Subaru xv is the name of the engine units. Subaru XV "Especially valuable specimen"

1. Big expense oils. This is occasionally seen on FB20 prior to 2013. The problem is often coked oil scraper rings, as well as in curved defective cylinder blocks. If the block turned out to be a curve, then you will have to buy a cylinder block, this time even. You can try to decoke the rings, this will help for a short time. In the future, the replacement, with all the consequences.
In addition, in order not to kill the catalyst, you need to use good gasoline, also keep an eye on the oil level, this is important for this engine. Moreover, pour exactly the oil in the FB20 that the manufacturer recommends, if you do not want to get problems with AVCS, with cranking connecting rod bearings, with oil zhorom and premature capital. Change the oil more often than recommended every 5000-7500 km. To increase the resource of the FB20, you should not exploit it aggressively, a calm ride will significantly reduce the risk of running into trouble.

Subaru FB20 engine tuning

Chip tuning

FB20 is typical modern motor, created primarily as an economical and environmentally friendly power unit. In addition, the motor is thermally loaded, has a tendency to burn oil, so there is no need to build illusions about tuning. You can flash the control unit a little more aggressively, put the exhaust louder and get a nice Subar soundtrack. Nothing else is worth doing, especially the FB20 turbo, better buy another car.

Owner reviews

There is nothing special about it, except that it does not break down in the first hundred thousand runs. Prior to that, went to the passenger Impreza. Well, she was much better!

Thanks to ground clearance 22 mm Subaru XV can be used by residents of the snowy and flooded suburbs of the Urals. Small length, convenient to park in the garage. Well, in the snowdrifts, of course. Four-wheel drive is good if you need to slip from the road to the estate. For snow porridge in the yard - super.

Of the minuses — car rolls! The previous Impreza went like an arrow, but this one is rocking like a boat even on city pavement.

Goat. Lying police officers must be moved at walking speed, otherwise the rear axle flies into the sky. The seats are uncomfortable, you fall out on corners, more than an hour away - your back hurts.

For the route XV is not suitable at all! In winter - on an icy road at a speed of 60 it is uncontrollable. If it starts to skid, everything ... is gone.

Video reviews

The general impressions of the Subaru XV are only positive in all respects. Cars had all sorts of more than a dozen, but this one is just super. Excellent road holding, cross-country (Chernozem potholes) is also good.

Of the minuses - crickets in the area of \u200b\u200bthe A-pillars, can be eliminated by removing the speaker grids near the A-pillars and placing additional gaskets under the torpedo mounting bolts. Noise isolation is rather weak, but you can put up with this or install additional Shumkov.

I got used to the car right away, in the city everything suits me, but on the highway at 4,000 rpm. the engine starts to blunt and there is no acceleration. The interior is compact, I had to make the armrest myself, and the factory one is far away - I and the passenger can’t get it.

After Legas, there is little comfort in XV. The wind noise from the driver's side is strong, I'm trying to eliminate it. The mileage is now 12,000 km, the consumption is actually 11.5 in the city, the highway is 10 liters, and the computer in the car shows one liter less.

Yes, there is no paint on the car, just touched — it will be immediately visible.

Victor Shevelev, Subaru review XV 2.0 (150 hp) CVT 2015

“After acquiring the Subaru XV, I immediately decided with my family to run it for a long distance. In general, we went from Kaliningrad to Poland - Krakow about 700 km there and the same amount back + around the city, the gas consumption was simply pleasing.

We spent 120 liters of gasoline on the whole trip. different roads. On high-speed paid autobahns, the speed was approximately 140-150 km / h, I spent about 9 hours behind the wheel with small snacks in parking lots. Nevertheless, I did not feel fatigue in the lower back, as it was on the Citroen Xara Picasso.

Seat adjustment is made for any position and habits of the driver. A separate issue is the rear seats - there is a lot of space and a comfortable fit, with any height you can fit normally, but for five I think it's not enough.

One can say just a fairy tale about the Subaru XV engine: it works quietly, it takes trucks with a bang. Driving performance I haven’t been able to test it on bad roads yet, so I can’t say anything about all-wheel drive yet. But I am completely satisfied with the car, although in fact the trunk is small.

I took XV for everyday use, it’s convenient to park in the city, and outside the city I’m not afraid to sit in the mud, as it pulls out without straining. In winter, I was delighted with the constant all-wheel drive.

The car does not skid on ice, not even on studded tires. Snowdrifts of 0.5 meters move easily. Well, the main thing is still safety, and XV is considered the safest crossover.

