Why the Lada Priora stove does not heat well and what to do. Why does the oven not work on Lada Priora Why does the Priora stove heat poorly

Often Russian motorists who operate Lada Priora complain that the stove does not work well in the cabin vehicle cool, the side and windshields of the car freeze slightly. In order to understand why the stove on the Priore stopped working, let's consider the design of the entire heating system on cars of this modification.

Priora interior heating system

The vehicle is equipped with a stove (heating system) with a climate complex, which serves for comfort during a trip in a car. They are designed to eliminate problems in the event of a cold snap or other weather changes. No one will ask the question why the stove in Prior does not work, neither the driver nor the passengers.

The composition of the climatic complex of the car includes:

  • actual stove (heater);
  • stove fan device;
  • temperature sensor in the cabin;
  • housing part of the air distributor;
  • air lines;
  • deflectors (directing the flow of air masses).

The air flow from the stove is transmitted to the body of the air distributor, from where it is directed through the air lines. Through the air ducts, the flow rushes to the blower grilles of the windshield and side windows, to the guides for the flow of air masses in the center and side dashboard, as well as to the lower plane of the cabin to the floors on the bottom of the body. With the advent of frost, defects in the heating system appear, the most unpleasant of which is that the Lada Priora stove and other malfunctions do not work.

Malfunctions of the car heating system

In a Lada Priora car, the stove regulator does not work due to a malfunction of the multi-position switch or a defective blower fan. When eliminating this malfunction, when the Priora stove fan does not work, you should look at the fuse box, which serves as the main supplier of trouble for the operation of the ventilation device. Many defects in the car's climate system are directly related to the operation of the vehicle's cooling system.

If the fan device is serviceable, but the stove on the Priore does not heat well, then the defect should be searched for by a consistent method of cutting off the checked elements. So, the stove on the Priore does not work well and it is rather cool in the cabin:

First stage: on a motor brought to the optimum temperature, we check 2 pipes connected to the heater for temperature values. If both products are hot, then there is no circulation of air masses, and if one pipe is hot and the other is cold, then this indicates the absence of an aqueous solution circulation in the system. We carry out diagnostics of the heater tap in order to deal with the solution of the cooling system (water, antifreeze).

To this end, open the hood and move the faucet from one position to another. If there is a leak from the heating system, then it must be eliminated, because. an insufficient amount of coolant can provoke a situation where cold air blows from the Priora stove and it becomes cool in the cabin. If the tap is rusty and not adjustable, you can leave it in this position for the summer, when the heating system is not in operation. Closer to the cold it needs to be replaced.

Second phase: when the faucet is in the working position and the stove refuses to work, remove filler plug radiator tank and look for the presence of coolant liquid. In the case of the formation of the so-called. “Plugs from the air” we bring the level of the coolant to the maximum value (sometimes it happens that cold air blows from the stove in the Priore due to a lack of coolant liquid). After that turn on power plant and sharply press the accelerator pedal several times, which will provoke a coolant circuit and under its influence the water pump will squeeze out the air layer plug.

In order for the air masses to move faster to the outlet level, it is required to drive to an elevation so that the radiator is lower than the radiator of the cooling system. So, the circulation of the cooler has been restored, 2 pipes have become hot, but the stove on the Prior does not work well anyway?

Third stage: the dampers may not work, because the open lever on the instrument panel does not mean at all that the dampers have duplicated this command. Failure of the dampers may be associated with loosening of the mounts of the heater rods and taps, which blocks them in the summer mode.

It will not be redundant open bonnet check whether the shutters of the Priora stove are working or not, and also clean the heater from last year's debris and foliage. If even after these cleaning measures the system does not work well or does not function at all, the interior heater, then we go directly to the pipes.

Fourth stage: we check the temperature regime of the pipes with the stove turned on. If the fan is in working condition, two nozzles are hot, but one starts to cool after a while - it is necessary to change the water pump due to poor coolant circulation. Some motorists manage to install a small water pump under the stove radiator.

Having started testing the heating system, we bring technological process to end:

  1. The coolant level in the expansion tank must be between the "min" and "max" marks.
  2. We are testing the coolant circulation process in the expansion tank. Its absence is defined as a defect in the water pump or clogging of the cooling complex.

