When is the audi a5 sportback coming out? The second incarnation of the Audi A5 Sportback

At the Paris Motor Show 2016, the world premiere of the second-generation Audi A5 Sportback premium hatchback took place.

Soon the novelty was put on the conveyor, and already at the beginning of 2017 the car appeared in the showrooms of both European and Russian dealers of the brand.

Exterior

Working on the design of the new 2017-2018 Audi A5 Sportback model, German experts tried to refresh the look of the hatchback. Significant changes were made to the exterior of the model, but in general the features of the car remained recognizable.

At the front, the new Audi A5 Sportback received a massive hexagonal grille with horizontal ribs and a large brand logo. The car has retained the signature squinted headlights, while it is worth noting that already in the base the liftback has full LED optics with daytime running lights.

The muscular hood with four pronounced edges also deserves attention. Thanks to all these elements, the Germans managed to create a very sporty and at the same time solid face, the drag coefficient of the car is 0.26.

In profile, the Audi A5 Sportback 2017 in a new body pleases the eye with swift body lines and a sloping roof that smoothly passes into the trunk lid. There are elegant stampings on the sidewalls, and the glass has a stylish chrome edging.

In addition, the rear hatchback received modern lights with LED filling and three-dimensional graphics, as well as a “double-barreled” exhaust system. The image is completed by light-alloy 17-inch wheels of the original design, “shod” in 225/50 tires, while eight different wheel options with a diameter of 18 and 19″ are available for an extra charge.

Salon

The interior of the new Audi A5 Sportback 2017-2018 turned out to be in many ways similar to the interior. It is comfortable and equipped with the latest technology. In particular, the model is equipped with a digital instrument panel, the 12.3-inch screen of which is located under a heavy visor, as well as an 8.3-inch tablet-like display of the MMI multimedia system.

For interior decoration, the Germans used only high-quality materials. The interior of the liftback uses natural and artificial leather, wood, aluminum, carbon fiber and, of course, soft plastic. There are several finishing options themselves, which means that the interior can be ordered both in light and dark versions. The sporty atmosphere is provided by a truncated steering wheel and comfortable seats with a well-thought-out profile.

The new generation of the Audi A5 Sportback 2 turned out to be slightly larger than its predecessor, which made it possible to make the interior more spacious. For example, free space in the shoulder area has increased by 11 mm, and legroom for rear passengers by 24 mm.

Despite the increase in size, this five-door is still not a car for a family, since there is not as much space on the second row as we would like. Formally, the rear sofa is designed for three people, but adults will be uncomfortable. If you put a child there in a chair, then he will reach with his feet to the backs of the front seats, soiling them.

Characteristics

Built on the MLB Evo platform, the new 2018 Audi A5 Sportback measures 4733mm, 1843mm and 1386mm in length, width and height respectively. The distance between the axles of the car is 2824 millimeters.

The second generation model turned out to be slightly larger than its predecessor, but at the same time it weighs noticeably less. Depending on the configuration, the curb weight of the hatchback varies from 1,535 to 1,675 kg. Thus, some versions were 85 kg lighter than the first generation machines.

By default, the trunk volume of the Audi A5 Sportback 2017 is 480 liters, but it can be increased up to 1,300 liters due to the back of the rear sofa, which folds in a 40:20:40 ratio. The trunk lid is equipped with an electric drive, and as an option, it can even be “taught” to open using gestures.

The new Audi A5 hatchback is equipped with an independent multi-link suspension. Ventilated disc brakes are installed on the wheels at the front, and disc brakes at the rear.

In the Russian market, the five-door is offered with a 2.0-liter TFSI turbo four. Depending on the forcing, it develops either 190 hp. and 320 Nm, or 249 forces and 370 Nm. In addition, the A5 Sportback can be ordered with a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.

All motors work in conjunction with a seven-speed S tronic robot with two clutches. The car with a 190-horsepower gasoline unit has a front-wheel drive, the rest are equipped with a proprietary Quattro all-wheel drive system.

