How to make a car on the remote control. How to make a radio controlled car? Proper operation of a gasoline machine on a remote control

Every child wants to have a radio-controlled car. Today, such cars are quite expensive, and children quickly break them, but you should not panic in vain.

Skillful hands, imagination and improvised materials will allow you to independently make such a car out of cardboard, which will not be inferior in power and maneuverability to purchased plastic cars.
For its manufacture we need:
box cardboard,
construction knife,
pencil, ruler,
· glue,
DC motors
wires,
on/off button,
· soldering iron,
control joystick,
battery,
plastic circle, plastic straws,
rubber bands
a metal stick
plastic book cover
plastic caps from plastic bottles 6 pieces,
wooden sticks,
LEDs and Capacitors.

First stage
First, take a sheet of cardboard 9/28 cm and cut out a few details in it.
On the top left side, back about 1.5 cm from the side edge and cut out a 3/4.5 cm rectangle, do the same from below, and with right side step back about 4.5 cm from the top and cut out a 2/4.5 cm rectangle identical cut from below. Cut a strip 1/4.5 cm between these rectangles in the middle. This part will serve as the lower part of our car.

Cut out the side.
To do this, on cardboard 9/28 cm, you need to draw a view of the machine. On the left side, step back about 0.5 cm from the side edge and 1 cm from the bottom, draw a line 4 cm long, and from it tilt the line into the middle 5 cm long straight to the end of the cardboard. On the right side, draw a horizontal line from the edge just below the middle, from the edge to the middle, lifting a little up, 7.5 cm long, and from it a 5.5 cm line, leading up and tilting to the middle. Inside this piece of cardboard you can draw windows, doors and wheels. Moreover, the wheels and windows also need to be cut out, and the doors just need to be cut so that they open and close. You need to make two such parts, because they will be the sides of our car.

wheels
To make wheels, take 4 plastic bottle caps and make a hole in the middle. On a bamboo barbecue stick, glue a small plastic circle in the middle, first making a hole in it suitable for this. Now take a plastic tube like a cotton swab, measure the size on the cardboard that will be the bottom of the machine. On the right side from the lower cut out rectangle to the middle strip, cut two such segments. Then put them on a bamboo stick close to the glued circle on both sides. Then put on the bottle caps and, stepping back from the strips about 0.5 cm, glue them, and cut off the rest of the bamboo stick so that it does not peek out from under the caps.

In the middle, where the plastic circle is glued, put on an elastic band. Now glue the wheels to their place on the right side of the cardboard, the elastic should be in the middle hole. For the next two covers, you need to insert plastic tubes into the hole, glue them, and then cut off the plastic tube along the height of the cover itself. We cut off two pieces of 2.5 cm from the body of the ballpoint pen. We put them on a metal stick and bend this stick with the help of pliers. The result should be: horizontally a metal pin about 3 cm long, at an angle of 90 degrees.

Do-it-yourself tracked tank on radio control

Let's digress a little from the radio-controlled flying toys and go down to earth. Today I’ll tell you how to make a platform for tracked vehicles on R / U with my own hands for a penny. It will be possible to put a tank, excavator, bulldozer or whatever comes to your mind on the platform.
Homemade radio control is a very entertaining hobby.

materials

We will need a 2 channel transmitter, a remote control (joystick), two 9G servos, an old bicycle tube, a sheet of plastic and 8 popsicle sticks. And yes, do not forget about the Li-Pol 3.7 V 150 mAh battery.
We take glue, pieces, a knife and scissors on a shelf.

Cooking motors

Servo drives will be used as motors. It is necessary to disassemble from and cut off the limiters on the gears. We cut off the standard wires and solder 2 wires for each motor (+ and - respectively).

From plastic we cut out a plate 40 by 100 mm and two plates 20 by 100 mm. We mount servos in small plates. And with the help of glue we assemble the frame.

We also make rollers from plastic: carefully and carefully cut out 12 circles with a diameter of 20 mm and 8 circles of 30 mm each. We glue 3 small circles, and along the edges 2 large ones. So we get 4 rinks. We fasten to the frame with bolts by drilling holes in the rollers and in the frame.

caterpillars

From an old bicycle inner tube we cut out two strips 25mm long and 6mm wide. We glue each strip.
Yes, the glue will withstand, there will not be a large load on the joint.
Ice cream sticks mode into strips of 14 mm and glued longitudinally to the manufactured caterpillar.

