Nissan Patrol Y62 - a lost world. Prices for new cars are for information only and are not a public offer.

The Nissan Patrol SUV is no less popular and legendary than the Toyota Land Cruiser. Patrol in its entire history has never changed its main features: angular design, strong frame, continuous bridges, powerful and unpretentious engines. This was until the next sixth generation SUV of the Y62 series was introduced.

The rookie has completely changed. In particular, the design has become more rounded, but no less interesting, and classic bridges have given way to independent suspension. The current Nissan Patrol is a new era in the history of the brand and a completely different ideology. However, the legendary car practically did not lose its unique off-road properties.

The salon will please the owner with endless space, homeliness, high level of comfort and excellent finishing materials. In the summer heat, fellow travelers will appreciate the isothermal box in the central armrest, designed to cool drinks. Access to the 6-liter "refrigerator" is organized both from the first and from the second row of seats.

Engines

For the Nissan Patrol, a 5.6-liter 8-cylinder gasoline engine is provided in two versions: VK56VD and VK56DE with a capacity of 405 (400) hp. and 317 hp respectively. A Japanese SUV with the most powerful and most advanced engine was officially supplied to the Russian market. The less powerful engine is identical to the one used in the 2009 Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 (JA60).

The stronger one is the one that was installed in the Infiniti QX56 (Z62) of the 2010 model year, and since 2014 in the Infiniti QX80 (Z62). The VK56 VD is equipped with a DIG direct fuel injection system, as well as a VVEL valve timing and lift control system. But all these tricks did not allow to significantly reduce fuel consumption. And the motor itself often provokes the owners to once again put pressure on the gas pedal. Therefore, few people have an 8-cylinder monster that consumes less than 25 liters per 100 km. Nevertheless, subject to the speed limit on the highway and driving at a constant speed without overtaking and stopping, it is quite possible to get a “fantastic” 15 liters.

Unfortunately, the magnificent power unit was not without flaws. One of them is a chain-type timing drive. Some owners encountered his ailment without even going 15,000 km, others failed only after 100,000 km, and still others even found out about the disadvantage, only approaching the 200,000 km mark. The manufacturer acknowledged the defect - a weak timing chain of the right row of cylinders. The chain is additionally loaded by the shaft of the high pressure fuel pump (TNVD), which leads to its stretching. The main symptom of the disease is a screech (like from a "grinder") after starting a cold engine, as the stretched chain begins to touch its inner sides. Some motorists, having heard enough about a possible defect, began to be more reverent about engine maintenance and more gently “play” with the gas pedal. But, as it turned out, taking care of the engine does not protect against misfortune.

Repairs are not cheap. To replace it, you will have to completely disassemble the “muzzle”, remove the entire frontal part of the engine and even dismantle the steering rack. In the official service, about 150,000 rubles will be asked for a full range of work with spare parts, in a regular service you can meet about 60-80 thousand rubles. Since 2013, a modified chain has been installed. It is worth noting that after professional repair and installation of a reinforced chain, there is no need to return to an unpleasant issue, unlike high-pressure fuel pumps.

The high pressure fuel pump, as a rule, caused problems (not without exception) closer to 100,000 km. However, individual owners have experienced its malfunction at a later run. The reason is a design and manufacturing flaw: the high-pressure fuel pump rod is destroyed.

The cost of a new pump is almost 100,000 rubles! To this it is necessary to add exactly the same list of installation work as when replacing the timing chain, as well as directly preventive replacement of the chain drive. Outcome? At least 160,000 rubles in a regular service or 200,000 rubles in an authorized one!

The following defect is of a potential nature. Russian fuel quite quickly (up to 100,000 km) disables catalysts. As a result, the engine starts to work intermittently, misfiring occurs, traction drops noticeably, and the malfunction indicator lights up. If tightened with a replacement, the catalyst may collapse, and its “remains” will fall into the engine, where it will cause irreparable damage to the cylinder walls. The cost of new catalysts is from 40,000 rubles. Many owners resort to preventive protection - they cut out catalysts without waiting for trouble, followed by the installation of flame arresters, oxygen sensor emulators and flashing the engine control unit.

