Extreme and counter-emergency driving courses - an overview. Extreme driving or counter-emergency training? What is the difference? Discount for regular customers

The level of responsibility of a modern driver simply rolls over: he is responsible not only for himself and his vehicle, but also for passengers, as well as for pedestrians and fellow drivers. An emergency situation can arise on the road at any time, so the person behind the wheel must be ready for anything. To improve driving skills, numerous courses of emergency or extreme driving have been developed. So how useful can such a product be?

Simple numbers for complex problems

Before we begin to understand the difference between emergency driving courses and extreme driving lessons, let's turn to the good old lady statistics. Few people know that in standard traffic conditions, drivers tend to use no more than 30% of their car's capabilities. If we are talking about "dummies", then this figure is even lower - about 20%. Professionals can "squeeze out" about 50% of its potential from their car. The possibilities of their car are used to the maximum only by racers, and even then this happens exclusively on specially prepared tracks.

Only professional athletes can use the full potential of their car

We started talking about the potential of the car is not accidental. The fact is that situations may arise on the road that will require us to maximize the return of not only our own strength, energy, concentration, reaction and ability to think soberly when “shells are exploding” around, but also full return from the car. Can courses of counter-emergency driving help us with this?

Extreme or counter-emergency driving: terminology difficulties

Drivers often confuse these two completely different concepts. If we are talking about the ability to drive a car in the most critical situations that may occur on public roads, then this is counter-emergency driving. But extreme driving can be called a “quasi-sport”, when the driver drives his car using the techniques of rally racers. So there can be no talk of extreme driving on public roads.

Do not confuse "contravariyka" with extreme driving, which is essentially a sport

But let's abstract away from precise definitions and encyclopedic meanings. We will immediately agree that we will perceive both contra-emergency and extreme driving as special training aimed at improving the level of driving skills, the ability to react in emergency situations and learn how to make often the only right decisions.

Many people ask quite a fair question - do I really need extreme driving lessons? Only you can answer this question yourself. If we take into account the data of UNESCO, according to which every year a total of 1 million people die on the roads of the world, and only in Russia alone - about 30 thousand, then everything falls into place. The driver, especially the one who is not confident in his own abilities, must be prepared for the fact that at some point the merciful road traffic god will turn away from him.

The essence of counter-emergency driving

Speaking poetically, the road is a ribbon with which a box is tied, fraught with a lot of surprises. And it depends only on the driver whether these surprises will be pleasant or not. For example, every year at the beginning of winter, the whole of Russia celebrates the "Tinsmith's Day", when the statistical diagrams of road accidents begin to support the ceiling. What is the problem? Unprepared for a sudden change of season? Lack of time to replace summer tires with winter ones? Driver indiscipline or inattention? Failure of biological rhythms? Not! The issue is the lack of driver skills.

Group lessons are much cheaper.

At the same time, almost any extreme driving school will allow you to acquire the necessary skills in just a week. Yes, you will not become a professional. But you can get out of trouble.

Moscow drivers quite often have to get into emergency situations

Photo balancer.ru

Moscow is a very demanding city, which can charge the driver with such a bill that it is better not to think about. And the more people who are trained to act in extreme situations on the white-stone roads, the less these same situations will disturb the evening news releases.

Stages of the "countervariant"

Basically, high-quality courses are offered not at all by driving schools that indulge in the provision of additional services, but by highly specialized training centers. And there are more than enough such companies, as well as private car instructors who teach extreme driving, today. So, what will a professional offer us?

Collision driving - a specific type of guarantee

Photo aosvc.com.ua

First, he will break all the training into stages, and they will look something like this:

Stage 1: the ability to competently work with the controls of the car, the development of rectilinear movement and the passage of overall training.

Stage 2: the use of passive safety elements (principles of proper driving position), in-depth training in working with car controls (various steering techniques, quick gear shifting, engine braking methods), the use of active safety elements (efficient acceleration, emergency braking, techniques for entering into turns).

Stage 3: driving features in summer and winter, acquiring emergency maneuvering skills in emergency situations and in conditions of low coefficient of adhesion to the road surface, demolition, skidding and stabilization of the car in combined sliding.

Interesting Facts

There are about 20 steering techniques, more than 200 braking elements and techniques, and 26 throttling techniques - ways to control the gas pedal.

Whatever extreme driving courses in Moscow you choose, the main tasks in emergency training will be: revealing your driving capabilities and improving their level, assessing the capabilities of your personal car in critical situations, providing the maximum number of “tools” that will help you get out of any emergency alterations.