All the most tricky stages are over. We put the tracks on the rollers. Solder the wires from the servos to the transmitter and connect the battery.

profit. Homemade is ready.
The throughput has been amazing. Then it's up to your imagination to give the base a certain appearance!

Thank you for your attention and many thanks to the author of homemade creative chanel.

MiG 29 from EPP foam radio controlled

Greetings to all fans of scale models and models on RC (that is, on the control panel). In October 2017, I bought a MIG-29 radio-controlled fighter jet from a work colleague. My colleague made this fighter himself from EPP foam (foam that bends) and carbon slats that hold the shape. In addition to the plane, he gave me spare servos with rocking chairs as a gift, as well as a 500 mAh battery. I bought it because I am a novice aircraft modeler and, like any novice aircraft modeler, I am afraid to break my first plane.
I chose this aircraft because of its material, as it is made of EPP foam. And EPP foam does not break, but bends, thereby reducing the chance of crashing my model. Since I already had a control panel and a receiver, I didn’t have to buy all this in addition.
(pictures were taken with a phone, so the quality of the pictures will not be the best)

On this, fighters, as expected, models on RC work:
- elevators,
- rudders
- electrons,
- engine
I have shown everything below.

And here are the servos themselves, so they are fixed on the wing, they set the ailerons in motion:

Naturally, what propels the aircraft is an electric motor of type 2205. On my model, the motor is on the nose, although on such models it is in the middle of the aircraft. Here's what it looks like:

On the way to the motor there is a regulator, it is responsible for the number of revolutions on the motor and therefore for the speed of the model itself. Here's what it looks like:

All this is powered by batteries, this aircraft has a 450mAh Li-Po battery. Here he is:

It is fastened with Velcro (like on shoes). This is how the battery mount on the model body looks like:

Since the model is made of EPP foam, when it will fly it will not be able to keep its shape (since EPP foam is flexible) and so that it keeps its shape and does not bend, carbon fiber slats and knitting needles are glued. Here they are in black:

Well, it seems that he told and showed everything about the plane, oh yes, he didn’t tell about the propellers, well, the propellers still need to be picked up, although a couple are lying around in stock. In addition to the aircraft itself, I also got spare parts for it. Here they are:

Below I will show them in more detail, by the way, some of them are not yet on the plane for me, but I still have to connect and configure them.
1) Screws, you ask why there are 2 screws, but because this part often breaks when an airplane crashes, and everyone has falls. Therefore, they are even sold most often in a set of several pieces.

2) Li-Po batteries. I already talked about the battery above, but I also have 2 of them, basically they are always taken in 2 pieces, since one quickly discharges. One battery is enough for 10-20 minutes of flight. I have one for 450 mAh and the other for 500 mAh.

3) Servo machines with rocking chairs. As I said above, servos drive the moving parts of the aircraft, namely:
ailerons,
elevators,
rudders

4) Receiver with plug. I’ll tell you about the stub when I talk about the control panel, and I’ll tell you about the receiver. The task of the receiver is to catch the signal from the radio remote control and transmit it to all devices. All devices are connected to it, namely: a speed controller with a motor and all servos. Here's what it looks like:

Well, I told you about the plane later, I will talk about the control panel, I will devote a whole post to it. (if I missed something, I will definitely add it). Well, to find out about the control panel, subscribe to me. And you will definitely find out!

Psychologists say that doing something interesting together brings children and parents closer together. A father for a boy is always and in everything an example. Unfortunately, fathers do not always understand what to do with their child, except for watching TV. We offer you to learn how to do This activity will appeal to both "boys": both the son and the father. In this process, the mother, most likely, will not be able to intervene. Simply because of their ignorance in the radio business.

Activity for dad and son only

Sometimes it seems that only mothers take care of raising a child, and fathers only earn money. However, the role of the father in the formation of the character of the baby, especially the son, is no less than that of the mother. It happens that a tired father has no time to play with his child in his noisy and cheerful games. However, you need to remember that there may come a time when the son simply stops looking for opportunities to communicate with dad if he constantly does not find time for this. In the end, there is a misunderstanding between dad and son, which is already quite difficult to overcome in adolescence. A ready-made kit or an independent attempt to figure out how to make a car on the control panel will help the father and child strengthen their relationship and mutual understanding.

What is the reason for the father's removal from his son? Sometimes this is a common inexperience, a kind of fear that young dads have, especially if the mother practically does not let the father near the baby.