The VK56VD and VK56DE motors use an electric cooling fan clutch. The clutch is controlled not by a bimetallic plate (as before), but by a solenoid valve. Some owners, after 150,000 km, encountered a malfunction of the electric clutch - it stuck, and the fan started to spin like “crazy”. Sometimes it even came to the point of self-destruction.

Valve clearances are adjusted by the selection of pushers.

Transmission

Paired with a 405-horsepower unit is a 7-speed automatic transmission RE7R01B. Unfortunately, the machine, although to a lesser extent, was also included in the list of possible unpleasant and expensive troubleshooting. Its weak point is the torque converter. Vibrations when starting off, incorrect operation of the automatic transmission and shocks will tell you about problems with it. Fortunately, repairing a torque converter will require less money than an engine: about 15,000 rubles directly for the “donut revision” and 20,000 rubles for dismantling / installation. The manufacturer, as in the case of the chain, later finalized the problem node.

The maintenance schedule does not provide for changing the oil in the automatic transmission. However, experienced mechanics recommend using common sense and still changing the working fluid at least once every 60,000 km.

One remarkable moment cannot be ignored. Many owners noted the box hanging at a speed of 140 km / h (the speed stops increasing). This happens during acceleration after a long movement at a constant speed of about 100 km / h. According to experts, this is how the algorithm for protecting the box from overheating is organized. Fortunately, this feature does not always appear.

All-wheel drive system

All Nissan Patrols are equipped with an AWD/4WD all-wheel drive system and a new ATX90A transfer case. The transmission has three basic operating modes: Auto, 4H and 4L. In the "AUTO" mode, the torque between the front (0-50%) and rear axles (0-100%) is distributed depending on road conditions - the car remains predominantly rear-wheel drive. In the "4H" mode - the torque is distributed between the axles in a ratio of 50:50 and can be used up to a speed of 100 km / h. A low gear ratio is available in the 4L mode, which is exclusively for off-road use. Switching on is only possible when the vehicle is completely stationary. If necessary, you can additionally engage the rear differential lock. Transmission units do not have characteristic problems and malfunctions.

Chassis

The Nissan Patrol Y62 was the first production vehicle to be equipped with HBCS, a hydraulic body stabilization system. Previously, the system has found its wide application and has proven itself in rally cars. It plays the role of shock absorbers and anti-roll bars. HBCS consists of 4 shock absorbers and 2 hydraulic accumulators interconnected by hydraulic lines.

The unique system is quite reliable. Only over time can the pressure in the system drop (after 150,000 km), which leads to an increase in the “mobility” of the body (clips, rolls, buildups). Correcting the situation is quite simple: it is necessary to replace the hydraulic fluid and set the working pressure in the system. In some cases, an undiagnosed source of knocking in the suspension disappeared after the pressure was adjusted, which turned out to be below the allowable one.

However, the presence of a hydraulic stabilization system complicates the process of replacing shock absorbers. Fortunately, the racks last a long time. In general, the Nissan Patrol chassis is quite hardy. The first serious interventions are required, as a rule, on a run of 150-200 thousand km.

But the steering begins to pester the owners much earlier. The reason for the complaints is knocking and play in the steering for the first 100,000 km. The source of trouble is the lower intermediate steering shaft. The cost of a new element is 15,000 rubles. Some have had to change it several times.

Body and interior

Not spared the flaws and the body. In particular, the problem of corrosion of the tailgate in the area of the chrome trim of the license plate is common. In addition, the bare metal on the chips soon begins to rust. A similar unpleasant picture can sometimes be observed on the roof. In addition, after a while, the lacquer coating from the chrome door handles will peel off.

The first owners massively faced another ailment - the incorrect operation of the glass closer. As a rule, a malfunction arose and was eliminated during the warranty period.

Among the minor flaws can be noted creaking in the cabin. Its source is the outer plastic lining at the bottom of the windshield. From time to time, the lid of the refrigerator compartment also creaks. In both cases, "gluing" helps.

