Recipe for lazy dumplings with cottage cheese and semolina

Semolina, which we have to add to the presented variation of lazy dumplings, is essentially the same wheat flour, except that it has a coarser grind. Once upon a time it was considered almost the main dish of a child's diet, so many of us carried through life not the love for its sticky and not tasty lumps.

Now pediatricians are now disappointed in the beneficial properties of semolina for the child’s body, declaring that it is heavy on the stomach and has an almost complete absence of beneficial substances in its composition. But in cooking it has found active use. Due to the property of semolina to swell well, any dish prepared on its basis, not excluding lazy dumplings, turns out soft and fluffy.

Required ingredients:

  • 0.5 kg of cottage cheese (if you take low-fat cottage cheese, reduce the calorie content of the dish);
  • 0.25 kg of semolina (before you start cooking with it, check the quality of the cereal, insects are partial to it);
  • 100 g flour;
  • 2 cold eggs;
  • ½ tbsp. granulated sugar;
  • salt.

Cooking procedure lazy dumplings with cottage cheese and semolina:

  1. Grind cottage cheese with eggs and sugar. If we want to end up with a homogeneous mass, we can first grind it through a strainer.
  2. Lightly add curd mixture, add semolina, mix thoroughly and leave for 30 minutes. in the refrigerator.
  3. Add flour and knead by hand. The result should be a dough that only slightly sticks to your palms.
  4. For convenience, we divide the mass into several parts, form a rope from each, and cut into shaped pieces.
  5. Boil in salted water.
  6. Before serving, top with your favorite jam, a mixture of sour cream and jam, honey or any other sweet topping.

If your soul requires creativity, then you can give the “sloths” an original shape by cutting them from a thinly rolled out layer of dough using a cookie cutter, a vodka glass, and forming them into little balls.

Lazy dumplings with cottage cheese for children, just like in kindergarten

Many people know lazy dumplings as one of the most favorite dishes on the kindergarten menu. But not everyone can reproduce that never-forgotten taste of childhood. The secret is simple: you need to use strictly low-fat cottage cheese (the fat content mark on the package should be below 9%), excellent quality flour and a little vanilla.

Lazy dumplings are recommended for children due to the large amount of cottage cheese in their composition. This ingredient contains a large amount of calcium, but in its pure form, even when ground with jam or fresh fruit, you won’t get kids to eat it. While the tender boiled dumplings in the kindergarten are devoured by the children for their dear soul.

To make the dough stick better and become more tender, we recommend choosing fine-grained cottage cheese or grinding it through a sieve. However, this manipulation will increase the cooking time.

Required ingredients:

  • 0.6 kg cottage cheese;
  • 2 non-cold fresh eggs;
  • 200 g flour;
  • 50 g granulated sugar;
  • 50 g butter;
  • vanilla, salt.

The calorie content of a dish depends on its ingredients; if we take average indicators, we get approximately 1300 kcal for the specified amount of food, which is a little more than 400 kcal per serving.

Cooking steps kindergarten lazy dumplings:

  1. Break the eggs into the cottage cheese, grind thoroughly, add salt, sugar and vanilla. Mix again and set aside for a while.
  2. Before use, sift the flour, mix with the sweet curd mass, stir until smooth, obtaining a fairly tight dough.
  3. For convenience, divide the dough into several parts. We form each into a sausage, rolling it out on a clean work surface or a floured cutting board.
  4. We cut each of the sausages into arbitrary pieces and immediately send them to boil in salted boiling water, or show a little imagination and form them into funny shapes (hearts, leaves, etc.).
  5. During the cooking process, carefully stir the dumplings constantly, trying not to damage them and at the same time to prevent them from sticking to the bottom. After the liquid boils again, remove the finished dumplings using a slotted spoon. Do not overcook them, otherwise you will get a completely unappetizing, shapeless mass.

How to cook lazy dumplings with cottage cheese and potatoes

For lovers of unsweetened dumplings, for example, with cottage cheese or potatoes, we offer a compromise “lazy” option that combines both of these fillings. It will come in handy if there is some mashed potatoes left over from yesterday's dinner.

Required ingredients:

  • 5 medium-sized potato tubers;
  • 0.2 kg cottage cheese;
  • 2 cold eggs;
  • 100 g flour;
  • 100 g starch;
  • 2 onions.

