How to focus on work. How to manage attention and concentrate

The ability to concentrate is an important part of a successful person's arsenal. Having learned to concentrate, to concentrate on a particular goal, a certain type of activity, you have a very good chance of achieving success in this.

In this article we:
A) Let's discuss why the ability to concentrate is so important.
B) Let's figure out what factors prevent us from concentrating.
C) Let’s think about how to eliminate factors that interfere with concentration.
D) Finally, let's develop a general strategy that will help us learn to focus.

What is the role of the ability to concentrate?

(Perhaps you will immediately scream to yourself: what is the role?!!! And so it’s clear!!! Let’s get closer to the point!!! Have a little patience: let’s deal with everything in order. We want to learn how to concentrate, right? So, there is no need to get distracted, you need to read in order. Well, I’m finishing the protracted introduction.)

Physiological scientists have established that a person’s performance changes during work. The first ten to fifteen minutes is the so-called burn-in period, the next 20-30 minutes are optimal performance, and after some time exhaustion sets in.

What is the situation with performance and work efficiency during these periods?

Run-in: increases
Middle phase: highest
Exhaustion: Decreases

Taking this into account, you should work in periods of about an hour, so that, firstly, good development occurs, then you work hard and practice a little to fight mild fatigue. Then you need to pause, rest a little and start a new cycle.

I think there is no need to explain that by being distracted, we disrupt the natural course of this cycle. If we are distracted once every 15 minutes, we run the risk of never achieving maximum performance - and therefore not seeing decent results. What kind of effective work is this...

As you can see, a person purely physiologically (that is, if we consider him as a kind of “biorobot” :)))) must work with concentration, without distraction.

What about from a psychological point of view? It's not hard to guess. The business that captivates us, the business that captivates us, occupies all our thoughts (that is, the thing on which you are focused) is done much easier, the process of work itself gives you pleasure - it’s interesting to work!
So, perhaps the first commandment of a person who wants to succeed in one thing or another: productivity requires concentration on one subject!

What prevents us from focusing?

1. External factors that interfere with concentration
- noise, music
— neighbors and colleagues asking questions
- ICQ and phone
- something else that requires your attention, competes for attention with the thing that needs to be done.

2. Internal factors that interfere with concentration (ATTENTION!!!)
- general poor health
- lack of a clear activity plan
- unbalanced emotional state
- disinterest in work

The lists go on. By the way, if you really want to learn how to concentrate properly, I advise you to minimize the browser window, open a piece of Word or Notepad and write a small list under the heading “What prevents me from concentrating.” I emphasize that it doesn’t hinder you in general, but what prevents you from doing a specific thing, focusing on a specific job.

I got this list:
1. I have more interesting things to do (surf the Internet, play with a new toy). I don’t do this, but my thoughts keep coming back to me.
2. Work does not give me satisfaction.
3. I did it yesterday and it just makes me bored - the routine drags on.

However, I understand that it is necessary to do it. Here we are not discussing how to force yourself to do this or that thing (victory over laziness and gaining motivation is a topic for a separate discussion).

So, smoothly, we got to the main thing.

How do you still concentrate?

How can you learn not to get distracted, do your job effectively, focus on important things and not waste time?

Now I’ll try to be brief;))) Everything that is written above can be considered an introduction, here is the essence.

1. We provide ourselves with a good workplace. Ask your family and friends not to disturb you if you are working from home, and gently let your colleagues know that you don’t really like being interrupted. Explain to them that you yourself are distracted every hour and are ready to discuss with them anything they want. You can also casually explain to them why it is so important (for you and for them) to focus on work.

2. We work in periods of an hour, with a break of 10 minutes. This type of work organization best promotes concentration. It may be difficult at first not to be distracted for a whole hour - be patient, developing the ability to concentrate does not come so easily.

3. We provide ourselves with the necessary psychological attitude. You need to remove all internal factors that interfere with concentration. Feel like your work really matters to you. Focus on the results it brings (salary, job growth, position in society).