This completes the diagnostics of the heating system.

The car "Lada-Priora" enjoys the well-deserved love and respect of our compatriots. A good value for money, the prevalence of spare parts and excellent maintainability make it the leader in the domestic market. However, being the result of a Russian development, this car also has some drawbacks.

As you know, Priora is a deep restyling of the previous model - the 2110th. Therefore, most of the components and assemblies have moved from the "tens", including the installation of a heating and ventilation system for the cabin. Most of the main details of this system are "decimal".

Therefore, such unification is very helpful in the repair. Unfortunately, this feature goes sideways in the event of a malfunction. There are quite frequent cases when the stove on the Prior does not work. The situations are different. In one case, problems may be with the fan, in the other - with dampers, etc.

Main reasons

There may be several reasons why the stove does not work on the Priore:

  • Incorrect functioning of the thermostat.
  • Clogged radiator
  • Incorrect operation of the heater damper motor or heater motor.
  • Malfunction of the heater control unit.
  • Incorrect operation of the cabin air temperature sensor.

Preparatory stage

Troubleshooting of the heater operation should be started provided that power unit and the engine cooling system is in order to exclude their influence. To do this, you need to make sure that the antifreeze is filled in the proper amount, the engine is in good working order and is functioning normally. And after that, find out why the stove on the Prior does not work. First, check the coolant level in the expansion tank. Next, you need to start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. After that, you need to check the health of the thermostat - feel the thick hoses that go from it to the car radiator.

The top should gradually become hot. If the rubber tube is still cold, then the thermostat is defective. In this case, you can continue to work only after replacing this element. Fortunately, its cost is low.

Another reason why the engine may not warm up to operating temperature is a leaky expansion tank cap. It should keep excess pressure in the system. Often a simple replacement of this cover can completely get rid of problems.

On the "Prior", in contrast to the "tens", the organization of the cooling system is performed differently. And the formation of an air lock there is practically excluded. It can occur when the system is leaking or when antifreeze is poured into a completely empty expansion tank. It is eliminated quite simply. It is necessary to drive the front wheels on some hill on a warmed-up car and energetically turn off the gas on the spot. The cover of the expansion tank must be removed.

Heater radiator malfunctions

Another reason that the Lada Priora car does not work from deflectors) may be the accumulation of dirt in the heat exchanger. During the operation of the cooling system, deposits accumulate in the engine block itself over time, which are then carried throughout the system, including into the stove radiator. These deposits interfere with its efficient operation. The system will heat the air worse. In this case, the stove radiator can be replaced entirely. It comes out from the engine side. Before starting work, it is imperative to drain the antifreeze from the cooling system. Then dismantle the wiper leashes, the “frill” lining and move a part of the soundproofing shield. After that, disassemble the body of the stove, disconnect the wires, remove the fan motor together with the impeller and remove the heat exchanger by disconnecting the supply hoses from it.

Problems with damper gearmotor or fan motor

A common malfunction on a Lada Priora car is that the stove does not work. Doesn't blow air at all.

First, you should make sure that it works - at least cold air should blow from the deflectors. If not, then you need to check the integrity of the fuse F9.

If it is intact, then the stove fan is not working. "Priora" is equipped with a "decimal" fan. Therefore, removing it exactly repeats the procedure on the "top ten". In some cases, the fan does not spin because leaves or other foreign objects have fallen between the impeller and its housing, which can block rotation. In this case, you can hear a characteristic hum.

Cold air from the deflectors can also come out because the gearmotor that controls the damper, which blocks the flow of hot air, does not work. It is also accessible from under the hood.

Often the reason for the failure of the gearmotor is the oxidation of conductive contacts. They must be cleaned with sandpaper by disassembling the case. You should also pay attention to the strength of the air flow. Even if on top speed the air blows weakly, it may be a clogged cabin filter. It is located under the hood in the heater housing and creates additional interference.

Auxiliary resistance failure

Often there are situations when the stove switch on the Prior does not work - the motor functions only at the fourth speed or only at the first. The reason here may be additional resistance, which slows down the rotation of the stove fan.