Cooking steps cottage cheese and potato “sloths”:

  1. Boil the peeled potatoes and mash them into a puree.
  2. Break the eggs, separating the whites from the yolks. Beat the first ones, and add the second ones to the potatoes.
  3. Add sifted starch and flour to the puree, as well as low-fat cottage cheese. Mix thoroughly and add the whites. Knead the dough by hand.
  4. Finely chop the onions and fry them in vegetable oil.
  5. Divide the dough into parts, form each into a sausage, and cut into pieces.
  6. Boil the preparations in salted boiling water, take out the floating “sloths” with a slotted spoon and pour onion frying, sprinkle with herbs.

How to make lazy dumplings without eggs

For one reason or another, some people do not eat eggs, but this is not a reason to refuse a hearty dish. Moreover, without eggs it becomes even softer and more tender. True, you will not need dry cottage cheese, but rather moist and oily cottage cheese. For added spice, you can add vanilla and cinnamon.

Required ingredients:

  • 0.5 kg of cottage cheese;
  • 60 g starch;
  • 150 g flour;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • a pinch of salt.

Cooking procedure eggless lazy dumplings:

  1. Pour all ingredients into a deep bowl. We adjust the amount of flour at our own discretion. To get a more airy version, take 100 g of this product; 150 g will yield denser sloths.
  2. Mix the above ingredients thoroughly by hand. At first, due to the lack of wet ingredients, this will not be easy to do, but gradually the starch and flour will interfere and dissolve in the cottage cheese, then our mass will acquire plasticity. On average, this stage takes about 5 minutes.
  3. We form balls from the resulting mass, throw them into salted boiling water, cook in parts, so that the “sloths” float freely, otherwise they will stick together.
  4. Stir occasionally (a couple of times during the entire cooking time) and boil without a lid.
  5. Serve with traditional toppings or sliced fruit.

Dietary lazy dumplings

It may seem to you that dumplings with cottage cheese in any variation are harmful to your figure. But if you show a little ingenuity, then it is quite possible to prepare this yummy without using flour or semolina. 100 g of lazy dumplings we offer contains only 210 kcal. You can eat them and not worry about the safety of your figure.

Required ingredients:

  • 0.2 kg of cottage cheese with zero fat content;
  • 1 egg;
  • 6 tbsp. Hercules;
  • 50 g sugar.

Cooking steps lazy dumplings for losing weight:

  1. When buying cottage cheese, pay attention to its fat content, otherwise you won’t get anything dietary. The grainy product should first be ground through a sieve or ground with a blender; the tenderness of the dish directly depends on the curd consistency.
  2. Beat the egg into the cottage cheese and add the rolled oats crushed in a coffee grinder to flour. We advise you to take note that such oat flour can replace traditional wheat flour in many dishes, reducing their calorie content.
  3. At the initial stage of kneading, we use a spoon, which we then set aside and do everything manually.
  4. Pinch off a small piece of dough, form it into balls, which we cook in salted boiling water, stirring occasionally. The cooking process usually takes up to 3 minutes.
  5. As a topping, you can use low-fat sour cream, low-calorie yogurt, as well as fresh fruits (bananas, peaches, apples) or berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries).

As you can see, the dish prepared according to this recipe has practically no high-calorie components, except eggs. “Harmful” products have been successfully replaced with healthier and lighter products.

  1. Adding a small amount of cream to the dough will make it more airy.
  2. Even if you are very lazy to do this, you should still sift the flour.
  3. Carry out the cooking process in a large amount of water, so that the “sloths” float freely. This rule is the same for all flour products: pasta, dumplings, pasta, dumplings.
  4. To prevent ready-made dumplings from sticking together, immediately add butter or sour cream when transferring them to a plate.
  5. By cutting out various figures from a rolled out sheet of dough, we get a fun children's version of lazy dumplings.
  6. When preparing sloths for breakfast, add fresh berries to them.
  7. By melting a little butter in a frying pan and frying the cooled lazy dumplings in it, you will return their amazing taste.
  8. To reduce flour consumption, squeeze the cottage cheese well before using.
  9. Choose fresh cottage cheese without sourness. Neither sugar nor jam can hide the stale curd acid.