4. Always have a clear work plan: you must know how much, what and when you have to do. This will help you focus not just on the work, but on the result and you will strive for it, because after achieving the goal for the day (not necessarily for the day) you will receive a reward. You've done the job - feel free to go to ICQ! =)))

5. Start working as early as possible!!! Start your planned tasks in the morning or from the moment you arrive at work. Let there be no distracting activities between starting work and waking up. Don't allow yourself to check your email as soon as you sit down at your computer. Do not open ICQ or reader. The way you start your day will affect the rest of your day. Once you set a working, business-like tone, it will become much easier to concentrate (For me, this point turned out to be the most effective. Perhaps the fact is that it came from experience, and was not deduced logically. Therefore, I advise you not only to read and apply my or someone else’s then some advice, but also try to find your own methods by observing yourself and doing experiments).

6. Another secret from me personally, a continuation of the previous one. You need to focus on important matters not when you sit down at the table, but in bed. Think about your work, try to evoke positive emotions in yourself towards it. Tell yourself that you will do it with interest, with fervor, with passion. That you show creativity and a truly original approach that your colleagues and clients will appreciate.

P.S. Please note that in this article we talked about how to learn to concentrate, what prevents you from concentrating on work, etc. - seems to be a narrow topic, a kind of life hack that fits into standard recommendations like “10 ways to unscrew a light bulb” (“10 tips on how to concentrate on work”))))), but in the end it turned out that this “narrow topic” is very closely associated with motivation, a healthy lifestyle (to focus you need to be in good health - see above), planning and time management.

Hence the main conclusion: if you want to be successful in general, and not just be able to screw in light bulbs well, then you need to constantly see such relationships and, while optimizing one area of your life, casually put things in order in the rest. And, of course, don’t rely only on someone else’s advice. Even on mine;))))) Think and experiment! And yes, also comment;)) If you have something to say about concentration and more, welcome to the comments!

May also come in handy.

All people have problems with concentration. Sometimes our mind can pretend to be a cunning little lizard lurking around in the dark corners of our workday, forcing us to do everything but what we need to do. If you can't focus on one thing and take it to its logical conclusion, you are in the right hands. The ability to focus is a skill we all need to develop. However, the process of developing the ability to eliminate interruptions, concentrate your efforts and plan your daily routine does not have to be torture. However, with these abilities, you can harness your overactive mind, optimize its functioning, and become the best possible version of yourself. And this article will tell you how to do this.

Steps

Practice active concentration

Take notes as you work. One of the most effective ways that you can actively focus on what you are doing is by taking notes by hand. Unlike printed text, handwritten notes force us to actually do what we need to do, allowing us to hold a clearer mental vision of our work and be more involved in it on a subconscious level.

    • If you can't get yourself together and concentrate during a meeting or class, take more active notes. Let your hand never cease to write. Even if the notes will not be useful to you in the future, this way you will keep your mind from being in the clouds.
  1. Scribble. Overthinking is a sign that people are not paying attention. It turns out that some of the most active thinkers also tend to actively scribble. If you draw, even just squiggly lines or something silly, while you're trying to concentrate, some studies show that you can help you engage your mind and focus, keeping boredom at bay and keeping your brain active. and his receptivity to learning.

Speak out loud as you work. Like doodling and note-taking, speaking out loud while working or studying, research shows, actively helps us retain what we read and the ideas that come to mind, even though your roommates might think you don't. there are not enough cogs in the head. But who cares? Like note-taking, verbalization allows us to better retain information, creating a two-step learning process and promoting full engagement in the process, making it easier to refer to the learned information later.

    • If this bothers you, try finding a separate, very quiet place where you can study, or wait until your roommates have left to try this method alone. Or just stop worrying about what they think of you. Talk to yourself! We all do it.
  2. Look only for the right solutions. Professional drivers know that when their car skids, they need to look not for obstacles that they would like to avoid, but for a safe space to maneuver. Successful football players move towards open space during a game, successful guitarists look for an empty space to successfully practice their parts, and excellent students focus on the right direction of action.