Where can you start collaborating?

The easiest option (if you do not take into account the usual purchase of a finished model) is a machine-designer assembled according to the instructions. The kit contains all the necessary parts, you just need time and effort. A couple of evenings after work - and the radio-controlled toy is ready. And how much joy both son and dad will get when the model goes!

Another, more complex option is to invent and assemble a car from scratch. In this case, it will take more time, and the details will have to be looked for, and common work, joint work will bring more emotions.

What to choose: a copy or just a car without a brand

Some advanced craftsmen create and collect exact mini-copies of real cars. It happens like this:

  • firstly, the machine on the remote control is carefully assembled with his own hands, moreover, by family efforts;
  • secondly, the model may not be made of the same materials as the original;
  • thirdly, some minor minor details may be omitted.

Everything else, down to the engine and fuel, is done with meticulous precision. Some masters are engaged in assembling collectible models, which are exact copies of real, real cars.

On the control panel? You can collect a semi-copy, that is, a copy that resembles appearance selected original. And you can come up with a model "on a free theme", without focusing on any particular form. The size of the machine, in principle, does not matter. They also make small homemade models, jeeps or cars, and real radio-controlled mini-cars. It all depends on the desire, the allocated time and finances. Any activity that the son and father are engaged in together will strengthen the authority of the father in the eyes of the child.

What spare parts to prepare for the model to go

How to make a car on the remote control? Everything starts with a project. For work, you need to prepare not only a list of various parts and components, but also all the necessary tools. This will make the process more fun and organized. So, what you need to assemble the machine:

  • a motor (from a hair dryer, from a small fan) or a gasoline mini-engine;
  • frame;
  • body;
  • a set of rubber wheels;
  • what real cars call "shaft";
  • suspension or chassis;
  • 2 axles for mounting wheels;
  • antenna;
  • thin connecting wires;
  • rechargeable batteries to power the electric motor or gasoline (if the engine is an internal combustion engine);
  • signal receiver;
  • control panel (transmitter or radio unit).

Of the tools you will need pliers, a soldering iron, various screwdrivers and small wrenches, electrical tape, superglue, bolts, washers, nuts and other fasteners. All missing tools, parts and components are either made independently or bought in specialized stores.

How is this done and what will be the end result?

While preparing the parts according to the plan of how to make a remote control car, you may find that some of them need to be bought. The frame and body can be adapted from an old toy. Surely there are several boring or broken children's cars at home, from which you can take some of the missing parts.

The motor must be checked in advance for performance. Its power must correspond to the weight of the future little car. A weak engine will not pull a heavy model. All work can be reduced to zero. Batteries must be fresh or rechargeable. The build sequence is:

  • The frame is assembled first.
  • The motor is fixed and adjusted.
  • Batteries or accumulator are installed.
  • The next step is to fix the antenna.
  • The wheels are mounted so that they can easily rotate with the axle. If this is not done, the machine will not be able to turn, it will only drive straight: forward and backward.

It is preferable to take rubber tires, as they move better not only on the floor of the apartment, but also on open ground. If you like the process and you manage to figure out well how to make a car on the control panel, you can build several different copies, teach neighbor dads and boys and arrange mini-races over rough terrain right in the yard.

Not only children are interested in toys now. Many adults buy exact copies of cars famous brands or looking for radio-controlled models of cars. Among the proposed range of toy stores, it is not always possible to find an option that will completely suit the client. In some cases, it is much better to make a radio-controlled car model yourself, your child will appreciate your efforts. A hand-made present from improvised means is much more valuable than a bright car bought in an expensive toy store.

You can make your own radio-controlled car using our sequential algorithm. Modeling from one finished car model to another is very similar to the actions of craftsmen in a car repair shop.

To create a controlled car with your own hands, you need to have the following elements:

  • Electric motor;
  • Small car body;
  • Rugged chassis;
  • Removable wheels;
  • Mini screwdriver set;
  • Detailed instructions for accessories.

Undoubtedly, self-collection of cars on the remote control has a lot of winning advantages, namely:

  • Saving money, while you will have the model of the machine that you wanted;
  • You can choose the model you need from the proposed range of spare parts and body types;
  • You decide - to make a mini-car on a wired remote control, or use radio control, which will have to spend a large amount.