Some owners note that when the system for facilitating entry / disembarkation is turned on (the seat and steering wheel move off), the settings for the initial position of the steering wheel get lost over time: the steering column drops. As a result, you have to re-set the given position.

With age, another expensive defect appeared. When operating in salty winters, the pipes of the rear circuit of the air conditioner located under the bottom rot. The cost of restoration repairs is about 50,000 rubles. The high cost is due to the peculiarities of laying the line (between the body and the frame) and the complexity of the replacement procedure.

Conclusion

Summing up, I would like to note the main thing - not all Nissan Patrol present these problems. There are quite a few owners among those who have crossed the line of 200,000 km without any hassle. In addition, "sores" are characteristic mainly for pre-styling modifications of 2010-2013. It is too early to judge how much the situation has changed after the release of the updated model, but the number of unscheduled calls has significantly decreased. Charismatic appearance, rich interior, excellent handling and incredible dynamics - these are the main trump cards of the Patrol of the new time.

Nissan Patrol 5.6

Year of issue: 2014

Engine: 5.6 (405 HP) Checkpoint: A7

In the past, I already had a Patrol, the legendary 2007 Y61 frame tractor. When it was replaced by the Y62 (in fact, instead of the best SUV in the world, they began to produce a glamorous crossover), I changed Nissan from Toyota, moved to Toyota Land Cruiser. But recently it was stolen, it's good that it was fully insured. Since I did not want to enter the same river a second time, the Land Cruiser was no longer considered. I remembered when the last row was moving off the asphalt, it was last summer, and even Kalinas were passing there, in the end I decided that I no longer needed an SUV. But the children grew up and as a result there was a need for a 7-seater car. I began to look at minivans, but they all have a third row of seats that is cramped even for children.

Accidentally drove past a Nissan dealership and saw the updated Patrol. Outwardly, I don’t like it even now, I can still forgive the loss of the frame, why was it necessary to make a “behemoth” out of a strict design, charismatic SUV. But the decisive factor for the purchase was a spacious 7-seater saloon, where even the third-row seats are quite mature and rich in basic equipment, and all this is half a million cheaper than a 7-seater Kruzak in a similar configuration. The only but, Patrol is offered only with a voracious gasoline 8-cylinder engine. But after a test drive, I could not refuse the purchase, the dynamics are impressive, this “behemoth” shoots up to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds. A little, though confused by the average fuel consumption on a test car - 28 liters per 100 km. As a result, I took a car of 2014, which was sold at a discount - 300,000 rubles. In practice, the consumption turned out to be not so great, in the city it comes out about 25 liters per 100 km, on the highway, if you do not rush, 16 - 18 liters, in active mode about 20 liters. But still, the 100-liter fuel tank empties pretty quickly.

But the comfort is beyond praise. The interior is much more modern and spacious than the Land Cruiser. The quality of materials is better. The new Patrol is very comfortable for both the driver and passengers. The second row of seats is equipped with two-stage heating, the seatbacks here are adjustable for tilt. The third row of seats folds into the floor to create a large flat area. In general, if the old Patrol was, first of all, an SUV, now it has also become a good family car. Thanks to the independent suspension of all wheels, handling has become better. At the same time, despite the loss of the frame, the Nissan Patrol retained its off-road qualities, it retained a rear differential lock, and its ground clearance is an impressive 274 mm. It seems to me that it will tear the Land Cruiser off-road, although I have not personally tested it.

Release year: 2010
Fuel consumption: 22-25

Advantages: the engine and box-dynamics are just freaky, relatively low consumption, excellent sound insulation, suspension, ground clearance, a bunch of electronic assistants
Flaws: excessively light steering, slope when laying the third row, lack of heating of the second row, navigation due to the lack of maps beyond the Urals is useless

Review:

Planned to write a review after the first MOT. Here is 15000 km. behind. Patrol took two cars instead, which he operated depending on the purpose of the trips. Passat mainly in the city, Forester to the country, nature, etc. In addition, the wife occasionally rode the Passat. She does not like to drive, and with her driving experience, according to documents for about seven years, she drives in such a way that it is just right to cling to an exclamation mark. In this situation, I decided to keep one universal and solid car. At first it was tuned to TLK200. But, having dug in the web about a younger competitor, I was not too lazy to call in the Nissan showroom, and then take a ride to a neighboring city for a test drive, since there was no test car in our showroom. With all due respect to Toyota Patrol liked more.

