In this preview review, I want to tell you about the recently released successor of traditions, a tank from two well-known companies, which has acquired a new, third version.

Of course, we are talking about something that appeared quite recently Billow V3 RTA.

And...he reminds me of someone, to be honest.

In my previous review I told you about iJoy Reaper Plus, a tank that could be successful has many interesting technical solutions, but the implementation of these technical solutions, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired.

So, I have a strong feeling that EHPRO And Eciggity looked at that same tank, listened to what users wanted and released Billow V3.

Let's move on to the review and you will immediately understand what I'm talking about.

Appearance:

Outwardly, at least in my opinion, Billow V3 became a little more boring than its predecessors. Billow V2 I personally liked it better. But on the other hand, it did not have as many functions as there are here. Moreover, from a design point of view V3 very reminiscent of the very first version Billow, compare them yourself:

As you can see, the design of the base has undergone quite significant changes. Firstly, the wick now needs to be pushed into the holes, and secondly, the design of the racks has changed - they have clamping bolts on the sides, and in the plus rack (the larger one) there is an additional airflow channel. Air blowing through the racks is usually delicious, so this is good news.

Also, due to changes in the design (the stands are somewhat reminiscent of the design of the Velocity RDA stands), it will probably be a little easier to install the coils. The diameter of the holes in the posts has become larger, now they have a diameter of 2 mm, thus providing additional possibilities for winding.

Well, the changed airflow, I hope, will finally make puffing a little easier - one of the drawbacks Billow V2 For many, it was precisely the tightness of the tightening.

Top, in the style of the above iJoy Reaper Plus, only more thoughtful - the o-ring is at the very bottom and probably won’t jump off anywhere.

It's hard to judge without testing the device, but at first glance everything looks very good. Here you have top filling with excellent implementation, airflow through the racks and adjustment of the liquid supply - in general, a lot of pleasant technical solutions. However, we should not forget that pleasant technical solutions do not always work as intended. We will definitely try to get this device for testing and later we will post our version of the review, with a full test. For now - not bad. But only in appearance.

Original Ehpro product

The Billow atomizer series is the hallmark of Ehpro. Previous versions of this device were a real find for fans of flavorful vaping. They had a spacious tank, a fairly tight tightening and a base that was convenient for its time. Billow v 2.5 is a kind of return to origins. The familiar design, large tank (now 6ml) and compact evaporation chamber, which produces excellent taste, remain in place. All this is complemented by a modern top filling and a convenient Velocity base, which make vaping even more comfortable than before.

The first feature of the Billow 2.5 RTA is the top fill assembly. Nowadays you rarely see another method, but at the time of Billow's second version, such an obvious and convenient solution was not so popular. To refill, it was necessary to remove the atomizer, disconnect the base, and pour liquid into an inverted tank. In Ehpro Billow v 2.5 everything is much simpler. Unscrew the top cap and pour the liquid into one of the two side holes under it. The area under the lid has beveled edges, so every single drop of liquid rolls straight into the tank. The capacity of the latter is 6 ml, which is enough for several hours of vaping. Another useful function is to block the access of liquid to the evaporation chamber during refueling. This ensures that liquid is not forced out through the air ducts when you screw on the cap after filling the tank.

The second feature of Ehpro Billow v 2.5 RTA is the base. Its design includes two modern Velocity racks, high air ducts and deep grooves for laying the wick. And all this in a compact evaporation chamber. It is precisely because of its compactness that each puff is filled with many shades that merge into a bright, multifaceted taste. The correct tightening, which Billow v 2.5 provides, also makes its contribution to the overall cause. Buying this atomizer for free (hookah) vaping is not the best solution. Although the intensity of the draw can be adjusted using the ring at the bottom of the tank, even when fully open it remains moderately tight compared to modern bulk atomizers.

Design

Atomizer appearance Billow V3 RTA quite radically different from the design of Ehpro Billow V2. The new model has a smooth cylindrical shape, without narrowing or widening in diameter. The body parts are made of durable stainless alloy, the processing of the edges and edges is very precise and neat. The device is available in two color options: polished steel and black coating applied by oxidation. The most striking detail that stands out on the smooth cylinder of the tank is the large device logo, deeply engraved on the filling cap. The liquid tank is made of durable Pyrex glass. Delrin drip tip

The drip tip of the serviceable Billow V3 atomizer is made of special plastic. This material is called “Delrin”; its main advantage over other materials used in the production of mouthpieces is its extremely low thermal conductivity. Thanks to this property, the Delrin drip tip practically does not heat up when vaping. You can often find mouthpieces whose base is made of Delrin and the body is made of stainless steel. In the case of the Billow V3 RTA, the drip tip is made entirely of heat-resistant plastic, which ensures maximum vaping comfort. The mouthpiece has a connector of standard size 510, two o-rings provide a tight and reliable connection of the drip tip to the tank.

The serviceable Ehpro Billow V3 atomizer is equipped with one of the simplest and most convenient refilling systems with protection against leaks using a liquid supply control system. The dome of the evaporation chamber and the base of the atomizer each have four holes for supplying liquid to the wicks; the supply system is controlled by rotating the tank body, with which the dome of the evaporation chamber rotates.