After you decide on the model, perform the following algorithm of actions:

  • We select the chassis for our model, pay attention to the quality of all the small details. No inclusions and notches on the surface of the plastic should not be visible, the front wheels should move smoothly;
  • When selecting wheels, pay special attention to models with rubber, since all-plastic models have a poor quality grip surface;
  • Approach the choice of the motor with all seriousness, since this is the main heart of the mini-car. There are 2 types of mini-motors for cars - electric and gasoline. Electric motors are affordable and easy to use, they are powered by a battery, it is very easy to give a new charge. Gasoline options have more power, but they are more expensive and require delicate care. They need special fuel. For beginners in the field of modeling toy cars, electric motors are suitable;
  • You need to decide on the type of control - wired or wireless. Wired control costs less, but the car will only move within a limited radius, while the RC model will move within range of the antenna. The radio unit is much more efficient for mini-machines;
  • Frame future car also deserves more attention. You can choose a ready-made case or make it according to your personal sketch.

After all the parts are purchased, you can start assembling.

We attach a motor and a radio unit to the chassis. We mount the antenna. Together with the accessories must go detailed instructions for the assembly of the entire machine. Setting up the motor. After everything is working properly, fix the durable body of the mini-car to the chassis. Now you can decorate the created model as you wish. Let's make a machine with a powerful motor.

Many will find the idea of building a car with a motor for their child very strange, since there are many ready-made options on store shelves. But if you are striving to show individuality and earn authority in the eyes of your child, then you can take on the assembly of a car with a motor, although this is not easy to do, but the result will justify all efforts.

The best option is to assemble radio controlled model. It will require certain skills and knowledge of small electrical engineering, because this mini-machine is a rather complex mechanism, despite its compact size. All important parts must be purchased.

We begin to study the control panel. The movement of the car, the ability to overcome obstacles, and make beautiful maneuvers directly depend on the correct assembly. Many car modellers use a three-channel pistol-type remote control, which you can assemble yourself.

You can follow a simple path - get a special designer, where the kit contains all the necessary details, their detailed diagrams and final drawings of finished models.

Motors for future RC models could be electric or internal combustion. Internal combustion engines produce gasoline or incandescent, operating on the composition of methanol, oil and nitromethane, a special gas-alcohol mixture. Approximate volumes of such engines range from 15 to 35 cm3.

Approximate volume fuel tank for such machines is 700 cm3. It provides the engine with uninterrupted operation for 45 minutes. Many petrol models have rear-wheel drive, independent suspension is mounted on them.

Today on sale there are many collapsible models designed for car modellers. Among the leading manufacturers of mini-cars, it is worth highlighting ABC, Protech, FG Modelsport (Germany), HPI, HIMOTO (USA). Them main feature is the similarity of mini-models with real prototypes. After completing the assembly, according to the attached instructions, install a charged on-board battery, a battery in the transmitter, pour a small amount of gasoline into the tank. You can safely launch your iron horse on the road.

Modeling cars on your own is an exciting hobby, especially when the result exceeds all expectations. First you need to purchase a bench model range rover, from it we will make a jeep that freely dissects off-road. We also need to take working electronics from an old jeep, we will fix it in an SUV.

We make bridges and differentials from copper pipes with a soldering iron. We attach it to the powerful wheels of an SUV. Make sure that all connections are firmly soldered. We closed the sharpening differentials with pill caps. From above, we cover the entire junction of the differential with ordinary car enamel. We put bridges on the frame and perform tie rods. Tie rods can be taken from an old disassembled machine. After installing the plastic bottom, we cut out a hole there necessary for installing the gearbox, cardan shafts. In the gearbox there is an engine from an airplane, also quite powerful. The model does not move in jerks, but smoothly, this is the most important condition for such models. Making a gearbox is quite difficult, but here you can show all your ingenuity. We fix the gearbox tightly to the bottom, we fasten the bottom to the frame. Now comes the installation of electronics, shock absorbers, battery. At the end, there is painting the body of the car, installing the main components, headlights and much more. We apply the paint in 4 layers for ordinary plastic. The author found the original photo of the car and made a mini-copy of it in a toy version. So that the model is not afraid of moisture, he covered the electronics special composition. To give the effect of antiquity, I sanded the outer surface of the car after painting. The battery in this model is enough for 25 minutes of continuous riding.

To create such simple model, we need the following list of small parts:

  • Microcircuit for a radio-controlled car;
  • Remote Control;
  • Steering element;
  • Soldering iron with solder;
  • Compact electrical device;
  • Battery with charger.