Option 1: Classic recipe for lazy dumplings

There are so many recipes for lazy dumplings that it is impossible to count them. But most options are based on a combination of cottage cheese and semolina. And this is not just like that. The cereal does not have a pronounced taste, it swells well, does not interrupt the cottage cheese, does not allow it to spread, and helps maintain the shape of the dumplings.

Ingredients

  • 350 g cottage cheese 9%;
  • 45 g semolina;
  • medium-sized chicken egg;
  • 35 g sweet cream butter 72%;
  • 2 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
  • 4 tbsp. l. any flour.

How to cook classic lazy dumplings

If you want to make dumplings according to all the rules, then wipe the cottage cheese. If you don’t have time for this, and the dish itself is lazy, then simply mix the product with egg, sand, and semolina. Add a spoonful of oil.

We wait about fifteen minutes, then add flour until the dough forms. Dumplings are formed in a simplified lazy way, from which the name comes. Just roll out the sausage and cut it crosswise into approximately equal pieces.

Cooking is also simple and quick. Throw the pieces into boiling water and stir so they don’t stick together. After boiling (pieces will float), wait two minutes. We catch it in a bowl, pour over the oil that we have left.

If the fat content of the cottage cheese is not of great importance, then its moisture content greatly affects the consistency of the dough. You will have to add more flour to a weak product, which will spoil the taste. It makes more sense to express the whey first. To do this, the cottage cheese is placed in cheesecloth, hung and left for a couple of hours.

Option 2: Quick recipe for cottage cheese dumplings

One of the simplest but most delicious versions of a popular dish. It’s ready in no time and within fifteen minutes there will be a whole bowl of aromatic and tasty, but lazy cottage cheese dumplings on the table.

Ingredients

  • 300 g granular cottage cheese;
  • egg;
  • 100 g flour;
  • sugar;
  • 35 g semolina.

It is not necessary to wipe the cottage cheese; you can mash it. Add all the other ingredients except flour. You shouldn’t add a lot of sugar at once, it’s better to sprinkle the dish when serving or pour it into sour cream; 30 g is enough for the dough. But salt is welcome, add vanilla if desired.

Add flour and stir again. That's all! Sprinkle the board well with flour, place the sticky curd dough on it, roll it a little, and divide it into pieces. Water should be boiling on the stove nearby. Two liters is enough.
Step 3:

Prepare in just a couple of minutes. Remove using a spoon or slotted spoon. To serve, pour in sour cream, butter, sprinkle with sugar if there is not enough. We serve the dish to the table.

If there are dumplings left over, then simply put them in the refrigerator and fry them in oil at the right time.

Option 3: Favorite lazy dumplings

Raisins and cottage cheese are almost a classic combination and it is ideal for lazy cottage cheese dumplings. Recipe without semolina.

Ingredients

  • 0.35 kg of medium fat cottage cheese;
  • 25 g raisins;
  • 20 g sugar;
  • egg (can be small);
  • 120 g flour.

How to cook

We take cottage cheese of moderate fat content. Mix it with the egg, beat or grind with a spoon, add sugar. Add the washed raisins, and then the flour. Let's make the dough.

You can roll out the mass and cut it, as in the recipes above, or just make small balls. Place in boiling water for literally three minutes. We take it out (you can drain it in a colander), pour it with oil or sour cream.

Raisins go well not only with cottage cheese, but also with cinnamon and honey. Based on these ingredients, you can prepare a flavorful filling for dumplings. Mix the products, add a little water and heat.

Option 4: Hearty lazy dumplings with potatoes

Potatoes make quite tasty and aromatic lazy dumplings, but you need to know the features of this dish. Below are ingredients for two servings, increase if necessary.

Ingredients

  • 300 g raw potatoes;
  • egg;
  • 35 ml oil;
  • 0.13 kg flour;
  • 100 g onion;
  • 25 g butter in puree.

Step by step recipe

Cut the peeled potatoes into pieces, boil and mash them without adding any liquid. Cool slightly, add salt and add the egg. As soon as we thoroughly mix the mass with it, add approximately 90 grams of flour. The dough should not be hard, otherwise it will not be very tasty.

Dump the potato dough onto the flour, roll it out with light pressure, and cut it. There is no need to roll them in flour, just move them apart so they don’t stick together.

Place the potato pieces in boiling water, add salt, and cook for 2 minutes. By this time, onions should already be frying in oil on the adjacent burner.

