Their advantages of the cabin can also be called the high position of the driver's seat. This creates a valid viewing angle. Passenger seats are also quite soft and comfortable, although they, in fact, do not have any lateral support, and if a person gets obese, then the place will seem very small to him. The back row is made compact, but cozy. With any height and weight, three people can be accommodated here. At the same time, everyone, they will not sit like a “herring in a barrel”, and their legs will not touch the front row.

Thanks to these characteristics, the car has significantly lost weight compared to the previous generation. Now it weighs 1158 kilograms in running order. As for fuel consumption, the instructions are a little fib. In mixed driving mode, the car should consume 4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. He follows this characterization. But, individually, the sensors show much different from what we expected.

In urban mode Dacia Sandero Stepway should consume 4.6 liters of fuel. In fact, she "asks" 5 - 5.2 liters. In the case of driving on the highway, the opposite is true. According to the documents, the car should use 3.7 liters, and he "eats" only 3.2 - 3.5 liters. Here is the arithmetic mean of four liters.

The suspension setup is very quiet, and keep in mind that the car is front-wheel drive. Especially you can appreciate it when you do not feel any discomfort on the bumps.

Let's start with the cons, because the car has a lot more pluses:

  • as already mentioned, the interior design of the car “smells” of very budget technologies;
  • fuel economy in the city is implemented only on paper.

Pros:

  • on the track consumes a minimum of gasoline;
  • there is a lot of space inside, which is completely enough for four adults, not counting the driver;
  • roomy trunk;
  • powerful engine;
  • interesting external design;
  • extensive equipment.

The cost of the Dacia Sandero Stepway can be attributed to one of the pluses, because if we consider car dealerships in the USA, then the basic version will cost 7190 euros, and the car with the maximum “bells and whistles” will cost only 12600 euros. In Europe, the model is even cheaper. Of course, whether or not to purchase Dacia Sandero Stepway depends on your preferences. But, in our opinion, a compact crossover that can accelerate to 100 kilometers in 11 seconds and drive more than one hundred without refueling, while not requiring special operating conditions, deserves your attention. In our opinion, the Dacia Sandero Stepway is the best and most efficient car in its segment. And the interior, in the end, can be redone.

The so-called Phase 2, that is, the planned modernization of the Logan family, is still relevant only for Europe. But some of the implemented changes may later appear on Russian cars. For example, how do you like the modified bumpers, headlights and grille? With them, Logan and Sandero look fresher and more attractive. The daytime running lights are now LED, and at the rear there are fashionable lanterns with four rectangular sections.

The main new thing in the interior is a four-spoke steering wheel, and in Europe the horn button has just now been moved to the steering wheel hub: before it was located on the steering column lever, although in Russia the second-generation Logan / Sandero initially have the usual “bibikalki” location. It is interesting that the buttons on the new steering wheel have not increased: under the steering wheel there is still an additional audio control panel.

And here is another “new thing”, already familiar to Russian owners of log-shaped ones: the power window keys were moved to the doors, and the console now has duplicate rear window control buttons. There is a new thing under the hood, but for us it is irrelevant. The four-cylinder 1.2 engine (75 hp) was replaced by a three-cylinder 1.0 SCe engine of the same power. According to the passport, it is 10% more economical than its predecessor and meets Euro-6 standards. Recall that an attempt to sell our Sandero with a 1.2 engine failed: due to low demand, this version was excluded from the Russian range. But in Europe, a liter engine should come to court.

In Europe, updated cars Dacia Logan and Sandero will start selling in the near future, and the company is very proud that the price has remained at the same level: from 7790 euros for a hatchback and from 7990 euros for a sedan. In Russia, the second-generation family appeared a year and a half later than in Europe, which means that Phase 2 cars will enter our market with about the same delay. Off-road station wagons are not such a new segment, but at the moment one of its offshoots is gaining popularity - cars that allow you to get out into nature, but at the same time lack front-wheel drive and are positioned in the budget price segment. The demand for such monocabs in Europe is quite large, so it is not surprising that many manufacturers are striving to take their place in this niche.

One of these manufacturers is Renault, and not so long ago, its subsidiary Dacia presented the Logan MSV with the Stepway prefix. Can the novelty become the leader of the class?

The new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway appeared before the public in March 2017, as part of the international auto show in Geneva. The French monocab under the Romanian brand is positioned as an "off-road" station wagon and received the corresponding external paraphernalia.

Thus, the exterior of the Dacia Logan MSV with the Stepway prefix, relative to the standard modification of the model, is distinguished by increased ground clearance, a body kit and wheel arch linings made of black plastic, bumpers with pseudo-metal linings, black roof rails, silver side-view mirror housings and a unique design of rims. I moved to the Dacia Logan MSV Stepway from the usual Logan MSV. I needed a car with high ground clearance in order to sometimes get out into nature, but there was neither desire nor financial possibilities to change to a crossover. Therefore, when Stepway entered the market, I did not think for a long time and chose it without hesitation.

