As we wrote earlier, Kalina has gone down in history: after restyling, the hatchback and station wagon "merged" into the Granta family, complementing the sedan and liftback of the same name. And four models are now united not only by the common name, but also by the signature X-shaped design of the front end.

At the same time, all four bodies received new front fenders and a hood (the windshield washer nozzles were removed from it), writes Autoreview. The angle of inclination of the front part has also changed (gives the appearance more sportiness), but the sidewalls of the body have not received the characteristic stampings that Vesta flaunts. As for the stern, the sedan's license plate was moved from the bumper to the trunk lid. The trunk lock for all body variants is now with a button and an electromechanical drive. The simplest versions of the sedan have a key cylinder. There will be no more black bumpers: for all modifications they are now in body color, which also received two new colors - Techno (gray-brown) and Carnelian (red).
In the cabin - X-shaped elements of the "relief" of the instrument panel (now with white illumination) and a new coating of its decorative elements, and the side air ducts received chrome rims. The design and shape of the seats have also changed, which now have more pronounced lateral support (the driver's pillow is also adjustable in height by 40 mm). Noise isolation is reinforced with fleecy fender liner in the arches, rims with a new design.
No news on motors. Granta has two petrol engines left - an 8-valve 87 hp. with a five-speed "mechanics", 16-valve in the performance of 98 hp (with Jatco hydromechanical machine) and 106 hp. with manual transmission or "robot". In addition, they are now "plug-free", which we already wrote about earlier.

At the “mechanics”, the gear ratio of the main pair was increased from 3.7 to 3.9 for more dynamic acceleration: the 87-horsepower sedan is now gaining 100 km / h in 11.6 s instead of 12.2 s, and the 106-horsepower version with " mechanics" spends 10.5 s on this against the previous 10.9 s.

In the "robot" - a more tenacious clutch and a new firmware of the control unit. A "sport" mode has appeared, in which, as VAZ employees assure, the box switches a third faster. For driving in traffic jams, a "creeping" mode was also introduced, and in winter there is a function to start from the second stage. Gas-filled shock absorbers appeared in the Grant suspension, and an electric booster with new calibrations is used in the steering system.
With the change of generation, "Grant" has risen in price slightly. The sedan - by 10,000 rubles (now it costs from 419,900 rubles), the liftback added 2,000 (from 436,900 rubles), and the hatchback even fell in price - from 460,600 to 436,900 rubles. The station wagon fell in price immediately by 28,300 rubles - now its price starts from 446,900 rubles.

At the beginning of 2019, the Granta Cross station wagon with increased ground clearance, advanced plastic body protection and roof rails will also go on sale. Granta Sport will also be updated later.