The procedure for this is as follows:

  • We assemble the lower part of the car, that is, the suspension;
  • For this purpose, a strong plastic plate is required, it will be the basis for this model;
  • A microcircuit for a radio-controlled car is attached to it, we solder a wire to it, which serves as an antenna;
  • Solder the wires from the electric motor;
  • We fix the battery wires to the correct points of the microcircuit;
  • We fix the wheels taken from a simple children's car;
  • All parts can be fixed, so long as they do not fall off during use.

We fix the steering elements, it is impossible to do this with glue alone. The front axle must be wrapped with electrical tape for a stronger fixation. We fix the battery on the microcircuit. Now the machine is ready for testing. It must definitely function. The control of such a machine is carried out using a remote control. Following this instruction, you can easily make a new machine on the control. If you want to design with your own hands, then this guide is more than ever useful. A hand-made toy pleases much more than a hand-made model.

To assemble this model, we need the following components:

  • A simple model of a machine of any production;
  • VAZ parts for opening doors, 12-volt battery;
  • Equipment for the organization of radio control;
  • Durable batteries with chargers;
  • Radiator;
  • Electronic measuring equipment;
  • A small soldering iron with solder;
  • Locksmith fixtures;
  • A piece of rubber to provide reinforcement to the bumper.

An approximate scheme for collecting a radio-controlled model is shown in the figure.

We turn to reading and collecting the scheme, to the exciting process of creating a unique mini-car. First, we collect the suspension. We take VAZ connections and gears to assemble the gearbox. The studs and housing need to be threaded to hang the gears and solenoids. We connect the gearbox to the power supply, check it, and then fix it on the machine. To effectively protect the system from overheating, we install a radiator. The plate from it can be firmly fixed with ordinary bolts. Next comes the installation of power driver chips and radio control. We completely install the body of the car. Our mini car is ready for the real test.

Do you have a radio controlled car? Do you want to make it more maneuverable, but don't know how to do it?

Do not overload the model with additional systems and unnecessary small details. Sound signals, glowing headlights are all conveniences, they look great, but the independent process of assembling a radio-controlled car has certain difficulties without it. The complication of details can adversely affect important running gear auto. The main point that you need to focus on is the creation of a high-quality suspension, ensuring reliable signal transmission.

To improve maneuverability and optimize speed parameters, fine-tuning the system during test runs is suitable. These recommendations will help you understand the business of automodelling. You can independently create a machine that will be a real copy of a large model. All the details will be similar, only your version will have everything in a mini format.

Make your son happy - make a car with him on the remote control

You can start with a simple one - to assemble a machine-designer on the remote control. First you need to come up with a project: how your car will look like, how it will move, view other details. To start immediate assembly, you need to prepare not only all the important components of the future iron horse, but also the necessary fixtures. To start an exciting joint lesson with sons, we take the following things:

  • A small motor can be borrowed from an old vein or household fan;
  • Sturdy frame;
  • Mini rubber kit;
  • Quality suspension for a small chassis;
  • 2 strong axles for fixing the wheels;
  • Wireless antenna;
  • Thin wires for connections;
  • High-quality batteries for the battery or special gasoline;
  • Assembled signal receiver;
  • An old control panel, a simple transmitter or an outdated radio unit will do.

From the devices you will need pliers, a small soldering iron, screwdrivers of various diameters.

Assembly order

During the collection process, it may turn out that some of the missing parts will have to be bought in addition or borrowed from the son's old, broken cars. After all, he will sacrifice them for the sake of a cool novelty, right?! We take the frame and body from the old samples of my son's toys. The selected motor is pre-tested for maneuverability and performance. The power of the engine should not go against the weight of the machine, because a weak motor will not pull a heavy structure. Batteries must be unused. The assembly steps are as follows:

  • First, we assemble a mini-frame;
  • Then we fix and adjust the serviceable motor;
  • We introduce batteries or a compact battery;
  • Next, the antenna is fixed;
  • The wheels are mounted so that they can turn freely, spinning along with the axle. If this condition is not met, the machine will only move forward and backward.

For the future iron horse, it is better to take rubber tires, as they perform best on open ground. If the assembly process was easy enough, you were able to understand all the intricacies of the initial auto-modeling, then you can make several samples, you can give another copy to the neighbor boy. They will arrange races on the open ground on the street.