Sportback A5 has an elegant and emotional design, combining high functionality and comfort. The body design of the liftback, like the coupe, is replete with sharp edges, the sporty front end has a “sharp look” of front optics, a strict bumper, punching, a pointed, wider radiator grille than on the previous model. In general, the appearance of the previous model is recognizable. The side view distinguishes the Sportback with a graceful curved window sill line, and pronounced wheel arches emphasize the all-wheel drive qualities of the car. At the rear, the elongated trunk line turns into a kind of spoiler, the lining at the bottom of the bumper is painted in body color, emphasizing the width of the body, the taillights have become narrower, they are combined with thin “strokes” of brake lights at the bottom of the bumper and a thin brake light line at the top edge rear window in its entire width. The car is 21mm longer and 11mm narrower than the previous generation.

The new second-generation A5 platform is lighter due to the use of light alloys and metals, and the vehicle's base weight has been reduced accordingly. The new car has the lowest drag coefficient in the class - 0.25. The automaker offers two performance lines - Sport and Design. Depending on the equipment, the A5 Sportback is available in either matt gray (Sport equipment) or dark titanium black (Design equipment).

The interior boasts high build quality and practicality. Optionally, 30 lighting options are offered, creating the necessary mood. The horizontal architecture of the dashboard creates a feeling of spaciousness. Audi revolutionized its mid-size car class in 2007 with the introduction of the new coupe to the public. The Ingolstadt-based automaker has created a work of art that instantly captivated brand fans around the world. Nine years have passed, another important milestone has appeared in the history of Audi, the renewal of the model, the debut of the second generation, marked by excellent appearance and technical excellence. The new generation of the A5 Coupe is athletic, sporty and elegant. The exterior design goes hand in hand with sophisticated, well-thought-out aerodynamics. Beneath the aluminum panels, the A5 is able to impress the observer with its latest chassis, powerful engines, innovative infotainment features and driver assistance systems.

How can a masterpiece design be improved? Audi designers have been wrestling with this question for years. The result is impressive: the new one now sports a fresh, modern and highly thought-out design. This statement is also true regarding the sporty and at the same time elegant character of the car, which was transferred to the new version of the two-door from its predecessor.

The most striking example of the updated design can be considered three-dimensional stampings on the sides of the car, they almost instantly and most of all attract the eye while getting to know the car. These lines were also characteristic of the previous model, but they were not emphasized in the first generation.

The surprisingly balanced proportions of the body with a long bonnet, stretched wheelbase and short overhangs emphasize the sporty character of the new A5 Coupe. The sculpted single grille is vertically narrower and wider at the same time compared to the grille version on the previous model. and optional LED or Matrix LED lighting fixtures use the latest high-end dynamic turn signal technology.

Audi A5 Coupe engine range

The new Audi A5 Coupe will initially be launched with a range of five engines: with two petrol TFSI and three diesel TDI engines. Engine power has increased significantly and now their values \u200b\u200bare located between 187 and 268 hp. Compared to the previous model, the new ones are 17% more efficient and as much as 22% more economical. All engines combine high performance with sporty performance and smooth operation, especially the two 3.0 TDI six-cylinder engines.

On the other hand, the engineers took care of the lovers of gasoline engines. 3.0 TFSI was literally reinvented. V6 showed high efficiency on the stands and confirmed it on the test site. With it, the coupe responds more sharply to pressing the accelerator pedal and begins to behave in a sporty way. From three liters, the supercharged six-cylinder “removes” 350 hp from the shaft. smooth. This is 18 hp. more than on the previous generation model.

Audi A5 transmission

The new Audi A5 Coupe will come with a customized transmission solution for each engine option. A manual six-speed gearbox and a seven-speed S-Tronic automatic will be used with the four-cylinder engines, as well as the 215bhp 3.0-litre TDI in front- or all-wheel drive. The eight-speed Tiptronic variant is reserved for the top diesel 268 horsepower engine and the engine for the S5. Both motors come standard with a proprietary all-wheel drive system. Audi also optionally offers a sporty rear axle for even more dynamic driving and precise handling.

