Remote engine start Renault Duster. Hazard light connection

The French crossover Renault Duster has long completely changed the public's perception of high-end budget cars. This is the way it is, and one of the innovations of the automotive company Renault was the possibility of the so-called remote engine start, in other words, autostart, which was called Renault Start. Domestic consumers personally considered this new system to be very useful and quite interesting "trick" for the most popular model. In this article, you will learn how to start from autorun.

How autorun works on Duster

Autostart on a Renault Duster car is interesting, first of all, for its unique work.

As the manufacturer assured, direct and regular interaction with the Renault Start option, which consists of bypassing the standard immobilizer and the timer itself, can work by one of 2 methods, which is most convenient for every driver without exception.

In the 1st case, your interaction with this system is carried out directly through the interface of the built-in multifunctional, naturally installed system, which has a touch screen on Renault. When you find the corresponding item in the system menu, you can easily select several modes you need at once, which are actually responsible for regular autorun. First you need to decide by what time the car should be well warmed up and completely ready for movement. Already based on the designated time, Renault Duster will perform a regular autorun on its own.

Among other things, the driver has the opportunity to prepare the car for parking during severe and prolonged frosts, in the event that the air temperature is rapidly and critically lowered outside, and in the morning you need a car on the go, which is completely and immediately ready to drive. In this case, autostart is activated, and so the car will start cyclically every couple of hours for 10 minutes. Representatives of the automaker said that this will help increase the battery life, plus guarantee a quick start in all weather conditions.

2nd way of interacting with the novelty. Activate and deactivate the system using a special key fob. If the model is equipped with such an option, then an additional button will appear on the key fob, which is divided into several special pressing modes, and allows the owner to perform exactly the same actions as when interacting with the multimedia system interface.

The manufacturer assures that all actions can be carried out when the key is located from the signal reception point at a distance of no more than 200m from the Renault Duster. Also, there should not be any direct obstacles between the owner and the car that interfere with the reception of the radio signal. All this is described in the system manual. It is necessary to press the button and hold it for a couple of seconds, the motor will start for 10 minutes, and then it will turn itself off. You can also increase the time interval accordingly (only 2 times), and in order to achieve this, you will have to press the button again.

Another interesting feature of such a system for car owners is the absolute safety of work.

The car in this configuration is equipped with special sensors that can automatically detect an unauthorized start of a ride and instantly turn off the engine. This is a very useful feature, because if a Renault Duster with a manual transmission is left in gear by mistake, the autostart will always work instantly if for some reason the trunk lid, hood, or one of the 4 doors is open.

All FOR and AGAINST the Renault Start system

The system already familiar to us, which received the unpretentious name Renault Start, is very effective and ultra-modern, it has a huge number of advantages. In particular, this system as an option will suit owners of the diesel version of the Renault Duster, especially in the cold season. During downtime in severe and severe frosts, the fuel can thicken, and there are cases when the engine cannot be started for several hours. It brings great benefits to owners of gasoline versions of cars. For example, with a ten-minute warm-up inside the cabin, it will be warm, and the owner will not have to wait at all for the windows to thaw properly.

Unfortunately, such a perfect system also has drawbacks. For example, frequently warming up the engine at night contributes to high fuel consumption and thus will cause great damage to your financial situation. If you look from the other side, then a regular start of the engine without driving contributes to much faster wear of individual mechanisms of the power unit, and more frequent replacement of engine oil will be required. The manual won't tell you about it.

What conclusions can be drawn

So, the Renault Start system is an excellent solution for Russian drivers. You have already learned how to start the engine of your Duster from autostart. We realized that the system will turn your car into a more comfortable one. The car is always ready to drive, and in severe frosts, you will always sit in a warm cabin, and you will enjoy comfort, and get rid of the routine warming up of the engine when it is started.

This is a crossover that completely changes the idea of \u200b\u200ba budget car segment. One of the manufacturer's know-how is, which Russian buyers considered to be one of the most useful and interesting "chips" of this model.

How it works?

This system, proposed for the Duster, is interesting, first of all, by the principle of its work.

According to the manufacturer, interaction with the system, consisting of a timer and immobilizer bypass, can occur in one of two ways that are most convenient for the driver.

In the first case, interaction with the automatic start system is carried out through the interface of the standard multifunctional system, which has a touch display on Renault. Having found the corresponding menu item, you can vary several modes at once, responsible for automatic launch. First of all, you can choose by what time the car should be warmed up and ready to move: based on the specified time, Duster's "brain" will understand at what point it is necessary to start in advance.

In addition, the driver has the opportunity to prepare the Duster for parking in severe frost: if the air temperature drops to a critical level, and in the morning it is necessary to have the car at full speed and ready to move, then you can activate the mode in which the engine will be started every two hours for 10 minutes cyclically. According to the manufacturer, this will help increase battery life, as well as ensure proper starting in any weather.

The second way to interact with Renault Start is to activate and deactivate the system using the key fob. If the car is equipped with this option, then an additional button appears on the key fob, which has several pressing modes and allows you to perform almost the same actions as when working through the multimedia interface.

According to the manufacturer, all manipulations can be performed if the key is at a distance of no more than 200 meters from the car, and also if there are no direct obstacles that could interfere with the propagation of the radio signal. By pressing the button and holding it for two seconds, the engine can be started for 10 minutes, after which it will automatically turn off. At the same time, the required time interval can be increased by 2 times: for this, it will be enough to press the button on the Duster key fob again.

Another interesting feature of the Renault Start system is the complete safety of operation.

