GAZ-3221, a car of the Gazelle family, a minibus created on the basis of the GAZ-2705 car. The first copy left the assembly line of GAZ in January 1996. The car is produced in several versions: GAZ-3221 for 9 seats, GAZ-32212 for 7 seats, GAZ-32213 for 14 seats. Small bus factories produce their own modifications of the GAZ-3221. The Semenov car repair plant produces Semar-3234, the Biysk machine-building plant - Bikas-30, the Pskovavto company - Pskov-2214, the Avtokuban company - Kuban-3232.

The minibus differs from the GAZ-2705 in improved interior trim and more comfortable seats for 8 passengers. In May 1996, a 12-seat modification GAZ-322132 appeared, which is used as a fixed-route taxi or for suburban transportation. The GAZ-32214 ambulance, equipped with the necessary equipment, is designed to transport three patients and medical workers. A special car GAZ-32215 in various trim levels is intended for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Almost all modifications are available in all-wheel drive version.
The increase in cross-country ability is achieved thanks to a permanent, non-switchable all-wheel drive, a transfer case equipped with a reduction gear and an interaxle locking differential, and oversized tires with well-developed lugs. Minibuses are equipped with a four-cylinder GAZ-560 Steyr engine with a working volume of 2446 cm³ and a power of 90 hp, as well as a five-speed gearbox. At the request of the customer, a power steering, power windows on the doors, electric headlight corrector, and air conditioning are installed on the machine. Minibuses are exported to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, the countries of Central and South America, Southeast Asia. For the northern countries, a warmed version of the car has been developed.