This resistance is a block of resistors (the fourth speed is direct, without slowing down). It is located in the heater housing on the left side and fastened with two screws. This resistance is also unified with many domestic models (2110, Kalina, Chevrolet Niva).

Incorrect operation of the cabin temperature sensor

There is another reason why the stove on the Prior does not work correctly. It occurs due to a malfunction of the cabin temperature sensor. It is located in the ceiling light.

The element, by measuring the air temperature in the cabin, instructs the damper gearbox to open or close. Thus, the microclimate in the cabin is regulated. Its correctness should also be checked.

Heater control unit malfunctions

The operation of the heating system is completely dependent on it. It distributes air flows, the intensity of blowing the various areas of the cabin and the temperature regime. If it fails, the stove, of course, stops working.

There may be malfunctions of the switches ("twists"). A malfunction of the control unit should be checked last, since this unit is electronic and rarely repairable. Therefore, for verification, it is advisable to temporarily replace it with a known working one, borrowing it from a friend or in a store on bail.

Features of the heater in the "Prior" with air conditioning

A common reason why the stove (Priora with air conditioning) does not work is the failure of the speed control unit (RFV), which is located on the heater housing under the hood. It regulates the intensity of the fan motor. If it fails, the stove ceases to function at all or operates only at the fourth speed.

The cause of the malfunction is often the prolonged operation of the heater in the recirculation mode (with the air damper closed) and, as a result, its overheating. Therefore, its performance should also be checked.

Conclusion

Thus, finding the reasons why the stove on the Prior does not work is not such a difficult task. The main thing is to follow a clear sequence of actions and understand what the operation of a particular node depends on.

With the onset of cold weather, the first malfunctions of the Lada Priora heater begin to appear. The situations may be different, in one case there may be problems with the fan, in the other with dampers, etc. Today we will tell you how to properly repair the stove on Priore with your own hands.

Problems in the engine cooling system?

As practice shows, most Priora stove malfunctions occur due to SOD (engine cooling system).

In this case, the procedure is as follows:

1. We check the level of coolant (coolant) in the expansion tank so that it is between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks. If the coolant has to be topped up all the time, then the cooling system is leaking somewhere. You should carefully inspect all pipes for leaks, and also tighten the clamps. By the way, in order for warm air to enter the cabin faster, many motorists in winter specially add coolant only to the “MIN” mark. After all, the less liquid there is in the system, the faster it will heat up.

2. We check the coolant circulation in the SOD, paying attention to the expansion tank.

Video example:

If there is no antifreeze circulation, or it is not sufficient, then the pump may be faulty (it should be replaced) or the cooling system is clogged.

On a Lada Priora car, the heater is no longer just a stove. In fact, this is a complete climate control device. According to its characteristics, the Priory stove is not inferior to foreign devices of this type. But like any mechanism, the Priora stove can fail. In this article, an overview of the heater and the features of its repair.

Features of the Priora stove

The climate control of this car on some variants is designed for the installation of an air conditioner. Therefore, the device of this device in this case is slightly different than that of the VAZ-2110 heater. This article discusses the standard version of the heater. Although they have a lot in common. The composition of the stove (heater without air conditioning) "Priora" includes the following major components:

  1. Furnace body.
  2. Air duct system.
  3. The electronic unit heater control (ECU) with control console.

These are, so to speak, three basic nodes. All of them, except for the ECU, understand and are composed of various subsystems. In all fairness, the control unit, if desired, can also be disassembled. But you should not do this. This is a delicate electronic device, and only a specialist can repair it. But with the other two there are options.

Frame

After the control unit, the body of the stove is the most complex object. The fact is that it includes several elements:

  • Body consisting of two parts.
  • Blower motor with fan.
  • Small heating radiator with pipes.
  • Variable resistor.
  • air damper heater.
  • Micromotor reducer, heater damper drive.
  • Cabin filter.

Attention! Air-conditioned Priora has additional elements in the climate control, but this is a separate topic that is not covered in this article.

All of these elements sometimes fail, and it is quite possible to replace them yourself, without resorting to the services of a specialist.

