I received an ELM327 unit with a Wi-Fi module from Aliexpress. I paired it with Torque without any problems. But I was not satisfied with the fact that by default the access point that this block creates is initially open, without any passwords. Through the web face of the block, I got into its settings. With crazy hands I screwed up what I wanted there and pressed the Restart button ... I didn’t see the module in the list of Wi-Fi networks anymore. I contacted the seller, he could not answer anything intelligible. I decided to proceed at my own peril and risk.
Carefully opened the plastic case of the unit. It is assembled with glue, so I had to walk a little with a knife along the junction of the body halves. Inside, a board was found, on which another small one sits through the connector. It is labeled HF-LPB100. An Internet search showed that this is a universal Wi-Fi module, on which many Chinese devices are built. Further search led to the manual for this module, a very interesting thing turned out to be for those who know. But at the moment I was only interested in one question: "How to reset to the original settings?".
It turned out that everything is very simple. In order to reset all our clumsy settings to default, we just need to bridge two pins on the board. I am attaching a picture from the manual (now there is nothing to make a normal photo with). On it, I marked the jumper in red. If you yourself are afraid, then ask those who are friends with a soldering iron. You need to bridge the contacts for three to four seconds. I did it like this. First, he pulled the block out of the diagnostic connector, then closed contacts 47 and 48 with fine-tipped tweezers. Plugged the block in. Hold it for three or four seconds. Removed the tweezers. In the list of networks, I saw the long-awaited open WiFi_OBDII network. If suddenly this does not help, then you can also try to close contacts 45 and 48.
After I was able to "revive" my block, I began to poke around further in its settings. And the reset method helped me five more times. Today I'm driving with this unit for half a day, which now has a secure access point with WPA2 encryption.

Will the XXX parameter show for my machine YYY?
Usually, the machine's ECU supports the most standard parameters (speed, rpm, coolant temperature, battery voltage) and Torque will be able to display them without much sophistication. Other parameters may not be supported by this ECU.
