The situation is similar with active radiator shutters, which will also be absent from the configuration for the first time.

The Russian version of the CR-V 2017 will differ from the American one with modified foglights, reflectors and a radiator grille. Also, due to low demand, our crossovers will lack adaptive air conditioning, lane keeping and automatic braking functions.

How about drive and transmission?

With the new generation of the CR-V, Honda decided to ditch the front-wheel drive, manual transmission and standard automatic. The crossover will be produced in one version - all-wheel drive with a CVT robot, which migrated to the CR-V 2017 from the maximum version of 2.4 liters last year. We have not heard any negative feedback about the variator from real owners, it has proven itself well.

Will the price rise?

Yes, and significantly. The advertisement said about a price of one and a half million, but this is extremely implausible. Prices for the 2017 CR-V are likely to start at $1.8 million, which is comparable to the current price of the 2016 2.4L CR-V, and since the new product has better equipment and larger dimensions, it will obviously not be cheaper.

Nevertheless, Honda representatives promise to make every effort to maintain the starting price throughout the year, while according to their estimates, all CR-V competitors - Rav4, X-Trail, Sportage in 2017 will rise in price significantly.

I liked the size - large and compact. Salon - beige leather, panel made of solid plastic with pseudo-stitching. Plus there are inserts made of plastic under the tree. Power seats are comfortable. There is a heated front and rear seats and steering wheel — fries decently.

Goes fast. The speed is picking up very clearly, I'm waiting for fines, because you forget that it's not on a deserted road, but in a city where there are cameras on every pole. The review is good, you feel the car like your clothes - parking sensors and a rear camera are everywhere. There are a lot of places in the back. The trunk is a farmer's dream.

Light is the bomb. LEDs all around, and the optics themselves are at their best - comfortable, clear, you and others can see that the new CR-V is driving. Spoken for two weeks and covered 1,500 km, but the opinion has already developed. The CR-V has become bigger, with a lot of cut lines, more adult-aggressive design. Of course, design is a matter of taste and arguing about it is stupid. For my taste, the new CR-V in terms of design is the most successful of all generations. Of the minuses, I can see that the American build quality is different from the Japanese one. Body parts are not so precisely fitted, there are quite large gaps, and more on one side than on the other.

The suspension is quite comfortable, and not at the expense of handling. The car holds the road well, the steering wheel is perfectly tuned. Noises and vibrations are not transmitted to the cabin. The feeling that the body has become much tougher.

There are no complaints about the salon. Beautiful panel, soft plastic with various inserts; everything looks beautiful and pleasant to the touch. The seats deserve a special compliment: quite soft leather, good lateral support, beautiful stitching. I have not seen such a high-quality salon in any Honda, and I had quite a few of them.

Engine and gearbox: new engine, 1.5-liter turbo with 190 hp, CVT gearbox. The main advantage of this motor is good traction. The maximum torque is held from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. The variator tries to basically keep the rpm in this range. It feels like the new CR-V has significantly improved dynamics.

Where can I buy?

Machine class, both outside and inside. Everything that was declared by the manufacturer is implemented in practice. The car has become even more spacious, comfortable in the cabin and in operation.

There is more space for passengers in the back than you want, and the trunk is a summer resident's dream. The review is excellent, the car has become higher (208 mm), and the wheels are now 235/60 R18 (there were 225 on the 4th). New discs fire. Beige leather — space, and Shumka awesome. The panel is strict, concise, with straight lines and understandable.

The 2.4 liter engine, 186 hp, grips perfectly both from 0 km/h and 100 km/h. Consumption is up to 10 liters so far, but, from experience, I will say that after a break-in, it usually drops by 1-2 liters.

The variator is not yet rated. I need time to get used to these automatic transmissions, since 9 years with my beloved manual transmission side by side, and I am still in mourning - I demand 3 pedals and a stick back to the people!

I suppose that, as in 4-ke, I will first go with the elimination of crickets that have appeared. And there is a fear that the fastening of the air duct on the front panel is unsuccessful. I'll show the engineer under warranty, you may need a replacement. Similar situations were in 4-ke, 3-4 cases in my memory, when I quickly and effectively eliminated all extraneous sounds and one of the rubber bands that had come off.

I was afraid of the variator, since before that there were honest machines, but the car rides and is very good! I was driving a new one from Moscow on a cruise no more than 90 km / h without acceleration, but I drowned it a couple of times - I look, and 150 km / h on the speedometer. You don't feel the acceleration at all! There is no hang-up at speed, and when you press the accelerator you do not feel a delay - acceleration is smooth and fast.

The quality of the assembly by the Americans, in my opinion, is worse than that of the British - the gaps are crooked, and the sealant on the seams seemed to be applied crookedly by the children (it is much more aesthetic on Largus).

Each seat is neatly stitched, the doors are equipped with elegant chrome handles, all the decorative elements look quite appropriate, including woodgrain inserts on the dash and doors. The plastic on the front panel immediately makes it clear that they did not save here. The seats on the front row are comfortable and have a wide range of adjustments, and the driver's seat has electric lumbar support. Between the chairs, two cup holders are “registered”, along with a comfortable armrest. The rear sofa is also quite comfortable and is equipped with a folding armrest with a pair of cup holders.


A tall driver sits down “by himself” without any problems - there will be plenty of free space for the knees and head behind. This is one of the few compact crossovers that can offer this much space. The three-spoke steering wheel with paddles allows you to adjust the sound of the audio system, receive hands-free calls and turn on the heated rim, the presence of which is especially important in the cold season. It may seem that there are too many buttons on the steering wheel, but in fact you quickly get used to it. The dashboard is traditionally located behind the wheel - its multifunctional LCD screen displays the readings of the on-board computer, compass, driver fatigue monitoring system and the dynamic scheme of all-wheel drive. The readability of the instrument panel does not raise any special questions.


In the safety rating of the European organization Euro NCAP, the previous generation CR-V earned 5 stars out of 5, so there is no reason to doubt that the updated model deserves the highest rating. Especially considering how much useful equipment it has - as many as 8 airbags and a lot of electronic assistants are provided, including maneuvering assistance systems (AHA) and braking (BA), as well as tire pressure monitoring (DWS), driver fatigue, movement on the lane (Lane Watch), and other "smart" assistants.