We catch the dumplings with a slotted spoon and immediately add them to the onion and cook for a couple more minutes. You can prepare the dish in advance, keep it in the refrigerator, and simply fry it at the right time.

You can make this dish in a lean version, if you omit the egg. In this case, it is recommended to steam them (as in the recipe below), and then also fry them in oil with onions or other vegetables and mushrooms.

Option 5: Dietary lazy dumplings without steamed eggs (curd dumplings)

A feature of lazy eggless dumplings is their weak structure. The pieces do not retain their shape well, and small parts may break off during cooking. Here is a steamed version of this dish. In addition to the ideal shape, they are also very tasty, dietary, and retain vitamins and other useful substances as much as possible.

Ingredients

  • 400 g cottage cheese;
  • 5 tablespoons of kefir (sour cream);
  • 70 g semolina;
  • flour for dusting;
  • 3 tablespoons of oil;
  • sugar.

Cooking method

As it should be, we wipe the cottage cheese and mix it with kefir, cereals, add granulated sugar. Let the mixture sit for half an hour. If the cottage cheese is steep, then two tablespoons of cereal are enough.

After steeping, place the dough on flour so that nothing sticks. Roll up the sausage and cut into two-centimeter pieces. Then each one needs to be given a shape, for example, washers, ovals, balls.

All that remains is to put it all on the grill. Cook in a double boiler for 7-10 minutes. Water or grease a little with oil.

You can make the dough without semolina just with flour. But when you add cereal, it turns out much more tender, softer, and acquires a certain looseness and grainy structure.

Option 6: Lazy dumplings without cottage cheese with cabbage

A version of cabbage lazy dumplings without cottage cheese for lunch or dinner. These unique dumplings are quite easy to prepare. Additionally, you will need white flour with eggs and a few other vegetables. For a lean version, make the dough without eggs, and after cooking, pour in olive oil.

Ingredients

  • flour 0.3 kg;
  • egg;
  • bulb;
  • approximately 300 g cabbage (fresh white cabbage);
  • 1 tbsp. water;
  • two tablespoons of vegetable oil;
  • butter.

Step by step recipe

We measure the cabbage and chop it. There is no need to make long straws, since the dumplings will still be cut into small pieces. Finely chop the onion. Place the onion in a frying pan with vegetable oil, and then the cabbage. We don’t cook the vegetables for very long, we just fry them. Add spices, any to your taste.

We make unleavened dough, as for ordinary, non-lazy dumplings. Mix the egg and water, add salt and flour. After kneading, let it rest. Just during this time the filling will cool down.

Roll out the dough into a layer, lay out the filling, and roll it into a tight roll. We cut it into pieces of an attractive size for us. You can make it smaller or larger. It's not that important. The main thing is to slightly flatten each piece at the cut points, this will prevent loss of filling.

Throw dumplings with cabbage into salted boiling water, boil for three or four minutes, see for yourself, they should be completely cooked. Remove from the water and pour in butter.

The same wonderful dumplings can be prepared with sauerkraut. Just keep in mind that it takes much longer to prepare; be sure to fry and simmer until soft.

Option 7: Lazy dumplings with potatoes and mushrooms

A method of preparing lazy, but very tasty and aromatic dumplings with potatoes and mushrooms. They can also be lightly fried with onions or simply poured with melted butter, sprinkled with dill or chopped garlic. This dish also goes wonderfully with sour cream.

Ingredients

  • 150 g mushrooms;
  • 500 g potatoes;
  • 30 g butter;
  • a pair of eggs;
  • 1.5 tbsp. wheat flour;
  • small onion;
  • spices.

How to cook

Peel and cut the potatoes, boil them into pieces, then mash them. Leave to cool for half an hour. While the vegetable was cooking, it was necessary to fry the chopped mushrooms in oil with one small onion. Let's cool this too.

Combine mashed potatoes, mushroom mixture, add salt, add flour until we get a regular dough. We make small balls from it. If time is running out, then quickly roll it out and divide it into pieces.

Step 3:
Drop the pieces into boiling water, a few pieces at a time, stir. For flavor, add laurel and peppercorns, don’t forget to add salt. After three minutes, take it out. Fry or simply grease.

If you used boiled mushrooms for a lazy dish, you can cook them in the broth after them. The taste will be much richer.

