Specifications VW Jetta 6

The official premiere of the sixth generation took place back in 2010, however, Volkswagen Jetta could only be purchased at dealerships with the onset of 2011. It was then that the countdown of the time period of the last generation began. Let's evaluate how much the technical characteristics of the updated Jetta 6 car have changed and what engine modifications can be seen on 2015 car models.

Volkswagen Jetta 6 restyled version, which is relevant today, has practically not changed in the main parameters. Still, buyers are offered a choice of four gasoline engines with no diesel options, and as usual this is associated with the poor quality of diesel fuel in Russia. Paired with power equipment are available three types of gearboxes: 5 manual transmission, 6 automatic transmission and 7 DSG. The remaining parameters of the Volkswagen Jetta model already in 2015 can be found below.

Main technical characteristics

If we talk about the VI generation Volkswagen Jetta, which was launched on the conveyor already in the coming year, then here the technical characteristics are usually stable and no news is expected yet. The suspension of the car is also unchanged compared to the previous version. An independent, spring type MacPherson strut is installed in front. Rear suspension VW Jetta 6 - independent, spring multi-link. The multi-link suspension is now installed in any configuration of the Volkswagen Jetta and with any engine, unlike the previous version, where with atmospheric engines there was a semi-independent, torsion bar.

European equipment VW Jetta

It is also worth noting that when the Volkswagen Jetta 6 appeared on the European market, its technical characteristics looked a little different. Needless to say, buyers in Europe were presented with a wider range of power units that could be equipped with VW Jetta equipment. Volkswagen did not stint and offered six types of engines. Among them, one could notice two diesel options, they had the following characteristics:

  • 1.6 l with TDI BlueMotion turbine, corresponding to 105 hp;
  • 2.0 liter supercharged and with a claimed power of 140 hp.

Also from the gasoline options in the proposed list there were such options as:

  1. 1.2 l TSI with 105 hp;
  2. 1.4 l turbocharged and 160 hp

However, it should be noted that for starters, these were 1.4-liter Volkswagen turbo engines with a power rating of 122 hp, and a 2.0-liter unit with 200 hp. TSI. Almost all of these power plants came with a robotic gearbox. But the success of sales of even these modest trim levels allowed us to take the next step.

Volkswagen equipment version for Russia

Russian buyers, as you can see, were a little less fortunate. However, according to the manufacturers themselves, such a range of Volkswagen Jetta power plants is dictated not only by economic conditions, but also by the quality of the fuel offered. Since, as practice shows, it is the diesel versions of the VW Jetta 6 that are not long-lived due to the low quality of diesel fuel, therefore, despite the attractive technical characteristics of these engines, it was decided to exclude them from the engine line.

Thus, thanks to several years of hard and well-coordinated work, the German concern has achieved the best solution in terms of the range of the Volkswagen engine line for the Jetta model and successful sales figures. Excluding turbine power plants, as well as adding the most budget-friendly configurations, an excellent result was obtained - the demand for the VW Jetta car on the Russian market. A pleasant addition was the Volkswagen robotic box, which greatly facilitates the driving process and is aimed at more economical fuel consumption. Also, for the time being, it is the object of increased attention among car owners and provokes not a modest interest.

As a result of the analysis of the technical parameters of the VW Jetta model, which is available for purchase at the dealerships of the country, we can say that the relevance of such a car on Russian roads is quite justified. There are at least three obvious reasons for choosing this particular model. It is very economical, very presentable for a low cost and adapted to our road conditions. Otherwise, it is also a very attractive option for the acquisition and the best investment.
