Back in early February, he was the first of all Bashkiria to make an advance payment, but he received the car about two months later. I didn’t like that the car was provided with additional equipment, although the order on my part was without it. And the price was immediately raised by 150 thousand rubles!. After bargaining, the price was reduced to 100 thousand rubles. If I had known in advance that there would be such nonsense, I would not have resorted to the services of this salon, it feels like I am buying some kind of Creta that is in line, and here is a business sedan for 1.8 million. An unpleasant impression. But due to the end of my vacation, I did not refuse to buy. But apparently in vain.

Of course, the view of the car is beautiful, you can’t say anything. Its undoubted advantages include comfortable seats, a fairly comfortable steering wheel, and what I especially liked was the soft suspension - it swallows almost all holes and rides like a ship. But that's where the positives seem to end.

Xenon headlights - the far one still shines, but the near one is generally no good. Some kind of problem with the left headlight, which shines somewhere into the ground. The halogen headlights on my pre Corolla don't compare to these, they were much better.

The operation of the gearbox is like a robot on Vesta, all twitchy. At a speed of 50-60 km / h, you start to put pressure on the trigger, but nothing happens for 2-3 seconds, and then suddenly the speed instantly increases to 5-6 thousand and the car abruptly breaks down. And don’t tell me that you need to adapt to it, etc. - this is not Vesta where it’s normal for such money, this is a car for almost 2 million, I don’t have to think about how to press the pedal so that the machine understands me.

Yes, the suspension is comfortable but the rear should be a little stiffer. On our roads, like a washboard, at a speed of 120-140 km / h, the feed of the car only managed to swing up and down, although there were 5 passengers with luggage in the cabin.

As for sound insulation, it is also from the category of mediocre, especially when driving on old asphalt. There is a feeling that you even hear the noise of bearings, and not just rubber. Because of the high tunnel, it is quite uncomfortable for three to sit in the back seat.

And most importantly: the most expensive Camry is on display for a test drive. Here is a 3.5 liter engine, and a new 8-speed gearbox, which is a pleasure to ride - I tested it myself.

But when buying a mid-range Camry, comfort disappears somewhere. I have a 2.5 liter engine and an old 6-speed automatic. It turns out heaven and earth. So if you are going to buy, then take either the top 3.5 liter one or first ride on 2.5 in the configuration you need. Otherwise you will be disappointed.

Toyota Camry is a front-wheel drive business class sedan (aka the “E” segment according to the European classification), which combines a solid design, reliable construction, a high level of comfort and safety, as well as rich equipment (and all this for a relatively affordable price) .

The premiere of the Toyota Camry sedan in the new V70 body for the North American market took place at the Detroit Auto Show in 2017. Later it became known that the European version of the model, which will be sold in Russia, will receive a similar appearance and interior, but slightly different engines.

In front of the driver, there is a new steering wheel and instrument panel with a large 7.0-inch display, and for a surcharge, a ten-inch head-up display on the windshield is available for the model. The front seats are now 25mm lower than before, and the rear seats are 30mm lower.

It is paired with an 8-band Direct Shift automatic, and on the XSE version, this engine produces 209 forces and 252 Nm of torque.

The average consumption, compared with the previous 180-horsepower engine of the same size, was reduced from 8.7 to 7.4 l/100 km. Not least due to the ability of the unit to switch to the economical Atkinson cycle at light loads.

At the top of the range is the upgraded 3.5-liter "six" 2GR-FKS with D-4S fuel injection system. Such an engine produces 305 hp. and 362 Nm of thrust (it used to be 272 hp and 336 Nm), while the consumption has decreased to 9.0 liters per hundred against 9.8 before, and it also works in tandem with 8 automatic transmissions.

And there is also a hybrid modification of THS II, which included the above-mentioned 2.5-liter engine with 178 hp, a 120-horsepower (202 Nm) electric motor, a nickel-metal hydride battery with a capacity of 1.6 kWh (moved from the trunk under rear sofa) and a new generation electromechanical variator, which in Sport mode can simulate the operation of a six-speed automatic. The total output of such an installation is 211 hp, while the hybrid of the previous generation had 203 “horses”.

Overall length Toyota Camry 2018-2019 is 4,859 mm (+ 9), the wheelbase has increased to 2,824 (+ 49), the width is 1,839 (+ 19), and the height has been reduced to 1,440 (- 30). The trunk volume of the sedan is 428 liters (- 8 liters). True, on cars for the Russian market, the base engines will remain the same - we are talking about 2.0 6AR-FSE (150 hp) and 2.5 2AR-FE (181 hp) engines, both will retain a 6-band automatic . But the older unit will still be new, but for sure it will be derated from 305 to 249 forces.

Options and prices.
Sales of the new Toyota Camry V70 in the US began in the third quarter of 2017 with prices ranging from $23,495 to $34,950. Already in the base of the car are ten airbags, a stabilization system, LED head optics, 16-inch wheels, a rear view camera and a set of Toyota Safety Sense-P security systems.

The latter includes adaptive cruise control, marking and blind spot monitoring functions, an automatic braking system with pedestrian recognition and automatic high beam switching to low beam.

The start of sales of the new Camry in Russia is scheduled for April 2018, there is no information about prices yet, although according to preliminary information, it can be from 1.5 million rubles. In total, 10 fixed configurations will be offered for the model: three for cars with a base 2.0 engine, five for versions with a 2.5-liter engine, and two more for the top-end V6 modification.

New Toyota Camry 2018 decided to make it common to all markets. If earlier in the USA they released their own version, in Japan their own, and in Europe the third version of the sedan, now the manufacturer has decided to combine all modifications of the model under the general index V70. Naturally, a hybrid modification of the sedan with a deformed 2.5-liter engine and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.04 kW / h will also appear. Most likely, the hybrid will not reach our country soon.

As for the transmission, as before, the Camry has a front-wheel drive with a transverse powertrain. Instead of a 6-band hydromechanical automatic transmission, the latest 8-speed automatic transmission will now be installed.