The fact is that the configuration is equipped with sensors that automatically detect an unauthorized start of movement and instantly turn off the engine. This is a particularly useful feature if the Duster is equipped with "mechanics" and is mistakenly in gear. Also, the system will work if one of the doors, the hood or trunk lid is open.

"Advantages and disadvantages"

A system as modern and efficient as Renault Start certainly has a number of advantages. Diesel owners will especially like this option in winter: when idle in severe frost, the fuel can thicken and prevent the engine from starting after a few hours of parking. However, this system will bring double benefit to owners of gasoline engines: with a 10-minute warm-up, it will already be warm in the cabin, and you won’t have to wait until the windows thaw.

Unfortunately, there are still disadvantages for such a solution for the Duster. For example, constantly warming up the engine at night will contribute to high fuel consumption and can cause a significant blow to the wallet. On the other hand, a constant start without movement will contribute to faster wear of the engine mechanisms and will require more frequent changes in engine oil.

Do you have auto start alarm for Renault Duster 2015 Standard-Key ? In order to perform remote engine warm-up or automatic engine warm-up on your Renault Duster 2015 Standard-Key, you will need the presented Fortin keyless modules.

Model since 2015 restyling

There is a CAN bus on the car, so the alarm must be installed with a CAN module, for example StarLine A93 2CAN

To connect to the CAN bus of the car, you need to connect the green CAN-HIGH wire of the CN13 connector of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN12 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) system to the CAN-HIGH wire of pin 4 of the black 40 connector S1(A BLACK) on the mounting block (see Fig. 3), and the blue wire CAN-LOW connector CN13 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN12 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) connect to the CAN-LOW wire of pin 3 of the black 40-pin connector S1 (A BLACK) of the mounting block

Hazard light connection

This vehicle's CAN bus does not have a digital bus alarm control command, so an analog connection must be provided.
To connect the alarm, connect the white wire of the auxiliary channel output No. 7 of the CN13 connector of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN12 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) system to pin 8 of the black 40-pin connector of the UCH (emergency button). signaling). Leave function 2-1 only at value 1.

Connecting the central lock

Control via CAN bus, in the presence of a standard central lock in the configuration. This option has a feature - after closing with a regular remote key fob, the alarm key fob does not open the central lock.
To ensure unlocking from the alarm key fob after closing with a standard key fob, it is necessary to connect the analog control for locking and unlocking the central lock using two external relays to the wires shown in the figure

Connecting the ignition sensor

To connect the ignition sensor, connect the green wire of connector CN5 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN4 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) to the “+ ignition” wire, for example, connect to the yellow wire of pin 5 of brown 12 -contact connector P2 (D BROWN) of the UCH mounting block. Or to the yellow wire of track 4 of the ignition switch connector.

Connecting circuits to implement automatic start

To connect autorun you need:
- connect the green wire of connector CN1 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) system to the yellow wire of terminal 4 of the ignition lock connector ("ignition 1");
- connect the white wire of the CN1 connector of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) system to the yellow wire of terminal 6 of the ignition lock connector (“accessories”);
- connect the yellow wire of the CN1 connector of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) system to the white wire of terminal 3 of the ignition switch connector ("starter") (see the general diagram and Fig. 6).

Set function 2-20 to 2.

Connecting an immobilizer crawler when implementing autorun

Scher-Khan BP-2 is used as an immobilizer crawler.
Connect the red wire (+ power) of the CN1 connector of the crawler to + 12V. Connect the black wire (ground) of the CN1 connector of the crawler to the white wire of the add. channel #1 of Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) CN5 connector.
Set functions 2-8 and 2-15 to 4.
The external antenna should be connected to the CN2 connector of the crawler and fixed firmly to the ignition switch (using adhesive tape, hot glue, etc.).

Place the ignition key board inside the Scher-Khan BP-2 crawler unit, and then discreetly install it in the car.

Interlock circuit connection

As a lock, you can use the fuel pump circuit lock (brown wire in the driver's threshold); on a diesel engine, the power supply circuit of the injection unit can be used as a lock (5A fuse F19 in the unit to the left of the instrument panel). To do this, we use an external normally-closed NC blocking relay that comes with the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) system. This NC relay with contacts 30 and 87a is installed in the break of the blocked circuit. The control minus of the relay is the blue wire of the connector CN5 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) system or CN4 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) system, this wire is connected to contact 85 of the relay. Contact 86 of the relay is connected to the wire on which “+” power appears after the ignition is turned on

Or, the injection unit circuit can be used as an interlock on a diesel engine (yellow thin wire of fuse F19 of the passenger compartment fuse box)

Installing the shock sensor

Install the shock sensor cable into the CN10 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN9 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i). The sensor must be firmly fixed. A possible installation location is shown in Figure 14. If necessary, adjust it

Connecting power and ground

Positive alarm power input - red wire of the CN3 connector of the Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) or CN2 of the Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) system through a 5A fuse (included in the alarm kit) and red / black wire of the CN1 connector of the system Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) through a 40A fuse (included in the alarm kit) are connected to the wire coming from the positive terminal of the battery. For example, power can be connected to the red wire on terminal 12 of the UCH's brown "P2" connector or on the red wire on the ignition switch.

Ground (black wire of Scher-Khan Logicar 4 (4i or 6i) CN3 or Scher-Khan Logicar 3 (3i or 5i) CN2 connector) can be used at any convenient connection point on the vehicle body. For example, ground can be connected to pin 7 (if present) of the UCH brown connector "P2" or to pin 8 of the white UCH connector "P1".