At the first meeting, Patrol struck me with its size; in the closed space of the showroom, it was simply huge. Subsequently, I had to get used to the dimensions. It should be noted that with impressive dimensions, visibility is not bad and four cameras help a lot. You need to get used to the synthesized top view image. Parking in places that are difficult in terms of space is not annoying. Outwardly, nothing remained of the chopped species of ancestors. Smooth transitions, however, did not deprive the car of brutality and Nissan continuity. On the roads, a big expensive car commands respect. And even though I myself now look down on everyone, I began to drive more carefully in the city.

I read somewhere that the main consumer of this machine is the rich Arab countries. This largely explains the trim. Solid leather, wooden inserts, soft panels. Noise isolation is a driver's dream, you feel like in a computer game with the sound turned off. The truth from this disappears the sense of speed and dalnyak tends to sleep. There are a lot of places, even on the third row, if desired, three of us can fit. Comfort will not be much, but you can sit down. However, there are shortcomings. Having hidden the third row, we get an inclined surface. By the way, I used the third row only when I showed my comrades a purchase, when I need it next time, I don’t even know. Having a separate climate for the second row, it does not have heated seats, it is worth noting that we do not have emirates. I don't really like the designer leather folds on the doors. On many golf-class cars, unnecessary devices are avoided, there are not even dial gauges for coolant temperature, and Patrol even has battery charging and oil pressure devices, in my opinion this is superfluous and the steering wheel is too saturated with regulators. Cruise control is interesting, which is convenient in traffic jams (although the settings are reset after a complete stop) and on an open highway. There is an alarm crossing the markings. However, in a dense stream, when the neighbors do not observe the row and play chess, it seems to me that the electronics may not understand the peculiarities of Russian driving, so I do not rely heavily on electronics.

Suspension knocked down and moderately hard. Ordinary road defects are simply invisible. The car performs well in the city and on the highway. Moreover, the emphasis is shifted precisely towards behavior on the track, which is not bad for hurricane dynamics. But the steering is too light for the track. Motnuv casually steering wheel, you can easily fly off the trajectory. Outside the asphalt, it confidently and naturally walks along the primer and gravel road, and small vibrations are not transmitted to the body and the speed can not be dropped. There are four road surface presets to choose from. Snow, stones, sand and the usual road. Depending on the mode, the operation of the box changes, but I did not understand the suspension. I haven’t had to test the capabilities of all-wheel drive in all modes yet, and most likely I won’t have to soon, I won’t get into hard-to-reach places, but it’s a pity to deliberately bully a car for 3 million.

About the 5.6L engine. at 405hp - Dynamics just a hurricane. The seven-speed gearbox runs like a Swiss watch, softly crisp and without dips. I have not had cars with at least similar power and dynamic characteristics before, so so far only delight. Consumption in the city 22-25l., on the highway without igniting about 15l. Not a little, but I assumed there would be even more in order to feed the eight-cylinder monster. In general, the cost of gasoline pales before the transport tax. But I think people who decide to have such a car make a choice consciously and are ready to spend.

good luck on the road

Nissan Patrol is a legendary Japanese SUV, the first model of which rolled off the assembly line back in 1951. Since then, the Japanese have already released six generations of this car brand, the last of which is being produced and is also successfully sold to this day.

Nissan Patrol is a car originally prepared for off-road travel. Naturally, this type of vehicle is simply obliged to be equipped with serious power units. It is not surprising that any person who decides to buy this car for himself is very concerned about one question - what is the fuel consumption of Nissan Patrol per 100 km? After all, SUVs simply cannot consume too little gasoline or diesel.

