One of the most popular models of the AvtoVAZ company today is LADA Granta. She came to replace the Samara family. And quickly became popular and bought. The Granta station wagon model was never published. This is because the plan for the production of new cars was adjusted by AvtoVAZ. As a result, "Grant wagon" did not get into the lineup. In the same way as the modification in the body of the crossover.

The fact is that Grant simply would not fit into the AvtoVAZ lineup. The Largus station wagon, like the Priora in this modification, surpasses it in terms of quality and ease of equipment. So the production of the Granta model would simply not be commercially viable. But since many motorists were waiting for this car, the manufacturers left hope for its release. Having said that the development is frozen for an indefinite period.
Appearance
Yet, despite the suspended development process, "Grant wagon" deserves attention. It differs from the sedan not only in increased capacity and dimensions. The developers also changed the design a little. What can be judged by looking at the photos of the model. The designers decided to make the back part not only elongated, but also raised. This design could make it possible to safely transport even bulky items.
The front end has also been slightly raised. This would have a positive effect on handling and patency. After all, the absence of low overhangs allows you to move comfortably both on city streets and off-road.
The disappointment of people who learned that the "Grant wagon" will not be published can be understood. After all, the modification in this body was the result of the painstaking work of designers and designers.

After all, it was expected that the novelty will delight with improved cross-country ability and high ground clearance. This modification in the sedan could not boast. It was also planned to equip the model with a chassis optimized for cargo transportation, a roomy and spacious interior, an increased security system and auxiliary comfort options.
It was assumed that in terms of characteristics and parameters, the Lada Granta station wagon, the configuration of which remained unknown, would be similar to the Vesta. But not just the volume of the luggage compartment. At Vesta, it holds 480 liters. The station wagon "Grant" was supposed to have a trunk of 650 liters.
General characteristics
Well, that's all the information regarding the frozen version. Now we can say a few words about the Lada Granta liftback car. The station wagon will have to wait a long time, but other versions are available for sale now.
They are offered with three engine options. Which produce 87, 98 and 106 horsepower, respectively, with the same volume of 1.6 liters. Their dynamics and consumption indicators are different. However, cars with a 106-horsepower engine under the hood are the most popular, so they should be considered in more detail.
Such a "Grant" can accelerate to a maximum of 181 km / h. The speedometer needle reaches the mark of 100 km / h 12.3 seconds after the start. Consumption is moderate. For 100 city kilometers, the model takes 9 liters of fuel. And on the highway - about 5.2 liters.
By the way, only models with a 106-horsepower unit are offered with both "automatic" and "mechanics".
Problem of choice
It is interesting that many people, wishing to acquire a spacious Russian-made car, can hesitate for a long time in terms of their decision. Most of them are tormented by the same question. Which is better - "Kalina station wagon" or "Granta liftback"?
It's hard to decide. Both one and the other model has a striking design, and also has a number of technical advantages. They are similar, but there are also differences. The fact is that Granta represents a new family of cars from AvtoVAZ. The traditions of the 90s, in turn, are continued by Kalina wagon. "Granta" is bought more often, but only because it looks more original and fresher. Today, budget cars are in high demand among young people, and for them, design and modernity are of considerable importance when choosing a vehicle.
Yes, and from an object point of view, Kalina is inferior to a newer model. There are too many flaws and shortcomings from the past in her salon. And in the "Grant" they are practically non-existent. In terms of technical capabilities, the models are the same. Differences are noticeable only in rich trim levels. In which Granta stands out with a wider list of units and attractive speed performance.

Granta in existing modifications is offered with a wide range of equipment. Most likely, the unreleased station wagon had the same equipment.

Price
Finally, I would like to say a few words about the price. The unreleased station wagon would presumably be offered to potential buyers for 600,000 rubles. The consolation is that the modifications currently being implemented are cheaper.
The Granta sedan in a luxury configuration and with a 106-horsepower engine is offered at a price of 520-570 thousand rubles. And the basic version with an 87 hp engine. from. costs only 340-390 tr.
Liftback prices are higher. However, they remain acceptable. The most inexpensive model will cost 365-415 thousand rubles. A “charged” one with the best engine and equipment will cost approximately 535-585 thousand rubles.
This is all useful information regarding Granta. Of course, it is a pity that the wagon never saw the light of day, but, as you can see, sedans and liftbacks are also good cars from a technical point of view.