    Make a plan

    1. Find the best time to work. Are you a morning person? Night owl? Or maybe you work best in the afternoon? Determine the time of day when you are at your best and plan your active life based on this fact. There's no point in pretending. You shouldn’t pretend to be a morning person if in your heart you long for lessons to start not at 8 in the morning, but at 3 in the morning. Listen to your heart and do what really works.

    2. Plan every day from the very morning. Having a plan will help you get rid of distracting thoughts and emotions. Break down each thing you need to do on a given day, trying to predict how long it will take you to complete it. Try to leave some wiggle room in case you end up needing more time to finish your coursework or prepare for that presentation at work.

      • Do your best to avoid doing multiple things at once. If this is the time for breakfast and reading the latest newspaper, try to exclusively have breakfast and read the newspaper during this period. You don't have to worry about studying for your English exam if you have your preparation scheduled for 6:30 p.m., after work and before your dinner with friends.
    3. Work actively on both short-term and long-term goals. It's best if you find something that reminds you of why you do what you do. This way it will help you move in the right direction and will remind you of what you will eventually achieve. Remember your long-term goals and how small steps will lead you to big achievements.

      • When you're trying to sit down to study trigonometry, for example, one of the biggest hindrances can be the thoughts: “Why am I doing this? Do I really have to miss parties my whole life?” At times like these, it can be helpful to remind yourself why you're studying this class: “I have to pass this class so I can get my master's degree, go on to my doctorate, and become the coolest pediatric neurosurgeon. My plan is in action." Take some time to laugh evilly and then get back to work.
    4. Create a habit and then make changes to it. Monotony itself can be very distracting. Understand when you get bored of the same, same, same. Try to plan your day so that different types of daily activities alternate with each other and go on continuously. Try to organize your day in such a way that you do not have to do one household chore after another. Alternate housework with studying or exercising. Don't respond to all emails at once. Answer a few, then take a break to do something else. At the end of each such day, you will be able to see how much more productive your activity has become if it was correctly organized.

      • This method may not work the same for everyone. Understand for yourself how you work best. If you feel it would be more efficient for you to go through all the paperwork first, go ahead and do it. Pour a glass of wine and get to work.
    5. Rest according to your schedule. Breaks are important, but the temptation to take a break can creep up at the most insidious moments, for example when something is not going well and you would rather take a rest than overcome that difficult point or page. If you set regular breaks and try to stick to this schedule, you will not get tired, but at the same time, it will not harm your productivity.

      • If you have a long day ahead, some people find the 50-10 method effective. If you have a ton of work to do, do the work for 50 minutes and then take a 10-minute break to do something relaxing. Get up from your desk, go for a walk, watch a video about a bulldog on a trampoline on YouTube. In general, do what you need to do first to get the break you need. Then get back to work.

    Removing Interference

  3. Try not to react to interference that you cannot control. Sometimes there is simply no escape from them: something distracts you from work. Sometimes it happens that you find what seems like the perfect place in the far quiet corner of the library, a place where you hope to get all your work done, and suddenly some guy next to you, reading old newspapers, starts coughing so hard that he looks like he's about to cough up. your lungs. What to do in this case? There are two options:

    • Leave. If the interference is unbearable, you don't need to react sharply, but you also shouldn't sit there wasting time aimlessly. Get up, gather your things, and find another quieter place in the library.
    • Ignore this. Put on some headphones and play a nice song to drown out the distracting voices of other people, or just focus on your reading until you stop noticing them. People aren't trying to annoy you on purpose. Deal with it.
  4. Try to do without the Internet for as much time as possible. Sometimes it feels like the browser window is designed to ruin our lives. You're one tab away from going down the rabbit hole of old boxing match videos and messages from your girlfriend. You don't even have to close your work! If possible, go without the Internet while you work. Put your phone aside, turn off Wi-Fi and get to work.