Location and access

As on the VAZ 2110 model and modifications, the heater is located outside the cabin. It is located in the engine compartment. Right under the windshield. It is separated from the engine by a special cloth and cardboard partition. And on top it is closed with a plastic double casing, which hides this compartment, in which, in addition to the heater, a brake vacuum and a wiper drive are installed.

To gain access to the Priory stove, these elements must be dismantled. Disconnect coolant hoses. Unscrew the 3 fixing nuts and remove the housing. This process is repeatedly described and shown in the attached video. Therefore, it is not worth repeating it here.

Cabin filter

Most often, it is this part that fails, or develops its resource. It is simply clogged with dirt and dust. This is expressed in a decrease in the intensity of the fan. Sometimes, it becomes dirty to such an extent that the fuse of the stove burns out. The load on the electric motor grows so much that the fuse simply “knocks out”. The purifier is located at the air inlet to the heater. Near the right wing of the car. It is closed with a decorative plastic cover.

Important! Don't expect pollution. It is recommended to periodically replace the filter 2 times a year. Spring and autumn.

Stove motor

To remove and replace the electric motor of the stove, on the Priore without air conditioning, the heater has to be completely dismantled. Or at least push it forward a little. The fact is that this motor is located on top of the Priory stove and is located under the supporting part of the windshield.

heater resistor

This element serves as a kind of fan speed switch. It has several levels of resistance. Each step is a speed. Resistor failure is easy to determine. If none of the speeds except the maximum works, then in 99 cases out of 100, this is precisely the resistor. And only in 1 switch, in the control unit.

It is also on top. But it is quite easy to remove without dismantling the entire stove. It is enough to remove the connector and unscrew 1 self-tapping screw fixing resistor. And that's it.

Micromotor reducer

In the Priory climate control system, there is no option to disconnect the radiator from the car's cooling system. That is, hot liquid constantly circulates in it. The supply of cold air is provided by directing the air flow from the fan using a special damper that blocks the radiator and passes the flow past.

Moves this part special device- micromotor reducer. It is controlled by a control unit. It can also be replaced without completely removing the heater. Although it is located between vacuum booster brakes and stove body. However, its diagnosis and replacement has features that will be described in a separate topic.

Heater air damper

One of the key devices of the system, despite its simplicity. The damper moves on an axis rotated by a micromotor reducer. It is located inside the Priory stove. Therefore, for repair or replacement, of course, the stove must be dismantled.

Attention! The first samples of dampers made of plastic needed repairs. Currently, aluminum dampers are being installed on the Priors. Therefore, there is no need to repair or replace them.

However, if there is still a Priora with a plastic shutter, then the drive protrusion may break off on it. It's pretty easy to determine this. Turn on the ignition, and removing the casing separating the niche with the heater from engine compartment, observe the reducer by switching the flow temperature control handle from hot to cold. You can see that the drive rod rotates, but the temperature does not change. So, the damper needs to be changed. This procedure will be covered in a separate article.

Radiator

And the main heating unit is the stove radiator. It is located in the same right side, near the damper actuator. Naturally, to replace it, the Priora stove will have to be removed. It is attached to the body with three screws. And after removing the heater, it is already easy to pull it out by unscrewing these screws. Clean the radiator seat and install a new one in place. This part is made of plastic and aluminum and cannot be repaired. Replacement only.

Important! When replacing the radiator, be sure to use a special adhesive sponge, it is glued to the sides and the end side of the radiator. This is necessary to avoid the formation of cracks from impacts on the body of the stove.

Determining the flow of the radiator is quite simple. Although on these heaters, the coolant does not enter the passenger compartment when it leaks from the radiator, but when it appears, at any position of the evaporation damper, the evaporation instantly falls on windshield. They form a clearly visible cloudy film with a sharp smell of antifreeze. it a clear signal to replace the heater core.

Electronic heater control unit

This is a mini-computer with its own program. The convenience is that it is initially connected to the channel computer diagnostics. Therefore, many malfunctions can be detected by connecting diagnostics to the Priors diagnostic connector. But this interesting topic will be described in a separate article.