For the first time on the A5, the Quattro drive is available with Ultra technology. The all-wheel drive system developed for Audi's longitudinal engine models can now be fitted to the A5 with four-cylinder TFSI and TDI engines and manual transmissions. The drive system optimized for efficiency does not show any perceptible difference in terms of traction and driving dynamics.

Chassis A5 Coupe

The latest chassis is one of the advantages of the Audi A5 coupe. It offers the driver optimum comfort combined with high agility and safety. The A5 will perform equally well on mountain serpentines and high-speed autobahn trips. The new Audi has adjustable shock absorbers, unfortunately as an option for now. They (adjustable shock absorbers) are included in the driving dynamics system known as Audi Drive Select (ADS), which allows the driver to change the main characteristics of the vehicle's components and systems in many ways.

Electromechanical power steering is another new development from Audi. It automatically adjusts according to the current vehicle speed and provides highly accurate feedback from the steering wheel to the wheels. Optionally available dynamic, which changes the gear ratio depending on the speed and steering angle. It won't be cheap, but as they say, it's worth it.

The body of the new Audi

The Audi A5 Coupe has every chance of being a much more efficient car on the road than its predecessor. This is due in large part to the reduction in weight as well as the optimization of aerodynamics. The engineers managed to reduce the weight by 60 kilograms. Through the use and intelligent combination of light and rigid materials and a significant reduction in weight. The body of the A5 Coupe has become the lightest in its competitive environment.

It is controlled by the MMI with a turn-and-push button. Its surface is touch sensitive. The touch panel of the display itself is used to enter characters and control, it supports multi-touch gestures, which of course is useful, for example, for scaling the map. The MMI control logic is similar to that of a smartphone.

Driver assistance systems

The intelligent combination of various technologies enhances the safety, comfort and efficiency of the new Audi A5 Coupe. Looking to the future, Audi does not forget to take steps in the direction. A5 was the next step towards this. A wide range of innovative driver assistance systems sets the standard in the segment. Compared to the previous model, almost all systems and functions are either completely new or updated.

Electronic systems help the driver save fuel, Lane Assist keeps the car on the lane, Stop & Go adaptive cruise control includes an active cruise control function for traffic jams.

Important ones include parking assistance systems, traffic tracking behind the car, Exit Warning, collision avoidance assistant and other important updates. The traffic sign recognition system with the help of a camera closes the line.

New trim levels open up a wide range of options for customizing the car, both for the interior and for the exterior. In addition to the design of the base model, there are also sporty and designer lines. The S-Line sports package will make the standard A5 almost identical to the S5, both inside and out.

Audi S5 Coupe

Brief information about the sports version of the Audi S5 Coupe. The dynamic performance of the car, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 4.7 seconds. Appearance with an additional sports body kit combines elegance and attractive aristocratic features with an admixture of unbridled power. Every detail of the exterior and interior of the S-Line is imbued with speed and dynamics.

A newly developed turbocharged V6 engine provides this power. It produces 260 kW (354 hp) and consumes only 7.3 liters of fuel per 100 km (according to official statements from Ingolstadt).

For the rest, this coupe will speak for itself on the drag strip.

Audi has never, perhaps, made obscure, gray cars aimed at the "average consumer." Even at the dawn of its existence, in the 30s of the last century, Saxon cars with four rings on the radiator grill were the lot of wealthy and self-confident buyers. After all, the company produced not utilitarian small cars, but expensive and technically very advanced sports cars by the standards of the first half of the 20th century.