    • If you need a computer and the Internet for work, protect yourself from the very beginning. Block the websites that distract you the most using programs like Anti-Social, or download time-limiting software that will allow you to use the Internet only during set periods of time. You can take breaks during which you can watch videos on YouTube, for example.
    • Concentration is necessary in any business. It needs to be developed as a habit. Make it a rule to do no more than one thing at a time with all your heart.

How to Focus on Work

The reason why you can’t concentrate on your work most often lies in the task itself. Most likely, this is a boring task or one that you are not the best at. Yes, sometimes remote workers have to do this even at their favorite job :) But no matter how uninteresting the task is to you, you need to complete it. And to finally stop reading articles on Surfingbird or looking for inspiration on Pinterest, here are some proven ways to focus on work.

1. Get away from the computer

If you catch yourself thinking that an hour has passed and you still haven’t sat down to work, just get up and leave the computer (first close all interesting tabs or the browser altogether). Distract yourself for 5-10 minutes to do something completely different: wash the dishes, take out the trash, vacuum. Then get back to WORK!

2. Play sports

If I can't concentrate on work or am distracted by different thoughts, I lay out my mat and do sports or yoga for 15-20 minutes. After physical activity, a charge of vigor appears, a surge of energy, a certain fuse, and then I return to work.

3. Change your location

If you usually work at a desk in your room, move to the kitchen or living room, or even head to a nearby cafe or park! A change of environment encourages you to work, as if it gives you the opportunity to start everything with a clean slate and with new strength. Just make sure that the new place will be comfortable for you to work in and will not introduce new distractions.

4. Light an aroma lamp or incense

It has been scientifically proven that different smells can have different effects on our brain and activity. To get into a working mood, use essential oils of lemon, rosemary, ginger, lime, and mint. Or light an incense stick.

Interesting fact! If you use aromatherapy regularly, your brain will develop a reflex. That is, when you light a lamp with rosemary oil again, the brain will understand that there is mental work ahead and will be ready for it :)

5. Breathe

I already wrote about meditation in an article. She will help us here too! If you cannot concentrate on your work, close your eyes, sit in a comfortable position and begin to breathe slowly. Ideally, you should slow your breathing to 4-6 breaths per minute. Do 3-5 repetitions of slow breathing, slowly open your eyes and calmly return to work.

It is important not to hold your breath, but to slow it down! Breathe deeply, exhale in small portions.

To avoid being distracted by unnecessary thoughts during a breathing exercise, repeat to yourself: “Inhale-exhale.” Imagine how the air enters the nose, circulates throughout the body and exits through the nostrils.

If you want to take meditation more seriously, download a weekly meditation and yoga plan, which, by doing 10 minutes for 7 days, will improve 5 areas of your life.

6. Stand up

I recently read that to improve your performance at the computer you should work while standing! Of course, not all the time, but only at the beginning of work, in order to concentrate and get involved in the process. This is explained by the fact that in a standing position, more muscles of the body are involved than in a sitting position, thus the overall tone of the body increases, it is more difficult for a person to relax, and the brain is more tuned to work.

Tell us in the comments, how do you concentrate on work and what do you do when you want to be distracted by something more interesting?

Sincerely, Kazakova Ekaterina

Single-tasking

The first rule: concentrate on only one thing. We are all often distracted because modern society places unrealistic expectations on us. They want us to consume oceans of information non-stop. We must be constantly available to her. Many people respond to this alarming increase in demands by dividing their attention into several tasks at once. And this approach does not bring us any good.

We suffer from a fundamentally incorrect stereotype: they say that doing several things at the same time is necessary in order to cope with the burden of modern problems. But multitasking tactics usually lead to dead ends.

We find it difficult to concentrate. Our attention is scattered. We become impolite. Our productivity decreases. We lose control over the surrounding reality. We pretend that we have time to do a lot. Why do we pretend? Because our brain is not capable of fully working on more than one task at a time. Any neurophysiologist will confirm this.