Naturally, there is official data from the manufacturer. But do they match the real fuel consumption of this model in practical operation? To get an answer to this question, you need to familiarize yourself with the information offered in this material.

Official fuel consumption figures

This part of the material will provide information for the most popular engine sizes that can be found on this car brand in our country. So, according to official information, the fuel consumption per 100 km for the Nissan Patrol is as follows:

  • 2.8 liter engine. Diesel. City - 12.1, highway - 9.37, mixed - 7.95;
  • The power unit is 3 liters. Fuel is diesel. City - 11.92, highway - 9.01, mixed - 7.35;
  • 4.2 liter engine. The fuel used is diesel fuel. City - 20.0, highway - 11.0, mixed - 12.5;
  • 4.5 liter engine. Petrol option. Consumption per 100 km in the city is 20 liters, on the highway - 12;
  • The power unit is 5.6 liters. Fuel type - gasoline. Consumption indicators: city 20.6, highway - 11.0, mixed - 14.5 liters.

Even according to official data, diesel consumption for Nissan Patrol or similar indicators for gasoline is very impressive. But are they real?

Actual fuel consumption figures for Nissan Patrol according to car owners' reviews

So, to find out the real consumption of gasoline or diesel fuel for Nissan Patrol, just go to thematic Internet resources and read the reviews of car owners.

Given the huge popularity of this car brand in our country, the number of owner reviews is off the charts. Therefore, only a part of them will be offered for review below.

Volume 2.8 liters

This option refers to power units installed on the fifth generation of the Japanese model. Power - 129 horses, maximum speed - 150 kilometers per hour.

  1. Arthur. Tambov. I have this version of the Japanese - since 2001. In my opinion, this car has one problem - the quality of the body metal, which gradually begins to rot, is not the best. In terms of consumption, I can say the following: the city is about 16, on the highway, with a worker - about a dozen.
  2. Igor. Moscow. Took back in the 99th year. By the nature of its activity, the cabin is always full of passengers and a significant load in the luggage compartment. At the same time, the efficiency of the engine is very pleasing: in the city, about 16, on the highway - no more than 10.
  3. Andrey. Naberezhnye Chelny. I have one of the latest models from the fifth generation. Some problematic one came across: the heating system does not work very correctly, there are constant squeaks in the cabin. Yes, and the consumption, in mixed mode, I think that is quite large - on average, 13-14 liters of fuel come out.
  4. Novel. Tver. I have a 2002 Nissan Patrol Y61. I took it because of the good design, capacity and technical characteristics. Over the years of operation, the car almost seriously broke down only once. The minus of the model is expensive spare parts. Consumption for this option is very good: city - 15, highway - 10 liters.
  5. Michael. Moscow. When I chose in the salon - they offered a discount. In the end, I took it. Now I do not regret - almost everything suits. Fuel consumption is also acceptable: in the summer in the city - 14-16, on the highway - 8-10. True, in winter it grows very well - about twenty liters of fuel for every hundred square meters go out on Moscow roads.

As you can see, the official and actual fuel figures for this option are the same only for the suburban mode. Actually, it was for him that this option was originally intended.

Volume 3.0 liters

A more serious diesel version of the engine for the fifth generation of the Japanese SUV. What people say about him:

  1. Maksim. Voronezh. Picked up in 2003. Fulfilled my dream - now I constantly dangle with friends either fishing or hunting. The Japanese know how to create good cars with good efficiency - on average, I get about twelve liters of fuel per hundred.
  2. Sergey. Kaluga. This car has only two drawbacks. The first is a very expensive service - parts cost fantastic money. The second is consumption: city - 17, highway - a little over 12.
  3. Askar. Moscow. Moved to this option from another Japanese — with Subaru. The advantage is clearly behind the Patrol. It happens that at one time I drive up to two thousand kilometers and do not feel very tired. It is worth noting that I get 9-10 liters on the highway, 15 liters in the city, which I also consider a good indicator.
  4. Basil. Chita. I have a car of 2007, but I took it quite recently - already used. For the year I did not find any shortcomings - the quality and comfort are at their best. A three-tonner also eats within reason - an average of 11-12 liters of diesel comes out.
  5. Alexei. Peter. I have been operating since 2008. During this time, changed only the brake discs and fenders of the bridge. All! Diesel fuel in the city spends about 16 liters, outside the city limits - a maximum of 10.