The racing team of the Auto UnionRennabteilung factory repeatedly became the winner and prize-winner of various grand prix of those times, seriously competing with the team of another legendary car brand from Germany - Daimler-Benz AG, often winning not only due to the skill of the pilots, but also because of the use in the production of racing machines of the most advanced technologies at that time. Suffice it to say that the power of the engines installed on Audi cars reached 300-350 horsepower already in the thirties, and in 1937 an engine was installed on a racing car that developed 560 l / s at 2500 rpm.

Powered by the famous Auto Union typ C rally car, which boasted superb aerodynamics and unsurpassed futuristic design, this engine set a world record breaking the 400 km/h mark. This is despite the fact that the maximum speed of the Junkers 87 dive bomber, which first took to the skies a year later, was only 350 km / h! In total, the pilots who drove Audi sports cars won more than a hundred different awards at the most prestigious European and world tournaments. It was the developments of the specialists of the German concern that became the basis for the design and construction of the legendary Soviet car Sokol-650.

Many decades have passed since that time, the war died down, during which everyone had no time for sports cars, AUDI production sites were destroyed by bombing and rebuilt, and in the sixties the company was completely absorbed by the auto giant Volkswagen. One thing remained unchanged all this time - interesting, powerful, advanced and expensive cars continued to come out of the assembly lines of the plant. With the exception of the first models, which were aimed at poor post-war West Germany, all post-war AUDIs were supposed to appeal to consumers with a sufficient level of income, offering high quality, comfort, attractive design and high speed performance.

Audi designers continued to be at the forefront of progress, and almost every new model was distinguished by the presence of technical innovations in the design. It was on the cars of the Saxon manufacturer that the full galvanization of the body, quattro all-wheel drive technology, five-cylinder engines, turbochargers, direct injection and other technical solutions were first used, without which it is difficult to imagine modern automotive industry. And the Quattro GmbH subsidiary, which has survived to this day under the name Audi Sport GmbH, enriched the global automotive industry with the use of a valveless rotary engine and the release of a mid-engine all-wheel drive sports car. It is no exception in terms of the use of advanced technologies and the Audi A5 Sportback 2017 test drive model of which is presented below.

Tradition of antiquity deep.

The first two-doors with rings on the grille rolled off the assembly line before World War II, in 1934, with the release of the Audi Typ UW. True, these were cars with a convertible or roadster body, not a coupe. These cars were quite typical representatives of their era - 2.3-liter in-line six-cylinder four-stroke engines developed 50 horsepower, allowing them to accelerate to 105 km / h and consuming 14 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. These overhead valve engines were paired with four-speed manual gearboxes. In 1938, the production of these models was discontinued.

The first real AUDI coupe was the post-war Auto Union 1000 Sp Coupe, released in 1958 in a small series, and the stylish Audi 100 Coupe S, first presented at the Frankfurt auto show in 1969, began to be in real demand. The coupe received a stylish design, reminiscent of the creations of the European leaders in the automotive industry of that time - the Italians.

In technical terms, it was quite a typical car for the late sixties - a 1.9-liter in-line engine, 112 horsepower, a four-speed "mechanics" or a three-speed automatic as an option. In many respects, the German coupe resembled the Ford Capri, which was popular in those years. This model was discontinued in 1976.

The next two-door model was truly revolutionary, introduced in 1980 by the Audi quattro coupe, the first sign that marked the beginning of the era of all-wheel drive sports cars. The popularity of this model led to the fact that a more affordable coupe version soon appeared, featuring front-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive.

With the change in platform in 1988, a new two-door model appeared. New engines made the car even more dynamic and fast - 115 horsepower for a two-liter engine and 170 horsepower for a 2.3-liter version. Even more impressive were the characteristics of a turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 2200 "cubes" - 220 horsepower, top speed - 246 mph, acceleration to the first hundred in 5.8 seconds.

This coupe was produced until 1996, after which cars with this type of body did not leave the assembly line of AUDI factories for eleven whole years. Only in 2007, when models began to be produced on the new MLB platform, the first two-door cars in this millennium with four rings on the hood appeared - the AUDI A5 coupe. A kind of compensation for such a long break was equipping the model with a powerful engine. The eight-cylinder 4.2-liter engine developed 354 l / s at peak power. But this seemed not enough, and in 2009 a modified engine with a capacity of as much as 450 horsepower was introduced.