Senseless worries about events that have already happened or groundless worries about the future are the main and tireless plunderers of our time. Thoughts about what others will say also hinder us.

The first step towards overcoming all these hindrances is to achieve full awareness. Notice to yourself what your thoughts revolve around. Is this some specific “thorn” from the past? Or have you developed a habit of worrying about the twists and turns that may await you in the future?

Remind yourself that such thoughts are not only unhelpful, but also counterproductive: they prevent us from being present in the here and now. We cannot change the past, predict the future, or exert control over other people. At this particular moment, we can only focus on solving a specific problem that will make a positive contribution to our life, our work and the reality that is seething around us.

To-do lists

When we try to remember all the things we have to do in the foreseeable future, it often turns into an additional stress load. But if we transfer the list of tasks to paper, we relieve ourselves of the burden of fears that we might forget something.

A person is able to simultaneously retain 7–9 things in memory. Making a list frees up your mental resources to focus on one specific task and not be distracted by anxious thoughts about other responsibilities.

By using lists, we can sort and structure the seemingly overwhelming mountain of tasks, focus on the most pressing ones, and achieve maximum efficiency.

The nastiest frog

Mark Twain once said that if you eat a frog in the morning, the rest of your day will be wonderful because the worst of the day is over. Your “frog” is your biggest and most important job, the one you most often put off. However, it is she who will now positively influence your achievements, and most importantly, your life.

The first rule of eating frogs: of the two proposed, you need to start with the most disgusting one.

In other words, if you have two important jobs to do, start with the larger, more complex, and most important one. Train yourself to take on a task without delay, bring it to the end and only then move on to the next.

25 minute rule

To reduce the temptation to put off completing a task, each active phase of a project should take no more than 25 minutes.

This technique involves breaking a task into 25-minute periods, the end of which is tracked using a timer. Each such period is accompanied by a short break. Four periods of work are followed by a longer break.

The technique is especially effective when you need to do something that you don’t want to do at all. When we know that we will work on a task for 25 minutes, and as soon as the timer rings, we can distract ourselves, it becomes psychologically easier to complete the work.

Distractions

You must create a positive work environment for yourself that is conducive to productivity. Eliminate all possible interference. If you're having a hard time working on a project or task, distractions will become just excuses for you to stop.

The Internet, colleagues always ready to chat with you, phone calls, pop-up email notifications - all this contributes to your procrastination. Eliminate all distractions for at least 25 minutes and get down to business.

How to talk to colleagues

In most work environments, it is impossible not to get distracted. It's hard to get back on track if the conversation you were interrupted by is spiraling out of control and you don't know when it will end. Therefore, you must set a time frame right away. The best way to do this is to announce what you are doing to the person heading towards you, and then ask targeted questions. Here are some examples:

“I'm just trying to clear out my mail. Are you coming to see me for a little while or should we make an appointment for another time?”

“I need to make some phone calls. Is there anything specific you want to discuss or can we talk later?”

“I'm going to a meeting in about five minutes. Can you briefly tell me your problem in half a minute or would it be better if I call you after the meeting?”

The magic word "no"

Why do we agree to lunch with a friend even though we are busy with an important project? Taking on additional responsibilities at the request of the boss, despite the fact that we were going to devote more time to our family? Do we come to the aid of our neighbor, even if it interferes with our plans? It's simple: we are afraid of letting people down or ruining relationships.

But we forget that we have the right to choose. You shouldn’t turn your own life into chaos by endlessly solving other people’s problems. Say “no” and people will begin to value your time. And you won’t have to regret your compliance every time.

From today, try to say no to all minor and “problematic” requests, and use the freed up time to complete a more important task. Refuse clearly, but politely. “I'm flattered that you thought of me, but I'm afraid the workload isn't allowing it,” or “I'd really like to, but I'm terribly busy.” Such forms of refusal will allow you to maintain a warm relationship with your interlocutor and get rid of unnecessary small tasks that “clutter” your day.