Again, an approximate match can be observed for the highway regime, but with the city there is a clear discrepancy between real and official indicators.

Volume - 4.2 liters

It is considered the basic version of the fifth generation Nissan Patrol. Power - 145 horsepower, speed limit - 155 kilometers per hour.

  1. Alexander. Moscow. When I took it, I immediately felt myself in a tank, but very comfortable and convenient. Naturally, you have to pay for this with fuel. It turns out an average of 20 liters per hundred square meters.
  2. Nikolay. Vladikavkaz. I immediately wanted to take it for myself, and not a crossover-type craft that is fashionable today. Naturally, Nissan Patrol completely satisfied me in this regard. Of course, it is sometimes difficult to move around the city, but on the highway, all the little things cling to the side of the road at the sight of my baby. Consumption on the highway - from 10 to 12, in the city - about 18.
  3. Semyon. Grozny. Initially, of course, I liked this model. Therefore, I purchased it. But, over time, I became disappointed: the plastic in the cabin is of poor quality, it is difficult to use the entire volume of the luggage compartment efficiently. Yes, and the consumption on the highway I get about 16 liters.
  4. Valery. Lipetsk. I don't know why many people say that this car is very expensive to maintain. It is necessary that the hands grow from the right place. His "baby" has already gone through to the last bolt. I know all its possibilities and small shortcomings. True, the consumption is not very good - in the city 22, on the highway about 12.
  5. Vladimir. Khimki. At one time I rode a Ford for a long time, then a Pajero, now a Nissan Patrol. The car is very comfortable and reliable, especially if you use it for trips to nature. Fuel consumption on average - 17 liters.

In principle, a well-optimized version, in which the actual diesel consumption approximately coincides with the official data on this matter.

Volume - 4.5 liters

Powerful petrol version with 200 horsepower. Allows you to accelerate the car up to 170 kilometers per hour. The real consumption of gasoline is, according to the reviews of the owners:

  1. Vladimir. Ulyanovsk. I am constantly wandering around our vast homeland. Behind the wheel of Nissan Patrol feel comfortable and safe. Naturally, such a monster under the hood eats a lot of fuel - in the average mode, about 16 liters come out.
  2. Dmitriy. Miass. Until the first winter came behind the wheel of this car, I was happy with everything. But on a bad track, Patrol keeps very badly, sometimes I even had to jump out to the side of the road to avoid collisions, although I don’t drive. Plus, the interior heating system is very poor quality. The average consumption is about 17, in the city - a stable twenty.
  3. Igor. Chrysostom. I took a model for 2004. Since then, I want to change to something better, as it already has a lot of flaws. The interior and the windshield warm up very badly, the power windows work every other time, the consumption of gasoline in the city is well over twenty, on the highway - about 14 liters.
  4. Sergey. Ufa. I've been using it for eight years now. Very reliable and high quality car. The only negative is the consumption of gasoline, but when I took it, I understood what I was getting into: the city - 21 liters, the highway - about 13.
  5. Michael. Novosibirsk. The dynamics of this car is just fantastic. Once rode and took without hesitation. True, then I had to pay for such a feature with serious expenses for fuel - up to 25 liters in the city - a rather impressive result.

Although this option predictably consumes a lot of gasoline, however, as reviews show, the problem with this car lies in completely different characteristics.

Volume - 5.6 liters

A real monster for today's latest generation of this car. Power - 405 horses, speed - 210 kilometers per hour.

