Refueling tanks.

Filling capacity of the engine coolant (with reservoir): ~ 6.7 l.

Tank: 0.7 l.

Antifreeze: comes in original packaging from NISSAN Castrol Antifreeze NF.

Ready coolant Nissan L250 Coolant Premix:

  • 1 Liter KE90299934
  • 5 Liters KE90299944

Checking the coolant level.

Make sure the coolant level in the reservoir is between the MIN and MAX marks when the engine is cold.

If there is less or more coolant, bring the level to normal!

Draining the coolant.

1. Remove the lower engine protection.

2. Disconnect the bottom hose from the radiator and remove the radiator cap.

3. Turn out stoppers from drain apertures on the block of cylinders.

4. Remove the tank and drain the coolant.

Check the coolant for contaminants such as rust, corrosion and discoloration. If there are traces of contamination, flush the engine cooling system.

Flushing the cooling system.

1. Fill the radiator with water until water flows out of the bypass plug, then tighten the plug.

3. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

4. Press the accelerator pedal two or three times without load.

5. Stop the engine and wait until it cools down.

6. Drain the water.

Filling the engine with coolant.

1. Install the tank, screw the plugs into the drain holes on the radiator and cylinder block.

2. Apply sealant to the threads of the cylinder block drain plug.

3. Use branded sealant or equivalent.

4. Remove the bypass plug.

5. Fill the radiator and tank to the required level. Pour in the coolant slowly at a rate of less than 2 liters. per minute to allow air to escape from the system.

6. Tighten the bypass plug when coolant starts to flow out of it.

7. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature by removing the cap from the radiator. If coolant is pouring out of the radiator filler neck, install the cap.

Let the engine run at 3000 rpm for 10 seconds, then return to idle rpm by screwing the cap on the radiator.

8. Repeat two or three times.

ATTENTION! Watch the coolant temperature gauge so as not to overheat the engine.

9. Stop the engine and cool to below 50°C. To save time, cool with a fan.

If necessary, top up the radiator with coolant up to the filler neck.

11. Check the cooling system for leaks with the engine running.

12. Warm up the engine and check for the sound of leaking coolant by revving the engine from idle to 3000 rpm and setting the heater temperature control to several positions between COOL and WARM.

Antifreeze is a non-freezing technological fluid designed to cool a running Nissan Note engine at an external temperature of + 40C to - 30..60C. The boiling point of antifreeze is about +110C. The function of antifreeze also includes lubrication of the internal surfaces of the system. nissan note, including the water pump, preventing the formation of corrosion. The life of the unit depends on the condition of the liquid.

Tosol is a brand of domestic antifreeze, developed back in 1971, which began to be produced in Tolyatti during the Soviet era. There were only 2 types of domestic antifreeze: antifreeze-40 (blue) and antifreeze-65 (red).

Antifreezes are distinguished by the additives included in it:

  • Traditional antifreezes;
  • Hybrid antifreeze G-11(Hybrid, "hybrid coolants", HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology));
  • Carboxylate antifreezes G-12, G-12+("Carboxylate coolants", OAT (Organic Acid Technology));
  • Lobrid antifreeze G-12++, G-13("Lobrid coolants" or "SOAT coolants").

If you need to add coolant to your Nissan Note, it is safe to mix only one type of antifreeze, not a color. Color is just a dye. It is forbidden to pour water (even distilled) into the Nissan Note radiator, because in the heat at a temperature of 100C the water will boil and scale will form. In frost, the water will freeze, the pipes and radiator of the Nissan Note will simply break.

Replace coolant on Nissan Note for several reasons:

  • Antifreeze is running out- the concentration of inhibitors in it decreases, the heat transfer decreases;
  • Low level of antifreeze from leaks- its level in the Nissan expansion tank must remain constant. In this case, it can leave through leaks in the joints, or cracks in the radiator, pipes.
  • Decreased antifreeze level due to engine overheating- the antifreeze begins to boil, in the stopper of the expansion tank of the Nissan Note cooling system, a safety valve opens, releasing antifreeze vapors into the atmosphere.
  • Nissan Note cooling system parts being replaced or engine repair
A frequently triggered radiator fan in the heat is a reason to check the quality of antifreeze. If you do not timely replace antifreeze with Nissan Note, then it will lose its properties. As a result, oxides are formed, there is a danger of the engine overheating in hot weather and its defrosting at low temperatures. The term of the first replacement for G-12+ antifreeze is 250 thousand kilometers, or 5 years.