First meeting.

The design of the 2017 Audi A51 presented for a test drive can be called somewhat controversial, but certainly not boring. Yes, there is some “elongation” of the somewhat rounded nose of the car, which is not quite in harmony with the sharpened, swift forms of the silhouette. But one can immediately see the superbly polished continuity of the new sportback, the design of which, according to the assurances of the AUDI employees responsible for the exterior, was developed in accordance with the spirit of Gran Turismo.

The main design message is not even speed, but the swiftness and power of the new car. Despite its far from retro styling, the new coupe evokes thoughts of seventies muscle cars: a long engine bay, a wedge-shaped, even somewhat beak-shaped hood, and a lowered grille line. The impression is also enhanced by the shape of the bumpers, or rather, the characteristic side cutouts of the front ones. However, designers have not forgotten about aerodynamics. The drag coefficient of the new German two-door is 0.25.

The interior of the Audi A5 that went for a test drive is almost the same as that installed on Audi cars of the previous generation. Indeed, why radically rework an almost perfect and absolutely not outdated design? The only differences seen are a thinner handlebar, different pedals and new seats that are a little sportier. It has already become traditional to place climate control buttons, a navigator, and other electronics, of which there are many in the A5, on wide concave steering wheel spokes.

The use of LCD panels instead of traditional analog devices does not seem to be something particularly innovative. The driver can choose from a variety of virtual instrument configurations to their liking, just like a range of seat or steering column settings.

The spaciousness and layout of the cabin do not cause any complaints - even the rear seats are very comfortable and allow passengers to sit comfortably, providing enough free space both in the legs and overhead. The profile of the rear sofa and the location of the armrests are also convenient. By the way, the buttons for controlling the mechanism of the front seats are located, in addition to the pillow, also at the end of the seat back. This allows rear passengers to get out of their seats without assistance. The driver's seat in its ergonomics is beyond praise. Even such, at first glance, small details have been thought out, such as the location of the control buttons for fine-tuning the chair and the keys responsible for selecting the massage mode.

The climate control is interesting. The climate control sensors are able to recognize the approach of the driver's finger even before he touches the key, and rush to display prompts for easier control.

The use of exclusively high-quality materials also contributes to the exterior of the cabin. Yes, and there are no complaints about the assembly - everything is made and adjusted, as always, to the highest standard. With this, the “fifth series” is doing great.

Trunk volume of 465 liters can not be called uncapacious, especially considering that we are not talking about a utilitarian family station wagon, but about a coupe with a sporty character. By the way, a very original innovation has appeared - now you can open the trunk even with your hands full of luggage - it’s enough to lightly kick the car under the bumper. The back of the rear sofa is made divided into three independently folding in the proportion of 40:20:40. departments.

In the native element.

No matter how comfortable the interior of the new German coupe is, the main function of this car is fast, high-speed driving. The unexpectedly soft start of the turbocharged three-liter engine brings an indescribable sound to the cabin. Those who watched the video before testing the Audi A5 can immediately say that even the best recording does not convey this pleasant, light, but surprisingly voluminous sound. Three hundred and forty-five horsepower do not climb into the ears, creating at the same time an indescribable feeling of power. And how this powerful unit works in tandem with an eight-speed automatic transmission and branded all-wheel drive ...

The moment of the beginning of the movement, the smoothness and softness of the acceleration impress even the most experienced driver. The new coupe is distinguished by an excellent response to manipulations with the gas pedal, smooth and without delay switching of the “machine”, and silence in the cabin at any speed.

Even at around 200 km / h, the loudest sound that the AUDI A5 makes is the sound of a working climate control system. The car holds a straight line remarkably, and it doesn’t give up when cornering - the steering is distinguished by excellent clarity and sufficient information content, without, however, forcing you to feel every bump in the road surface. By the way, the standard Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 tires do an excellent job of keeping the car securely within the trajectory chosen by the driver and not making too much noise even at high speeds.