  1. Leonid. Belgorod. Such a car is respected both in the city and on the highway. Therefore, he took it. Under the hood - a very serious engine, but consumes relatively little - on average, up to 15 liters of fuel comes out.
  2. Alexei. Moscow. Previously, there were more modest options for cars. This is the first SUV in my life. Immediately feel like a master on the road. True, you have to pay with fuel - my version eats around the city about 22 liters. On the highway - around 12.
  3. Semyon. Ivanovo. Picked up in 2013. For all the time, only one breakdown - unexpectedly the clutch pedal. Fortunately at that moment was outside the city, on an empty highway. The average fuel consumption also suits me quite well - about 16 liters.
  4. Dmitriy. Vladikavkaz. Quite a long time ruled in his life. So, the sensations are very similar, I mean, in terms of engine thrust. Naturally, the comfort on the Patrol is better! A powerful engine, and his appetite is brutal - in mixed mode - up to 20 liters.
  5. Vitaly. Voronezh. I have a 2011 model. Absolutely everything suits. Often I travel around the region, the car is not afraid of any difficulties. On the highway, the consumption is even nothing - only 12 liters, in the city, of course, a bit too much - up to twenty, but this has to be measured, given how many horses are hidden under the hood.

As can be seen from the reviews, it is the sixth generation of this Japanese SUV that causes the most positive emotions in people. Even despite the fact that the engine is very difficult to call economical. But even the most inexperienced motorist understands that you have to pay extra for such power.

The Japanese SUV Nissan Patrol is a true legend that has conquered the entire globe. He appeared back in 1951, today there are six modifications of this car. Its comfort, thanks to the frame design, is combined with excellent off-road performance, which requires powerful and reliable engines. That is why for Nissan Patrol owners the issue of fuel consumption per 100 km always remains relevant. A wide range of gasoline and diesel power units is installed on the machine, each of which has its own advantages.

Nissan Patrol RD28 2.8L

A 2.8 liter diesel engine with a power of 129 horsepower is installed on the fifth generation Patrol. With it, he develops a top speed of 150 km/h, which is not so bad for such a heavy car, in addition, he proved to be reliable and unpretentious. The fuel consumption of this engine reaches 15 liters per 100 km in the city, on the highway this figure drops to 9 liters, an average of 11.6 liters.

Owner reviews

  • Alexander, Nizhny Tagil. Bought a 2001 Nissan Patrol with a 2.8 liter diesel. The car is not bad, but from driving over rough terrain, the body begins to rot, timely repairs are required. As for consumption - in the city I get up to 16 liters, on the highway, if you go within 120 km / h up to 10 liters.
  • Anatoly, Ulyanovsk. I bought a diesel Patrol back in 2000. The volume of 2.8 liters is enough to feel normal in city traffic with a full interior and a loaded trunk. Consumption is not more than 16 liters in any weather in the city, on the highway you can achieve 9 liters, but if you drive normally, it will be 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Andrey, Lipetsk. Since a relatively small volume alarms a potential buyer, there was a discount on diesel 2.8 in the cabin, which I took advantage of. And he didn’t regret it - the engine pulls well, in the city and off-road, the consumption is from 14 to 16 liters, on the highway no more than 9 liters.

Nissan Patrol ZD30 3.0 L

A diesel engine with a volume of 3.0 with a power of 160 forces accelerates the car to 160 km / h, and the consumption time to hundreds is 16.3 s. It is quite traction and feels good off-road. At the same time, the Patrol with a three-liter diesel consumes too much fuel. Consumption on the highway is only 9 liters per 100 km, in the city or on off-road it rises to 13.9 liters, and in the combined cycle - 10.8 liters.

Real consumption

  • Yaroslav, Smolensk. Buying a Nissan Patrol was a dream come true in 2004. Despite the fact that the car is expensive to maintain, I am satisfied. You can go hunting and fishing all year round without any problems, while in a circle I don’t spend more than 12 liters of solarium per 100 km, which is very good for such a barn.
  • Stepan, Magnitogorsk. I have always been attracted by the technical characteristics of Nissan cars, therefore, when deciding which SUV to take, I immediately settled on Patrol. The car is very comfortable and passable. Consumption is expectedly rather big, off-road up to 16 liters, 14 in the city, 9.5 on the highway.
  • Alexander, Khabarovsk. I took my Patrol in 2007 from scratch - a five-door 3 DI Aventura SUV. For all the time I only changed consumables - filters and oil, I had to tinker with the little things in the hodovke. Everything else is excellent, a comfortable and rather unpretentious car, the average consumption is around 11 liters, however, I did not drive into the deep jungle. Diesel is not a problem provided that winter fuel is used.