Option 8: Lazy dumplings without cottage cheese (cheese)

You don’t always have cottage cheese at home, but not all recipes need it. A wonderful alternative to fairly simple and lazy dumplings without cottage cheese. This is not a sweet dish, it is perfect for dinner, lunch, and can even be a lifesaver if you have a couple of boiled potatoes at home.

Ingredients

  • 80-120 g cheese (hard);
  • 2 potatoes;
  • one egg;
  • flour (how much will be needed);
  • 50 g sour cream;
  • spices;

How to cook

Potatoes must be boiled whole, in their skins or without skins. But if you have boiled chopped tubers at home, then they will also work. Finely grate the cooled product. We do the same with hard cheese and place it in a bowl.

Add sour cream with egg, pepper and salt. Add flour to make a dough. Next, cut the dumplings as in the recipes above. Place in a saucepan and boil.

Fry the onion in oil, add the cooked pieces of potato dough, and heat for a couple of minutes. You can sprinkle with herbs.

In most recipes, potato lazy dumplings are complemented with sautéed onions, but it’s no less interesting with crushed white croutons. You need to heat the oil, add crushed crackers, lightly fry, add dumplings. In the sweet version, honey or a little sand is added to this dressing.

Option 9: Lazy dumplings “Children’s” with candied fruits

For bright, beautiful and very fragrant children's lazy dumplings, we take multi-colored candied fruits and high-quality fat cottage cheese of at least 9%. Only in this case the dish will delight you with its taste and will look very attractive.

Ingredients

  • a pack of cottage cheese (about 200 grams);
  • spoon of candied fruits;
  • small egg;
  • 60-80 g flour;
  • 10 g sugar.

Step by step recipe

Take a small egg, mix with sugar and cottage cheese. We add a little sand, since there is enough of it in candied fruits. Add white flour to make a soft dough.

We make dumplings right away. It is better to wet your hands with water. We make small balls and throw them into boiling water. We wait for the ascent, after which we time it for three minutes. Stir and cook over medium heat.

After three minutes, we catch all the dumplings with candied fruits, trying to shake off the droplets of water as much as possible. Pour melted butter over it and make the children happy.

These dumplings are very tasty and bright, but are intended for feeding children over two years old. If a child has food allergies, you need to study the composition of candied fruits; they may contain citrus fruits or artificial colors.

Option 10: Lazy cottage cheese dumplings with semolina porridge

You can prepare lazy dumplings from cottage cheese not only with the addition of semolina, but also with ready-made porridge. Usually it hardens, becomes steep and is not appetizing. A simple and economical recipe that every housewife should know. The amount of flour is approximate.

Ingredients

  • 250 g semolina porridge;
  • a pack of cottage cheese 9%;
  • egg;
  • a glass of flour;
  • 3 tbsp. l. oils;
  • 1.5 spoons of sugar;
  • a pinch of soda.

How to cook

Semolina porridge needs to be mashed well or simply stirred if it has not thickened too much. After this, add the pureed cottage cheese and egg, add flour and soda. Or throw in a pinch of ripper. Knead the usual lazy dough. We cut it into balls or pieces, having previously rolled out the flagellum.

Boil two liters of salted water. Boil the prepared pieces in the usual way, take them out into a bowl.

Pour oil and sprinkle with sand. You can serve condensed milk or sour cream.

In the above recipe, sugar is not added inside, since usually a small part is present in the porridge. But if desired, we also pour a little sand into the dough.

Option 11: Sweet lazy dumplings “Cherry”

Another very tasty variation of lazy dumplings made from cottage cheese with flour, but also with berries. If we don’t have fresh cherries, take them from the freezer. You can also use berries in your juice, just pour them into a sieve in advance, remove excess juices.

Ingredients

  • 180 g cherries;
  • egg;
  • 300 g cottage cheese;
  • 3 spoons of semolina;
  • 2/3 tbsp. flour;
  • 50 grams of sugar;
  • 50 grams of sour cream.

How to cook

Curd dough is prepared in the usual way. Combine cottage cheese with cereal and add sugar and salt. Grind everything together, add one large egg. Let it sit, then add flour. We determine its quantity ourselves.

While the dough is standing, remove the seeds from the berries. If the cherries are frozen, let them thaw completely. Otherwise there will be too much juice.

Roll out the entire dough into a long ribbon 5-7 cm long. Place a row of cherries in the middle until the very end. We make a tube so that the filling is inside.