The current mileage on the odometer is 24 thousand kilometers. During this time, the Logan MSV Stepway managed to pass MOT at an authorized dealer, but apart from consumables in the car, I did not change anything else.

Now about impressions. I must admit that on the new car I can drive country roads more confidently, and completely ignore the curbs, because the ground clearance of the Logan MSV Stepway is 205 millimeters (against 165 millimeters for the usual station wagon variation).

A one and a half liter diesel engine with a return of 90 forces pleased me not only with peppy traction, but also with good efficiency ̶ on average, it consumed 5.5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.

I also liked the practical and beautiful upholstery of the chairs. And, of course, it is impossible not to note the spacious interior and trunk.

The disadvantages are the poor soundproofing of the wheel arches, the weak head light (the lamps of the H4 base in our time I consider complete anarchism). Another claim is the clarity of the gears of the manual gearbox and the tight clutch pedal, but this is more of a nitpick ...

Otherwise, the car pleases and I hope it lasts.

Dacia Logan MCV Stepway 2017-2018 model year looks very avant-garde. This station wagon looks like this with “all-terrain” paraphernalia in the form of gray bumper pads, a body kit made of black plastic, black roof rails and a large mesh front air intake.

Short body overhangs, coupled with high ground clearance, make it possible to confidently storm even massive curbs, as well as move on bumpy terrain without fear of damaging body parts.

Interior

The interior is assembled neatly, but the quality of the finish itself is not perfect ̶ the plastic is hard and echoing, and the fabric on the chairs is rough. There are practically no complaints about ergonomics, except for the audio system control keys, which are located on the steering column, and not on the steering wheel itself ̶ in a turn, switching a musical composition to the next one will not work.

The dashboard is recessed into shallow wells, which have a chrome trim. It is read perfectly and does not tire the eyes at night due to the soft moonlight.

As for the center console, its architecture is archaic, especially for the climate control unit in the form of three rotating washers. However, the situation is able to save the color screen of the multimedia entertainment complex.

It successfully fits into the interior, giving it a share of respectability. In addition, the screen is capable of projecting a picture from the rear-view camera and indications of the navigation system.

The driver's seat is dominated by good lateral support, however, the landing geometry can be overshadowed by the absence of a pronounced lumbar zone ̶ when traveling long distances, this is fraught with pain in the lower back.

On the sofa of the second row, the three of us will be cramped, but two passengers will feel extremely at ease even with an increase of 185 centimeters ̶ there will be enough free space in all directions. The trunk volume of 537 liters pleases with the correct shape of the cargo compartment, high loading height.

Driving properties

The 0.9-liter gasoline engine pulls well at medium speeds, but at low speeds it categorically lacks torque, so it is very difficult to start from low speeds and without vibration.

The manual box goes well with the power unit due to the optimally selected gear range, but it irritates with the amplitude movements of the lever and not always clear gear shifts.

The steering wheel, surprisingly, has fairly accurate reactions and is quite informative. But when passing bends, you should not have special illusions - the high center of mass of the car provokes high body rolls, diagonal buildup, so you need to be careful with the speed on the arc.

Suspension can feel harsh, especially on small road potholes. But its high energy intensity allows you to drive over bumps at a fairly high speed without fear of damage to the shock absorber struts.

Bottom line: The new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway is sure to appeal to rural dwellers. This station wagon has good geometric cross-country ability and does not give up in front of a deep rut or a snowdrift. Yes, and on the pavement, the habits of the car are understandable and predictable. Add to this a spacious interior, rich equipment and get the best version of a monocab for different occasions.

I bought a Daca Sandero three years ago. The machine is structurally not very good. Headlight switches are located on the turn-on lever, which often turn on with a light touch when turning on the turn. You have to watch all the time. The clutch and brake pedals from the engine (or gearbox) are subjected to high-frequency vibration, so that after an hour of driving, the legs itch. At a speed of more than 100 km / h, it is unstable (like a “tin can”) due to high ground clearance, low weight and narrow tires. The reverse gear on the gearbox is not protected in any way from accidental incorrect gear shifting, which is generally dangerous. The shift lever Dacia Sandero knocks on the limiter when the lever is moved all the way to the right or left. The first and third speeds in the gearbox are so close that you turn on the third instead of the first (until you get used to it). The center of the steering wheel is occupied by an airbag so that it is hard to see the dashboard. To expand the rear seat and increase the volume of the trunk, you have to remove the seat. When starting off, the car, as it were, "thinks", and then grabs (something with electronics). In general, I advise you to buy something else for the same money. Although who cares.