The main thing is self-control, understanding that everyone can act at the level of the subconscious and muscle memory, self-confidence and the competent distribution of their strengths and knowledge. And then you will be able, like your driving instructor, to work wonders while driving your favorite car.

Why do you need an emergency driving course?

Highways are known to be a high-risk area. Almost every driver has a chance to get into one or another extreme situation. From this no one is immune in our time. It is almost impossible to predict the reaction and behavior of a person who got into an extreme situation by car. However, you can avoid the negative consequences of an extreme situation on the road. It all depends on the level of training and experience of the driver. Special driving courses in extreme situations will help you gain confidence and peace of mind on the road.

The school of counter-emergency training at the AMK FSO offers its services in improving the level of driver training. At the end of our emergency driving courses, the student will be ready for any emergency situation on the road. At the same time, I would like to point out the fact that we do not teach extreme driving as recklessness, which in itself is a threat to the life of the driver and other road users surrounding him. In our emergency training center, the main emphasis is on safety, on how to avoid emergency situations! Here you need to clearly understand that counter-emergency driving is a set of specific measures aimed at reducing the risks of road users.

The program of the course "Counter-emergency training"

Classes in our center of driving skills are conducted by highly qualified instructors who have been trained by the best specialists, both in Russia and abroad, who in fact have repeatedly managed to confirm their highest professional level.
During the lessons on counter-emergency training, all aspects of driving skills will be explained to the listeners in the most accessible form, the listeners will learn a lot of new things about reflex driving.

Teach beginners and professionals

Students with completely different levels of training come to our safe driving training center. In this connection, there are several training programs on counter-emergency driving, which are focused on specific target driver groups. We work not only with novice drivers, but also with professionals who want to improve their driving skills. Our counter-emergency training courses in this regard will be useful to everyone. For novice drivers, a one-day program has been developed, the goals of which are: increasing the level of technical skills of trainees; familiarization of trainees with the basic technical methods of driving a car in various traffic situations; providing an opportunity for trainees to independently assess their ability to drive a car in various traffic situations. The program consists of both theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part of the program includes: the concept of professional excellence, its components and opportunities for improvement; proper fit, its benefits, selection and control; consideration of the most common mistakes made by drivers with little driving experience. The practical part consists of exercises of varying difficulty.

For experienced drivers, we have both a winter program of emergency training courses (from November to April) for front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive vehicles, and a summer program (from May to October).

    Driver training is an important part of driving. The ability to prevent dangerous situations and minimize accident consequences is a necessary skill for all motorists. For those who want to not just drive a car, but do it "with the breeze", these skills are key. The school of emergency driving always precedes the training in extreme skills.

    What is defensive driving?

    Emergency driver training is aimed at:

    • training in the correct behavior of the driver on the road to prevent the occurrence of emergency, extreme situations;
    • formation of skills of correct actions if an emergency or extreme situation has arisen, or there is a high risk of its occurrence.

    Training in counter-emergency driving includes the development of the following skills:

    • driver's seat;
    • sudden braking algorithm;
    • effective sudden braking;
    • taxiing when predicting an emergency;
    • increased handling in a turn;
    • reversing;
    • back parking.

    Training in the listed skills is included in the course of all schools of emergency or extreme driving.

    Elements of emergency response training for drivers

    Any training in defensive driving begins with the correct seating of the driver. It is good when the driver feels comfortable and comfortable behind the wheel. However, the landing of the driver is, first of all, his safety and only secondly - comfort.

    Emergency situations require a quick response, which is only possible if the posture of the person behind the wheel is correct.

    The landing of the driver involves the following rules:

    • when driving in a straight line, the hands should be in the upper sector of the steering wheel - position 10-2 or 9-3;
    • wean yourself from the habit of leaning your elbow on the door;
    • avoid steering with one hand;
    • keep your back straight, do not slouch behind the wheel;
    • straighten your arms at the elbows as much as possible;
    • press your back against the chair as much as possible.

    Following these rules will allow you to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.

    Sudden braking algorithm

    Braking must begin early. This will allow you to better control the situation, as well as have additional time to perform the necessary sudden maneuvers.

    It has been calculated that as a result of the advance transfer of the foot from the gas pedal to the brake pedal, 0.2 s is saved, which makes it possible to reduce the braking distance by a distance of up to 5 m. It is no secret that in an emergency, it is 2-3 m that are critical, which are always not enough .