Refilling the Ehpro Billow V3 RTA tank is very simple:

• Once - shut off the liquid supply by turning the tank body so that the holes in the dome of the evaporation chamber are closed by the protrusion of the atomizer base.
• Two - pull up the cover with the model logo. Lifting up, the filling cap provides access to a wide hole located on the side. The opening dimensions of 10 by 4 mm make it easy to fill the tank, regardless of the bottle used.
• Three – lower the lid into place. The filling cap is held in the closed position by a silicone o-ring and a tight connection to the top of the tank body. The O-ring also ensures the tightness of the liquid container, preventing it from spilling out.

The advantages of such a filling system are obvious: there are no leaks through the air channels, there is no need to put the filling cap aside or try to hold it in your hands, the filling hole located on the side makes the process truly comfortable.

The atomizer tank is quite spacious: you can fill up to 4.6 milliliters of your favorite liquid and enjoy delicious vapor for a long time.

Winding base

The most significant improvement that Ehpro has introduced into the new model is a completely new base for winding the heating coils. The Ehpro Billow V3 RTA is equipped with a base with two vertical velocity-style posts designed to hold two coils, as well as a unique groove design.

The process of installing and fixing the coils is made simple and easy due to the fact that the wire holes are located one above the other, and the hex key clamping screws enter the posts from the side. The distance between the posts is 6 mm, which, together with the holes having 1.8 mm in diameter, allows you to install fairly large coils with low Ohm resistance.

Fluid slots deserve special attention. They are made in the form of four holes in the cylindrical base of the base. The grooves are designed in such a way that placing a cotton wick in them does not require any tricks or complications: you simply lower the ends of the wick into the grooves and the installation is complete.

Performance and airflow

Billow V3 RTA is a modern atomizer capable of producing large amounts of vapor, satisfying the needs of the most demanding vapers. High rates of steam production are ensured primarily by a large base for windings, which can easily accommodate large sub-Ohm windings of 0.3 Ohm and even lower. In this base you can install both a powerful parallel and a large Clapton, which perfectly reveals the taste.

Four grooves, each with a diameter of 3 mm, ensure a stable flow of liquid into the evaporation chamber, keeping the taste rich and bright.

The heating coil blowing system, just like the base, has a unique device. The main airflow is carried out from below, through wide oval shafts, but in addition to the main airflow, additional airflow is also provided. The additional airflow hole is located in the plus post of the base, on the side of the coils. Air enters through side slots measuring 9.8 by 2 mm, then most of it goes into the main airflow, and the remaining air enters an additional hole through a cavity in the brass positive contact. By thus increasing the intensity of airflow on the coils, Ehpro engineers increased the amount of vapor produced by the atomizer and significantly improved the development of the taste of liquids.

Equipment

The kit includes a traditional Pyrex borosilicate glass replacement bulb, which can seriously extend the life of the tank.

Also included for replacement and repair is a complete set of silicone o-rings and screws.

An L-shaped hex wrench is useful for fixing coils in the base posts and removing used coils.

If you don't have wire on hand, you can use two coils, carefully pre-wound at the Ehpro factory and placed in a bag along with a piece of Japanese organic cotton. Cotton will be a great wick for both these coils and your own builds.

Billow v3 is a complete reconstruction of Billow v2. Manufacturers, having received a lot of feedback from users about previous versions, tried to embody in Billow v3 all the best that a serviceable tank can have!

Packaging and equipment

Billow 2nd edition comes in a cardboard box. In general, it is very worthy, but is inferior in quality to many competitors, and is not suitable for a gift. The delivery includes the tank itself, a set of spare rings and spare parts, two coils and some fleece. The workmanship is excellent - the details are excellent, there are chamfers on all corners, the threads do not jam. The design is controversial: excellent solutions border on minor defects.

Personally, the quality of the base seemed a little rough to me; the same UD with Zephyrus, Goblin and Goliath are one step ahead.

Refueling is carried out by analogy with maintenance-free tanks ( Subtank , Atlantis etc.): to the bottom of the unscrewed flask. In reality, the flask contains 4.7 ml of liquid, which is a good indicator for a modern tank. The refilling holes are large, it is convenient to refill both from a pipette and from a bottle with a spout. Disassembling the flask is inconvenient, since the metal parts are too small and you will most likely have to use pliers. The large glass area makes the flask the most vulnerable part of the tank. It’s better to immediately put on a silicone bumper - vape band.

Tests and impressions

The tank is easy to use. The deck is large - the coils fit quite easily, laying the wool does not cause any problems either: we just place the ends of the wool in the extensions of the supply channels. The build is covered with a protective cover, which prevents the cotton wool from being damaged during refilling. The flask unscrews easily, without effort, but it will not unscrew on its own. It is convenient to refill Billow from any container.

As for vaping, the impressions are neutral. This tank is missing WOW factor a!. The main complaint is the lack of air: compared to some competitors, the Billow v2 stretches tighter and, accordingly, the pair gives less. The feed grooves, by the way, are also not very good at handling thick liquids (80 pg/20 vg) with a power of more than 60 watts. But such airflow has an undoubted advantage - Billow turned out to be a very tasty tank.