Useful video on the topic "Removing the stove" Priors ":

If in a car (Priora is of most interest to us at this moment), then this situation causes a lot of inconvenience to the driver and passengers. In the summer, this problem is irrelevant, because no one is particularly worried about the condition of the heater. And only with the onset of cold weather, the vast majority of motorists are puzzled by the problem of a non-working heating system.

Possible causes of cold air supply

A common situation is when cold air blows from the Priora stove, there may be more than one reason for this. It is in the definition of a malfunction that lies the main problem. There may be several reasons why the stove on Priore does not blow:

  1. Failure of the engine cooling system is the most common problem. This is where the diagnosis should begin. In most cases, the Priore stove does not turn on for this very reason.
  2. Strongly, which should be replaced with a new one. This procedure should be performed every six months, without waiting for the moment when the stove starts blowing cold air.
  3. The stove on Priora blows badly, possibly due to a damper, which may be in a jammed state. It may not open fully, thus blocking the path to hot air flows.
  4. And also the problem may lie in the gearmotor. It needs to be checked to see if it works.
  5. If the stove on Priore does not work as you would like, then you should pay attention to the control unit.
  6. The temperature sensor can also have a negative effect on the performance of the heating system. To determine this moment, you will need to turn off the sensor and see how the heater will behave.

We carry out comprehensive diagnostics

Not so easy. Even experienced motorists cannot cope with this task quickly. In order not to do such a large amount of work in vain, it is better to first diagnose the heating system. You need to act as follows:

  1. We probe the channels through which the coolant enters the heater. They should be warm when the stove is on. In addition, when pressing on the main rubber hoses, resistance should be felt. If resistance is not felt, we can talk about a pump pump malfunction. This mechanism is responsible for creating the pressure of fluid flows necessary for normal operation heater.
  2. A little secret, perhaps, will be useful to the owners of Lada Priora: does the stove blow cold air for a long time and does not warm up as quickly as we would like? Then you can try to fill the coolant to the bottom mark in the tank. In this case, the liquid will warm up faster. If you practice this method, you will need to constantly check the coolant level.
  3. If working, then we can talk about a problem in the bearing, which is located on the electric fan. This situation cannot be ignored, since in the future the fan may jam and the repair will gain a much larger scale.
  4. Oven not working? Perhaps the problem lies in the F9 fuse with a rating of 25 A. Its function is to protect the power electrical lines of the heater. A blown fuse must be replaced. If such a situation occurs with enviable constancy, then it is necessary to check all electrical circuits heater, insulation of the windings on the fan and the presence of an overload of the power circuit.

No heating at idle

This issue is not in vain submitted for separate consideration, since it worries many motorists and the solution to the problem can be much more difficult than one might expect. So, you have a Priora, the stove does not heat on idling, although the passenger compartment is heated normally when the vehicle is in motion. There are also several possible reasons for this:

  1. Insufficient coolant level.
  2. Leaks that lead to a decrease in the level of antifreeze.
  3. Availability .

If the first two problems can be easily diagnosed and eliminated, then the situation with an air lock is much more complicated. If you have ruled out the first two reasons and the Priora stove still does not heat up at idle, you need to eliminate air lock. You need to act as follows:

  1. We dismantle the screen from the engine.
  2. We lower the clamp, after which it is necessary to remove the throttle assembly heating tube. We choose any of the two.
  3. On the expansion tank, unscrew the cap. We place a clean rag on the neck and start blowing into the expansion tank. The air supply must be carried out until coolant begins to pour out of the tube, which was previously removed.
  4. We immediately put a tube on the fitting and carefully tighten the clamp.
  5. Installing the screen.

If the option of blowing the tank does not suit you, then you can go the other way. We warm up the engine so that the pressure in the heating system increases. After a while, we turn off the car and remove the hose from the heating of the throttle assembly. In this case, the cap from the tank does not need to be removed. As a result of high pressure, coolant will be forced out through the tube. It remains to place the tube on the fitting and tighten the clamp.

Now the Priora stove should not cause difficulties, you know how to fix malfunctions, as well as diagnose and identify the source of problems. Let the heater on your car always turn on, work properly and give comfort regardless of the weather outside the window.