Now this tube needs to be cut. We try to make pieces with berries inside, cut between them. Then we compact each one so that the cherry does not “pop out”.

Cook in the most usual way for a couple of minutes after surfacing. Serve with sour cream, you can sprinkle with sugar or cinnamon powder.

In fact, this is just an example of sweet lazy dumplings. In addition to cherries, you can take cherries, pieces of fresh or dried fruit. It is not necessary to cook the dumplings in water; they also turn out great steamed, the filling does not fall out, and the juiciness is preserved.

Lazy dumplings are that very case when they are simple and quick, and at the same time incredibly tasty and even healthy! From the simplest set of ingredients you can prepare a wonderful second course that will appeal to both adults and children. By the way, the latter will not only happily gobble up lazy dumplings on both cheeks, but will also happily participate in the process of their sculpting. After all, this activity is simple and does not require any special skills. If with ordinary dumplings you have to work hard and waste time, then with “lazy dumplings” everything is very trivial - you knead the dough with the filling right away, roll it out into a sausage and cut it into pieces. These dumplings cook very quickly, so in just 15 minutes you can prepare a hearty breakfast, a nutritious afternoon snack or a light dinner.

Lazy dumplings are not only a variation of the traditional dish with cottage cheese, familiar to almost everyone, but also dumplings with potatoes, mushrooms, cheese and herbs, cherries, raisins and other fillings. What’s not a great reason to pamper your family with new dishes, spending a minimum of effort and time on it? In general, lazy dumplings can be prepared from the same ingredients as regular ones, the only difference being that there is much less hassle with them. It is also possible to prepare unleavened dumplings, which are then complemented with sauces to taste. Among other things, lazy dumplings are convenient because they can be prepared for future use by storing them in the freezer, and this does not affect the taste at all. Well, just a real godsend for housewives!

Try to strictly follow the proportions of flour in recipes for lazy dumplings, since if there is too much flour, the dumplings will turn out tough, and if there is not enough flour, the dumplings may fall apart. For lazy dumplings with cottage cheese, it is best to choose fatty, non-acidic cottage cheese. It is recommended to rub grainy cottage cheese through a fine sieve, scroll through a meat grinder or grind with a blender. By the way, under no circumstances should you try to get rid of sour cottage cheese by preparing dumplings - your dish will be hopelessly spoiled. Lazy dumplings are usually small in size, and to keep them neat, the dough should be formed into a rope with a diameter of about 2-3 cm, then cut into pieces about 1.5-2 cm wide, holding the knife at a sharp angle. If desired, you can make decorative grooves on the dumplings by pressing them with a fork. You can also roll out the dough and cut dumplings of any shape from it. The lazy dumplings cook in salted water for about 5 minutes and once they have floated to the surface, they should be removed from the pan using a slotted spoon, so watch the cooking time carefully and do not overcook, otherwise the dumplings will become too soft and sticky. Lazy dumplings are served with melted butter, sour cream, jam, jam or topping sauces.

Recipe 6: cottage cheese dumplings with semolina on kefir (with photo)

  • 400 g cottage cheese;
  • 120 ml kefir;
  • 150 g semolina;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 3-4 tbsp. spoons of sugar;
  • 50 g butter for gravy;
  • salt to taste.

First, it is advisable to prepare the semolina, because... It will take time for it to swell. To do this, you need to mix semolina with kefir in a separate container (it is desirable that the kefir is warm), stir thoroughly so that no lumps form, and leave the semolina to swell for about 20 minutes.

At this time, you can grind the cottage cheese with sugar, add a little salt to it, beat in the egg and stir everything well.

Fill a wide saucepan with water (about 2/3 full), add about one teaspoon of salt and place over medium heat.

Combine the curd mass with the prepared semolina, stir everything well. Pour semolina onto a plate or board. Scooping up the dough with a teaspoon, spread the curd mixture onto the semolina and form small balls, which then need to be laid out on a board sprinkled with semolina or flour.

Carefully place the curd balls into boiling water. It should be taken into account that during cooking they will increase in volume, so you should not put a lot of dumplings into the pan at once. Bring the water to a boil and after the dumplings float to the surface, cook them for about another 3-4 minutes. The easiest way to remove the dumplings is with a slotted spoon. It is advisable to place them in a deep bowl and immediately coat them with butter to avoid sticking.