Review of Subaru XV 2.0 (150 hp) CVT 2015

Interesting suspension work when driving at high speed.

Handling like a sedan (no exaggeration).

Good dynamics up to 100-110 km / h, especially when starting off.

The 2016 version has excellent sound insulation.

Convenient full-time multimedia Starlink (finally, the Japanese have done something really worthwhile). There are no problems with playback via cable, bluetooth and flash drive, it remembers and continues to play after turning on the car.

Consumption in urban mode 11.2 l / 100 km.

Comfortable and properly working climate control.

Paddle petals. Very handy on the track.

Four-wheel drive that is a lot of fun in the sand and in the mud. Sometimes it seems that everything, but you leave.

— CVT reverie at speeds in the range of 40-60 km/h. There is no way to quickly accelerate, so you have to predict what speed you need to keep in order to accelerate at all.

— The rear-view mirror is attached too low, with my height and comfortable placement covers the middle of the windshield.

- The suspension does not work well on small bumps at a very low speed of movement (on speed bumps, the sensation of bouncing the back).

Review of Subaru XV 2.0 (150 hp) with CVT 2016

I changed the car from Outback (there are 2 reviews on the site) to the new Subaru XV.

Outback at the age of 18 "knocked" 6 years according to the documents.

I wanted to upgrade my car.

Flours of choice (where without them), criterion: try to meet up to 2 million, while maintaining the parameters of the outback (dynamics, comfort, maneuverability, spaciousness, controllability)

The task, as usual, turned out to be difficult to accomplish, this category included: Rav 4 (2.4 l), X-triel (2.4 l), Mazda CX5, Forester (2 l), XV and actually everything (we don’t have Honda and Ford, Koreans I didn’t consider it, because I previously owned the Sorento, Elantra, Accent), the Tiguan in the right equipment didn’t get the price. For all options, I passed a test drive with my family (wife and son are tall), in order to somehow exclude subjective perception. Briefly on the options, basically what raised doubts:

1. The main leader is Rav 4, cons: simple interior and multimedia, clearance (with engine 2, 4) according to information from the manager is about 170 cm. Acceleration to 100 is declared 10s, but the engine is very noisy. Taxiing like the Koreans, the suspension is quite comfortable, but rolls. Pros The back is good + transformation, the trunk is good. apparently reliable motor and automatic. Price (according to the action) 1, 95, test drive 15 - 20 minutes, off-road was not even offered.

2. X trail: cons: design - I could not even distinguish between them in the cabin with a qashqai, my son rested his head on the ceiling from behind, multimedia is the simplest at this price. Price (per share) 2.02+ winter tires, you can keep within 1, 8, but everything is ascetic there. Test drive 40 min, off-road was not offered

3. Mazda: cons: insurance (part of the cost went on credit in all cases) 120 thousand or more! The manager in the quiet said to be careful with refueling, as the engine is very critical to fuel. Off-road qualities are similar to options 1-2. The suspension is stiff. Pros: beautiful, comfortable, good multimedia, dynamics, good taxiing. Price: 2, 0. Test drive - any amount of time.

4. Forester, briefly: - everything is great, but with a 2L engine it “does not drive” along the highway, it is normal in the city. Permeability - och. Well, the Forester's and XV's tesdrive, including, passed through such gullies (+ in autumn, everything is in the mud) that I would not stick my head in there on my own, everything is calm and confident. Suspension and steering och. good, everything is killed by a 2 liter engine (with a 2.4 liter engine, the price = outback, it makes no sense). Ergonomics and multimedia are on top. Price 1, 9 + hack 8 as a gift.

5. XV - I will describe below, the price (top without "ay site") 1, 83 + hack 8 as a gift.

Actually XV, in comparison with the Outback 2012:

What is better at XV:

Multimedia unequivocally (3 displays, one touchscreen in the form of a tablet), there is everything + a blind spot system, a good rear view camera, a system that “strangles” the engine if it is turned on reverse, and an obstacle has formed behind, apple car play, etc. (the instruction manual for multimedia is approximately equal in volume to the instructions for the car). Everything is intuitive, configurable at times, there are a lot of service functions, graphics, interface - beauty. Nothing is buggy so far.