Signs by which the state of used antifreeze in Nissan Note is determined:

  • Test strip results;
  • Measuring antifreeze in Nissan Note with a refractometer or hydrometer;
  • Change in color shade: for example, it was green, it became rusty or yellow, as well as turbidity, fading;
  • The presence of chips, chips, scale, foam.
Replacing antifreeze with a Nissan Note is not a complicated procedure:

Flushing the Nissan Note cooling system before adding new antifreeze completely removes protective layer and remnants of old antifreeze, this is necessary when switching from one type to another. To flush the Nissan Note radiator, you should use a special tool, which is often diluted with water in accordance with the instructions.

Ready rinse is poured into expansion tank radiator Nissan Note with the engine turned off. It must first be warmed up to operating temperature so that the thermostat opens and the antifreeze begins to circulate through a large circle of the cooling system.

The engine is then started and allowed to idle for 30 minutes. Drain the flushing liquid. The operation is repeated depending on the composition of the outflowing liquid. The flushing mixture can be used only in the first run, in subsequent runs - distilled water. The time for replacing antifreeze with a Nissan Note is from half an hour, with flushing - up to 1.5 hours.

Replacing antifreeze with Nissan Tiida must be timely - this is extremely important for the normal functioning of the power unit on this machine. Some manufacturers claim to change the fluid (once a year is needed to prevent rust).
The engine temperature which is optimal (for the engine internal combustion), should be between 80-90 degrees Celsius. To maintain this mode, you need to constantly remove heat from heated parts.

Causes of coolant leaks

The antifreeze in the tank decreases when the engine is running, even when the system is working. Antifreeze periodically evaporates, and in winter, when cooling occurs, part of the liquid is significantly reduced in volume. We begin to sound the alarm when the antifreeze goes away much faster than it was before, that is, with the engine running correctly.

The following problems lead to coolant leakage:

  • damage to the expansion tank or its cap;
  • damage to pipes and hoses;
  • radiator distortion.

When such situations arise, the antifreeze evaporates very quickly. In this case, it is necessary to replace the damaged part with a new one. However, if replacing antifreeze on a Nissan Tiida is quite simple, then changing parts of the cooling system is more difficult.

How to replace antifreeze on a Nissan Tiida?

Many car owners have previously used ordinary water instead of antifreeze - these actions are considered erroneous, because water boils at a lower temperature than antifreeze, as a result, scale formed on the inner walls of the system elements. As a result, heat transfer deteriorated and engine parts also quickly wore out. Especially for these purposes, they created a coolant called antifreeze.

The replacement of antifreeze on the Nissan Tiida, Nissan Note and Nissan Latio models is carried out according to an identical algorithm, since the cooling systems and the location of components in the engine compartment are the same. Also, on these vehicles, the frequency of replacing the coolant is the same, because they use class G12 + coolant.

First antifreeze change Nissan vehicles Tiida must be carried out after 90,000 miles or after 60 months. It is also recommended to check the refrigerant every 15 thousand kilometers or 6 months. This procedure is necessary to control the quality of the coolant in order to replace it prematurely if necessary. The coolant loses its properties over time, if the replacement procedure is postponed, it will negatively affect the metal of the engine and its operation as a whole. After the first replacement of antifreeze, subsequent times it is recommended to change it every 30 thousand kilometers or 2 years.

Replacing the coolant is carried out in several stages:

  • Draining the old refrigerant;
  • Flushing the cooling system;
  • Filling with new antifreeze.

Stage one

Draining the old antifreeze is carried out in the following sequences:

  • Unscrew the plug at the bottom of the radiator;
  • Remove the radiator cap;
  • Drain the coolant.