Assembling a new unique car is an exciting process that dad and son can spend more than one evening behind. To turn it into a productive business, you can follow the following recommendations, they must be taken into account when assembling a modern toy:

  • Sketch future model, which you want to collect or use the ready-made collection instructions;
  • Get all the quality parts of the machine;
  • Additional parts can be taken from old machines or purchased new ones;
  • Before installation, carefully test the selected motor, this is the heart of the machine;
  • Don't skimp on batteries for a new model, keep them new and unused;
  • Firmly fix all the details, according to their sequence;
  • Study the schemes for creating similar machines in advance to facilitate the assembly process;
  • Choose a ready-made model or come up with something of your own, unique.

Following these recommendations, you and your child can easily make the selected model of the machine. It is possible to make and collect replicas of original cars when you reach a certain skill level. Putting together a typewriter in the family circle - that's the best way effective organization of leisure for yourself and your child.

The machine, assembled with your own hands, will be a valuable present for your children, because real paternal feelings are invested in it. When assembled, the model will drive in the chosen direction and be easy to maneuver. You can learn how to make a simple version of the machine by following the recommendations from the proposed video. Start your journey in the world of car modeling!

I can’t stand unfinished projects, so I didn’t post a single photo of this model until it was fully built. Finally, my skill crossed with my aspirations. The model was built half a year. Well, let me tell you how and what I came to.
I think many people remember an article about a homemade truggie from Sergey Erastov from Saratov (),
and so it was this article that spurred me on the construction of this model.

Before that, I was building a model of something in the likeness of a monster with rear wheel drive.

The quality left much to be desired, so I decided to find a good example of a homemade car model on the Internet. Came across either unfinished, or constructions from purchased parts, or such models, to which I was like walking to the moon, and the former are dozens of times more. I won’t say that I have been sitting idle all this time, I just didn’t do anything particularly interesting, let’s say, I improved my skills. But then I came across an article by Sergey, his easy approach to business struck me, simple plastic parts, fairly accurate assembly, except that the branded gearbox confused me a little, well, in principle, it’s understandable, it’s more than difficult to make a differential yourself. And I thought, monsters are no longer for me, we need to build something like a truggie, Sergey has already expressed its advantages. In general, I began to develop. It was decided to raise the bar, I decided to make all-wheel drive without using branded gearboxes, I refused differentials, because I had bitter experience in building them, the last design shattered into pieces when testing the model, although it worked flawlessly at low speeds. I learned how to make cardans, for this special thanks to the self-made laboratory! The first telescopic drives were criticized by my friend, referring to their fragility, so I made more powerful ones from stainless steel (all cardans are made of tube, the first 4x6 mm, the second 4x8 mm). If the cross in the first version consisted of millimeter pins, then in the second version there were 1.5 mm pins. I made telescopic cardans to compensate for the beating, and the geometry of the suspension did not allow them to be of constant length.

At first I tried to do four-wheel drive on my old model, in the end, there is already a foundation ... But in the end, only a couple of pins remained from the old model, and I consider this approach to be correct, in order to make a model you need brains and materials, and not finished parts, all these factory nodes only interfere with building the structure to which you If you want to come, you always have to adapt to what you have, so the fewer details you have, the easier it is to develop a design.
A CNC machine appeared in our aircraft modeling club, so it became a little easier for me in terms of manufacturing accurate parts, but only gearbox parts and several bushings made of plywood 3 mm and 10 mm thick were made on this machine for the model. For the model, I developed a universal gearbox that could work from different motors, from the 280th type to the 400th, motors could be installed in pairs of the same type naturally.
If front axle was with independent suspension, then from behind I thought that the dependent would also come down, maybe in vain, but this cannot be changed. From the gearbox to the bridges, the rotation was transmitted through tubes with slots for the pins, this design worked approximately like CV joints on branded models, only instead of a ball, a rubber gasket centered the tube, and I must say that it worked really well, at small angles (up to about 20 degrees) movement transferred without problems.

I installed a 380 type brushless motor, I fixed the equipment and battery on the "second floor", it was time for testing.

