The process for replacing injectors is the same for all vehicles. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare new hoses through which the “washer” will pass. For these purposes, a tube that is used for aquariums is well suited.

After that, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Remove the upholstery and gently pull out the plastic clips.
  2. Remove buffer foam pads. Usually they are held on with tape, so you need to prepare some fresh adhesive tape to install them back.
  3. Detach the covers on the plastic parts.
  4. Remove the hoses through which the fluid is supplied.
  5. Remove old injectors.
  6. Connect the pipe to the new jets.
  7. Connect the non-return valve to the nozzles of the jets and pipes.
  8. Check system operation.

When replacing standard nozzles, it is also necessary to purchase a check valve that will not allow the liquid to “roll back”, due to which the wipers often start working long before the cleaning compound appears on the glass.

Sometimes new washer nozzles do not work as expected (fluid is pouring too high or vice versa, with a shift to the side, etc.) and in this case, additional adjustment of parts may be required.

How to adjust washer jets

Adjusting the injectors does not require specialized equipment or special skills. All you need is a regular needle or pin. In order to figure out how to adjust the windshield washer nozzles, it is enough to understand that they are spherical in shape and spin freely inside the plastic housing. So just:

  • Feel free to insert the pin into the nozzle and begin to turn it in the direction you need.
  • If the liquid hits the glass too low, then turn the pin up.
  • If the jet hits very hard, this can also be corrected with a needle.
  • On foreign cars, nozzles have 3 jets, which are best adjusted differently. The extreme ones should be at the lowest points, as they hit the sides of the car. Medium jets are best directed to the central part of the windshield, and the remaining central jets are best directed to the top of the glass.

You can also clean the washer jets yourself with your own hands.

How to clean washer nozzles

If the jets started to work incorrectly, then most often the problem can be solved by cleaning these elements from contamination. Before cleaning the windshield washer nozzles, prepare:

  • pin or sewing needle;
  • compressor;
  • large syringe;
  • soap and water.

Before work, it is recommended to check the level of cleaning fluid in the tank, as the jets may not work due to the missing "washer". After that, you need to disconnect the washer nozzles from the hoses and slightly press on them until they rise.

  1. Wash each nozzle in soapy water.
  2. Connect the compressor, turn on the blow and process the jet under strong pressure.
  3. If there is no compressor at hand, you can use a syringe into which you need to draw water.
  4. Clean the holes with a regular needle or pin.
  5. Insert the syringe into the nozzle and start flushing.

Of course, the compressor will be much more efficient, but if the nozzles are very clogged and do not let liquid in, then with the help of improvised means you can at least temporarily solve the problem.

Another way is to leave the jets overnight in a soapy solution, and in the morning try to reuse the syringe or compressor. This will be useful in case of particularly strong old pollution.

When installing universal headlight washer jets or windshield jets, try to set them up so that they spray liquid onto the glass surface without going beyond it. When choosing fan jets, try to give preference to those models that were designed specifically for your car, this will save you time on mounting elements.