Diversity

Doing the same thing day after day can get incredibly boring. Tired of monotony, we begin to get distracted at every opportunity. To avoid this, develop different routines for different days of the week.

This is exactly what Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, does. Each day has a specific theme. Monday is reserved for meetings and company management. Tuesday is reserved for product development. Wednesday is dedicated to marketing, communications and development, and Thursday is dedicated to communication with developers and partners. Friday is the day of the company and its culture.

This routine helps you maintain calm in the midst of chaos. Every day, Dorsey focuses all his efforts on one topic, rather than scattering them across several tasks. His work week always follows these rules, so it’s easy for his colleagues and partners to adapt to him.

Checking mail

Create a schedule for what time you will open your email each day. For most people, the best option, the least disruptive to their workflow, is to check incoming correspondence four times a day and allocate no more than 15 minutes for each “session”.

1. First thing in the morning. Most people start their workday by checking their email to make sure they haven't missed anything urgent.

2. Before lunch break. Lunch time is a completely natural pause in your business activity; To make this time more productive, you can check your email.

3. Mid-afternoon. This is another natural pause when you need to take a break or are about to leave for a business meeting.

4. End of the working day. If you clear out your inbox as much as possible before you leave your desk, you'll be able to jump right into new messages the next morning.

Being able to concentrate on any activity in a timely manner is a very valuable quality, with which you can achieve good results in a particular area.

You have probably noticed that it is often extremely difficult focus on work or study, however you want it. Therefore, the skill of concentrating on a specific task is necessary and useful.

Here are some tips to help you focus on your work as quickly as possible.

Understanding Your Purpose. In order for your attention not to be scattered on all sorts of useless information constantly entering the brain, you need to continuously keep the goal in your head (read - How to set goals correctly). A sense of purpose will motivate you to do your best to achieve it. You need to run through your thoughts about what will happen when your goal is achieved. In this case, all actions will be as effective as possible, and nothing can distract you from the process of moving towards the desired result.

Realism of the goal. The inability to concentrate is often due to a vague task. When your goal is vague and difficult to achieve, there is a high probability that you will fail due to the fact that you will not be able to concentrate on the process of moving towards the result. When you have a very realistic goal, you can always determine at what stage you are. And this will motivate you to make every effort to get closer to the victorious end.

Setting commitments. Regardless of whether you are within a certain time frame or not, you must give yourself internal instructions to ensure that the task is completed. If you quit your job halfway, you are unlikely to achieve good results in your chosen field.

Quick start. In order for your working day to be effective, you need to set it at a businesslike pace from the very morning. This is not difficult to do; just start performing the task as soon as you are at your workplace. Don't let unnecessary little things distract you. Remember, a good start will lead to a very productive day.

Ability to take breaks. Researchers of the capabilities of the human body have come to the conclusion that labor productivity has a cyclical nature. In order to join the work process, the average person spends about 10-15 minutes. The next half hour is the most effective. After 45 minutes have passed from the moment you started the task, a stage of gradual exhaustion begins. Therefore, in order to maximize focus on studies or work requires ten-minute breaks between stages of the work process. This will allow you to maintain your performance at the highest level. There is no need to get stuck on any task, but at the same time you should not relax. Try to get used to a routine where you work for an hour and rest for 10 minutes.

Musical accompaniment. Here psychologists do not have a clear opinion. Music helps some people concentrate, while others find it annoying or distracting. All this is purely individual, but certain patterns can be identified. For example, church music can give you confidence and help you relax. Classical works awaken creativity in individuals, open up new areas of knowledge and help to concentrate. Modern genres have completely different impacts on labor productivity. So, for example, jazz and soul can both stimulate performance and set the listener in a romantic mood. When it comes to rock and metal, these genres can depress some people and inspire others. In addition, if external noise bothers you, then music will be your salvation.

