GAZon NEXT is a new model of medium-duty trucks designed by the specialists of the Gorky Automobile Plant and presented to the general public in the fall of 2014. In the GAZ line, the car should replace the 3309 model, which will be discontinued in the near future.

The truck received a galvanized steel cab with a sloping hood, a metal bumper in which fog lights are integrated, high-strength plastic fenders and a plastic radiator grille with horizontal slats. The original image is complemented by a stylish head optics with a single block of daytime running lights and direction indicators.

GAZon NEXT is produced with two types of cabins: single-row three-seater and two-row seven-seater. The interior of the car cabin as a whole repeats the GAZelle NEXT and is distinguished by a higher-quality finish and well-thought-out ergonomics. In a two-row modification, a rear folding sofa can be installed, which transforms into a berth, so that the car can be used for long-distance cargo transportation.

GAZon NEXT is built on a solid two-axle platform with a steel frame. The vehicle has a rear axle drive provided by a maintenance-free DANA Spicer cardan transmission. The truck is equipped with a leaf spring suspension with retractable hydraulic shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar. The wheels of the car are equipped with disc brakes with pneumatic drive and anti-lock braking system. Precise steering is provided by the integral ZF power steering mechanism.

Under the hood of the truck is one of two power units: YaMZ-534 or Cummins ISF. The first is a four-cylinder turbodiesel with charge air cooler and direct fuel injection system. The 4.43-liter engine produces 136 hp. and 420 Nm of torque in the range from 1200 to 2100 rpm. Cummins ISF - four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with charge air cooler and direct fuel injection system. The 3.76-liter power unit produces 153 hp. and 497 Nm of torque at 1200-2600 rpm. Both engines are aggregated with a five-speed manual transmission. Power units are designed to meet the requirements of the fourth environmental class (Euro-4).

GAZon NEXT is available in the following modifications: chassis/flatbed truck with a single or double cab on a short (3.77-meter) or extended (4.515-meter) base; truck tractor for road trains with gross weight up to 12 tons. In total, due to the ease of installation of special add-ons, more than 200 different options for special equipment can be created.

The design features of the truck with a short base allow you to overcome 30-degree entrances and 18-degree exits. On a flat track with a full load, the car is capable of speeds up to 100 kilometers per hour. The carrying capacity of the GAZon NEXT has increased by 0.5 tons and now stands at 5 tons.

Thanks to modern technical solutions and a scrupulous choice of suppliers of parts, the manufacturer managed to achieve the highest level of car reliability, which resulted in the best warranty service offer in the class - three years or 150 thousand kilometers. The recommended service interval has doubled - up to 20 thousand kilometers. In addition, the cost of operating the GAZon NEXT has decreased by 12-17 percent compared to its predecessor.


The basic equipment of the truck consists of 20 or 17.5-inch wheels (for universal or urban use, respectively), traction control, adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support and adjustable steering wheel, air conditioning, heater and audio preparation. The cost of the car starts from 1 million 80 thousand rubles (in the version of the chassis) or from 1 million 115 thousand rubles (in the version of a flatbed truck).


GAZon NEXT has already become the third model from the NEXT line, released by the Gorky Automobile Plant in 2014: earlier, a cargo-and-passenger GAZelle NEXT with a two-row cab and a 19-seater passenger minibus rolled off the assembly line.