The handling of the XV is clearly better, maybe due to a smaller base and an active thrust vector

Headlights - just fine + active cornering light + there is an automatic high beam - such a convenient feature that I would not be surprised that it will be installed everywhere. I turned on the foglights once, didn’t turn them on again, there was enough light (I often turned it on outside, although there was xenon)

Shumka is better, during a test drive, the standard question to relatives is: how fast are we going? As a rule, they answered close to the real speed, 60 was answered for XV (the real one was 110)

The suspension is very good, moderately dense, it does not break through, it feels no worse than the new Q5 (a colleague bought it not long ago)

Consumption is naturally lower, by about 2 liters on average (while running in)

The climate control is better, I set it - I forgot it, sometimes adjustment was required in out. Heated steering wheel - thing

The chair is anatomically better, although there is no lumbar support and seat memory in any configuration

There is an X-mode, on a test drive it showed itself very confidently off-road.

There is a start / stop - for an amateur, probably saves fuel (although I doubt it based on the total cost), I don’t like this function, I turn it off before the trip.

Everything in the cabin is illuminated, this was not the case

The rigidity of the body, it is felt even when driving + the trunk closes under any conditions, the out had problems with this

Equally

Dynamics is similar 10 s to 100 km/h, because the XV is lighter and the engine is with direct injection, but the XV does not have a margin of traction at speeds above 130 km/h.

Permeability is the same, the clearance is the same.

Stability on the road: about parity, but absolutely do not like the Xhaka8 tires, compared to the Continental. Very noisy, at low speed in the yards - pulls off, they seem to have weak lateral stability.

The capacity inside the cabin is almost the same (I climbed with a tape measure), any skis are included.

The quality of finishing materials, on the one hand, the XV has a very nice front panel (under stitched leather), the doors and the seat are covered with soft leather, but there is “piano lacquer” and plastic on the handles and at the bottom of the doors is more scratchy.

Speaker sound worse

It is not clear why at city speeds there is a box switch imitating an “automatic”, why? Runs scary.

No traction margin at speeds over 130 km/h

There are no air ducts in the back and the sofa does not tilt

In my opinion, visibility is worse (if you do not take into account e. Assistants) due to additional racks,

You sit below, personally I'm not very comfortable. No seat memory - very bad.

And of course the trunk (volume, transformation, niches) is getting worse, the most unpleasant feature.

I don't compare looks.

To summarize - XV -

shortened by 35 cm outback,

cheaper than the outback by 500 thousand

Stiff suspension, easy ride, that's what I want to say about the XV. Well, the handling is beyond praise. The speed is gaining powerfully and keep be healthy. The steering wheel, when you take it to a hundred at an hour, is heavy, clear. More than a hundred did not roll out strongly, it is already weaker there, but it is good - it disciplines. It stands on the track like a glove, there were no rolls in my memory in principle. The two-liter engine, I think, is optimal for this car. They say different things - that 150 horses are not enough, that he is strangled. Disagree. Before that I went to the Impreza, I will say that the XV is the same, only better. I was pleasantly surprised by the panel, everything is soft, many notice that for Subaru this is a hoo step forward. By salon. Everything is in place, no frills and special beauties, as usual, in general. But comfortable. Claims - to the assembly, the panel creaked, and the doors, but it seems that it was just unlucky. Fixed it under warranty and now everything is ok. As for consumption: it doesn’t eat oil, it stays a centimeter with a penny above the level, so I don’t know what the problem is, as they say. Gasoline - about 12-13, not embarrassing, normal. Even on the cross-country ability, I’ll say that it doesn’t allow any dances and wobbles on the sand - it rides like on an autobahn. For me, this is a great joy - often I have to ride on the sand. Of the shortcomings, I also note that the heating of the windshield in cold weather can be dull, and sitting until you get used to it, time will pass. In short, not an orthopedic driver's seat. There are no complaints from passengers, everything is comfortable for everyone. Third on back seat if you take it, you already feel it in the car, by the way. But the small one in the rear in the child seat does not react to the pits at all, we check the progress on rough roads using it. I like the rear view camera, it only actively throws mud at it. Well, I’ll say about the trunk that it’s not ice - it’s too small, at least for me. Appearance ... When they say "an amateur", I do not argue, but in my opinion, rather a non-lover - in the sense that it looks restrained and cool. Parking car I summarize.

Subaru XV Or Subaru Impreza XV- compact crossover, created on the basis of the third generation Impreza five-door hatchback. Crossover XV has been produced since 2011.

The history of the Subaru XV

XV for Subaru became a symbol of a new approach to the creation of cars. The concept of the same name was first shown in April 2011 at the Shanghai Auto Show. In the same year at the Frankfurt Motor Show was presented production model XV.