    To have these 0.2 s at your disposal, follow the following scheme of actions:

    1. Release the gas pedal.
    2. Move your foot to the brake pedal; do not press the pedal.
    3. Start applying minimal effort to the brake pedal.
    4. If the traffic situation threatens to develop according to a dangerous scenario, start full braking.
    5. In the event of an emergency, start emergency step braking.
    6. If a safe stop is not possible, step on the gas and perform an emergency manoeuvre.
    7. Stabilize the vehicle by taxiing.

    Effective sudden braking

    The most effective way of sudden braking during rectilinear motion of the vehicle is intermittent (impulse) braking. It is always safer than continuous.

    Although it loses a little in time to the second, intermittent braking allows you to better control the movement and, if necessary, take additional maneuvers.

    Impulse braking is the best way with an unstable coefficient of adhesion of the wheels to the road:

    • with an uneven canvas;
    • on ice-snow areas;
    • in other situations, when the car goes into an uncontrolled skid.

    Intermittent braking is the alternation of vigorous, but limited in time, braking and periods of wheel release.

    Basic rules for intermittent braking:

    • avoid multi-pulse braking;
    • do not use rhythmic braking impulses;
    • use a circuit with a repeating cycle "brake impulse - release";
    • avoid prolonged braking force;
    • when blocking the front wheels, release the brakes;
    • correct the direction of movement during the release period;
    • braking impulses should fall on sections of a flat road surface on which the adhesion of the wheels to the surface is maximum;
    • each subsequent braking impulse must be more intense than the previous one, both in strength and duration.

    If the vehicle becomes more likely to lose stability, the brake should never be applied and only intermittent braking should be used.

    Taxiing when predicting an emergency

    The position of the hands when driving a car is fundamentally important to prevent the transition of the situation from critical to emergency.

    • sharp turn

    Before the tight turn, the arms move from 10-2 to 12-4 or 8-12 depending on the direction of the turn.

    • High-speed steering with both hands

    High-speed taxiing is carried out by quickly turning the steering wheel with a cross grip with your hands. For example, on the right side:

    1. We sharply turn the steering wheel to the right to position 12-4;
    2. Continue turning the steering wheel until the left hand is in position 4, the right hand grabs the steering wheel with a cross grip to position 12;
    3. We continue to rotate the steering wheel until the right hand is in position 4, the left hand is transferred to position 12.

    The described scheme of taxiing on the side sector of the steering wheel with alternating cross grips of the left or right hands is the fastest and most reliable method of taxiing used in any extreme maneuvers.

    When exiting the high-speed turn mode, do not release the steering wheel and allow it to spin in the opposite direction on its own. When using this tactic, we always run the risk of skidding, as well as losing control over the movement of the vehicle.

    As a result, the driver will not be able to take an emergency maneuver in the final phase of exiting a corner.

    On the contrary: you want to keep your hands firmly in contact with the steering wheel while continuing to level the machine.

    • Reversing

    The driver shifts his left hand to position 12, turns his body to the right, thanks to which he gets a better visual overview, including what is happening behind the car.

    • 180° turn when driving forward

    The left hand is in position 12. The right hand is on the handbrake lever.

    • 180° turn in reverse

    One of the arms goes into position 6. Deep grip with the elbow raised high. Ready for a circular rotation of the steering wheel without interception.

    • Critical skid countermeasures

    High-speed steering with both hands. The first turn is done sharply with one hand, saving time on the interception.

    • Vehicle stabilization during rotation

    The left hand is in position 12. The right hand is on the handbrake. Causes the rear axle to slip with compensation in the direction opposite to rotation. To do this, the left hand with the steering wheel goes to position 6, ready for a circular rotation of the steering wheel without interception.

    Improved cornering control

    In order to pass the corner safely and without slowing down, you need to load the front outer wheel with light braking. In this case, the gas should not be completely closed.

    Recall that in an arc motion, a centrifugal force acts on the vehicle, overloading the outer wheels and worsening the controllability of the car.

    Additional braking of the front wheel compensates for the loss of control.

    Consider a few tricks to improve the handling and stability of the car in a turn.

    • Smoothing the trajectory

    The higher the speed of the vehicle, the higher the centrifugal force and the less stable it is. The general rule of the counter-collision school of cornering, which guarantees greater safety, is the method of smoothing the trajectory. It consists in making the turning arc as straight as possible. For this:

    • Enter the turn from the outer edge of the road;
    • A sharp entry into a turning arc with the direction of movement towards the inner edge of the road;
    • Upon reaching the apex - a smooth exit from the turning arc to the outer edge of the road.

