaced two of its models at once - Bravo and Linea.
The body range of the car includes options such as a four-door sedan, a five-door hatchback, and a five-door station wagon. This allows us to conclude that the machine is aimed at a wide range of customers and is able to satisfy a variety of needs.
It should also be noted that the Fiat Tipo is a global model. It is presented in forty countries of the world, while in Turkey the manufacturer offers it under the name Aegea, and in the Mexican market the novelty is completely known as Dodge Neon.

Fiat Tipo was purchased new in a version with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and in a hatchback body. I needed a comfortable city car, and this model fully met these requirements.
In the course of operation, I was repeatedly convinced of the correctness of my choice. I liked the high maneuverability of the car, its relatively soft suspension, as well as a cozy interior. The engine also gives no reason for disappointment and pleases with good dynamics and economy.

At the moment, I drove 54,000 kilometers on the Fiat. Any serious problems was not reliable. However, at 27,000 kilometers, the interior ceiling light had to be replaced, which stopped working.
In general, the car performed well in everyday use within the city and infrequent trips on the highway. Therefore, I do not plan to change it to something else.

Fiat Tipo turned out to be very attractive in terms of exterior design. Unobtrusive aggression and grace are inherent in its appearance, which is expressed in a complex configuration of head lighting optics, a large-mesh radiator grille, a front bumper with a low splitter, as well as in expressive body lines.
In short, in any type of body, the model looks advantageous, while its geometric cross-country ability is quite sufficient, and it provides a clearance of 150 millimeters.

Inside the Fiat Tipo is cozy. The Italian model is not capable of surprising with the exquisite architecture of the dashboard, but the quality of finishing materials and assembly are high, and the color scheme of this very finish is harmonious.
In the basic version, the arrows of the analog instruments of the “instrumentation” are set at “six o’clock” in the rest position - this could be mistaken for sports paraphernalia, however, the layout of the speedometer and tachometer is standard, so this decision looks debatable.
However, the instrument panel is readable without problems due to large digitization.
Rich configuration models have a slightly different dashboard, which is recessed deep into the dashboard and framed with a silver insert. Its design is more respectable and therefore more pleasing to the eye.
There is a multimedia block on the center console, but a color screen for it is available only in top versions.
The system is capable of playing video and audio files, displaying readings from the navigation system, a picture from the rear view camera. Speaking of the display, its graphics and interface are nice, but don't expect anything special.
The driver's seat with strong lateral support is comfortable and great for active driving. It is suitable for a person of almost any build due to the extensive ranges of adjustments.
The second row sofa will take three adults of average build without problems. However, there is enough legroom only for people up to 180 centimeters tall.
Behind the wheel
The most popular engine in the Fiat Tipo lineup is naturally aspirated. power unit 1.6 liters powered by gasoline fuel. It is combined with automatic transmission and allows you to feel confident in city traffic due to sufficient traction at low, medium speeds.
Of course, the motor-box combination is absolutely not intended for driving, but the fuel efficiency of such a car is commendable and the average consumption of 6.5 liters is quite real.
The handling of the model is pleasant and predictable. The steering wheel is light, but this is offset by its high sensitivity and information content. At the same time, turns can be passed quickly thanks to neutral understeer, which provides good stability on the arc.
Comfort has not fallen victim to gambling chassis settings. Suspension with long strokes quite gently fulfills bumps, which ensures high smoothness. Although tremors and shudders still take place at the time of passage of road joints and other potholes.
Outcome: Fiat Tipo has every chance to compete the best representatives segment C. This car is extremely balanced, but it really upsets only one fact - the lack of powerful engines that would make Tipo even more attractive in terms of driving pleasure.

At the Istanbul Motor Show in May 2015, Fiat officially demonstrated to the public new sedan under the name Aegea, which is considered the successor to the once popular three-volume Linea in emerging markets. The Italians have been developing the model for three years together with the Turkish company Tofas, at whose enterprise its serial production will be organized.
The appearance of the Tipo sedan (this is how it will be called in all markets except Turkey - where it will remain Aegea) is designed in a beautiful and elegant style with smooth and airy contours and spectacular plastic body panels. But along with the purely Italian elegance, the three-volume vehicle is not without its solidity, which is created due to the “squinted” headlights, a large radiator grille and original taillights that extend onto the trunk lid at the top. Stylish embossing on the sidewalls, a few chrome elements and a sloping roofline complete the harmonious appearance of the car.
In terms of overall dimensions, the Tipo fits well into the standards of the golf class, settling halfway between classes B + and C. The length of the car is 4500 mm, height - 1480 mm, width - 1780 mm, wheelbase indicator - 2640 mm. This means that the "Italian" will have to compete with Skoda Rapid and Citroen C-Elysee.

This vehicle is based on a Small Wide platform with MacPherson struts on the front axle and a semi-independent torsion beam layout on rear axle. An electric power steering is integrated into the steering system, and ventilated disc brakes are installed on the front wheels.
In November 2015, the Tipo / Aegea sedan will appear in the showrooms of Fiat dealers in forty countries (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). The maximum torque is not impressive at all - 152 Nm. It is strange that this particular engine was chosen for the machine. With it, Fiat Tipo will accelerate to a maximum of 192 km / h, it will take 11.7 seconds to reach the first hundred, which is faster than a diesel 1.2 on the mechanics. Not bad. The consumption of such an engine varies from 4.5 to 9.5 liters of gasoline.
The top power unit can be equipped with either six-speed mechanics or a similar robot. It has the same working volume of 1.6 liters, a turbine and 120 horses in the arsenal.