Stage two

If there are signs of corrosion or scale, it is imperative to flush the cooling system, otherwise the remnants of dirt, rust and old fluid will cause the new antifreeze to lose its properties very quickly.

The flushing procedure is as follows:

  • We pour water into the radiator until we find a leak from the plug. After that, close the stub;
  • We twist the cap in the radiator (before that, pour water here);
  • We start power unit, we heat it to the optimum temperature;
  • Gently press the gas pedal (several times);
  • We stop the operation of the power unit and wait for the water in the system to cool;
  • Drain the liquid.

For flushing, any suitable liquid is suitable, which is diluted with distilled water. The wash solution can only be used for the first cleaning, subsequent cycles can be filled with distilled water. The procedure is repeated until the drained water is clean, usually 2-3 times.

Stage three

After cleaning the cooling system, you need to check the serviceability of all hoses and pipes, and if there is no damage, then you can start filling in new antifreeze.

New antifreeze is poured in as follows:

  • We install a reservoir with coolant and tighten the plugs on all drain necks;
  • Lubricate all plugs with sealant;
  • We unscrew the bypass valve;
  • Slowly pour antifreeze into the expansion tank to an acceptable value. Do not exceed the fill rate (more than two liters in one minute) to allow air to exit the system;
  • We start the power unit, heat it to the optimum operating temperature, then remove the cap from the radiator;
  • We leave the engine to run at a speed of up to 3000 per minute, for 10 seconds, then return to the standard ones and tighten the cap in the radiator;
  • We stop the engine and cool it to 50 degrees Celsius. Cooling with a fan
  • We fill the container to the maximum mark and check the system for leaks that occurred during the operation of the power unit;
  • The engine needs to be warmed up and check for the sounds of the circulating fluid, increasing the speed;
  • Now you need to wipe off excess antifreeze from the engine and close the hood.

When working with antifreeze, it is recommended to use rubber gloves and avoid contact with exposed skin, as the liquid is poisonous and causes chemical burns. If the refrigerant gets on the hands or other parts of the body, immediately wash the affected area with plenty of running water and consult a doctor.

Nissan Qashqai has a closed-type cooling system, with forced circulation of antifreeze in the system. For its normal functioning, it is necessary to monitor the condition of the coolant and replace it in time. How to change antifreeze for Qashqai with your own hands, see the photo report.

What antifreeze to fill and cost

Requirements for antifreeze - have a freezing point not higher than -40 ° C. With these parameters, you can purchase TJ produced by TCL LLC01243. The volume of the canister is 4 liters, the cost is 850 rubles. You can also purchase twice the amount of TCL LLC00857 for 450 rubles.

Depending on weather conditions, you can also purchase green coolant that does not freeze up to -50 ° C: TCL LLC33152, canister volume 1 liter and TCL LLC01229, canister volume 4 liters. The price of the first is 330 rubles, the second is 960 rubles.

Antifreeze concentrate, green from TCL "POWER COOLANT" PC2CG, long-acting. A two-liter canister will cost 960 rubles. For lovers of ecologists, Niagara antifreeze concentrate 001002001022 "G12 +" with a container of 1.5 liters is suitable. The cost is 500 rubles.

How to change antifreeze with your own hands

For work need:

  • pliers;
  • clean rag;
  • water for flushing the cooling system;
  • container for draining the old coolant (at least 10 l);
  • gloves;
  • new antifreeze.

Replacement instructions:

  1. We install the car on a viewing hole or overpass.
  2. Open the hood and unscrew the cap of the coolant reservoir. The coolant must only be changed when the engine is cold.
  3. We unscrew and remove the engine lockers.
  4. Using pliers, squeeze the hose clamp to the nozzle and slide it along the hose.
  5. Then, remove the hose from the pipe and drain the coolant from a previously prepared container. Caution, the coolant is toxic, so care must be taken when working with it.
  6. The engine cooling system needs to be flushed. To do this, install the hose on the pipe, pour water into the system through the expansion tank.
  7. We start the engine and let it run for 15-20 minutes until the fan turns on. When starting the engine, be sure to tighten the plug.
  8. We turn off the engine and drain the liquid again.
  9. We flush until clean water flows.
  10. We put the hose on the nozzle and fix it with a clamp.
  11. We fill the system with new coolant. It is allowed to use antifreeze only on the basis of ethylene glycol, the freezing point of which will not be higher than -40 ° C.
  12. We fill the coolant expansion tank to the “MAX” mark and tighten the plug.
  13. We warm up the engine to operating temperature. Then we turn it off, wait until it cools down and check the coolant level, if necessary, add it to the expansion tank to the “MAX” mark.