Conducted Euro NCAP tests have demonstrated the highest level of crossover safety

The new approach, according to Subaru developers, is to create a car that is equally successful both in terms of functionality and style. At the same time, the company's phenomenal developments in all-wheel drive technologies were supposed to provide the new model with near-ideal handling, which was demonstrated when the XV became available to customers.

Thanks to the original appearance, unusual colors and a successful design, the car received high marks from critics and consumers, and tests conducted by Euro NCAP demonstrated the highest level of crossover safety.

Technical features Subaru XV

At the moment, there are three modifications of the crossover - two per liter and one with a boxer two-liter diesel engine.

Of particular interest is the innovative boxer diesel engine created by Subaru.

In addition to the six-speed manual and five-speed automatic that have become standard, the XV is equipped with a Lineartronic stepless variator to reduce fuel consumption.

Subaru XV engine

On the Subaru XV are installed latest generation. The new FB series motors are based on the company's vast experience in the construction of boxer motors.

The use of new technologies has made it possible to achieve a reduction in friction in the operation of the piston group and, and an improved injection system in combination with modified intake and exhaust valves makes it possible to burn fuel with maximum efficiency. Pistons and connecting rods are cast from light alloys, which affected total weight engine. The combustion chamber has become smaller, and the compression ratio is higher. In addition, computer simulations have made it possible to achieve close-to-ideal injector placement, which also affects fuel combustion and reduces the level of harmful substances emitted into the atmosphere.

Of particular interest is the innovative boxer diesel engine created by Subaru (the modification with Boxer Diesel DOHC has not yet been delivered to Russia).

The boxer 2.0-litre turbodiesel is compact, balanced and able to provide efficient acceleration through optimized injection and powerful engine torque. low revs common to all diesel units. In addition to increased efficiency, the XV version with Boxer Diesel is currently the lowest emission crossover in its class.

Lineartronic continuously variable transmission

The application - the most "responsive" of all types of transmission - made it possible to effectively use the speed of the engine's response to pressing the gas. The use of a continuously variable transmission contributes to the constant operation of the engine in the optimal load mode.

Subaru has managed to make the usually bulky part of the gearbox light and compact.

The all-wheel drive system matches the level of innovative transmission. Thanks to the adaptive e-governance the torque distribution coefficient between the axles is constantly changing adequately to the current traffic situation. The company calls this technology Symmetrical AWD.

In a frontal collision, the force is distributed within the structure so that the passenger compartment is not deformed

The front suspension of the Subaru XV is tuned for a sporty ride and maximum handling. Independent rear suspension on dual levers works in unison with the front, increasing traction rear axle and road grip.

Pros and cons of the Subaru XV

One of the most noticeable development trends in comparison with previous models is the thoughtfulness of the car's security system. An innovation in the creation of the body was the reinforcing elements used in the design of the nose of the car. According to calculations, in a frontal collision, the impact force is distributed inside the structure so that the part of the body in which the people are located is not subjected to deformation. This principle is subject to the entire body structure.

The sides use reinforcements to reduce the degree of deformation in a side impact so that the driver's body does not move in the event of a collision. Even rear doors crossovers are equipped with two amplifiers instead of one. In the design of the entire "salon" part, sheets of metal with increased tensile strength are used.

The rear of the body, like the front, is calculated in such a way as to prevent deformation of the cabin.

There is a large amount of foamed energy-absorbing substance in it, which serves for primary shock absorption.

The driver and passenger seats are designed with the same principles in mind. Their design is such that the movement of the bodies of passengers upon impact develops in a calculated direction, which reduces the risk of serious injuries to the neck and back. The front passenger airbag has a special fold that "catches" the head and protects the neck from impact.

In addition to the front and side airbags, the XV features airbags for the knees of the driver and passenger sitting in front, as well as state-of-the-art airbags on the lap part of the rear seat belts.

Another plus of the model is the use of unusual bright colors in the coating. Colors such as Electro Yellowgreen combined with original unusual alloy wheels provide XV the attention of others.

The XV put to use all the research in the field of computer control systems, to which Subaru has attached great importance in recent years. For example, equipped with two laser sensors and stereo cameras that display an image on an LCD monitor, it can help the driver in many ways. driving situations, warning of a hazard within range.

Numbers and awards

Subaru XV received the highest rating - "5 stars" - after safety testing under the European New Car Testing Program (Euro NCAP).

Subaru XV in Russia

Model XV is officially delivered on Russian market in all versions, with the exception of the modification with a diesel engine.
