- In recent years, the release of the first generation of Sobol vans also used the UMZ-4216 gasoline engine, which had a working volume of 2.89 liters and a return of up to 115 hp.
- Among diesel power plants, the GAZ-5602 engine line, developed on the basis of the imported STEYR M14 engine, was the most popular.