We are replacing antifreeze on a Nissan Qashqai car. Let the engine cool down.

We take a clean rag and unscrew the cap on the expansion tank. After the hissing sound disappears, finally remove the cover.

Before you start draining, remove the mudguards and protection, open all the bleed fittings of the cooling system. We unscrew the clamp on the lower pipe, disconnect it and drain the coolant into a previously prepared container.

... and fill the coolant into the expansion tank up to the MAX mark. In order for the system not to air, it is necessary to periodically squeeze the radiator hoses with your hand while pouring antifreeze.

Regular replacement of antifreeze is very important to keep your vehicle running optimally. Car manufacturers recommend changing antifreeze every 45,000 kilometers to avoid engine overheating. Many mechanics recommend changing antifreeze at least once a year to prevent corrosion, especially in vehicles with aluminum cylinder heads and radiators. However, this recommendation will soon become obsolete. Antifreeze manufacturers have launched a new generation of antifreeze on the market with a formula that, according to manufacturers, allows you to increase antifreeze replacement times up to 100,000 kilometers. Manufacturers warn that you need to fill in new antifreeze only in clean system. When mixed with conventional antifreeze, the anti-corrosion properties of the new antifreeze are significantly reduced.

The duration of antifreeze life depends on the content of anti-corrosion additives in it, such as silicates, phosphates and borates. As long as these substances are present in antifreeze, it does not need to be changed. But as soon as the amount of anti-corrosion agents is reduced, the engine and radiator undergo electrolytic corrosion. This is especially dangerous for engines with aluminum parts. With insufficient amounts of anti-corrosion agents in antifreeze and the right conditions, aluminum engine parts can quickly turn into Swiss cheese. That is why it is better to change antifreeze before corrosion processes have already begun.

One way to check if antifreeze needs to be changed is to test it with special test strips. These strips are offered by many antifreeze manufacturers. Upon contact with antifreeze, the strip changes color, by which, using a special scale, you can determine the state of the antifreeze and decide whether you need to change the antifreeze or not.

You can replace antifreeze yourself. To do this, choose a place away from pets and children. Antifreeze is toxic, so when working with it, you must follow strict safety measures. Do not drain antifreeze into rivers and streams, as well as near water sources (wells, pumps, etc.).

Antifreeze is changed on a cold engine. Changing antifreeze on a hot engine is dangerous. Locate the radiator cap and remove it. Next, find the radiator drain cap and open it by placing a large bucket under it. Drain antifreeze. After that, inspect the cooling system hoses for cracks and breaks. Change hoses if necessary.

Before adding new antifreeze, the system must be flushed to remove rust, grease, and deposits that water cannot remove. For flushing the system special means for washing. It is necessary to pour the entire bottle of product into the radiator and add deionized or demineralized water to the radiator and to the tank to the brim. Close covers.

The next step is to turn on the engine and heater to maximum and wait for the engine to warm up to operating temperature. After that, you need to turn off the engine and let it cool, then remove the caps from the radiator and drain the liquid.

After that, it is necessary to pour ordinary water into the system, close the covers and turn on the engine again for 15 minutes. Then again let the engine cool down completely and drain the water from the cooling system. Only after that you can fill in new antifreeze.

Fill with antifreeze in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The concentration of antifreeze in the system should not exceed 70%, and the optimal concentration is 50% antifreeze and 50% water. After pouring antifreeze, you need to turn on the engine and the heating in the cabin to the maximum so that the antifreeze is evenly distributed throughout the system, as well as to remove air bubbles from the cooling system. After a few days of driving, be sure to check the antifreeze level in the system and add antifreeze to the correct level if necessary.