Advantages : good motor.

Flaws : there are more of them than advantages.

I have this car under the Dacia brand. I've been driving for over 2 years. Dacia Sandero is not whimsical in operation. Consumption - 7 - 8 l / 100 km in the city. Did not service under warranty - expensive. During operation 2 times I changed the oil in the engine, nothing more is required yet. The suspension is soft, confidently swallows holes. The dynamics are average, on the highway at speeds of about 100 km / h it’s hard to start overtaking. The brakes are good. Acoustic speakers can immediately throw out - "junk". Yes, by the way, despite the frankly cheap plastic interior Dacia Sandero, while there is not a single cricket, I myself am surprised. Previously, he had almost the entire line of VAZ, and so, do not mess with the Zhiguli, this car is the best alternative to them.

Advantages : energy intensity of the suspension, huge doorways, unpretentiousness, efficiency.

Flaws : the plastic of the interior is too clumsy, the lack of power steering, the exterior of the rear of the car, the stern looks somehow heavy.

The engine is frankly “stupid” (an innovation of the “90s”), but it is not picky about gasoline, and it “eats” very moderately. Suspension deserves praise - delicately protects fifth points on our pits. Salon Dacia Sandero is simple enough, but does not cause claustrophobia. The trunk is roomy and provokes to leave everything that does not fit on the balcony. The stove is a “song” sung on a polar night. The difference with the sauna is only in the absence of hot steam and drunken friends. The gear ratios of the fan blades are well chosen. Already after the second position, withered foliage and the obsolete mosquito of the past summer actively fly into the salon, because. There is no cabin filter in the database. At speeds above 3000, there is an auditory hallucination: I want to fasten the rear passengers in case of turbulence when overcoming the sound barrier. However, the speedometer needle is glued to the scale very securely. The signal button is cunningly hidden from trained fingers. And every time, slipping through an emergency intersection, it is easier to open the window, stick out the “face” through the window and signal with “native phrases”. I am in love with the car of my own free will and do not find an alternative to it because of its harmlessness and altruism.

I have owned it for 6 months, the first month I just drove in shock, like a car that is already 6 years old, nothing rattles. The speed turns on clearly, the radiator fan is not audible at all, the pedals are soft. I only changed the timing belt with a roller and oil 4000 rubles. along with work. Still some gum stabilizer everything. There is an autostart, it started calmly from home at -20 (a friend went to Siberia in a Renault Sandero in 2011, started it at -35). In the city, the most is - a good overview, etc., but the engine is no longer enough on the highway. The motor, by the way, is 1.4 liters, picks up 120 km / h calmly, and then you need to accelerate. Well, I mostly drive around the city, so I’m completely satisfied, we bought Dacia Sandero to drive, and not constantly repair like this Kalina. Of the minuses, I will say that there is no air conditioning, there is no steering wheel adjustment. These “dashes” with the fuel level, of course, got me - you never know the exact fuel level, so I always pour with a margin (92nd), although I need to pour according to my passport (95th). I put good music, the sound in the car is pleasant, the radio catches perfectly. As for the place - in Dacia Sandero it is simply full, six of us fit comfortably. In short, I am quite satisfied with the car, for this money I could have taken an almost new Grant, no, enough to feed the store (auto parts).

Advantages : reliable. Practical. Comfortable. Easy to operate. Roomy.

Flaws : "dashes" with fuel level. Lack of air conditioning.

However, their expectations are fully justified, since the car turned out to be really interesting not only in terms of appearance and set of characteristics, but also in terms of cost. It differs from the regular version of the Dacia Logan MCV Stepway 2017 by the presence of an off-road plastic body kit, as well as increased ground clearance, which is especially important for practical outdoor enthusiasts.

It is necessary to pay tribute to the designers who created the appearance of the MCV Stepway, which, despite its relatively low cost, has a really stylish and attractive appearance. In many ways, this is facilitated by the front of the car, which received original headlights and a spectacular false radiator grille, which is in perfect harmony with the front bumper, which is neatly integrated with a large air intake and a pair of foglights.

In profile, the off-road MCV differs from the basic version in the presence of chrome-plated side mirrors, a plastic body kit, roof rails and Stepway inscriptions located on the front doors.

  1. 0.9-liter three-cylinder 90-horsepower gasoline engine equipped with a turbocharger and a Start-Stop system. Such a motor can be aggregated exclusively with a 5-level mechanical transmission and front-wheel drive. Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes 12.4 seconds, and the “maximum speed” is 170 km / h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle does not exceed 5.1-5.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
  2. The suspension of the car has not undergone significant changes and has the omnivorousness characteristic of all generations of Logan. This means that even when driving on medium and large bumps in the road, the car will not greatly annoy the fifth points of its passengers.