The power of the V6 engine is enough to accelerate a one and a half ton car to one hundred kilometers per hour in 4.7 seconds. The engine does not need to be “revved” to high rpm to achieve maximum power. The petrol turbo engine produces 354 hp. and 500 N∙m already at 1370 rpm.

The suspension has two modes of operation - "comfort" and "speaker". The first one, as the name implies, serves to ensure the maximum possible smoothness and softness of the car, and seems especially relevant when trains are on roads with insufficient quality coverage.

The second makes the Audi coupe more collected and resilient, but without excessive rigidity, and is relevant for active high-speed driving on good roads.

The Audi A5 variant with a two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine does not seem to be a poor relative against the background of its three-liter “big brother”. Yes, its acceleration characteristics are somewhat more modest - it exchanges the first hundred cars in 5.8 seconds. But otherwise, the A5 2.0 TFSI is in no way inferior. The seven-speed S-tronic shifts a little harder but also a little faster than the eight-speed automatic, the engine sound is sharper but still very pleasant, and the active rear differential allows you to fit into sharp turns perfectly. Of course, the difference of more than a hundred "horses" is felt, but not enough to spoil the impression of the AUDI A5 2.0 TFSI even after getting to know the three-liter version.

The two remaining models of the line are distinguished by the presence of diesel engines, four- and six-cylinder. These two engines, despite the common type of fuel, differ from each other in almost everything else.

The biggest plus of the four-cylinder version is its efficiency. The 190-horsepower TDI is content with only nine liters of fuel per hundred kilometers, while its two-liter petrol counterpart burns at least fifteen, and the three-liter "six" consumes at least 20 liters.

The payoff for high efficiency is not only more modest acceleration and maximum speed. The diesel “four” is noticeably noisier both in motion and at idle, and the S tronic works with it in a pair more harshly than on the gasoline version.

Another thing is the V6 3.0 TDI engine. Two hundred and eighty-six horsepower, 620 Nm already at one and a half thousand revolutions, and almost the same behavior on the road as the three-liter gasoline version - there are enough dynamics, and the suspension works perfectly, and the sound of the engine is very pleasant - not noise, but a voice . Fuel consumption, of course, is higher than that of the "little brother" - 11 liters per hundred - but much more modest than that of both gasoline versions. Unfortunately, cars with three-liter engines will not be delivered to the Russian market yet - the top management of Audi plans to supply only four-cylinder versions.

Technique on the verge of fantasy.

As pretentious as the title sounds, there is not an ounce of flattery or sarcasm in it.

Acquaintance with the data on the technical stuffing of the AUDI A5 is no less impressive than the test drive of the Audi A5 sportback video of which can be easily found on the net.

The new Audi is based on an upgraded MBL platform called the MBL evo. This platform is multi-purpose – sedans, coupes, crossovers, cars with an extended body are designed on its basis, and AUDI specialists do not plan to switch to a new platform yet. The engine is traditionally located in front, longitudinally, and is paired with a robotic or automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. Both the front and rear suspensions are independent springs.

Front - on two transverse levers, rear - traditional multi-link. The front suspension subframe is bimetallic, divided in two. The front part is made of aluminum, the steering mechanism is attached to it. The back is steel, it will accommodate levers made of the same material.

Suspension shock absorbers - electronically controlled, with three modes of operation - Dynamic, Auto and Comfort. Each mode has a unique combination of handling, stiffness and steering response. Dynamic is characterized by rigidity, precise control, minimization of rolls and quick response to the steering wheel. Comfort softens the character of the car and is designed for long trips, while Auto mode is the middle between the sportiness of the dynamic mode and the softness of the comfortable one.