Sense acuity training. Consistent exercises to improve sensory acuity may be the skill what helps you concentrate. You can train your senses of smell, sight, touch, hearing and taste in a variety of fun ways. Constantly visiting perfume stores can sharpen your ability to recognize a particular scent. You won’t notice how, after a short period of time, you can easily distinguish Boss 6 from Chanel Alure. Also, try guessing what you were served for breakfast using only your nose. An excellent way to concentrate and strengthen your vision is to watch the movement of the second hand. If you walk down the street, try to notice the most insignificant details in your surroundings: car license plates, clothes of passers-by, names of stores (walk attentiveness test And observation). To sharpen your sense of touch, try comparing different materials by texture, temperature, density, etc. Develop your hearing in the following way: while walking around the city, listen to the subtle sounds that are drowned out by the city noise. It could be a dog barking or a barely audible melody. In addition, a good exercise would be to mentally isolate one instrument from the orchestra and try to listen only to its part. It's also quite easy to train your taste. Buy many varieties of apples and take a small bite at a time, being aware of how each variety differs from another. Find spice packets at home and stimulate your taste buds by guessing which seasoning to use.

What prevents you from concentrating?

Extraneous sounds. It often happens that inability to concentrate caused by ambient noise. It could be annoying music or TV. Sounds coming from the street also make it difficult to concentrate. In order to reduce the influence of this factor to zero, you are better off moving to another quieter room or simply closing the window. In addition, people who are in the room with you can interfere with your concentration. You should ask them to remain quiet and argue that you are busy with important work that requires maximum effort and attention from you. Remember that the ability to concentrate in a noisy place is a talent that not everyone has.

Extraneous thoughts. Internal dialogue while performing any task is a very harmful thing, since it greatly distracts from the process itself. Anxious experiences for any reason do not make it possible to concentrate on work, because they scatter thoughts in different directions. In order to get rid of obsessive internal conversations, you need to scroll through your goal in your head. Then you can tune in to the result and complete the task as efficiently and quickly as possible. Keep a goal in front of your eyes, and this will motivate you not to be distracted by extraneous problems.

Information stimuli. Before you start or while working, there is always a temptation to get distracted and delay the moment of returning to your routine. You look at pages on social networks, correspond with friends, read articles unrelated to work and waste your time on unknown things. Planning will be your lifeline. Prioritize according to your goals. If you have set a certain amount of work for yourself, write down the stages of its implementation. Set time limits for yourself on visiting entertainment and news portals. Do this in the morning before starting work or during a break. You shouldn’t be distracted once again from the process of achieving results, since each time you will spend about 10-15 minutes to get into the business pace. Remember that taking on all the tasks at once means not completing a single one. Know how to set priorities, which will become the basis for focused work.

Mood. Often, in order to justify their laziness, people begin to come up with myths about a “non-working mood” and poor health. In most cases, these are excuses created only to avoid the work process. Try to discard such thoughts, constantly think about the result and the time frame within which you need to achieve it. This will help you stay positive and active in the workplace and get rid of procrastination. If you are really sick, it is better to start working after you have fully recovered.

Lighting. A workplace that is poorly lit can be a significant barrier to completing tasks effectively. The dimmer the light, the faster your eyes get tired. And fatigue leads to the fact that your attention is scattered on poor health. Choose a lamp for yourself that will shine from the side opposite the hand from which you are writing, so that no shadow falls. The light should be neither dim nor blinding. Choose the ideal option for you, and quality work will be completed for you.

Workplace.Workplace organization It's a serious matter! A soft chair or sofa is absolutely not conducive to concentrating your attention. A chair that provides good posture and a comfortable seating position is best for work. Remember that your place is not for relaxation and mental self-regulation. Take enough time to ensure that your work environment is as comfortable as possible.

Now you know, how to learn to concentrate and achieve your goals quickly and efficiently. Stay focused and success will not take long to arrive.