    In addition, driving with internal unloaded wheels to the side of the road will help to smooth the trajectory of the turn. The outer wheels at the same time retain good traction.

    Consequently, the handling of the machine will remain satisfactory, and cornering will be safer.

    • Splitting the turning arc into 2 turns

    The trajectory of the rotary arc, if necessary, can always be divided into 2 or more segments. What is the condition for this necessity? For example, it can be any defect in the roadway, puddle, pit, etc. In order for the trajectory not to pass through a dangerous section of the turn, a sharp turn is made, exit to a straight trajectory (bypassing a difficult section), a sharp turn again and exit from the turning trajectory.

    • Early entry into the turn

    Two features of the car's movement in a turn should be distinguished:

    1. a smaller radius of the turning arc increases the centrifugal force and impairs the stability of the vehicle;
    2. a smooth entry into a turn almost always requires a “turn” in the apex area, which also increases the likelihood of non-standard behavior of the car (in other words, demolition).

    Based on this, when driving it is logical:

    1. make a turn with a large radius of the turning arc;
    2. make a steep entrance to the turn;
    3. make a smooth exit from the turn.

    Before entering a turn, you need to load the front wheels with braking.

    Combining earlier entry into the turn and smoothing the trajectory allows you to straighten the trajectory of the exit from the arc and, accordingly, start an accelerated movement earlier.

    Reversing

    Any school of emergency driving never gets around the topic of reversing a car. The reverse movement is characterized by the following features:

    • the vehicle is more maneuverable;
    • in corners when reversing, the front of the machine deviates significantly to the outside of the turn.

    The following emergency tips for reversing will be helpful:

    • always move at a minimum speed;
    • at first, control the movement directly through the rear window, half-turning the body and head back;
    • when maneuvering in reverse, do not forget to control the front of the car;
    • to correct the trajectory, use the minimum amplitude of the rudder.

    Reverse parking

    Emergency driver training involves training in reverse parking. Knowing about the peculiarities of the car moving in reverse, if you have practice, it will not be difficult to park in the parallel parking option between, for example, cars.

    Parallel parking in reverse:

    1. The steering wheel turns towards the parking lot.
    2. When the inner edge of the car is 45° in relation to the curb line of the parking space, the steering wheel is turned in the opposite direction.
    3. Check-in part of the body to the parking lot.
    4. Correction of the trajectory: driving forward, taxiing, reversing.

    Perpendicular reverse parking:

    1. Turn the steering wheel all the way to park.
    2. Moving in reverse, we align the car relative to the boundaries of the parking space.
    3. If necessary, we carry out the correction of the trajectory.

    The following factors can be identified that affect the cost of driver training courses:

    Trainer:

    • The experience of teaching driving skills improvement courses is important, very often you can meet driving school instructors who declare that they will conduct classes in emergency training, having completed only such courses in one of the emergency schools.
    • Experience in professional motorsport: extreme sliding at the speed limit on a variety of unstable surfaces is nothing more than a real test of all theoretical knowledge in practice: there is simply no room for error. No one will teach you how to cope with emergency situations better than a teacher who regularly confirms his knowledge and skills in practice.
    • Ranks and titles: in professional motorsports, behind every medal and cup are colossal resources. This is the well-coordinated work of the whole team: mechanics, suspension tuning specialists and minders. These are sports cars, prepared in accordance with the strictest requirements and equipment that has been tested and protects the rider in the event of an accident. In addition, dozens of failures, retirements, accidents and injuries can be behind every victory. Therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to say that experience in motorsport is gained by sweat, blood, scars and the worst consequences after accidents.
    Class format:
    When choosing a school and training program based on the cost of the product, remember that individual lessons are only at first glance more expensive than group ones. In absolute terms, for the same time of an individual lesson, you will be in practical work three times more, and in the area of close attention of the trainer. An individual lesson will allow the coach to focus on your motor skills - that is the main thing that determines the quality and safety of driving.

    Playground:

    At the moment, there are two autodromes in Moscow that meet the requirements for conducting classes in emergency training and extreme driving.
    Ordinary driving schools, supermarket parking lots and public roads are not suitable for this!

    Lesson times:
    On weekdays from 8 am, renting a training ground will cost less than at a popular time on weekends.

    Automobile:
    We recommend taking classes in the car you plan to drive.
    Exceptions - children's programs, the desire to try another car in driving, the author's program on the legendary Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, track races - in all these cases, a car can be rented for an additional fee.