Front brakes - disc, ventilated for all machines of the line. The rear brakes are not ventilated in the front-wheel drive Audi A5 2.0 TD, in the Audi S5 3.0 TFSI quattro, as in the Audi A5 2.0 TFSI quattro, ventilated brakes are also installed at the rear.

The body is assembled from a combination of heat-strengthened steel, cold-formed steel and aluminum - cast, sheet and profiled. This choice of materials makes it quite light and at the same time quite rigid. The new frame weighs 15 kg lighter than the previous one, and in general the car “lost” by as much as 60 kg, despite the fact that it has become longer and wider than its predecessor, and the upper spars are designed to be reinforced, in order to successfully pass the crash test according to the American IIHS system developed by the Insurance Institute of Highway security in 2009. By the way, the car body has a record drag coefficient in its class - only 0.23 units. True, this result was recorded only for the 2.0 TDI ultra turbodiesel version with an additional aluminum bottom screen installed as an option.

The gasoline engine is an upgraded EA888 model known for certain technical problems in the past. Then, for a part of AUDI cars, excessive oil consumption was characteristic, and the engineers had to work hard, looking for the cause and ways to eliminate it. The problems were eliminated, the power was increased to 252 horsepower, and the fuel economy compared to the previous version is, according to the assurances of the developers, up to 15 percent.

The diesel engine with a working volume of 2967 cm³ is distinguished by the presence of two versions - with a capacity of 218 and 286 "horses", as well as a high-tech turbocharger with variable geometry "similar technology is used in the engines of modern passenger aircraft."

The maximum boost pressure is from 2.6 to 3.3 atmospheres.

The automatic transmission is no different from the one that was installed on the models of the previous Audi line. The robotic seven-speed S tronik was subjected to changes. The robot has become lighter, the clutch packs, odd and even, arranged one behind the other, are now the same size, unlike previous versions. In Es-tronic, installed on the all-wheel drive version, i.e., in all A-fifths, except for the 1.9-liter diesel engine, the Torsen center differential is also built in.

Perfect balance. instead of an epilogue.

In general, the car turned out to be very balanced. Sportiness does not cause any inconvenience to passengers, who can be very comfortable even in the back seat, or, even more so, to the driver. This is facilitated by an excellent variable suspension that can cope with road irregularities encountered on the way, excellent sound insulation and a comfortable, very spacious interior for this type of body.

The trunk also does not seem overly compact, and boarding and disembarking from the rear seats is facilitated not only by wide doorways, but also by the presence of regulation of the front seats at the end of the backs.

At the same time, the Audi A5, especially equipped with “senior”, six-cylinder engines, behaves very collectedly at high speeds, starts briskly, enters corners perfectly and is not afraid of bold maneuvers, and the ventilated brakes do not heat up even when driving actively in the mountains. serpentine." Versions with four cylinders somewhat lose to the six-cylinder "big brothers" in acceleration and top speed, but do not leave a feeling of lack of power. The all-wheel drive system also shows itself perfectly, “turning” the car in sharp turns, making maneuvering easier and safer. And the gearbox - both automatic and "robot" - perfectly copes with its tasks, both at high speed and in a quiet mode of movement. In the case of active driving, the box does not give noticeable gear shift delays, and in urban mode it shifts them gently, without unnecessary jerks annoying the driver.

The “smart” suspension also works out well, the presets of which are enough for comfortable passage of uneven areas, and for high autobahn speeds, and for normal daily use.

You can't blame the AUDI coupe for its boring design. One can argue for a long time how successful the use of the “de Silva wave” and the curved elongated hood is, whether it was necessary to replace the analog dashboard with an electronic imitation, and whether chopped headlight shapes are kitsch. One thing can be said with certainty - by no means can it be called unoriginal appearance of the new Audi.

All of the above makes this car capable of delivering a lot of driving pleasure without creating inconvenience even for passengers in the back seat, and excellent brakes, an abundance of modern security systems, proper body rigidity and all-wheel drive make it safe to operate even in case of unforeseen situations.