AND
here is the first exit, at first everything was fine, the car tore sharply and overcame bumps in the yard, but in less than a minute something began to slip, and the car stopped. The design was summed up by plastic bevel gears, which I did not expect from them. No universal joints, no aluminum tubes, no plywood gearbox, namely gears. I was in despair, because I couldn’t replace them with anything better, they didn’t break, their teeth didn’t wear off, they just slipped, no matter how hard I pressed them. I had already abandoned all-wheel drive, fixed the gearbox on rear axle and rode like this, but the benefit came to me Tamiya chain transmission. It was a prefabricated plastic chain and a few sprockets, I ordered this set to try, but it turned out to be useful to me sooner than I expected.
I remade the bridges for a chain drive, left the gearbox on the rear axle, hoping that if the four-wheel drive flies, at least the rear one will remain. The model was tested, it turned out to be very frisky, the absence of differentials, as it seemed to me, did not greatly affect the handling. I took over the hull.
The case is glued out of PVC with a thickness of 2 mm and 5 mm, I did not bother much with the shape and built something like a brick, because if it shatters during testing, it will at least not be so pitiful, but the first anti wing I got a very complex shape. Well, of course, a curly anti-wing shattered during the tests, so I simplified it.
Well, in the end, the model drives fast off-road, looks quite good in my opinion, in general, everything that I wanted.

And here is a photo of my model next to a friend’s model, by the way, it is also self-made with front-wheel drive

Here is a photo of the insides:

Yes, there were many breakdowns, but I learned a lot from them:
1) It is better to use only spur gears.
2) A fixed position of all gears is always better than an adjustable one.
3) Plastic gears are best fixed through an intermediate metal part.
4) Four-wheel drive still not a panacea, you can ride well without it.
5) Scale 1/16 is not convenient for building or for rides, it is better to build 1/10 right away.

Have I been successful? In the construction of the model, yes, she drives, even not bad. But to repeat this design I will not advise anyone, everything is painfully difficult here, but the reason simple - drawing was done almost in parallel with the model, and action should never be ahead of thought. My task for the future is to design a chassis for competition.
I have been involved in aircraft modeling since early childhood, but I am not indifferent to car models either. Unfortunately, I grew up in a generation where surprise is not branded car models, but homemade ones. With the advent of mass toy and sports branded car models, homemade devices gradually left the track, now the car model is what is in the window specialized store… This does not suit me in any way. Understand, I’m not against purchased models, I myself have them, let them be, not everyone builds homemade ones, I just don’t like that purchased models are completely forced out of the track homemade designs, and after all, initially car modeling was a sport of skillful guys who were not afraid to build complex and reliable structures.

I must say that the modern market for radio-controlled cars today is overabundant, but it is filled with models, usually made in China, although among them you will find a product for almost every taste. However, there are always craftsmen who are not satisfied with the current proposals or they believe that a radio-controlled car, assembled with their own hands, will always be better than even good conveyor copies. It is for beginner craftsmen that our article today is written. Let's start with necessary tools, and then we will describe the workflow and give some useful tips.

How to build a radio-controlled car: tools

So we need the following:

  • model of any car, even the simplest one, any production - even Chinese, even domestic, American or European;
  • VAZ door opening solenoids, 12-volt battery;
  • radio control equipment - AGC (not to be confused with Automatic Gain Control, since the abbreviation is the same);
  • batteries with chargers;
  • radiator;
  • electronic measuring equipment;
  • soldering iron with solder and metalwork tool;
  • a piece of rubber (needed to reinforce the bumper).

Scheme of a radio-controlled car

Well, now let's move on to the scheme, that is, to the process of creating a high-quality model of a RC machine. To begin with, we assemble the suspension - for this we need a basic model and a 12 V battery. It will look something like this:

Now we take VAZ solenoids and plastic gears and assemble the gearbox. We cut the threads on the studs and the body so that the gears and solenoids can be hung. Everything should look like this:

Now we connect the gearbox to the power supply and check, after which we install the gearbox in the car if it passed the test. We install a radiator in order to protect the circuit from overheating. The radiator plate, by the way, can be very securely fastened with bolts. After that, we install the power driver and radio control chips. You can see them well in this photo:

Well, then we completely assemble the body of our car. After that, you can proceed to the test runs of the car. And now a few tips.

So, you have a radio-controlled car, how to make it agile and reliable? First, do not overload the model with unnecessary details and systems. Sound signals, glowing headlights, opening doors - all this, of course, is good and beautiful, but the creation of a radio-controlled car is already quite a difficult process, and its even greater complication can negatively affect the basic "driving" qualities of your model. Therefore, the main thing to concentrate on is to make a good suspension and ensure reliable signal transmission. Well, in improving maneuverability and optimizing speed characteristics, fine-tuning systems during test runs will help you. As for specific schemes, it is simply not possible to describe even a hundredth of them in this article, so I refer you to
