Sales were conducted under the name Lancer Cedia. Already in 2003, the car was restyled, and in this form it was able to gain popularity in many countries of the world, including Russia, where you can still find a lot of similar cars with left and right hand drive. The model was in the series until 2008, until it was replaced by the current generation Lancer X.

Specifications Mitsubishi Lancer 9

The set of available power units for the car is represented by three models of gasoline engines.

  • 1.3 liters (gasoline);
  • 1.6 liters (gasoline);
  • 2.0 liters (gasoline).

The youngest of them is a 1.3-liter engine with a capacity of 82 horsepower (120 Nm of maximum torque), working only with a five-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption in this case is about 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers in mixed mode. The maximum speed is limited to 171 km / h with acceleration dynamics of 13.7 seconds.

Larger four-cylinder engines with a cylinder capacity of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, with a capacity of 98 (150 Nm of torque) and 135 (176 Nm of torque) “horses”, respectively, are able to work not only with a manual gearbox, but also with a four-speed “automatic” . In Japan, versions with a CVT were available for sale, but such a transmission was not presented in other countries.

In the first case, gasoline consumption is 6.7-7.9 liters, depending on the transmission, and in the second, 8.4-9 liters. The maximum speed of the car on the "mechanics" with a 2.0-liter engine is 204 km / h with an acceleration of 9.6 seconds.

One of the advantages of the model was a fully independent suspension and an efficient steering system. Due to this, the sedan received excellent stability and smoothness when cornering, including during high-speed driving. At the same time, for Russian roads, the suspension of a Japanese car is too rigid, since the quality of the roadway almost always leaves much to be desired.

Results

Operating experience Mitsubishi Lancer 9 showed that the model is distinguished by increased reliability and unpretentious operation, and high maintainability and an abundance of spare parts significantly reduce the material costs of maintaining the machine. That is why it is still in demand among Russian motorists, and is estimated to be a much more successful Lancer model than the latest generation of the Japanese sedan.