Nissan Patrol TD42 4.2

The most popular version of the fifth generation Nissan Patrol is a 4.2-liter 145 horsepower diesel engine. He accelerates the car to 155 km / h, lo the first hundred in 14 s, proved to be excellent in city mode and on off-road. Fuel consumption for the Nissan Patrol of this version is quite large, in the city it takes up to 20 liters of diesel fuel, on the highway you can fit 11 liters per 100 km, and in the combined cycle it turns out 14.5 liters.

Owners write

  • Dmitry, Syzran. This car has many advantages, one of them is a high-torque 4.2-liter engine. On my Nissan Patrol, I drove where it was even impossible to pass, the car feels good on the highway and in the city. I do not like the hard rattling plastic interior. Consumption averages about 16 liters, which, I think, is a bit much.
  • Andrew, Tula. I have a 4.2 liter Patrol diesel - a great car, in my opinion, a very worthy option for any man. I don’t understand the owners who write about the high cost of maintenance, I repair it myself, and it doesn’t pull my pocket. Yes, consumption in the city in winter can reach 22 liters, but you have to pay for reliability and power.

Nissan Patrol TD42 DTTI

Cars of this modification are equipped with other variants of a 4.2 liter diesel engine, boosted to 160 hp, with increased engine power, it has the same fuel consumption as a less dynamic version. It consumes an average of 15 liters, in the city 20 liters, and on the highway 11 per 100 km.

Vehicle reviews

  • Valery, Kharkov. I sat in a car for the first time and immediately felt like I was in a real tank. At the same time, it is very comfortable, and the speed it shows completely satisfies me. The only thing that does not please is fuel consumption, which is selected up to 20 liters per hundred.
  • Valentin, Balashikha. For a long time went to Sportage, now moved to the Nissan Patrol. We are pleased with the comfort and amazing reliability of the car, high cross-country ability - you can literally leave from anywhere. At the same time, the average consumption is 17 liters, but in nature it jumps to 20-21 liters per hundred square meters.

Nissan Patrol TB45 4.5

In the fifth generation, a power unit with a volume of 4.5 liters for 200 forces is one of the most popular. This is a petrol version, offered with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The engine will accelerate the car to 100 km / h in just 11.9 seconds.

But this engine consumes quite a lot of gasoline 20 liters in the city, 12 on the highway, 16 liters in mixed mode. The machine consumes the same 20 liters in traffic, and the highway and mixed consumption - 12.2 and 16.5 liters, respectively.

Real fuel consumption

  • Ivan, Orenburg. I have a 2003 model, 4.5 liters of power is enough both on the road and off-road. In winter, to my surprise, I found that Patrol is holding the road rather poorly, maybe it's the rubber, you need to figure it out. Consumption practically does not differ from the passport in the city of 20 liters, on average it turns out about 17 liters.
  • Konstantin, Kazan. I bought a 2004 Nissan Patrol, I often travel long distances for work. The car is safe, comfortable and dynamic. The 4.5 engine with automatic transmission consumes quite a lot, up to 16 liters on the highway, if you drive at the limit, in the city at least 20. But, since I drive for work, and they return me for gasoline, I don’t really care.

Nissan Patrol 4.8

A more powerful version of the 4.8-liter gasoline engine produces 245 horsepower, with it the Patrol accelerates to 100 km / h in just 10.8 seconds. After restyling in 2004, the Japanese left this gasoline version on the assembly line. After finishing the machine, gasoline consumption was compared with mechanics and is 25 liters per 100 km in urban mode, an average of 18.2 liters, on the highway 14.3 liters.
